Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Nice some decent Progress.

Male Human Gamemaster

(No one else checking in, moving on...)

The group puts the smoking ruin behind them, and continued on, walking along the beach. The noonday sun is definitely hot, and if not for the sea breeze would be affecting you adversely.

After an hour, maybe ninety minutes you come to the crest of the northern tip of Smugger's Shiv. A few islets jut out from the tip of the crest, and if you shade your eyes and squint you can barely make out a larger island to the south-west. The northern end of Smuggler's Shiv makes a near-circle, the inner cove protected from the treacherous currents and ocean-crossing storms.

You hear a high-pitched cry, and a shadow flits over the sands. Looking up, you do not see the expected seagull or tern but instead a much larger reptilian flying creature. The dimorphodon, colored in brown, red, and purple, flies out to the ocean, apparently ignoring your party.

(You can either turn back and go back the way you came, or continue along the curve to the inner cove and try to get back to camp that way. You have time to make it back to camp "the long way", due to the long summer days. Getting up the cliff into the jungle at the "crossover point" is another matter.)

Male Human Aegis 1

Sorry, I didn't see the updates til now. I'm fine with what has been decided.

Well then, let's get back, eh? We didn't get a whole heckuva lot, but it's better than nothing, right?

Female Human Ranger 2D10

The redhead is captivated by the appearance of the flying reptile. Her eyes track the beast to the ocean, where the beast dived into the surf, emerging with a fish in its' oversized mouth. The reptile flapped its' leathery wings furiously to regain flight, passing overhead again as it flew to the cliff face. A long, thin tail trailed after the ugly red-purple wings.

"Oooohh! A flying lizard!" Sasha cooed, watching the dimorphodon as it landed on a tiny ledge on the cliff and began scrabbling towards a hidden spot. "I bet I could train one, if we captured it! Think about having a flying pet! It could help us scout, tell us when there's a big animal nearby!" The woman shaded her eyes as she squinted at the nearby cliff. "I wonder if it has a nest there?" she asked out loud.

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Ashana looks at Sasha and shakes her head. "Oh no there is no way we're going to follow that thing. We don't know how protective its going to be of the nest and I for one refuse to kill anything if it has offspring. Come on lets get back to camp before the others get to worried." She will take Sasha's hand and start pulling her back towards camp if she has to.

Male Human Aegis 1

Yeah, Sasha, at this point, it's a little too dangerous to go after that thing or it's young. We should be heading back, and soon, too.

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Adriano looks up shading his eyes "It might be possible to tame one but I am not sure how to do it. Adraino looks again "if we could start with a baby that might work. Then he looks to his wounds "I think it might be best if we do that tomorrow and we head back to camp and leave what we found.

Male Human Gamemaster

So the four explorers go back the way they came along the beach, leaving the smoking ruin of the Tattooed Lady behind. (Mark off a meal and a waterskin, if you have one.)

The breeze off of the beach is the only respite from the oppressive heat. If you had gone though the jungle, with its' thick branches and canopy, the heat would be much, much worse.

Making faster time back, you pass by the rocks where the Jenivere beached on Smuggler's Shiv, and realize that nothing is left of the ship. Such is the fate of many vessels that attempt to land on the deserted island.

The heat of the day reaches its' peak just as you get back to the base camp. Jask Derindi and Varash Ironskull are cleaning and cooking fish, while Gelik Aberwhinge is singing a ribald tavern song as he mends the fishing net.

GM rolls:

fishing 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 2 people times 4 hours = 8 meals
fishing 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 no change (aid)
crab 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 1 person times 8 hours = 8 meals

for those keeping track of the food:

add:
8 meals of smoked, cured fish
8 meals of very small crab cakes, smoked
subtract:
1 meal each for Aeyrs, Gelik, Ishirou, Jask, Noel & girl, and Varash = 7
Shevan Risa is on hunt and will provide for himself.

Male Human Rogue 2D8

The stoic Tian man greeted you as you came upon the base camp. He motioned to Philip, and said in a low voice, "The half-elf is very bad off. She has been rummaging through everyone's supplies, looking for drink."

You don't see Aeyrs right off, she must be in her tent.

