Mira Stagsdottir |

Mira woke up at the crack of dawn and crawled out from beneath the bed in the room she had to herself. She had tried her best to sleep on top of it, but it was too soft and too exposed for her tastes. The blanket, on the other hand was quite nice she thought as she tossed it back atop the bed.
As soon as she could she snuck out to the stables to check up on Andoril. She spent a few minutes there talking with him quietly, discussing the previous days events before patting him on the side and heading in to find the others.
She sat down at the table to eat her breakfast and talked in between spoonfuls of the soup that had been prepared. "You wanted to go get some gear today also, right Shalluk?" she asked Shalluk as she broke off a piece of bread to dip in the bowl. "Do you think there'll be more trouble today? I wonder if the goblins will return." she added, distracted from the discussion of equipment by the thought of more raiders. "This time Andoril will be right here, he's pretty good at fighting!"

Shalluk |

Redressed in his armour and robes, his crossbow once more hooked on his belt, Shalluk moved downstairs in high spirits. His wounds were gone, for the most part, and he had slept well in good, clean bed he didn't have to share and hadn't felt like someone was going to come and kick him out at any moment. This was an infinite improvement over most of his stays...well, anywhere.
As he entered the common room, he looked around for people he knew. And to see where breakfast was. Once he had eaten he would go and buy the supplies he needed.

Tanwen Anwyl |

The night had been quiet, a welcomed change from the busy day which had seen Tanwen go from enjoying the festival to defending the town in which she had lived all of her life. The fiery Chelish girl didn't even realize how tired she was until she landed on the bed, falling asleep without even changing out of her dirty clothes from the long day, or taking off her armor.
Although Tanwen had managed to hold her own quite well against the goblins, she had had a long day, and by the time the sun had risen, Tanwen did not get out of her bed right away. As the sun creaked in through her window, Tanwen only closed her eyes more firmly, trying to block out the sunlight by willpower alone. But the sun could not be stopped as it shone so brightly, perhaps if she had thought about this before hand, Tanwen would have asked for a room which faced to the west, or have at least closed the window, though she remembered that she had kept the window open so that she might hear if goblins came to attack the town again while she slept.
An hour after sunrise, Tanwen gave up and decided to crawl out of bed, though still feeling tired, she thought it would be a good time now for that bath, letting Bethana know that she wished to have a hot bath, as hot as the halfling could possibly make it, though ultimately the bath water felt lukewarm to the Chelish girl, though it may have been scalding hot to others.
After a nice relaxing bath, in which Tanwen nearly fell asleep again in, Tanwen put her clothes, the same ones she had worn the previous day - not that Tanwen had an issue with wearing the same clothes two days in a row, such a thing was often an occurrence in her line of work - and then put her armor back on before arriving in the common room of the Rusty Dragon, seeing Mira and Shalluk already there she walked over with a smile on her face. "I hope you two weren't waiting for me terribly long."

Mira Stagsdottir |

Mira shook her head in answer as she devoured seconds of breakfast. When finished she wiped her mouth and sat up, waiting patiently for the others to finish. "We should go get stuff now. Did you need to get anything Tanwen?"

GM Rednal |
Apparently not. On the bright side, the streets of the town are looking more lively than they did yesterday evening - if not quite as excited as they were during the festival itself, but that wouldn't be a very fair comparison. A few people watch Mira throughout the day, and are often whispering quietly as she passes - more than those who are watching Shalluk or worrying about his behavior, though at least the watchers don't seem hostile.

Shalluk |

Shalluk noticed the number of people watching him, and quailed inside. He did not like so many people paying attention to him, even if more seemed to be watching Mira. He felt anxious, causing him to withdraw into the hood of his cloak while trying not to be obvious. As if a tall Tiefling with a crossbow worth more than some of the buildings he passed would go easily unnoticed...
Heading to the weapon shop, Shalluk took a moment to collect himself beore heading to the counter. He slipped a piece of paper onto the counter top. "This is a list of what I require. After yesterday I am low on ammunition, and would like some new types. Is there any problem with any of these?"
100 repeater crossbow bolts - 20gp
25 Blunt Head Bolts (Deals Bludgeoning rather than Piercing Damage) 10gp
5 Dye Bolts (No damage, touch attack, coats target in a cooloured dye) 10gp
20 Silversheen Bolts - 12gp
Total - 52gp

