Sasha saw Adriano falter at the rope. She dove forward to catch the cleric, grabbing him with one hand and the rope with the other. Sasha dug in her heels to slow their descent.
Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Climb (Aid Another): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17 (+2 to Adriano's 5)
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Together the pair stumbled down the cliff, landing hard at the bottom next to Ashana. Sasha let Adriano go and fussed at him, saying "One, get gloves. Two, watch your step!" She stumbled, walking off the impact.
(Couldn't resist when I saw the natural 20!)

Adriano Fierro |

hmmm, Ring of Feather Fall or Being rescued by an attractive redhead, Tough Choice.
Adriano looks at the rope wondering if the gods are trying to tell him something, then he looks at Sasha and smiles "I will, Thank you, I am beginning to think you might be my guardian angel." Looking at her leg where she landed "Are you hurt?"

Ashana Blacktail |

Ashana watches as Andriano once again falls off the cliff to be saved by Sasha. She chuckles to herself and starts trying to unhook her grappling hook to collect the rope again. She gives it a few quick tugs but can't get it to come free.
"Little help please..."
Strength check to retrieve hook:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

GM_Pace |

(And the rope jiggles loose so Ashana can recover her grappling hook and rope. Moving on....)
Your explorer party, now at the beach level, can feel the ocean breeze quite readily. Walking West (I hope), you have only the subdued waves of the ocean lapping against the shoreline for distraction. Sasha is almost bubbly as she talks about how she can raise and tame the reptile-bird, or dimorphodon.
After almost two hours of walking, you hear a familiar cry.
(Perception checks, followed by initiative rolls. Those who make DC 15 on their Perception can act one round before everyone else. I will also need a marching order. Then I get to update a map and make an Excel spreadsheet for combat!)

GMP-Sasha Nevah |

"And we can even tie a message to its' leg, once I train it to go to other people. So we could send-" Sasha paused in her non-stop talking, cocking her head to one side. "What was that?" she asked everyone, puzzled.
Perception check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

GM_Pace |

With a high-pitched cry, a reptile-bird dove out of the sky, attacking the party. It looked like it came from the nearby cliff.
As Ad Ph Sa 1d4 ⇒ 3
Attack: bite 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
A small red-black creature flew by Phillip, its' jaw scraping along the studded leather of his shoulder and collarbone. With powerful motions of its' arms, the bat-like flyer climbed back into the sky. The attacker made a large loop in the air, preparing for another attack. The reptile-bird made a second high-pitched cry against the intruders.
Dimorphodon initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Sasha: 15
Phillip: 9
Ashana: 15 (she has better initiative, Reflex, so Ashana goes before Sasha)
Adriano: 5 (reptile-bird has better initiative, so it goes before Adriano)
Since Phillip is the only person to make the Perception roll, he gets an AOO. Then its' top-of-the-round with Ashana.

Phillip Conti |

Actually, I can't, as I don't have a weapon out, unless I acted on the spoiler prior to it coming down and drew my rapier. Assuming that happened:
Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage:1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Well, that's a bunch of crap. When it comes to his initiative, Phillip will (swift action) bring up his astral skin, (move action) move to in front of the group in regards to the bird, drawing his rapier if he hadn't already, and (standard action) ready an action to strike it as it comes by.

GM_Pace |

(Whoops! Forgot to post the new maps. Entirely my fault, sorry about that.)
Excel spreadsheet map of the beach attack
General map of exploration so you can see where you are
(And yes, Phillip can draw and attack. Too bad he missed.)

GMP-Sasha Nevah |

Sasha gave a start, seeing the reptile-bird flash by them. "Ooooh!" she exclaimed. Sasha drew her rapier as Phillip grew his bluish-clear armor and Ashana drew her dagger. "Come out, come out, wherever you are!" the redhead shouted gleefully, almost giggling as she tried to track the dimorphodon in the air. "The adults are too old to train; I want a youngling. Or an egg." Sasha stated.
(Like Ashana, holding action until the dimorphodon flies close enough to attack.)
Masterwork rapier attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 (Bah.)

Adriano Fierro |

Posting my move now just so I don't hold up combat. He is casting Guidance to give Ashana a +1 to hit on her next action.
Adriano prays to Sarenrae to guide Ashana's next strike at the lizard. "May the light of the Dawnflower guide your hand. He points his holy symbol at Ashana.

GM_Pace |

The red-black, actually purple in places reptile-bird looped in for another attack.

Adriano 4
Excel spreadsheet map of the beach attack
This time the dimorphodon chose to attack the wooden shield-carrying cleric. Ashana threw her dagger, and missed, as the reptile-bird flew close. Sasha also missed with her rapier. Phillip was much faster with his own rapier and (due to some great rolls) sliced & diced the dimorphodon before it could bite the cleric. The blond-headed man skewered the creature in mid-air, the reptile-bird crashing to the sand and ripping open its' entire left wing, dragging Phillip's rapier with it.
Before the party could congratulate each other, an outraged hiss from the cliff showed another reptile-bird taking off towards them. The cleric held his holy symbol out at the black-furred catgirl.
Round 2!

