I am about to be on another trip. This time I'll be gone from tonight until Sunday June 25 and will not eve have cell signal so I cannot check in. Please bot me as needed.
GM SpiderBeard
Short on time, will post today or the weekend but just heads-up that there'll be spotty posts for a little bit.

If everyone was getting Prot then Zoso would have as well thinking they foresaw something wise he missed, but it's a bit of a retcon after seeing what our current foe is. Since we passed over that for a week without Zoso saying anything I feel it's a little unfair to the GM to conveniently retro-buff up off an assumed whim.
I'm saying this just for Zoso's point of view BTW, rationalizing why I'm passing up on it for the moment. Not being a melee character gives him a difference perspective of buffs and wards.

Hmm. I see your knowledge roll now. Likely too late, but a 15 might have been good enough to know the general stuff about demons.
It looks like a DC 16 was required (and succeeded) in our last encounter to find out about their acidic coating and susceptibility to cold iron/good weapons. During the course of the battle, we would have also encountered their spell and cold resistance, but not any of their other immunities/resistances.
GM SpiderBeard
The game is kind of wobbly on how much stuff you know about creatures the greater your rolls. Besh has a low wisdom and this is not a particularly high-stakes fight. Nobody wants to feel foolish but I'll roll with what we have. Worry not, I do not expect permadeath as a result of this encounter.
And the game is very hazy on how much you know about baddies per roll. A 16 would certainly tell you they're demons, and maybe you know all of the immunities maybe not But it's not unambiguously high enough so that you'd 100% know about poison immunity.
Also more fun for me. ;)

Antitoxin
Source PRG:CRB
If you drink a vial of antitoxin, you get a +5 alchemical bonus on Fortitude saving throws against poison for 1 hour.
Saphren
Besh did everything right (except not listening to the rogue. :P). He rolled his knowledge planes and he attacked. No issues. Well he did try to dismiss it but that rule is confusing. Glad he now knows that that (D) stands for. He needs to know that as a caster. :)
My point was that there are characteristics that are common to demons, devils, elementals, undead, etc. To know that you can't crit an elemental should a more common thing than to know fire elemenals can set you on fire. The DC to know the general thing that demons are immune to poison should be lower that to know specific things about this demon. No comment on what those DCs should be.
BUT Saphren is still not going into the cloud. It means he can only see 5', will get no sneak attack, and has to save versus one of the worst conditions in the game every round he is in the cloud. He still remembers how much that sucked when we fought the dretch team.

It's been kinda hectic, but if Saphren isn't making an action then I think we've all gone this round.
Saphren
That works for me. Leave Saphren delayed. As a reluctant hero he would go in to save someone; especially Brenna who is is fond of but he would certainly complain about it. :)
Saphren
Just don't forget the +5 to poison gory saves if you drank the anti-toxin. I think you would have mAde the first save and then the Bard song would still be up.
GM SpiderBeard
Hey guys, so ooc talk is high in the main thread and actions are low. Take a bit to strategise if necessary here.
Also, since the babau are using reach weapons their miss was 50%. Checking against that, Brenna has not taking damage yet.
Beshtori Sankral
Couldn't Brenna Bull Rush the babau out of the cloud, or at the very least, just leave it on the other side of the one she's fighting?
GM SpiderBeard
Waiting on some stuff from Lyr and Zoso, but further to what Besh said - there's no attacks of opportunity in the cloud due to miss chance. So you can move as you wish.

Sorry for the silence, killer few days of meetings. Zoso can only offer a reroll to Brenna on Saves, though it's a poor use of the performances. I agree with Besh on the bullrush idea.
With Perception +0, I basically can't make the DC20 to attack them. So delay and no action until it dissipates or someone becomes visible.
Beshtori Sankral
The 'Improved' version is just to avoid the AoO, no? Or you could just use the overrun.
I guess it depends on if you want to move out of the cloud yourself, or take the babau with you. It doesn't seem to make sense for Brenna to stay in there, at any rate.