Male Gnome Bard 2D8

The blonde gnome noticed the explorers returning. "Well! he called out, sweat covering his brow and hands, "The mighty adventurers have returned? Did you find anything valuable, or more importantly, something to make our stay more pleasant?"

Gelik pointed to Jask and Varash, adding "Our fishermen managed to get quite a catch, as you can see. Dinner is broiled fish, with crab cakes." The little man made a face. "All the crab cakes you can eat - they're about the size of a thimble each."

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Ashana will approach Jask. "Would you mind tending to Adriano? He was hit with several vials of alchemists fire. If it wasn't for Sasha we wouldn't have been able to get him back to camp."

Once she knows Adriano is taken care of she will strip off her armor and weapons and then head for the ocean to go cool off. Normally she doesn't like the water but right now the heat is more pressing then her fear of water.

Male Human Aegis 1

@Ishirou, Well, that isn't any good. Maybe the sobriety will do her some good?

@Gelik, We didn't find anything amazing, just a few rusty old shortswords, which need to be sharpened.. And we've got this rowboat, which can be fixed up.

Fish? Excellent. It's been a bit of a long day.

The plan was, unless my memory is faulty, to drag the rowboat up to camp on our way back.

Once everyone is finished eating, Phillip will get to work on the boat. 2hp/standard action. As Phillip examines, prods, and manipulates the boat, tiny silver strands come out of his hands, slowly replacing the wood which has been destroyed.

Burlap Bag of Holding 3

Om nom nom.

These fish and crab cakes are better than the usual slop you guys feed me.

Female Human Ranger 2D10

"Well, the ship we found had a boobytrap, so Adriano's lucky he got what he did." Sasha said after Ashana finished talking. "But then we saw a flying lizard! It was really pretty, I've always wanted to train one like that from the egg and make it a pet!" The redhead became enthusiastic with her recounting of the exploration.

Male Human Cleric 2D8

"Oh! Of course. Let me look at you, Adriano." the middle-aged man said, getting up from the campfire. He began to inspect Adriano's hands and face, making tsk-ing noises at seeing the healed burns.

Male Gnome Bard 2D8

"A boobytrap, you say?" the gnome asked, stroking his beard thoughtfully. "That bodes ill for us, if someone has beat us to all the derelicts we come across. Still, it's better than the rumors, of undead patrolling the island."

Male Human Rogue 2D8

"I will go back to watching the beach." Ishirou said gruffly to everyone.

Perception DC 15:

The Tian man doesn't appear to be as stoic as he first presented yesterday. In fact, you saw his hand shaking a bit before he gripped his sword hilt, almost for reassurance. As he turned away, his shoulders were stiff and tensed.

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Adriano heads over to Jask looking ashamed holding out his burnt hands wondering if the adventurers life was really what he was made for. "It was Alchemists fire."

Male Human Cleric 2D8

"Hmmm. Hmmm. Hmmm." Jask commented as he turned Adriano's hands over. "No lasting damage." he declared. "You used a healing potion, correct? I can tell from the new skin." Without waiting, the middle-aged man closed his eyes and clasped the holy symbol around his neck. (Channel positive energy, 30 ft radius burst, 1d6 ⇒ 6)

"There. A fitting welcome for your efforts today." Jask declared. "If your hands," the man peered at Adriano's face, "or face, still feels tight by nightfall, I found some leaves I can wet with drinking water and make for a light poultice to wrap in overnight." The cleric looked pleased with himself.

Male Human Gamemaster

The bright sunlight dims as clouds swiftly appear, and a single aerial thunderclap warns of an imminent daily shower.

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

At hearing the thunderclap Ashana's ears drop and she rushes back to the camp, water dripping from her skin. She heads to her make shift lean-to and will remain their in an effort to stay dry from the rain until the storm lifts or she's needed for anything.

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

"Thank you Jask, if I need the poltice I will let you know." Adriano watches the sky nodding a temporary goodbye to the Dawnflower's Rays disappearing with the clouds.

Male Gnome Bard 2D8

As the downpour began Gelik jumped up, shouting "Save the fire! Get the food under wraps!" The gnome raised a canvas-topped set of poles, providing a barrier between the rain and the coals.

