Garret listens and thinks the chanting is coming from the area near the fireplace.

Anail peers around a corner, sees nothing, and casts a spell!

Jaxal thinks the chanting resembles a sleeping spell! Deep Slumber

Owyn raises his sword and readies himself.

Ouida's spell apparently goes off, as the chant finishes in a high chant, then is silent! Suddenly, she appears next to the fireplace! Will Saves (DC 19)from Garret, Darion, and Owyn or fall asleep.

She quckly casts another spell, pointing at Anail. DC 17 Will or fall to the ground laughing

Dairon mumbles then falls over, asleep.

Anáil almost started chuckling to Ouidda's silly joke and cream tart. However, he finds in himself the resolve necessary to cast away the funny thoughts and focus on the task at hand.

"That wasn't even funny!" he declares as he nimbly moves forward towards the alledged Spider and strikes at her with his rapier.

Jaxal moves to Darion's side, slapping the man and awakening him!

Garret almost falls to the spell, then redoubles his will and shakes it off, then moves toward Ouida!

Owyn tries to fight off the spell, but finds his eyelids to heavy to hold open, falling to the ground, asleep! A short is worth a reroll, but you are only allowed one reroll per scenario.

Ouida tries to cast a spell on the defensive, but is stymied by Anail's presence! She curses as she loses the spell, then steps to the north of the sylph!

Jaxal slaps Owyn to wake him up as well. After he wakes, Jaxal moves further into the room.

Garret darts forward and trips Dorianna, then stomps on her!

He dusts himself off and double moves to be behind anail

Owyn sits up, groggy and confused about where he is. He then suddenly remembers as he hops up and runs toward the fight, drawing his longsword as he goes.

Dairon tries to be helpful by being distracting, trying to help the halfling.

Anáil checks upon Ouidda, trying to stabilize her.

Then he'll proceed to tie her up, gag her before they turn her in along with the proof.

Jaxal searches the room, figuring there may be additional evidence here, since this is where she came while fleeing.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Once the lady has been properly bound and gagged, Owyn will impart a bit of healing energy unto her.
Lay on Hands: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9

Tying up and bounding the unconscious woman, you look around and find that the papers and correspondence scattered about the room all pertain to Ouidda’s position as an elected member of the People’s Council and don’t provide any evidence to her criminal activities, association with the Shadow Lodge, or Aspis Consortium.

However, Jaxal spots a concealed door in the southeast corner of the room. Opening the door, you see two things. Piles of papers and a bound and gagged man!

Anáil, once he's made sure Ouidda is under good guard, ungags the man.

"Are you alright, Sir? Who are you?"

Anail begins to removes the bindings on the man, and quickly realizes the man is Amenopheus, the Sapphire Sage! The elderly man coughs and smiles at Anail. "Thanks to you for my rescue. I have been held here, after Dorianna discovered my subterfuge, acting as a double agent and investigating the Shadow Lodge." He goes on, telling you everything he has learned.

Meanwhile, checking the papers, you find among the cramped closet’s crowded shelves are documents relating to years of criminal dealings in Almas and other Andoren cities including Augustana, Oregent, and Carpenden, almost all of which clearly incriminate Ouidda as the crime boss known as the Spider. Bills of sale confirm that she has been heavily and personally involved in the slave trade out of Okeno in the Obari Ocean, and the kidnapping of countless aspiring actors through not only the Captive Audience but also small theaters and traveling circuses throughout southern Avistan. Many of these documents also allude to her role in the Aspis Consortium, though never overtly.

A box of collected correspondence provides equally damaging evidence of her influence within the Shadow Lodge, including extensive letters from cell heads throughout the Inner Sea, including Hondo Heru in Sothis, Caggrigar in Irrisen, Chalfon Dalsine in Oppara, and Kormiggon Sussworth in Kaer Maga, all suggesting they ramp up their assault on the Decemvirate instead of sitting idly by while the Shadow Lodge’s stodgy leader simply amasses contacts and resources in Absalom. Other correspondence indicates she has powerful contacts within the Grand Lodge itself, though they lack signatures or proper nouns, so any evidence is purely speculative. Finally, a letter in elegant script from a person signed only “the Needle” promises that “the Red Mantis will see the assassination through upon the orders of your ally.”

As you pore over the evidence, the guards arrive and take Ouida into custody, thanking you for apprehending her alive, so she can stand trial.

With the Spider’s identity revealed, her vast crime syndicate falls apart, and the Andoren authorities use the information gathered by the party to locate and arrest her associates throughout the city. The Decemvirate likewise sends crack teams of Pathfinders to locations throughout the Inner Sea to put an end to her poisonous influence over the minds and motivations of her fellow Shadow Lodge agents.