Tanwen Anwyl |

Feeling her coin pouch, Tanwen knew that she could not afford to obtain much of anything if she decided to go shopping, at least not with money. She could think of a few things that would likely be needed, potions and other forms of healing being at the top of the list after what happened to Mira, twice, but knew that 18 gold wouldn't be enough for those things.
"I'm fine, I do not need to do much in terms of shopping." Tanwen said, before adding "You two go ahead and do the shopping you need, we can meet back here in awhile, so that we can meet with that man who wanted to reward us."

GM Rednal |
The woman behind the counter - a rather nice lady by the name of Savah Bevaniky - ran a finger down the list. "I'll need to talk with Das and Ven about these dye bolts - they'll need to be made special. Everything else is in stock. If you're looking for a better crossbow, though..." she glanced to the side, where a repeating crossbow with a darkwood and ivory stock rested against the wall. "Ah, probably a bit much right now." she mused a moment later, turning back to Shalluk. "If you get rich with that hero work, though, I'll give you a good deal on Vansaya." she added. "Thing like that ought to be in the hands of someone who'll use it properly."

Shalluk |

Shalluk glanced over at the the weapon. It was almost certainly too expensive for him, even with his hidden reserve of gold, but a beautiful weapon. Still, he felt a distinct desire to remain with his own weapon, rather than trusting in the newer. Was that just the voice of the child, hanging on to what was left of his mother, however? He had no idea. He would have to consider it when he could. For now, the weapon was beyond his reach anyway.
"Thank you for the offer," he replied. "We shall have to see if such funds are what is in fate for me first, of course. I'm not really sure it qualifies as hero work, fighting off some Goblins. I think in the tales you usually need to at least fight a dragon and live before you get to claim the title." The truth was that Shalluk wasn't especially clear on this tales himself these days. He hadn't heard many since he was a child. But he definitely didn't remember any heroic Goblin Slayers...
The lanky Tiefling nodded towards the list. "I will pay for the bolts, including the dye ones, now. Once the dye ones have been completed could you send word to the Rusty Dragon? I am currently taking rooms there. My name is Shalluk." Digging the coins from his pouch, he sighed slightly as the sight of the gold being slid across the counter. Still, he needed those bolts more than the gold - the bolts would keep him alive.

GM Rednal |
The shopkeeper nodded as she took the coins and slid across the required items, laying them out neatly on the counter so Shalluk could easily verify that he was getting the correct number of each. She checked the paper more than once just to be sure, and waved him out with a smile once he were finished. "You come on back if you need anything else!" she called.

GM Rednal |
Not long after Shalluk had made his purchases, Aldern walked up to Mira, smiling widely. "Good morning, my savior! Please tell me that the night treated you well and there were no great troubles - I shall be most cross at the Town Guard if they failed to rally during the darkened hours!" That was... probably a greeting of some kind? He looked more than slightly eager, however, and gleefully rubbed his hands together. "I dare say this hunt shall be a fine one..."

Shalluk |

Shalluk was glad for the hood he always wore, since he imagined his face was a picture. Inviting Mira to a hunt? It...did not seem too likely to fit, but then, he barely knew the woman. Perhaps being as close to nature as someone with a large Elk for a companion was likely to be included the hunt, at least for food. The Tiefling tried to recall if she had mentioned anything about eating meat the day before.

GM Rednal |
Mira, however, didn't seem very interested in the hunt - and after a time, excused herself from the conversation and vanished into the crowd, leaving a bemused-looking Aldern behind. He didn't seem entirely happy, but when you returned later in the day, the Innkeeper passed over two sacks of coins, each containing 50 GP. "He wanted you to have these for saving him." Ameiko explained, though she did seem just a bit worried still.
That evening, the doors to the Inn were slammed open as a sullen-looking man barged in, shouting something in a foreign tongue. The other patrons instantly grew very interested in their food, keeping their heads down and not looking up as the man strode in like he owned the place. "Ameiko! GET OUT HERE, YOU WRETCHED DAUGHTER!"