Male Human Aegis 1

Phillip gets up from his work on the boat, grabbing a nearby canvas, and dragging it over the food stores.

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, I haven't been feeling well.

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

broken from his moment of reverence with reality he begins to help pack away the food.

Male Human Gamemaster

(I tried posting a nice big summary to the next morning, and the boards ate my post! Here we go again. Just to the evening this time.)

The storm lasted for nearly a half-hour, drenching everything not covered. Varash Ironskull used a sheet of canvas to pour rainwater into the water casks he had set up, collecting the clean water. (Survival check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16)

After the storm broke Shevan Risa came crashing through the jungle brush to the north. The warrior looked like he had been walking alone for hours, and was soaked to the skin to boot.

Aerys Mavato came out of the women's tent she shared with the comatose Noel and Tessara, carrying a large book, ink, and a feathered pen. She set up on the edge of camp away from everyone else. In the cooling afternoon the half-elf appeared to be writing in the book as she looked at the nearby beach.

Gelik, after ensuring the food and fire were still viable, set about checking the tent lines and equipment, humming a ribald tavern tune from Magimar.

"I did not find any game, although I tried climbing the hill to the north-west." Shevan told everyone. "The heat was too much, and slowed me down greatly. Then that rain came and I could hardly see more than a few feet in front of me." the man grumbled, restringing his bow. Shevan looked at Varash. "Maybe I should stay at camp tomorrow and let you look for rabbits and birds." he said to the half-orc.

"I could look for edible plants, since Jask here knows net-fishing as well as I now." Varash agreed. "I'm surprised we haven't seen any cocoanut trees yet, just these leafy growths and vines."

Female Human Ranger 2D10

"Ooh! I know! If we had one of those lizard-bird-things, we could train it to hunt, just like the one we saw!" Sasha butts into the conversation between the two. (One-track mind.)

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Ashana comes out to join the party. She hears Sasha bring up the bird again and just shakes her head. "And what makes you think you can train it? And what makes you think we can deal with an angry parent when we steal one of its young?"

Male Human Aegis 1

She's got a point, Sasha. Wild animals can be dangerous.

Female Human Ranger 2D10

The redhead pouted. "I'm a good trainer." she insisted.

Male Gnome Bard 2D8

"The woman with a sword wants to raise a flying lizard? Now I've heard everything!" Gelik said from the fire pit. He looked at the dimming light. "Eh. Nightfall will be soon. We'd best get our night watchmen ready. Right, my silent half-elf?" the little man called loudly at Aeyrs, still writing in her book.

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

"I say we let her give her a chance if we come across an egg." Andreas looks at Gelik "I will take first watch."

Male Human Aegis 1

@Sasha, I don't doubt it, but it's the parent we've got to worry about, not the youngling.

@Gelik, Same watches as before, I'm guessing?

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Ashana will excuse her self from the group near the fire and will go stand behind Aeyrs.

"What are you writing there?" she asks politely.

Diplomacy check if you want:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Male Gnome Bard 2D8

(Back to Phillip, while watching everybody else in the camp.) "Hmmm...yes. After what happened last night with our former First Mate, I think so!" the gnome shuddered. "Hopefully the traps our taciturn guards have set up will alert us sooner than before to any intruders. I, for one, like my sleep, as long as it is not my last!" the small blonde man chuckled at his own joke.

Male Human Aegis 1

Yes, hopefully the guards did a good job with the traps.

Phillip chuckles at Gelik's joke as well.

Female Half-Elf Fighter 2D10

Aerys slammed the book shut. "It's personal." she declared, then visibly winced, putting one hand up to her head. "If I can't get a drink, I thought writing might help with this cursed headache." The half-elven woman looked out at the darkening jungle. "It's not like we're going to live long enough to get back to civilization." Her voice trembled on the last sentence.

Male Human Aegis 1

Hearing Aerys's negative coment, Phillip responds, Come on, now. Of course we're going to make it off the island. If we all work together, there's no way we can't get past this. Once your withdrawal period is over, which is going to be tough, you'll see that, if we aren't already off the island, it's definitely possible for us to do so.

