I've got a big federal trial tomorrow (I'm an attorney) and I've been preparing for it pretty intensely for a week. I'll try to get back to this tomorrow if I'm not utterly exhausted.

Take all the time you need, Tarondor. I'm going through a nine-day stretch with a bunch of groups at the hotel (including The Steve Miller Band!) myself. Good luck!
Also, I've rotated the map of the First Level (of Emerald Spire) so that North is up.
I'm running it as e6, so I'll be using different conversions to account for that - but thanks for the link! They're fighting Koth at the moment - I went draconic for his bloodline to stay on theme, I'm a little surprised you went with infernal?
Something homebrew, most likely. I have a behind-the-scenes ritual system set up for magic beyond 3rd level, so he's going to be using that to achieve his lichdom and make his ghosts. The rituals can run off of blood sacrifice, sacrificed spell slots or sites of power (basically ley-line hotspots, sort of thing), and he's used the ley-line at his cave to make himself immortal. It only keeps him alive while he's near it though, so he only gets to leave his cave for a number of years equal to his natural lifespan ever, and he's already wasted a good ten years on various errands.
Obviously, he's royally pissed that the red hand is going to press him into leaving his cave to lay siege to Brindol.
As for fighting him, I'll have to have some more minions around to make the fight a challenge.
I might have his phylactery be something a little more tied to the site than it currently is, maybe.
We could keep going for a while, I think. I'd really love to haul some loot back to town soon, so I can get around to crafting some scrolls of CLW. That way we won't be so constrained by per day resources.
I'm off to GenCon in the morning, so tonight's your last chance to get a response for the better part of a week! Otherwise, I'll see you fine lads and lassies on Monday.

I am so SO sorry for the long wait to post. It's been an unbelievably crazy week thanks to my birthday. Between the Renaissance Festival and a second trip to the State Fair, I haven't had a chance to turn on my computer to get my posts up! I swear I'll do better about keeping things up to date starting tonight. Thank you all for your patience. : (
Ilya's player hasn't posted on the boards in two weeks. Hopefully he or she is okay. But I'll bot Ilya once or twice more before seeking a replacement player.

Minor announcement!
I will departing on Saturday for a week-long trip to Florida to celebrate my parents' 30th wedding anniversary. As I'll be spending most of that week in various theme parks and such, my internet access will be pretty limited. Please bot Wymond and Triath as necessary until I return.
Hi, guys! Meloriel here, reporting in as Lilika. I'm thrilled to be joining you!
How much wealth was I supposed to start with, Tarondor? I made my character with starting wealth, but can scale it up if I should have level two wealth. Thanks!
Let me know how and when you want me to jump in. I'll get to work reading about your characters and the backposts in the gameplay thread ASAP.
Well, I don't have an exact count on the team's current wealth, but I'm going out on a limb and call it "dead broke". They haven't really cleared much in the way of loot yet. If you read their adventures on the 1st level, they had to cut a deal for passage and so never looted the whole place.
So, I think you should have more than a starting character but less than a 2nd level character in order to fit in. Why don't we call it 500 gp?
We need to agree (all of us, not just Lilika and me) on how Ilya will exit and Lilika will enter. It's easiest to do at Fort Inevitable but it doesn't really seem as though the team is planning to go back right now. I'm always tempted to pull a "Darren from Bewitched" and just switch them out without comment. :-)
Also, it's not likely Lilika would have wandered down here on her own. That'd be nuts and Grulk would likely have eaten her. So it could be that Ilya's just plain had enough and insists the team escort her back to Fort Inevitable, where you can meet up with Lilika.
Alternatively, Lilika could come up from below, fleeing what's there. It would require that she had been a prisoner of some unpleasant folks and got away. But that doesn't help us figure out what to do with Ilya.
Hey, just trying to figure out the few places Lilika would be familiar with in Fort Inevitable and I have a question for you: I see the only Inn listed on the map is the Julivar Arms, which is specifically mentioned as being pricey. Is there a cheaper inn in the town?
Also, can I assume I've already acquired a Warrant from the Hellknights, and if so, is it free to obtain or is there a processing fee?

Well, the Juliver Arms is the only inn specifically called out in the book, but it's also said to be the best inn in Fort Inevitable, implying that there are more. Tell ya what! Why don't you name the fleabag establishment where Lilika has been staying instead?

The Warrant is exhorbitantly expensive: 50 gp and 30% of all your take. You can purchase one if you like.
Well, my heart wants a full return to Fort Inevitable and a roleplaying even where you meet, but my head knows that 16 levels as a PBP is going to take us real-time years, so I'm willing to foreshorten that.
So..., here's what we're doing:
Lilika:
You were wandering in the Echo Wood, looking for some sign of anything that might restore your lost memories. You ran into some fairly well-organized thugs whose presence in the deep forest you couldn't have anticipated. They took you captive and put a bag over your head. You know you were kept underground for a few days while they discussed whether you would be worth more as a slave or an offering to someone named "Klarkosh."
Unwilling to wait around and learn their decision, you broke out of the prison and fled, with the thugs hot on your heels. You found a dark stairwell leading up and the thugs stopped short, unwilling to follow you. You soon found out why when attacked by an enormous and ugly spider that first poisoned you and then wrapped you in silk for later consumption!
You were certain your life was over when you heard human voices nearby and the sounds of a violent clash. You can hear muffled voices again, so perhaps the humans won?