Tanwen Anwyl |

Tanwen could not help but notice the reactions of those around here to the newcomer. She knew that such a behavior would never be tolerated in her own line of business, but she quickly took note that no one seemed willing to confront the belligerent man.
"Sir, this is a place of business, and while I know not what sort of business you might have with Ameiko, I highly suggest that you change your tone, at the very least while in the presence of others." Tandem addressed the man as she stood up, seeing as no one else around seemed interested in taking the man on and that the facility seemed to lack a bouncer.

Cale Vatay |

hey guys, I just wanted to dot the page with what will be my profile, he's an elven spelless ranger/magus (spider hawk) with a panther companion, he uses magic and a pair of swords to fight evil
He was defending the town in another location and did not meat up with the party later as he weant out and chased off the remaining goblins and tried to see which way they ran to.

Shalluk |

"We assure you, sir, no one was injured by our hand who was not a Goblin," Shalluk replied, his irritation rising. He was proud of his actions the previous day, and did not like it being implied that he had led to more harm than was needed. As far as he was concerned he had saved lives, the old man's possibly among them.
"I am sure your daughter will be with you in moments," he added, "But this is her place of business, and since it is very succesful she is likely quite busy. If it is not a family matter, perhaps we can help?"

Tanwen Anwyl |

"I have never hurt someone who didn't deserve it." Tanwen says pausing for a moment before adding, "Or who didn't specifically request it, and they certainly were far from innocent." She assumed that the man knew about her line of business, though she also decided to add, "I don't encounter many innocents in my line of work I am afraid."

GM Rednal |
The man sucked in a deep breath to continue talking, but before he could manage it, Ameiko darted into the room with a ladle in one hand. "What the hell is go- oh. Father. What do you want?" Ameiko asked flatly.
"We're moving back to Magnimar. Either you come with me and get your act together or you're out of your inheritance." he snapped. "You've played at being a day laborer for long enough already." The other patrons didn't seem like they were interested in intervening, but there was no doubt whose side they were on as the tension in the room ratcheted steadily upwards.

Tanwen Anwyl |

"Played? Look around, she's not playing, she has done quite well for herself, this is one of the most successful taverns in Sandpoint." Tanwen could not help but utter, although the decision was ultimately Ameiko's, Tanwen knew that Ameiko's father was not going to take no for an answer.

Shalluk |

Shalluk glanced at Tanwen. People wanted to be beaten up? Maybe it was different when you weren't being chased by a mob, but Shalluk had never enjoyed even the more minor beatings he had received.
"This is obviously a family matter," the lanky Tiefling added. "Perhaps this should be conducted more privately?" He was reasonably sure, from what little he knew of Ameiko and her attitude to he father how this was going to go, but the middle of a common room was not the place to see a family feud begin.

GM Rednal |
Ameiko's father barked out something else, in the same strange language as before - and Ameiko replied in the same, speaking what even an outsider could tell was a rude reply. He darted forward a moment later, and the innkeeper swung around, dumping the contents of her ladle onto his head. He sputtered in outrage for a moment, then drew in a deep breath. "You're as dead to me as your mother." he spat out, striding out of the tavern.
A bit of moisture glimmered around her eyes, but she shook her head a bit. "Looks like I need to get another ladle - jack*** isn't on the menu." she said, brightening visibly as calls of agreement (and even a few cheers) filled the tavern. She glanced towards both Tanwen and Shalluk a moment later. "...Thanks for sticking up for me." she added.

Shalluk |

"I am not sure if it was 'sticking up' so much as trying to defuse things," Shalluk replied ruefully, "But your business is impressive and you obviously enjoy running it. It is sad your father cannot see that, but a lot of people cannot see beyond there pre-conceived notions."

Tanwen Anwyl |

"I am certain you would have done the same in another's case Ameiko." Tanwen said with a smile, of course she didn't really know Ameiko that well, so as far as what would have happened had it been someone else's father was entirely unknown to Tanwen.
If you don't mind my asking, why does your father want you to move back to Magnimar? Does it have something to do with the recent goblin activity?"

