Takahiro takes his time to pick his way up and find out what is going on "A shrine to a friendly mountain spirit? We have those at home, make sure we leave a small offering or it might send rocks crashing upon us!" Takahiro will leave a silver if he can make it up there. After Danyn has taken the bowl...

Everyone is able to make it to the ledge with little difficulty. After Danyn removes the offerings, the rest of the party leaves their own offerings. Returning to the path, the party makes good time as the trail wends it's way down out of the mountains. The party manages to get to the foothills before having to stop and make camp. The night passes uneventfully and the next morning, all rise in good spirits. The following day on the trail, the air begins to feel warmer and more humid. Shortly thereafter, the ground begins to get muddy and eventually the party finds themselves trekking through swampy lowlands.

"Sparkle Elf is so much more easy to understand in water forest. Dead men coats are not much help now, though," Meatbeat adds, still wearing the Cold Weather clothes.

GM Tektite |

As the party makes their way into the swamp, thick blobs of fog dance in between large tickets as the foul stench of swamp gas pollutes the air. Several exotic species of vines twist along the vapor-shrouded path, creating an ethereal seeming tangle. At random intervals, a splash of fetid water sounds in the distance, signaling the presence of frogs
or other bog creatures.

Navigating through the swamp proves vexing for most of the party. Danyn and Kassi manage to keep to dry ground the eight hours it takes to navigate the swamp, but everyone one else slips and falls into the mire at some point. Takahiro tkaes the worst of it, slipping once an hour except the last. As the party finds dry ground again, Meatbeat, Zorlax and Takahiro feel as if the miasma they inhaled when falling seems to have gone to their lungs. Everyone but Danyn and Kassi also notice that their spills in the swamp have allowed leeches to attach themselves.
Leeches: Meatbeat has four, Asuna has nine, Zorlax and Takahiro have ten leeches each.
damage that is recovered as soon as the PC is healed in
any way (a DC 12 Fortitude save negates this damage).
Once a leech deals damage, it becomes bloated and falls
off. Leeches can be pulled or burnt off (which deals 1 hp
of damage to the host), or can be rubbed with salt until
they drop off (which deals no damage to the host). Any
creature with at least 1 point of natural armor can ignore
the effects of the leeches.

"I do not know. Perhaps more are under shirt. You should look now. We can help and see." Meatbeat suggests, removing the dead-guy clothing that is now apparently filled with leeches. Should his ruse work, he then readies to high-five Danyn (or nearest bro).

@Asuna "I am not try to take advantage of you and your flesh mounds."
@Kaneka "I am skill at rip and tear bug. Is easy with muscles." Meatbeat quickly rips one off, and makes another very unsettling face at the resulting feeling. He deftly draws his mug and drinks a hefty chug. He then wiggles his now bloodied fingers at Asuna. "See? If there are bug to rip under shirt, let Meatbeat. I will do if you not want. I also have ale to help pain not happen."

The party finds a dry place to camp and is able to remove the leeches. The night passes uneventfully and everyone is able to recover from the leech wounds with the aid of Takahiro. The following morning, the party rises, the sunlight having a sickly green-yellow in the miasma. Meatbeat finds he is coughing a lot and not feeling well.
The party sets out and after short time the come across a large log that rests across the dirt path, standing five feet tall. A moldering wood door covers one of the hollow ends of the log, and a makeshift mud chimney emits a thin wisp of blue smoke. From behind the crude house come the sound of someone humming an off-key tune.

Onset 1d3 days; Frequency 1/day
Effect 1 point of Wis damage; Cure 2 consecutive saves
Edit: I forgot to roll Zorlax and Takahiros Fort Saves. Meatbeat's disease had an onset of one day. The other two have an onset of three days.

Oh, no! A disease that afflicts my only decent mental stat! -1 Perception, Profession (Miner), and Will save right now.
Meatbeat drinks in response to coughing, resulting often is coughing up ale everywhere.

![]() |

It's two saves to cure. I likely had a lesser onset time. Meatbeat, having been slightly delusional, did accept Zorlax's offer to prove his intent, despite not realizing it made no sense to accept.

![]() |

You have an illness. It has not manifested like it has in meatbeat. Yours will onset in two more days unless you make the saves. For now, you have no symptoms, so essentially no, you're not sick yet.

"You guys must be really starving, we don't even know if it's edible or it might be made by some unknown creature."
"Anyway I'll go around the back and check if there's another entrance."

Asuna walks around the log to the small door, knocking on it. At that point she notices a small figure hunched over a small garden.
Zorlax starts to walk around the other side of the log and is surprised by a large alligator emerging from the bog to snap it's jaws at him.

Asuna responds while beginning to move towards the kobold and drawing her scythe from her back.

Get to the kobold?
Depending on Tektite's interpretation of corners, it looks like a double-move through the difficult terrain would get you just barely to it.
---What would be my chances of making a "door" in the log, Kool-Aid Man-style? Strength check, a sunder, or something? In the thought of efficiency, I'll throw a d20 out there, and see if it's relevant. If the Kool-Aid options aren't open, then it's a climb, which is a +0 (due to check penalty.)