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Ashana jumps as Aerys slams the book shut and pins her ears back. She put a hand on Aerys shoulder.

"Don't worry we'll get off this island in no time..." her voice trails off.

Female Half-Elf Fighter 2D10

The half-elf shrugged off Ashana's hand (paw?). Almost visibly shaking with fear, the woman hugged her tome to her chest, the ink bottles and feather pen at her feet. "I..I..I..I don't want to talk about this!" she shouted. Grabbing the ink bottle and feather, she made for her tent.

Perception DC 15:

Aerys is visibly frighted of anything and everything. Most is due to the withdrawal. A few days of good news and peace might be the best medicine.

Shevan looked up from where he was restringing his bow. He shook his head. "I can't imagine what she thought she was going to do in Eleder - find the nearest tavern?" he asked the crowd. The man began checking the fetching on his arrows.

Male Human Cleric 2D8

"If she is truly suffering, we have a potion of Remove Disease..." the older cleric said, letting his voice trail down with the offering. Jask looked at the equipment pile where the potions where being kept. "Not that I've used such a potion for withdrawal before," he added, "but in theory it might work."

Female Human Ranger 2D10

"No! Sasha nearly shouted from near her tent. She walked over to Jask near the fire pit. "What happens if one of us gets foot rot or a fever that turns our insides to glue? I'm not wasting our only help on a drunk's shivers and shakes!" the redhead declared. Sasha went to the pile of equipment, and bending down, took another potion of Cure Light Wounds, putting the empty vial from before in its' place.

(Swag Bag notice.)

Standing, Sasha stated, "It's getting dark. We should get ready for our bedrolls." She looked at Gelik. "Unless you have a way of reading the stars, so we know how to find our way back if we stay out too long tomorrow?"

Male Gnome Bard 2D8

The gnome held up both hands, palms out. "I'm no astronomer or astrologer, that's for certain! Not enough songs have been made about the stars here. You'll have to find a sailor or a court mage." Gelik hastily replied.

Male Human Aegis 1

Swag Bag has noticed.

So, what are the plans for tomorrow, then?

"I will look for tubers and edible stalks." Varash offered from where he was wrapping fish meat with wet leaves. "Shevan can help Ishirou with guarding and watching."

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Ashana looks off into the tent and wonders if she should go after Aeyers but desides its best to giver her her space tonight and if needed possibly appologize in the morning. She will return to the fire and sit down on a near by log, her tail curling up next to her leg.

"I think it would be best if we possibly explored the other direction tomorrow. Or we could try exploring the other side of the point tomorrow? I just hope it won't be so dreadfully hot tomorrow though I have a feeling we won't be so lucky."

Male Human Rogue 2D8

Ishirou appears silently at the edge of the camp. "It is time to start the watches, Cleric Ferrio." he said succinctly. The older man appeared calmer than he was in the morning before.

Oracle or Pally would prolly be pretty good, if you don't mind me sayin'.

I am definitely going Jungle Druid. Will work up build and such now. How late on the 27th are you accepting? I need to go to bed soon as I have work morrow, but I will be home by about 7pm Eastern Standard Time, and I really, really wanna try and get in this game.

Ok since you are going jungle druid i think I will come in with a pally. Will have prelim up in a bit.

Ok so I'm going to go Divine Hunter Paladin. Still looking at races and such.

Presenting Ormak Kron, old profile made new again!!

Need to do backstory and such, but I wanted to do his stats up first.

Now, bed!

GM_Pace:
Thing is, I never watched the Visionaries and I'm not envisioning a character like that, at all. What I had in mind is a ruthless mercenary, sick of nannying rich merchants, that sees the shipwreck of the Jenivere as an opportunity to prove to himself that he's a great warrior and that not even the jungles can kill him. He's not a ronin, but he's part of the Order of the Cockatrice (here's their code: A cavalier who belongs to this order serves only himself, working to further his own aims and increase his own prestige. Cavaliers of this order tend to be selfish and concerned only with personal goals and objectives. I would stick with the rest of the group because hey, we are all in this together, I might as well make good use of their abilities if this helps me survive.