GM Rednal |
"Heck if I know." she said, sighing and shaking her head. "He's been increasingly fed up with this city and wants to move somewhere bigger - the goblins probably pushed him over the edge." It was quite clear that she wasn't impressed by his behavior, nor willing to let it dictate her actions. "Come on, let's fill those bellies." She made her way back into the kitchen, even as the sky continued to darken over Sandpoint.
The night itself was peaceful enough, but come morning, there was a nervous rapping at your doors.

Tanwen Anwyl |

Tanwen did not take kindly to others waking her up, in fact during puberty, she had nearly burned down her parents house a time or two when her parents had attempted to rouse her.
However, Tanwen had learned to control herself, at least to not melt down doors. "Who is it, and you better have a good reason." She spoke in a distasteful tone, not removing herself from the bed.

Shalluk |

Shalluk started awake and reached for his crossbow immediately. It took him several moments for him to remember where he was, and that if it was someone who meant him any harm it wasn't likely they would knock. Still, undressed as he was, he took the heavy weapon as he rose, padding across the floor barefoot and opening the door a crack. "Yes?" he asked inquiringly.

GM Rednal |
Standing out in the hall was an elderly female halfling - Bethana Corwin, one of the maids of the inn, and a worker you've seen bustling around the place. She's pale and sweating, but beckons to you and totters down towards one of the private rooms on the first floor. "I... I just don't know who else to turn to, not besides you and Master Cale." she stammered out, flipping a piece of paper over and over between her hands. Lack of height wasn't the only reason for her slowness - age, too, was a factor as she brought you into a room where an elf with a thin beard and reddish-blonde hair was waiting.

Cale Vatay |

Ha, Master Cale, I love it :D
The well dressed elf in red grins as they approach "well well well, it looks like the party has arrived, hope you lot had a pleasent sleep and all that"

Shalluk |

Glancing down, Shalluk gritted his teeth. He was not dressed for this. Or at all. Nudity didn't especially bother him, but he was very...red. On the other hand, the Halfling was already vanishing down the hallway.
Dropping his crossbow on the bed, Shalluk grabbed his small clothes from the neatly folded pile on a chair in the bed and wiggled into them, cursing slightly as he hoped from one foot to the other. At least somewhat decent he threw a robe over the top and followed as quickly as he could, wishing he could find something to hide his head before he followed.
He glanced over at the Elf - the Cale she had mentioned? - and nodded to his queery, while envying his fully clothed state. After a moment he asked, "What seems to be the problem?"

Cale Vatay |

The elf tries and fails to supress a laugh at the newcomer's state "not yet found that out myself, just was told yet needed the town heros and I accepted the call like a true hero would eh"

Tanwen Anwyl |

What could possibly be going on to have the halfling reacting like this? Tanwen could not help but wonder as she heard the pitterpat of little footsteps hurrying away. However, having just recently been sleeping, Tanwen's clothing wasn't exactly what one would refer to as social wear. Rather then her chain shirt, Tanwen wore clothes which to many people would be more embarrassing then plain nudity, but alas Tanwen had little time to change.
Thinking little of her appearance, Tanwen leaves her bed and quickly follows behind the halfling, until she finds herself in the room with the others.
Tanwen's current appearance truely left little to the imagination, small pieces of fabric barely covering the woman's breasts, yet the fiery woman remained as she always did despite her appearance. "So, why was it so important to gather us this early?"
I could go into more detail about Tanwen's clothing, but alas the forums are PG, so basically just imagine some sort of lingerie.

GM Rednal |
Bethana took a few deep breaths as she smoothed out the paper she was holding. "I-I woke up this morning, and realized that Lady Ameiko h-hadn't started breakfast." she explained nervously. "That was the f-first time in all my years here that she hadn't, so I went to c-check on her." she swallowed, her voice nearly as frail as her body. "B-but when I opened the door, a-against by better judgment, I found that she h-hadn't slept in her bed at all. And t-this note was lying by the side of the b-bed."
She placed down the piece of paper. The original note was written in a foreign language, but a translation - apparently written by Bethana herself - was on the back.

