Torgat Eaglecaller
|
Are the smaller dark squares (at the points where 4 squares) meet columns?
Remembering why they're in the warehouse to begin with, Torgat moves to the edge of the area where the scroll indicated the stolen artifact should be and scans it frantically through the billowing smoke.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
Torgat’s perception is obviously not good. He can stay and aid someone with a better modifier, or run back and at least try to slow the spread of the fire (with his equally abysmal survival modifier) while those better suited to the job find the macguffin.
Trex - Compsognathus

The little dinosaur nudges his wizard with his nose, giving him a bit of divine guidance from Jaidz for whatever Torgat might do next.
GM Silbeg
|
Yes, the small dark squares are columns.
Torgat and his dino move up, but they are not able to see the keg from where they are. However, it does look like there is a path around the pile ahead of him.
Darven Aulamaxa
|
Knowing that he wouldn't actually be of much help putting out fires, Darven double moves, hoping to find the keg before the whole building goes up in flames.
Garekk
|
Garekk steps into the warehouse behind everyone else, keeping his eyes peeled for the keg. As he goes to move into the room, someone trips a wire and suddenly the whole room bursts into pockets of flame!
Garekk jumps into action, looking to try and find the keg before the whole place goes up!
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Meiomi
|
FINE, let it all burn down. Where in tarnation did they hide that keg! Meiomi grouses as she moves, mumbling I used to be a firefighter, lost my skills I have! Letting a beautiful warehouse just go up in flames....
Meiomi perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 +1 vs traps
GM Silbeg
|
At this point, four of the Pathfinders are looking at the same pile of crates, but they cannot see anything from this side,
Note: Meiomi, you were not up yet. I have moved her back to where she was... you should retcon based on what happens.
As the team starts in, the fires continue to spread. Luckily Kinshasa had doused some of the flames, though perhaps not enough long term?
4d9 ⇒ (8, 5, 4, 4) = 21
1d6 ⇒ 61d4 ⇒ 11d4 ⇒ 21d3 ⇒ 3
Unfortunately for Meiomi, the fire spreads into her!
New consequence/rule... if you start your turn in a square that is on fire, you will need to make a DC15 reflex save or catch fire. If you do, you take 1d6 fire damage, per turn, until you put it out! This also happens if you move through a square that is on fire!
Kinshasa also notices that the fire he just put out has started up once more!
Kinshasa, Garekk, Torgat, Meiomi, and Darven is/are up!

You only moved about 40' of your 60'. Moving you 20' more.
Darven moves in, and clearly sees a large keg sitting on top of a metal footlocker. The keg, of couse, looks exactly like the keg you were transporting, and is back to full sized (3'x4').
As a reminder, it is 75#, and requires both hands to move. While doing so, you will be flatfooted.

GM Silbeg
|
Characters at risk of catching fire are allowed a DC 15 Reflex save to avoid this fate. If a character’s clothes or hair catch fire, he takes 1d6 points of damage immediately. In each subsequent round, the burning character must make another Reflex saving throw. Failure means he takes another 1d6 points of damage that round. Success means that the fire has gone out—that is, once he succeeds on his saving throw, he’s no longer on fire.
A character on fire may automatically extinguish the flames by jumping into enough water to douse himself. If no body of water is at hand, rolling on the ground or smothering the fire with cloaks or the like permits the character another save with a +4 bonus.
So, Meiomi will get a +4 to her reflex save next round
Just waiting for Garekk!
Garekk
|
Assuming Darvin would call out his success
Garekk continues to run into the building, even as Meiomi's screams reach up to him from through the smoke. He is very concerned, but will check on her on the way out of the building. Darvin's calls bring him around the corner of a stack of crates where the keg sits.
"I will get this.. you cover me out. Meiomi is already hurt, I heard her screaming about the fire. We have to get out of here!!"

Darven grabs the footlocker and attempts to throw it as far as possible toward the exit.
Go ahead and roll whatever you feel is appropriate GM Silbeg.
"If you're coughing from the smoke now, better get out and clear you lungs before coming back in." he says before holding his breath.
GM Silbeg

When Darven lifts the footlocker, he realizes that it is quite heavy... at least 100 pounds! He realizes immediately that there is no way that he can throw the thing.
You can either drop it, set it down, or move (you'll be at heavy encumbrance)

Kinshasa retreats out of the warehouse as the smoke gets thicker. double move. Is Meiomi outside too?
Trex - Compsognathus

Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
My apologies if I’m overreaching with what Trex can do - it’s my first time playing a character with a pet, let alone an intelligent pet.
Perhaps because he is so low to the ground, Trex has no trouble with the smoke. As Torgat doubles over coughing, Trex tears back through the flaming warehouse (double move) towards the double doors where the party entered, looking for help.
By my count, Trex has enough speed with a double move to get to Meiomi and Kinshasa, barely, but only if the door is still open.
Darven Aulamaxa
|
Darven gives up on the footlocker, figuring that the loot inside likely isn't worth the trouble, but the keg likely is. He drops the locker and picks up the keg, beginning the haul out of the burning building as fast as he can, even if it means going through spaces containing fire. He tries to hold his breath the entire time.
Every turn from this point will likely just be Darven trying to carry the keg out of the building as quickly as he can.
GM Silbeg
|
Perfectly fine use of a familiar... they are more intelligent than a mount or animal companion. The door is open. Honestly, he is smart enough that he could even try to drag Torgat around, on later rounds.
Darven switches to the keg, since that is their primary reason for being there.
The fires continue to spread, and it gets even worse in the warehouse!

Darven is holding his breath and shouldn't need to make saves until his breath runs out. I suppose that means my raging song ends, so subtract the bonus 2 dexterity to anyone that accepted it before. I should be good for at least 16, or 15 rounds now.
GM Silbeg
|
Based on the situation, I will give a +2 circumstance bonus for holding your breath. There other factors in a burning building. I have conferred with a couple of other GMs on this, and we all agree this is fair. Unfortunately, this round, Darven fails his save still.
Torgat Eaglecaller
|
Thanks, Silbeg - it might still come to that! Meantime, I’ll take that circumstance bonus.
Torgat manages to find a pocket of clean air. After a final hacking cough, he takes a deep breath and holds it, then runs through the maze of stacked crates and barrels to the barred set of double doors, hoping he can get them open to let in help (in the form of Meiomi and Kinshasa) before he succumbs to the smoke again.
Could we use the donkey cart - or the abandoned cart we saw in the yard - to move the keg and anything else that might be worth saving? One problem at a time! How do I get this bar off the door?
It took a double move to get to the doors, so I assume Torgat will need to wait until next round (or his next successful save) to take the bar off the doors? He will open them as quickly as he can, whenever that is.
Darven Aulamaxa
|
I'm fine with the +2, holding your breath in pathfinder is really quite crazy!
Kinshasa

Edit. The cart and Kokina were off to the side a little so I thought I could get her through the gap. Ret-con to open the way
Kinshasa moves up closer to the cart and calls the donkey to him.

Keep careful hold on that donkey. As the flames get closer, it's going to get squirrely! Meiomi, looking extremely disheveled with singed hair and clothes covered in leaves in dirt, heads over to the donkey. Maybe he should be a little bit away from the doors, in case they open differently. We wouldn't want to trap our friends!
GM Silbeg

The donkey moves out of the way, moving the cart.
What exactly is Meiomi doing?
What is Kokina doing?

Now that the cart is moved I would like her to try to bust the door open. I am out today so putting 2 spoilers below. Please use whichever is most appropriate.