Raal is dressed in a full armor and his helmet doesn't show his facial features (quite like the one in my avatar, he shows a roaring beast instead). The banner I had in mind is not a clunky thing strapped to my back, but two long linen pennants attached to my arms. They are white with a black lion embroided on them, and their purpose is to make me look more menacing and agile while I fight with two weapons at once. This is why I'm still a bit perplexed by the fact that I should rever my banners or mourn them if I lose them: I don't consider them sacred, I consider them useful.

Let me know if you are ok with my idea of the character, before I go on with the background.

Here is the catfolk Rogue that I've built.

Please take a look and give me any feedback you see necessary.

I hope it is not too late to submit my "flowing monk" Anisa'oko. I shall draw up a character profile today.

The concept is fairly simple. Anisa'oko is an escaped Mwangi slave
Alignment: Lawful Good.

She is not from an established monastic tradition She received her training in a slave camp on the Isle of Ilizmagorti (think "capoiera"). She is a survivalist.

Her "monk" weapons are simple tools (which tradional monk weapons are all suppposed to be anyway).
For example: Rather than shuriken she uses carefully selected rocks (bullets).

She can use her woodcraft to manufacture weapons on the spot with what she can find at hand. eg. Short spear, quarter staff, club

She arrives stowed in a barrel with minimal possessions. I might use her starting gold to purchase a single special item....

The basic building blocks of the concept are here:

Anisa'oko the escaped human slave:

Female Human "Monk" (Flowing)
St 13 Dx 16 Cn 14 It 12 Ws 14 Ch 10

Feats: Weapon Finesse, Agile Manoeuvres, Toughness
Monk: Flurry of Blows, Unarmed Fighting, Stunning Fist

Invest in the following skills:
Perception, Craft:woodcraft, Survive, Know (Nature), Heal, Escape Artist

***Special Exception: *Know Nature is a class skill rather than Know Religion

Traits:
Divine Trait: can cast orison at will as cleric 1st: Purify Food and Drink.

Stowaway: +1 Stealth and +1 survival to find food

Weapons: Self made. Simple tools. ie. Staves, Small Spears, Club, Machetes, Sickles, Bullets (rather than Shuriken).

Background highlights:
1. Escaped slave. FLed into the wild
2. Learned to fight with bare hands and simple tools (ie. monk weapons).
3. Survived by the river and swamps. Hunted down by slavers.
4. Escaped by hiding in a barrel. Barrel was loaded onto the Jenivere.

Raal:

Raal, don't mind my preconceptions and reminiscence. Thanks for the correction - Raal's a Samurai, not a Ronin. Your explanation of your banner works as well.

It's the Samurai description of the Mount that made me want to transfer any penalties to the banner. You've convinced me, I'll drop the penalties.

Just don't let the banner get frayed and tatty. Samurai were expected to be men of learning and artists as well as warriors, remember. :)

mathpro18:

mathpro18,
14(5)+18(16=10)+14(5)+16(10)+10(0)+12(2)=32, whoa! You've got 12 points too many there.

Going with your max stat (Dex) and similar bonus points, you could try
13(3)+18(16=10)+12(2)+13(3)+10(0)+12(2)=20

Then wait for 4th Level and 8th Level to bump up those 13s to 14s.

imimtrl:

imimrtl, interesting choice of Divine Hunter Paladin. Don't forget, that although Paladins cannot cast spells for several levels, the rules say that they can use wands if the spell is on their class list. Just roll high on that Knowledge check to recognize the wand.

Ashana Blacktail:

Ashana, your interpretation of 20 ability score points being equal to 20 Racial Points from the Advance Race Guide is assuming quite liberally. Especially when the given Catfolk example uses 12 RPs. But I'll allow it, just to see if 10 RPs above a normal Human breaks the game. The Race Guide also advises to bump up the challenges of the game due to the higher abilities, so in case you're wondering why you're the party jinx, you just found out.

You still need a good background and description of how you avoid people noticing your cat ears.

Also, "Boarded In Cheliax" should be a Trait, not a Special Ability on your character page.

Monkeygod, I'll be closing submissions around midnight tonight. We have plenty of submissions, so hurry.