Shalluk |

Shalluk resisted the urge to flee as the mocking laughter rang in his ears, and in his memory. His hand instantly went for a hood that wasn't there and he grimaced before allowing it to drop again. Everything at him screamed to flee before the laughter turned to blows, but this time he refused. He was not just some Tiefling, and even nude he had power. And he was needed. Shalluk refused to be chased away by laughter, and felt odd and light headed as a result, but good.
Still, he wished he had his hood. He wished he had his clothes. Hells, he wished he had his crossbow. But at that moment all he had was a distressed Halfling, a distressing Elf, and Tanwen.
He glanced over at the women, surprised by her attire. Still, she seemed comfortable enough, and Shalluk himself really had no idea what ladies usually wore, so he simply nodded to her politely and looked over the paper.
"The meeting was at midnight, but she isn't back yet?" Shalluk tilted his head. As Bethana pointed out, that was hardly Ameiko. "Something seems amiss. Thank you for waking us, Miss. With a little luck I will certainly try to help." He didn't want to speak for Tanwen, nor for the Elf.

Cale Vatay |

"I'd love to have some more hero work to do" he looks the fire spawned lingerie clad beauty up and down "espically if the uh... Visual perks are this nice"

Tanwen Anwyl |

"Normally you would have to pay first before you see me like this, but Bethana here didn't exactly give me time to change." Tanwen commented with very little feeling at the elf's comment on her appearance.
"If Ameiko is in trouble, I will help her, if nothing else, she'll owe me one heck of a favor." A grin came to the woman's face as she imagined what she could have Ameiko do for her in return.

GM Rednal |
The half-blind old halfling didn't seem to have noticed - and she hadn't demanded that people follow her that instant, either. Their state of dress was their own concern if they didn't say things like "just a sec, let me put some clothes on"...
"Tsuto was always a b-bit of a scandal, you see." the old woman squeaked out. "He was born a year before Ameiko, and he's a half-elf, you see." she nodded a few times, her eyes wide. "Neither of Ameiko's parents have elven blood. Master Lonjiku's rage was the talk of the town for months, and his wife, Lady Atsuii, never revealed who Tsuto's father was. Lady Ameiko's father was stubborn, though, and refused to get divorced. Tsuto was handed over to the Turandarok Academy to be raised outside of the Kaijitsu family, ignored by his father and forbidden visits from his mother. Ameiko starting visiting him in secret once she learned about his existence at the age of 10, visiting him a few times a month to keep him company, bring him some food, and promise him that someday things would get all sorted out. That all changed in 4705, when they had a terrible argument in which Tsuto struck Ameiko. I d-don't know what the argument was about, but Ameiko left Sandpoint for a whole year, and made her living as an adventurer. She came back to attend her mother's funeral, though. Tsuto was quite public in his opinions that his father had pushed Atsuii off a cliff to her death, and during the funeral there was a confrontation. Master Lonjiku nearly broke Tsuto's jaw with his cane, after which Tsuto cursed him and left Sandpoint. Ameiko has tried to reestablish contact with him ever since, but was never able to track him down."
"I-I'm sure he's up to no good. Please, go to the Glassworks as soon as you can and find Lady Ameiko!" the old halfling woman begged.

Shalluk |

Shalluk glanced at the Elf with a frown. The had obviously been woken up, and now this...person was ogling Tanwen? Shalluk found his anger, long forgotten, rising. So far, the Elf had managed to do just about everything to insult the lanky Tiefling.
Still, they had more important thing to deal with than a rude, lecherous Elf. If he had any skill with a weapon then he might make a difference in finding out what happened to Ameiko, especially if there was a problem of the Goblins had attacked. He glanced over at the Elf. "We will go and check out the Glassworks promptly, miss. We will see what can be done. If you think of anything else we should know, meet is in the common room in five minutes, please."
"Since we all agree," the Tiefling murmured, glancing over at Tanwen, "Shall we meet downstairs in five minutes? I may be able to fight like this, in a pinch, but I would prefer my crossbow too."