Ashana Blacktail |

Ashana will look at the cleric and smiled in appreciation. She draws another dagger and prepairs another throw when the second creature gets ready to attack. As she waits she'll look at Sasha and shake her head "This is why I didn't want to do this...we're lucky that one died so quickly."
Dagger ranged attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 91d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Phillip Conti |

Shit. Phillip 5-foot steps to N10 and picks up his rapier. Phillip readies an action to strike any enemy who comes close.
It seemed to work well for me last time, so I'll put them up again.
Readied Action: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Readied Action Confirm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Hot Damn.

GM_Pace |

The reptile-bird makes a dive towards
Sasha. Ashana flipped another dagger, but it again missed. Phillip moved in front of Adriano, and continued to show superb swordsmanship (confound it). His rapier easily met the attacking dimorphodon, dispatching the second reptile quicker than its' mate. The flyer screeched as it died, hitting the sandy ground.
(Ok, Phillip just raised the bar for everyone. Two crits in a row with more than decent damage. I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board on this one. It was far too easy.)
(Ya'll can consider yourselves out of melee now.)
The beach was quiet after the stunningly quick attack.

GMP-Sasha Nevah |

Sasha looked at Phillip, then at his common rapier, comparing it with her own masterwork sword. "Well!" she said, impressed. "Looks like you've gotten better since the crabs woke us up." the woman concluded.
Turning and squinting her eyes, the redhead looked at where the second dimorphodon had flown from. "I bet the nest is up there - and it's ours for the taking." Sasha declared.

Adriano Fierro |

Adriano looks back at the cliff going up, mumbling under his breath"great we have to climb again."
In a positive attitude voice trying to sound hopeful "Let's go this should leave the nest unattended. Then we can finish some exploration and head back to camp.

Phillip Conti |

Oh no. What have I done! :P
Well, poison isn't exactly great for the sword-arm, y'know?
Yes, it should. If everyone's okay, let's get going, eh?
Phillip, unlike usual, doesn't release his body's hold on the Astral Skin. He does, however, put his rapier away. He waits at the bottom for a bit.Does anyone want me to bring a rope up? If he is given a rope, he'll climb with the rope around his shoulder, if not, he'll just begin climbing.
Climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

GMP-Sasha Nevah |

"I've got rope right here!" Sasha said enthusiastically. She took off the 150 feet of hemp rope she had across her shoulders, tying on the grappling hook. When she was done, she handed the entirety to Phillip. "Here - try to get that outcropping, I think that's where it came from." Sasha told him.
Sasha then stood back, watching Phillip climb in his strange wrapping.

Phillip Conti |

I'm pretty sure take 10 is possible on climb checks. I read somewhere where Sean K Reynolds specifically mentioned it. Found it. The page is about taking 20, but taking 10 on a climb check is mentioned. If it's allowed, I'll take 10, for a 15.
Edit: Might as well put rolls in case it's not allowed.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Edit 2: Putting a few more dice out, and making sure you know that I have a 40 foot move speed.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

GM_Pace |

After a false start Phillip got up the rope. Just before he reached the top of the cliff he slipped again, but valiantly corrected, much to the relief of everyone below. Phillip's attention was drawn to a particular point on the side of the cliff.
Excel spreadsheet of the beach & cliff, if anyone's interested
(So what do you do?)

GMP-Sasha Nevah |

"Good!" Sasha shouted back. "Now put the egg in..." she broke off, squinting at Phillip's form. "Oh for the love of-" the redhead started to swear. She looked at Adriano, then Ashana. "Everybody's backpack is full, I bet! Good thing I thought ahead!" she said loudly. Taking an empty burlap sack from her belt, she tied it to the end of the rope in front of the three people on the beach. "Here! Haul this up and put the egg inside! And lower it gently, now! I don't want the egg to end up scrambled!" Sasha called up to Phillip.

GM_Pace |

(After several minutes of Phillip lowering the sack, Sasha gets the egg. She scoops some warm sand into the sack, to keep the temperature up on the egg.)
(Phillip can continue to look around from where he is, or come down the rope. Several "take 10s" will keep him from making the 100-ft swan dive.)

GMP-Sasha Nevah |

"As long as I don't fall down a hole, I'll keep up with you exploring, Ashana." Sasha finally answered the black-furred catgirl. She tied the sack securely to her hip. Sasha shaded her eyes, looking up at the sun. "I think it's noon, or a little after." she estimated. "Plenty of time left before we head back. Ooh! I can't wait to watch this egg hatch!" the young woman giggled.

Ashana Blacktail |

"I'm glad you're happy Sasha" Ashana says as the egg is lowered down to the red haired woman. Ashana then heads over and picks up the two daggers she threw and will try to reconceal them on her body.
"Any idea where we should head?" she asks to pretty much anyone.
