Can I ask how far we are from 5th level? When we go to civilization, I'd love to be 5th so I can add some spells to my spellbook. But, of course, if others are ready to go back, I won't be a holdout.


Light mace. Brand: waaay back when I established a house rule that all magic weapons resize to the wielder, if that affects your interest. The mace will shrink to fit you, but the mwk longsword, not so much.


Trag: you leveled up three rooms ago, so you are a long way off from level 5.

I suppose I could buy the inks to scribe them, and add them when the time comes (if I don't have to use the scrolls in an emergency). Like I said, I wouldn't want to hold things up if everyone is ready for a quick trip to Riddleport.

While the mace, resized, would give me a magic weapon to wield, it would not benefit from my roguely Finesse training and thus not benefit from my dex-to-damage as short swords do. As such, it would spend most of it's time on my belt as a backup weapon.

@Anzath, if you are going to actively use it, I would not oppose you keeping it. At some point, we should start to consider wealth distribution, and it may make sense to sell it so everyone gets a fair share. If nothing else, use it for now.

I'll happily take it as I don't have a bludgeoning weapon. It'd be a backup weapon for me as well, for all those DR/bludgeoning undead, so I'm also happy to offer it to anyone who may get more mileage from it. Or we can sell it and I'd settle for a masterwork.

I'm home! I was at my brother's wedding--I figured someone would bring a laptop that I could borrow (nobody else traveled as far as I did, from Seattle to South Carolina). Nope!

I ended up spending more time with my older sister (I have two brothers and two sisters) who is going to Ireland this November. She and her husband are doing a huge tour from Dublin to Galway to Cork and back to Dublin. They are probably having as much fun daydreaming about all the things they could do as they are going to have doing what they decide to do. As a little mass-post for the games I'm active in: As some of you may know, I live in Georgia and Hurricane Michael is inbound for us. Exciting! After the storms from Irma it took about 3~ days to get electricity and internet back, so if I don't check in after Wednesday assume I am without power and may be for a few days, and bot me freely so I don't hold things up.

(and don't worry about me, I stocked up on delicious things like chocolate-peanut butter protein bars, fresh fruit, cookies, and cheese crackers, as well as a probably excessive amount of bottled water. And books. Remember folks: the more you prepare for a long-term power outage, the less likely it is to happen.)

Does anyone know how to modify your character on the mobile version of the site? Traveling and only have internet through my phone at the moment (and need to subtract hp, notate strength damage, and remove another round of arch's luck)

Edit: No I won't, because the dang website is only half working again.

Also, Anzath and Tal: note that I said 1200 feet in 50 rounds in an earlier post--the rounds were wrong (20 not 50), but the distance is right (60 x 20 = 1200). Also Tal: the place where you are. beyond the portcullis. is not on fire. The fire is filling the floor of the room beyond--you'll have a chance to solve the puzzle and/or you'll get rescued.

Brand: try allowing your screen to rotate. I kept missing the edit button on the new site's mobile version until I figured out that it's visible when the screen is widened as the phone is on its side. I hope that helps!

Michael actually wasn't that bad where I live, but it did knock a large tree onto the powerline feeding into my neighborhood. Took a while for them to clear it off the road and get the line back up, and another while for Cox to get their internet working in this area again. Still a bit spotty, but it is largely holding up.

The most harrowing part of the experience was a large spider (a wolfspider, I think) deciding my bathroom was a good home...

I had a character fantasize about a Spider Bane sword in a campaign once... he explained that it would be more useful than a Dragon Bane sword because there are so few dragons, but so very many spiders.

So while calculating Aurora's hit bonus for that touch attack, it came to my attention that I apparently never updated her MWK Quarterstaff attack line to reflect the BAB she gained at 4th that would put it at +6 instead of +5. That has been remedied now. she just, uh, forgot she was supposed to be better for a while there, clearly.

(and her caster level was listed as '3nd,' which leads me to believe I do too many statblocks in the early hours with insufficient caffeine in my system...)


I don't quite think those differences would have swung this fight--but it's good to be fully updated.


I really thought things were about to get really dark. Well played, crew. Anzath will successfully track herself back to the room, arriving within a few minutes. If the party lingers, she'll meet them there. If they move on, she'll trail until she reaches them and we can consider the party reunited with Anzath. Tal is another question...

That timely critical certainly helped!

I think that is really cool, how you flipped coins to determine their paths with total randomness. It fits the mental state, where they would be devoid of rational thought while fleeing.

I am just happy that Brand isn't paralyzed and unconscious with a strength of 0 at the moment!!