Ok updated my profile Varash Ironskull, answered the big 5 with the sorcerer in mind.

Spoiler:

1. Why are you aboard the ship?
Going back to the jungle to explore my heritage and growing powers.

2. At which port did you board or are you a stowaway?
I was able to pay my way on board in Chelliax, after several years of repairing items (mending spell) and one lucky night gambling (yay bluff! :) )

3. What will your character contribute to the group?
My character will contribute arcane awesomeness, some relevant knowledge/skills and a team player attitude

4. What are your plans for your character mechanically?
stay straight sorcerer, i want to try out the bloodline powers.

5. What are your plans for your character from a story-perspective?
story-wise, my character firmly believes there is something in the jungles that will help him further understand his heritage. He knows he is different, and would like to learn and control what is happening.

ok forgot equipment.
backpack, flint and steel, bedroll, 20 bolts, 2 waterskins, hammock, dagger, 10 rations, canvas (for overhead cover) map maker's kit, compass

That should be under the average starting of 70gp, i'll most of the rest was spent buying passage, leaving me with 5gp.

Just need a few minutes to get things typed up. Going for a chelixian ninja....

1.

Why are you aboard the ship?:

I boarded the Jenivere thinking what better palce to hide from guards and angry nobles than a ship sailing for a hopefully distant land.

2.

At which port did you board or are you a stowaway?:

I'm a stowaway.

3.

What will your character contribute to the group?:

A pretty face to befriend, disarm, or distract the locals....
I'm also good with my blades, handy with a lock, and keeping out of sight.

4.

What are your plans for your character mechanically?:

I will continue trainign with my 2 bladed style (more two weapon fighting feats) and with my less noble skills (stealth, sleight of hand, bluff, disable device, escape artist). I've been working on an ancient technique to tap into my Ki. Once I can do that, I've heard stories of a person making clones of themselves, attacking at blinding speed, and learning the secret of the smoke bomb. (i'm not sure exactly but like the shadow clone type abilities, flurry of stars, and the smoke bomb line of tricks.

5.

What are your plans for your character from a story-perspective?:

I'll probably try to make friends with the strongest character physically and then work to integrate myself into the group as a whole. If I can prove how useful I am, then I should be able to convince them to accept me. Having never been away from the temple, i'll probably rely on the group for protection if I should get myself into trouble. Who knows, perhaps I can make some real fiends and find a purpose. (She's a bit of a lost lamb, not naive, but wandering with no real purpose except survival. She will strive to be useful and as the story progresses develope her first real firendships)

DM:
I know you said that stowaway's might be low on roleplay due to staying hidden, but I was thinking of doing a little twist, as written in my backstory. The idea is she seduces a crew member, lets say the first mate, and the ship is far enough out at sea where they didn't turn around. The first mate obtains permission from the captain to not toss her overbaord, provided she pays for her passage and she now walks about freely. (could eb the first mate payed for her, due to her persuasivness Diplomacy 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 )

Let me know your thoughts, I'm cool either way

Ok, everyone, we're entering the last few hours of submitting a character. Solos, don't take this too hard, but I'm going to have to insist you actually make up a character page for Varash Ironskull, not use your Solos page. I want to see an avatar picture. Everyone else, keep working on those character pages. The fuller, the better. If I have to decide between a Druid with 2 lines of description and a Fighter with a full paragraph of backstory and a fully-loaded character page, then I'm going to choose the Fighter and hope for the best for the players.

Do not include paying for your passage with your starting gold, nor trait-added gold. That gold is for you, not the plot.

Lots of players don't have two traits. Don't cheat yourself, choose one from the Player's Guide and another that helps your character. Add in where you boarded the Jenivere as well somewhere on the page.

I'm going to go ahead and make up the Campaign pages but nobody post until I make my decision! Right now I might have to pick 6 players instead of 5.

paarently my background increase was eaten...There is more there it jsut didnt get saved.. updating it again, sorry for that

Here is what I have so far. Let me know what you think. Will create an avatar soon.

Anyone have any suggestions for a Tiefling Pally?

rolls for fiendish heritage:

Here is the Avatar for Shevan. I will get up background info and such tomorrow.

