Byrndarynn's icy missile strikes the ghostly elf squarely, causing her to shout in a most unghostly manner! Ripley the dinosaur stands guard over his master, snarling at the ghost.
GM - I think only Xiao Hua believes the ghostly soldiers are real. They continue to surround all of you, but don't advance on her position.

Natuala moves. How far depends on whether or not the ghostly woman is currently armed. Then when Natula's got that sorted she readies an action. And did it look like she took full damage from the snowball and the electricity before that?

GM Tarondor |

Natula's right. I forgot to add the damage of the two spells. Do over!
Byrndarynn's icy missile strikes the ghostly elf squarely, causing her to shout in a most unghostly manner! She drops to the ground with a moan and falls unconscious, still hovering several inches above the ground. Ripley the dinosaur stands guard over his master, snarling at the ghost.
"You'll pay for that!" says the ghostly male elf.

"So what's it going to be?" She steps back holding the wand over the fallen ghost.
force damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Sorry, I though that I had posted... Basically yeah, she was threatening the hostage (like a real hero), but would have shot him had he attacked. And actually her intimidate bonus is +9.
"Now drop the Candleyard act." She says gesturing to all the 'ghosts'.

Ser Willem cautiously moves towards the surrendering elf, watching for any sign of misleading. He keeps his sword drawn, just in case.

He instantly dismisses the ghostly apparitions. His own ghostly disguise fades as well, revealing a handsome elf wearing a bandolier of gear and a light crossbow across his back.
While he offers no resistance, the elf is quite angry. "You're all Molthuni spies and traitors! Collaborators! Your fascist masters will reward you well, but the people of Nirmathas will never bow to you!"

![]() |

Ser Willem smirks at the elf that is whimpering at their feet. "Listen, your friends already tried that. It was not an enjoyable experience to prove the locals otherwise. Right now you've got a few hurt Pathfinders, a very angry sorceress and me to deal with. You're lucky she hasn't burnt you to a crisp. Your lies are done, I suggest you surrender, come with us so the authorities can deal with you. Otherwise...", he trails off looking over at Natula.

"Where did your guard go? That would be just like some of the mercenaries I've met. Run when the boss is down and out and unable to pay."

![]() |

"Hey. Who's the prisoner here? Was anyone talking to you? If you really can't help yourself, you'll tell us what's down there. NOW." Natula points to the trapdoor.

GM Tarondor |

Still frightened by Natula, the elf shakes his head. "I don't know. I swear. We were just following orders."

"Following orders? From whom? Right now you're going to open that door. Nat, if he so much as blinks a spell, burn him. I'm going to check on our companions. "
Ser Willem does as he says and looks to the rest with the meager healing knowledge he has.

"Oh, my guard?! Where did he get to?!" Mr. Copperpot yells, then rushes around a corner.
"There you are!" he says as he quietly casts his illusion spell again.

The half-elf will comment at Mr. Copperpot's initial question about being brainwashed. It would appear so, Mr. Copperpot and it was a light loud of laundry.

![]() |

"Badgers? Badgers? We don't fear no stinking badgers." Natula sneers.

"Badgers? Badgers? We don't fear no stinking badgers." Natula sneers.
Bahahaha... get a rope..
Ser Willem looks to the others as he continues. "Then you are coming with us. Let's tie him up, stuff something in his mouth and he can be collateral should this Cetena decide she doesn't want to play nice."

![]() |

Mr. Copperpot looks anxious.
"If she's a killer, we should head back and tell them this mission can't be done! If the killer has an ambush prepared, and surely she will, we'll be walking right into it! Just like last time!"
One vote for going forward. ;P

Got an everburning torch.

Ser Willem will find a way to tie up their prisoner and gag him so he can't cast spells. He will then lead the elf in front of him as they descend. Before doing that, he will check on the female elf. If she is still alive, she will be tied up and left unconscious.
He keeps his sword drawn on the elf as they go down. "No more games. One misstep and you meet Nethys today."

Surely, your body guard will allow no harm to come to you, Mr. Copperpot. Justice must be served

"Fine I guess we'll let one of the wizards lead the way." Natula says with an edge of harsh annoyance in her voice.
She casts mage armor on Kalas.
"Find us some light boy."

Kalas the Bat |

Like a real familiar (with his own independent icon and everything), Kalas bold flaps his way into the dungeon. He attempts to fly casually and blend in with the other bats if any.

![]() |

So I take that to mean we didn't have time to tie up either elf?
Ser Willem moves forward towards the open archway, past Natula. I don't suppose you could have just turned your friend into a flying lantern?", he says, half smiling at her.

Kalas the Bat |

Not directly, they just have "empathy" with one another at this point, and Natula knows how fast he flies. Kalus is intelligent (troll-level intelligence) and can be scared by obvious threats, confused by things beyond his uplifted experience, made to feel hungry by food, and so on. If someone could speak bat with him he would come across as th smartest bat ever. In the village full of owlbears example he would probably see the owlbears as threats (at least to his allies)--big scary predators that they are--how threatening might be determined by how high was in relation to their paws. Natula would have a rough idea of about how far away he was (assuming he maintains his speed) when he saw them, and might get an inkling of the threat based on his reaction--is it one, cute, baby panda-owlbear with huge precious moments eyes, or an invasion force of awakened owlbears with Mandalorian battle armor, lasers, and jet packs? Kalas knows he has back up and is smart enough to figure out relative force power based on appearance. An old 20th level gnome wizard would not look particularly tough to him when compared to six hulking 1st level orc warriors outfitted with falchions, unless the wizard starting throwing his magic around. He has spellcraft as a skill, so he understands the basics of magic a could be impressed by that.

GM Tarondor |

Kalas disappears down the hallway, fluttering as he goes. After about one minute, you can distantly hear a shout. It might be human. Might not. You sense alarm from Kalas - a sense of unexpected fear and then a rush of adrenaline and panic. Fifteen seconds later, the bat moves back to Natula at top speed and hides in her cloak. He's not terrified...just very happy to be back.

![]() |

Mr. Copperpot looks alarmed. "How could you send your familiar out into the realm of a killer like that!? Very reckless! I'm glad he's still alive! Or she..."
He peers down the corridor. "So do we all turn back, then?"

"Right he's found something obviously very scary lets move!"
She urges folks to move before he returns.

He peers down the corridor. "So do we all turn back, then?"
"Hey! Kalas is my partner, not some pocket warmer, or fashion accessory like some familiars. What's your man just standing around for? Doesn't he get paid to fight?"
As he is coming back, Natula tries to determine whether the bat feels as though he is being chased.

GM Tarondor |

The half-elf will move to the front of the group, weapon drawn.
You've got to actually move your token, Talondreal. If you can't for some reason, be sure to ask someone to do it for you. I will do so if I can. But you're primarily responsible for moving your own token to show where you are.