I think we all are essentially delaying until this clears?
Lyr Scarheart
That was my original plan. Unless they follow you out, that should give Brenna time to get healed up.
Beshtori Sankral
Brenna took Enlarge Person, I believe.
Anyone else need buffs from Besh?
(Mage Armour should still be in effect, depending how long we are resting)
Zoso Cendele'tiqile

Just Haste IF things go bad...
Yup, Cat's Grace on Lyr and myself right before we went in. 7 minutes should be more than enough to see if this goes up or down...
If Mage armor is being offered I'll take a tap Besh, thanks.
Lyr Scarheart
Here's Lyr's buff list-
Findeladlara's Blessing
Antitoxin
Protection From Evil
Daybreak Arrow
Cat's Grace
Resist Energy
Haste (pending)
Brenna and Besh will also get Resist Energy from me.
Beshtori Sankral
Besh can boop everyone with Prot v Evil just before we go in (I hate how short the duration is though...)
Beshtori Sankral
I can't believe I'm going to say this right when we are about to take on a dragon, but I will be camping for the next week and won't have internet access :(
Saphren
Hmm. Since you are one of the three protected from Acid we certainly need you here. I am thinking Saphren will hang back and shoot his hand crossbow since he has no such protection. Especially since you have as many hit points as Saphren.
GM SpiderBeard
Next time let's be a little speedier on what buffs you use. It took an entire week to figure this out. Anyways, dragon time.
GM SpiderBeard
As a note I've changed from google draw to google slide (basically powerpoint) - it should read better on tablet and lets me host several maps and useful information in one spot. Link is updated. Same features, just with uh, slides.
GM SpiderBeard
Hey guys, sorry for not posting for the last couple of days.
I'd like to take a break from PBP GMing for a couple of weeks. (I am NOT quitting). I've been going hard at a number of games for a few years now. I've been short on time, missing posts, and have more players missing posts than usual in most games.
So with that said I will take a summer vacation from PbP game mastering, and return on August 28th. See you guys then! I'll check discussion threads in the meantime and if you're in a situation where you can freely RP with each other, please do so.
Lyr Scarheart
Take your time. We will be here when you're ready to jump back into it.
Thanks for all the work you've done.

Sounds good! And no worries, we all need breaks.
Saphren
Welcome Back!
I leave tomorrow. :)
I am going TDY for a few day for work and then directly to Dragon Con. I'll have my laptop and will try to keep up through Thursday but after that my time will likely be eaten by the con. Will be home late Monday September 4.
GM SpiderBeard
Oh yeah all is well. Nothing was wrong. I was just burned out and thought I'd take advantage of the summer slowdown ;)
GM SpiderBeard
Okay, let's take a minute aside here.
I need you guys to move your own tokens or if you want me to move them, explicitly explain the path you are taking.
On overrun, Brenna did not exceed the dragon's CMD by five, so it is not prone.
On Saphren's positioning - can you tell me where he should be? I don't recall if I moved him or if I just went off of where you were standing. If so, we can reposition him and Brenna can eat the full attack action instead.
Saphren
You did move Saphren. I was unsure if the map was right at the time and was not sure where to move him. When I last looked at it Brenna had not been moved either. And now I am not sure how far you moved him so am not sure if he had any move left to move back away. :( Heck, looking at the map I am not sure he had the move to get to the dragon to attack it, especially if going up stairs.
If he did attack, the attack should have been at +2 for flank, or a 23. Would that have hit? He certainly would not have moved adjacent to the dragon if he could not attack.
Sorry for the confusion. It was party caused by my being gone a week.
Looking at the map I honestly believe that neither Saphren or Brenna had the move to get to where they are and still attack. I do not think either of us could have charged there. Steps are difficult terrain and double move to get up, right?
Lyr Scarheart
I've noticed that apple devices dont play nice with a lot of multi user interactive pages. I'm not sure why, but it's a pain in the butt.
GM SpiderBeard
The haste bonus to movement was enough to get you in range, although I hand-waved the stairs. Saphren got in since the dragon used its AoO on Brenna.
Understanding how the field is laid out and that dragons hurt, how do you want this resolved? I can for example say you have readied actions on the ground waiting for the dragon to move in, or Saphren just stays out of melee range and attacks next round.