Background updated! Now to find a good pic.

imimtrl:

imimtrl, a Rakshasa-spawn Tiefling?
1.) I can't find Rakshasa anywhere but in the Ultimate Magic part of the PRD as a Sorcerer bloodline. I did find Rakshasa-spawn in the OGC SRD, so the race gets a pass.
2.) However, the OGC SRD also says on that page that Tieflings are "slightly more powerful than the base races". You plus the catgirl would bump up the challenge rating of the party by 2, not just 1.

And while I was typing you changed Rakshasa to Div. Hmmmm. Interesting. You are still quite the overpowered Level One character. I am going to have to think about this.

I don't quite understand what i need to do differently but i'll poke around.

i believe i have done it

I can change the race out to something else if that would make things easier. I just thought playing a tiefling paladin would be a neat way of doing it. I have no problem changing though if you would like me to.

avatar for Varash

imimtrl:

Imimtrl, you don't have to change it, but you're upping the challenge rating for the team. I'd also like to know if you look 99% human or not. You can put that part in your backstory.

Varash Ironskull, thanks for the full character sheet.

I still need "where you boarded" from Varash, Anisha'oko, and Nylia.

All right, applications will close between now and me waking up tomorrow (Friday the 28th)!

Please consider Anisa 'oko. She is an escaped slave. She is a resourceful survivor .

She practices a variety of martial arts practiced among the slaves on Ilizmagorti - who had to train without weapons and without the slave drivers' knowing about it. Like - Capoeira. I created a trait for it (+1 Dance and Bluff is a class skill). I hope that's cool.

She has a heart of gold and a deep respect for life.

She is not a heavy hitter in combat. I expect lots of feints, athleticism, tripping , grappling and evasion.

I hope you like her.

I boarded in the Cheliax city of Westcrown, paying for passage, although i have offered my services in mending anything my arcane talent might be able to fix.

Silly me, I said Iw as a stowaway but not where I boarded, we'll go with Kintargo, Chelix. I can see Chelix nobles being the unforgiving types, and if hell knigths were the ones chasing her down, well she would probably want to leave town quick!

(Drum roll) AND THE WINNERS ARE.....

First off, let me thank each of you for applying. I had thought if I said "Psionics friendly" I would get 10,000 psionic applications and win a few arguments here about scared or stubborn GMs here on the Pazio boards. You proved me wrong but thought up several wonderfully original characters. I appreciate that.

That being said, I can only pick six players. We had enough characters submitted for me to host two games. I'm not prepared to take on that load. So here are the best players I could pick for a viable team for the Adventure Path called Serpents' Skull:

Cleric: Adriano Fierro, Half-Elf Cleric of Sarenrae (from Varisia)
Paladin: Shevan Risa, Rakshasa-Spawn Tiefling Paladin (Divine Hunter) (Boarded In Cheliax)
Rogue: Ashana Blacktail, Female Catfolk (Stowaway from Cheliax)
Sorcerer: Varash Ironskull, Verdant bloodline (Boarded In Cheliax)
Other: Phillip Conti, psionic Aegis (from Magnimar)
Other: Noel Vermillion, Female Dragonrider with girl Tessara (from Varisia)

Raal Saikhan:

Raal, I want you to know you have a great character, but I did promise that anyone from the old GM_Todd Serpent's Skull game would get first choice. That's the only reason you got dropped. Raal is a very viable character, keep him for another game.

Ormak Kron:

Monkeygod, you have a fantastic concept, I just ran out of player slots. Don't throw the character away.

Anisha'oko and Nylia:

Anisha'oko and Nylia, don't feel that you came in late and lost. I just ran out of players slots.

If you weren't picked, don't delete your character! Real Life can cause a host of problems. People drop out. If that happens in the future, I will come back to the rejected players and ask them to volunteer into the ongoing game. You all get the next first pick this time. Just watch this Recruitment page in the future. This is the only game I'm hosting for now.

If you were chosen, head over to the IC page and the OOC page.

Let me be the first to offer you all good luck.

i'll try and keep an eye on things just incase.

Happy sailing, everyone!
