"And as that lone sailor stood on the deck facing against Besmara herself ready to die, the goddess has a change of heart. She is suitably impressed by his bravery and agrees to help him fend off the Taldan navy." Han continues his story from previously.
Inspire Courage, +1 at/dmg/ saves versus charm and fear. Stacks with bless.

Trog Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Birgit opens her mouth and Trog 2 responds by falling to the floor and not moving.
Atum steps up and swings at Trog 1, his bardiche just missing the wounded Trog.
Silvi shoots her bow to no effect, though her treant companion has better luck. The massive club-like limbs swing at the two lower trogs. THe first strike puts down Trog 3, while the second connects and wounds Trog 4 mightily.

"Agreed. Let's keep moving." Atum says as he follows Han on the trail of the running Trog.

The group runs to the southeast door, chasing the troglodyte. As they come to the opening...another one of the seemingly ubiquitous javelins, rockets through the doorway. It misses by a lot and go skittering on the floor between Han and Atum.
Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Entering the room, the party sees the wounded Trog and another hulking, heavily built Trog. A brazier of glowing coals sits in the center of this room, its acrid smoke mixing with the ever-present troglodyte stench.

"Excellent work everyone. I knew Pharasma's blessing was just the thing that was needed." Maddie says knowingly, as she looks over her companions for injuries. ”I can heal everyone one last time now if you wish. I just don't know if we're still going to experience something worse than this when we'll really need it.”
”I do hope the sailor survives his encounter with the Dutchman.” She adds quietly, as an aside.

Atum will glance about the room briefly Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 11 before standing guard at the door.

GM Tektite |

Searching the room that accesses the stairwell, Silvi finds nothing but another door in the northeast corner of that room. Sandy, with Silvi's help, however finds a key on the big troglodyte's person and also an unlocked rusty, ironbound chest containing a suit of masterwork studded leather armor, a masterwork buckler, a masterwork rapier, a shortbow with 15 arrows, a scroll of cure moderate wounds, a scroll of invisibility, and a wayfinder. While searching, the party hears muffled noises coming from a door in the southeast corner of the big troglodyte's room.

![]() |

While a few of the others search the room, Maddie takes the time to reload her crossbow. "It seems we have two doors. I would opt for the one with the noises." She states, pointing her crossbow towards that door.
"Afterwards, we could also use the scroll of invisibility on someone and have them scout out the remaining areas?"

![]() |

After everyone is healed up and ready to go, Atum will walk over and throw the door wide with his bardiche at the ready.

GM Tektite |

Atum opens the door quickly, bardiche at the ready and Sandy slose by with his axe. The door opens to reveal a man lying in the corner of a small room. He cowers in the corner when the door opens, until he steals a glance and see it is not troglodytes in the doorway. Friends! Saviors! Thank you, thank you for saving me. My name is Balenar Forsend and I am of the Pathfinder Society. Did they send you to save me? He holds up his manacled hands. Do you think you could help a man out?

![]() |

"How did you end up becoming a captive?" Maddie asks, looking over the man carefully to gauge his overall truthfulness.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

GM Tektite |

Balenar looks relieved, rubbing his chafed wrists, when then manacles are taken off.He face winces and looks crestfallen when Han informs him that the group is not a rescue party. No matter, I may not have a lot of pull in the Society, but I know how it works. I heard this siege castle had crumbled open and I had hoped to get the jump on other field operatives. He sees the open chest and walks over to it. My gear its still here, wonderful. His mouth cracks a smile and he begins to strap on the leather armor and buckle his belt and rapier on. He pulls out the wayfinder, buffs it with sleeve and hangs it on his belt. So what brings you here, if not on a rescue mission? Same reason as me I suppose. he says wryly.

GM Tektite |

Captive? Ambushed by these stinking trogs. he say nodding at bodies on the floor. From what I could tell, they follow some trog, fancies himself some kind of splinter group leader. Cunning one he is, you can see it in his eyes. Didn't see him much, he keeps to the top floor, next one up. He runs a dirty hand through his hair. Look, I owe you guys my life. If you want my help...I'll offer my sword arm and inspirational songs.

![]() |

Maddie appears to be satified with her cursory examination of the captured Pathfinder.
"Although I would like to hear the end of Han's story, I wouldn't mind having your help in fighting this troglodyte leader, but I do not speak for the group. Do you require any healing?" She asks, looking him over again.
"We were sent here by the Pathfinder Society to explore the tower as you were. I'm so sorry that no one was sent to come and find you, but I'm happy that we were able to do so."

GM Tektite |

Assuming you want Balenar to accompany you.
Balenar shakes his head at Maddie's question. No dear, no healing needed but thank you kindly. He goes over his gear once again. So like I said, there is a troglodyte leader one floor up which is the last level. Have you explored the rest of the tower in it's entirety?

![]() |

Atum will silently lead the way into the next room.
