Tyranius managed to deal a glancing blow to the Yeth Hound - its tough hide seemed to resist the damage, and you'd have to find some way around that to truly hurt it. Tanwen's blow was... less than successful, and she looked like she was going to have trouble striking the woman for a little while. (The dog had no such protection.)
The spirit, on the other hand, managed to push past the barrier and fire another bolt into the oddly beautiful woman. She stepped back a moment later, and a cloud of obscuring mist came out of her holy symbol, filling the back half of the room (and concealing her within it). The dog, meanwhile, lashed out at Tyranius-

The bolt from Shalluk's summoned companion shot into the hound (accurately enough - not amazingly so, but easily accurate enough to hit), although it didn't do a great deal of damage. Tyranius lashed out a moment later, his blade digging deep into the creature. It wasn't enough to drop the creature, but it was definitely enough to hurt it, and Tanwen came into support the attacks a moment later. Fire, incidentally, seemed perfectly capable of hurting it... and after that blow, it was badly wounded. One more solid strike, like the one Tanwen had just delivered, would probably be enough to drop it. It wasn't dead yet, though, and whirled at Tanwen to try and savage her.

For just a moment, it looked like Tanwen was going to drop the woman - but she twisted out of the way at the last moment, the concealing fog allowing her to avoid the attack. (And it didn't seem to be slowing her down at all - was there some effect that allowed her to see past it?) It was a good thing for her, too - Tanwen's blow definitely would have taken her down otherwise, and she let out a savage howl as she swung her weapon around at Tanwen.

Shalluk |

Eyes wide, Shalluk whimpered at both the pain and the dramatic loss of blood that his body was now experiencing. For a moment Shalluk remembered all the other times - all the other beatings, all the times he'd left a town bleeding and crying and only one step ahead of a mob that had a noose for his neck. All the times he'd been forced to turn his own healing magics on himself. Magics he had depleted...
Shalluk remembered the people he'd met in Sandpoint that had accepted him, the people who worked with him, bringing him to this point. A point where it looked like he might die, it had to said...but he couldn't remember a time when he'd been happier, more accepted.
He remembered hiding in the woods, the mountains, hoping to avoid everyone, living without the pain of rejection or the beatings. But it had been existing, not living.
It hadn't been worth it.
With a groan Shalluk staggered back a few steps, mumbling in Aklo, giving himself the limited space he needed to recock the crossbow and raise it to open fire once more. If he was going to die, he was going to do it proving every comment about his blood wrong, every harsh word wrong, every kick and blow unjustified.

Tyranius flounders about in the thick mist. Where the hells did she go? Shalluk is that you?

GM Rednal |
Shalluk would die as a hero - or live as one. The latter actually seemed rather more likely now - with the final bolt, the woman's body crumpled as the mist she'd conjured up dispersed. She wasn't quite dead yet, but unless someone healed her, it was only a matter of time before she finished bleeding out.

Tanwen Anwyl |

"Do not allow her to escape into death." Tanwen speaks up seeing the woman as she falls. "Sandpoint will want justice to be served for the events that transpired, if she is responsible, even in the slightest. Then she should face judgement for her crimes." Tanwen knew that had it been her family that had been harmed in the attacks, she would want justice to be served to those responsible, so it was the responsibility of herself and her compatriots to make sure that justice could be served. "If you can stop her from bleeding to death, I'll bind her, it wouldn't be my first time tying someone up...Though it might be the first time the other person was unconscious."

Shalluk |

Gasping in relief, Shalluk slumped to one knee. With a mindless reaction born of years of training he reloaded and rearmed the crossbow, checking it for battle damage and marks as he did. Then he glanced at the dying woman. A woman dying in large part to his own hands. Shalluk looked away. It was what had to be done, but he took no pride in the fact. He knew what it was like to not belong with people. He had simply never grown bitter, as this woman had.

Shalluk looked at the woman. He wasn't sure that leaving her, or putting a bolt through her skull, were not the more merciful options than letting her awaken to failure and capture...but the others wished her alive, and he had no stomach for killing the helpless. He cast Stabilize, although he had no intention of helping her recover further or gain conciousness until well after they were gone.
He used the rope in his pack to fashion bonds for her hands, passing them to Tyranius in place of the cloth ones he had made, as well as gagging her. He also made sure her fingers were tied into a shape that would not allow spell casting.
Once she was bound, Shalluk removed her equipment as best he could, taking pains to search for any holy symbols the woman might have and destroying them. He had no wish to see what magic she could call, and even removing her ability to move her hands, speak or use a holy symbol might not be enough. He gestured for Tanwen to search her more thoroughly in the areas a man truly should not search a female prisoner.
The woman scared Shalluk. He did not want her to escape.

Shalluk |

Shalluk nodded his thanks to Tyranius for the healing, although as usual he felt queasy from the healing. He wondered if it was his heritage that made him feel so...
"With her capture, I believe the Goblin threat is broken." Shalluk glanced down at the woman, wondering what her fate would be. "If we can withdraw for the day, we can return on the morrow to finish searching this place."

Tanwen Anwyl |

"That is likely the case, I doubt the goblins could organize like this on their own. We have likely prevented the attack for now." Tanwen said agreeing. "I worry what might happen if we leave and come back, but it's probably more important to get this one under proper supervision." She added in reference to the woman.
Tanwen then holds up the woman's medallion. "This item seems quite useful, I believe one of us should make some use of it. It can allow us to gain temporary health and increases resilience against a manner of things. If no one else is interested in it, I could make some use of it."
Tanwen is probably in the most need of the +1 to saves right now, having the lowest reflex and will saves in the group (though she has the highest fort, tied with Tyranius against non disease/poison). I have no need for the other items we found with the woman so I'm fine with selling the rest unless someone needs something.

Shalluk |

Tanwen can grab it, sure. No objection from me.
Shalluk nodded that he had no objection to the idea of Tanwen taking the item. "If we are done, I shall transport us all back to town..."
Unless someone objected, Shalluk would use his Astral Caravan ability to take the party and the prisoner back to outskirts of town.

![]() |

Same. no objections here. I can't really use much else that is there but we can sell it for some good gold.
It would be nice to get back and get some rest after dealing with these inane goblins. Tyranius says as he puts his weapons back into their sheaths and gathers up the woman and equipment that was on her into his pack.

...Also, in case it wasn't obvious, the medallion is a neck-slot item. XD
Exactly one hour after you'd left - thanks to some quirk of Shalluk's power that nobody could adequately explain - the three of you were safely about 200 feet outside the gates of the town. The unconscious woman had been carried the whole time, and hadn't stirred, but she'd probably wake up before too much more time had passed as her body naturally healed.

Shalluk |

After checking her bonds once more, Shalluk carried the woman to the Sherriff's office. He hoped they would be able to hold the woman until she could be tried.
