"That's a good question, Ralph, but I am afraid that I don't know the answer. There are powerful defenses there... all that I really know is that you will be slightly out of phase. They don't let folks like us study the effect, so I cannot tell you more.

With this, she approaches the portal and sets to work, soon tearing a lightless hole in its undulating, glowing- ed surface. A bone-numbing blast of frigid energy shoots from the rift, and everyone is pulled towards the rift! All four members of the party are being pulled into the rift!

An inhuman shrieking emanates from the rift. Eliza tries to yell something to you all as she steps into the rift, though her message is wholly unintelligible, overpowered by the shrieking of the void. Seconds later she vanishes into the blackness, just before the party succumbs to the pull!

You are buffeted around in total darkness for what seems like hours, but is probably only minutes. Then, the darkness thins only slightly, ebbing into a deep, blackish- purple twilight. The surrounding space appears without clear definition or form. Distance is diffocult to judge, though there appears to be some sort of a perimeter marked by darker, shadowed arches.

Dim light fills the chamber from an unknown source. Within the foyer, all occupants appear as medium-sized silhouettes without distinctions of body shape, gender, voice, or even wielded equipment. You cannot recognize each other, but there are five of you as expected.

So, to make this room work, you will need to only your actions on your individual maps. You may move your meeples where you would like to be, and will describe what you are doing and saying. I will then post on this gameday thread and update your personal maps once I have everybody's actions. This may slow things down, but it is the best way to handle it. Everyone should post what they are doing...

No need to note you've posted. I'll be checking at least a few times a day.

Blue pulls something out of his pack, does something with it, and lets a couple of things fall to the floor.

Yellow then says in an eerie voice that none of you recognize, "Huh. Well, you weren’t kidding about being insubstantial." He then moves to look at one of the arches.

Vampire moves to the west, looking around.

Camo moves up to the pedestal, looking at what is in there. "It is trapped!" it calls out.

Werewolf casts a spell, and rises to the 10' ceiling. He calls out, Identify yourselves by name and a simple description. I am Fargle Garble. Make yourselves known quickly, 'ere I burn the lot of you!"

From out of the archway to the east, another individual comes out, and flies up to werewolf's height. It swings a blurry appendage/weapon at the werewolf, striking it.

End of turn... Look to your cards to see if you are up

Note: the room is entirely in dim light

Yellow yells out, "“Halfling, stabby knives! Alcoves are trapped!” and moves up to the bowl carefully looking around it. Yellow then reaches into the bowl, grabbing something from within.

The vampire moves across the room, to grab at the floating figure who attacked the area above where the werewolf was (as he went invisible) He yells, "Ugly sonafab#!%*, and really angry right now…"

He grabs at the shadowy figure, but he missed it.

"“What an interesting development. I believe that will suffice for identifications, though the magic of this room prevents us from identifying ourselves by name. It seems our Captain is either missing or has gone insane. I would suggest refraining from killing that one before we ascertain her identity.” says the werewolf, who seems to be waiting for something.

Yellow takes the thing he pulled out of the basin, and flings it in the air. It starts whirling around his head, and you now can tell that it is actually Auris!

A new shadowy creature comes into the room... it turns its rear towards the group of you. It seems to lift a leg, then even grab its own ass as if to spread the cheeks more, and then lets out a HUGE cloud of noxious fumes towards you.

Though you are pretty sure that this thing is not completely real, both Auris and Ralph are affected by the noxious fumes. Luckily for them, they make their saves (this time), but its stinging fumes still affect them (a stinking cloud). Koraq and Géatan are unaffected by the fumes, but can still see the creature there. From out of the darkness, a new figure steps out, and swings up in the air (where Ralph is casting his spell). The first swing seems like it hit something, but Ralph continues to cast. The second swing also connects, though the crafty wizard still manages to keep his spell going. The third swing, however, goes through thin air. The construction worker then switches to his off hand, and, again, his first strike hits, this in a vital area (which, considering Ralph is floating 5' off the floor, is probably pretty vital), causing the Spell Sage to cry out in pain, which interrupts his spell. One more blow strikes the wizard, and a final strike goes through thin air once more.

Ralph withdraws from the attacker for now, wondering how he managed to get so close without him noticing.

Withdraw action. I'll let Geatan and Koraq finish him off.

@GM: So Pirate, I punched through and is thus not really there just an illusion? Want to make sure I understand what is happening :)

Sorry about the delay... was a busy three day weekend, and I should have warned you.

Géatan, yes, you'll need concealment checks, which I will do below

Koraq, yes, you attacked the pirate, "hit" it, (which gave you a WILL save against the illusion since you interacted with it). You (and only you) are sure that it is not really there... just an illusion.

Géatan Attack 1 >51 hits: 1d100 ⇒ 98
Géatan Attack 2 >51 hits: 1d100 ⇒ 68
Géatan Attack 3 >51 hits: 1d100 ⇒ 73
Géatan Attack 4 >51 hits: 1d100 ⇒ 70

All four of Géatan's arrows hit the target in the darkness. There is the sound of pain, and the target slumps to the group, and the sound of two blades bouncing off the ground.

Combat is over now... no more targets are left except for the illusion, which is now easily ignored.

Pushing a little...

Also, can you please note down your skills and such on slide #2. Will help me speed things up a bit when I am searching for skills and the like.

GM:

Ralph arcana: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (5) + 28 = 33
Ralph arcana: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (20) + 28 = 48

You all can now clearly see a clear passage to the north. You also have determined that the the eastern and western passages are somewhat different than the other fourteen alcoves. Looking into them, you can see a glowing rune in each of the alcoves.

Auris can no longer detect the trap on the northern 10' wide corridor that he did before, though.

Ralph:
The crystal figurines as minor artifact ioun stones called eraminho stones. Similar in function to a trap the soul or soul bind spell, they are relics of ancient Azlant crafted to house and protect souls for long periods of time, and when activated, the enclosed soul can impart knowledge and insight to the wearer. Traditionally, they are crafted to provide individuals with a contingency for completing a task or an obligation after death, provided they have a mortal willing to act on their behalf.

As for the alcoves, you believe that they are portals tied to a single individual, and are likely inoperable by others. The four on the southern wall, with the blue runes, do seem to be operable by others, though, but will likely need two individuals to trigger them.

"Well, that was... annoying. You need to get patched up?", Koraq holding a black-tipped wand towards Ralph.

"Clever guy, whatever he was. Crazy too, jumping us like that." Auris walks towards the northern passage. "There was a trap here, but either it's inactive or these things are more useful than we knew." He hooks his thumb at the eramino stone circling his head.

"Well, I could drag his carcass over here...", Koraq nonchalantly heading to where Geatan fired his arrows.

Ralph takes out his wand of infernal healing and begins healing himself.

"I am a little more concerned about what happened to Eliza. At first I thought that we had all been sent to different rooms. Now it seems that it was just Eliza who was separated from us. No matter, we must push on."

Ralph concentrates on his eraminho stone to see if he can detect or contact any soul within.