Cale Vatay |

at charisma 12 I figure him to be confidant, outgoing, but not exactly polite and far from tactful, plus he thinks he's funnier than he is, just a friendly reminder, this man was raised by carnies the elf smiles warm and friendly "sure thing, I should probably get soba and put my armor on five miniutes should be fine, this should be fun"
He turns to the cavalier and his expression turns more serious "I do apologize if I spoke out of turn, I often talk before I properly think, espically when I get excited, I meant no disrespect"

Tanwen Anwyl |

"Then we are on agreement it would seem, five minutes should be plenty of time to ready myself." The barely clothed woman responded.
She then turns to the elf, "I am used to disrespect my dear, I do not take it to heart."

Cale Vatay |

"Still, I didn't mean to give such" he seems to take the matter dropped at that, given that she hadn't been too offended as he turns around facing the other side of the bed and reches down and rubs at a large midnight colored fur, "hey now soba, time to wake up, it's hero time" the midnight mass opens a striking yellow eye and makes a low yowl, revealing itself to be a cat bigger than the average halfling "hey now don't be like that, yes I know what time it is but someone needs our help!" The cat yowls again but opens it's other eye and begins to get up "good girl," the cat growls lowly and Cale laughs as he rummages around for his armor.

Shalluk |

Shalluk glanced over at Tanwen's response. She shouldn't have to be, he thought sadly to himself. Still, the Elf had at least apologized. It would do, assuming he could keep his behaviour decent.
Returning to him room, Shalluk made the door was closed and bolted before removing the robe. He quickly pulled on his clothes, boots and Parade Armour, singing the various loads of ammunition into place as he did so. He glanced in the mirror and frowned. It was...chaotic. He would have to work out a neater way to store the ammunition for the crossbow when he had some time. For now, it would do.
Picking up his cloak, he pulled it on and move the hood forwards as far as it would go, the earlier laughter making him vow no one he didn't trust would see him without if it could be helped. Finally he picked up the heavy repeater, checking the string for any slack and that it's mechanisms were well oiled and smooth, free of any dirt or grit. A quick test fire with no bolts to make sure the weapon was truly perfect, and Shalluk loaded it, slipping the safety on.
For whatever reason he felt happier with the weapon in hand, and walked down to the common room with it clutched tightly by his side.

Cale Vatay |

in the intrest of moving this along, I understand family stuff Is important, just want to make sure no one is waiting on me, while I'm waiting on them
Cale dons his armor then he and his companion make their way to where the group had agreed to meet, presumably joined shortly by his new party members.

Tanwen Anwyl |

With the matter at hand clear, Tanwen leaves the room and goes back to her own, donning her chain shirt and retrieving the rest of her gear before returning to join the others.
"So, um, anyone know where the Glassworks are?"

Cale Vatay |

untrained knowledge local: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12"Uhhh, that way, maybe? I think, I'm not from around here" he says shrugging

GM Rednal |
Sandpoint's glassworks are on the western side of town, a little south of the upper-class district... which is probably just as well, because the place has been known to run at all hours, much to the vexation of the people who live around it. There are reasons why most of the houses are towards the southeastern side of town... but as you arrive in the area, the glassworks are curiously quiet. There's no traffic going to and from the building, but smoke is still rising out of the stacks and curling into the crisp morning air. Curtains have been drawn over the windows you can see.
You've each earned one Soul Point.

Cale Vatay |

"Well then. I guess we knock, see who answers... No one does the. We open up ourselves unless you folk have a better idea" he says shrugging.
we earn soul points for role play? Sweet :)

Tanwen Anwyl |

"I'm not certain anyone is going to answer, and Ameiko may be in trouble right now, I don't exactly want to wait around for someone to answer the door, I suggest we try to open the door, and if its not unlocked we bust it open."

Shalluk |

"Agreed," Shalluk added, "Better to ask forgiveness and point out our current rank with the sheriff if we are making a mistake rather than warning any goblins that might be lurking inside to our presence. I'm not sure I like that it's fires are still lit. But I know little about smelting glass."

Cale Vatay |

we have the exact same physical stats.... Weird
"Fine by me, shall I do the honors" he tries to open the door, if it is locked he then tries to unlock them with a set of lock picks "never know when you more need something like this"
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
If that fails he then tries to kick the door down
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
