Ruslo's hit crushes the spider's skull and it falls to the floor bleeding a yellowish fluid out of his broken body.
You feel relieved ... the poison of a spider can be very dangerous!
Fuzzy, two more rounds with saves but a successful save ends the duration.
After the battle is over you take a quick look around.
A small cocoon hangs in the webs, holding the remains of an unfortunate dog that fell into the spider’s clutches.
The desiccated carcass is still wearing its leather collar, which is studded with lapis lazuli stones and has a silver tag reading “Kita.” The collar is probably worth something.

Fuzzzy looks at his sword. Why was it so heavy all of a sudden?!
"Nice job, young man." Fuzzzy tells Ruslo. "Have we met? I can't seem to recall"
"Oh, look! A doorway! I wonder what's inside! Let's go!"
Fuzzzy |
"Bleeding? Where?" Fuzzzy looks at his wound. "So I am! That looks like a nasty wound! I bet it hurt!"
Taking Bobby's advice, Fuzzzy pulls out a potion from his belt pouch and drinks it.
Healing: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Fully Healed.
GM Nowruz |
You look around the area some more and venture in the direction of the tower’s west wing. You find this area mostly choked with rubble, but a door in the eastern wall is still accessible and open.
The door leads to a stone spiral staircase that runs through the center of the tower. The staircase used to lead down to underground tunnels, but this exit collapsed from the aftershocks, sealing the tunnels.
Unfortunately, the stairway up is also blocked with fallen rubble. You realize that if you wish to explore the tower’s upper levels, you will have to go back outside and attempt to climb the tower’s exterior walls.
Please give me climb DC15 checks and I assume those who roll successfully first are up first as there are several possibilities to climb up.
Fuzzzy |
"There's nowhere to go in this place." Fuzzzy realizes. "Bobby? Where is this place? And why am I playing in the rocks?"
Fuzzzy |
"Ah, yes! Quite right! Climbing we go!"
Fuzzzy goes outside and looks at the hole in the upper floor.
He waits for Ruslo to use his grappling hook and rope so it is easier to climb up there.
Ruslo |
"Well, well. What do we have here?"
Ruslo picks up the studded collar.
Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Ruslo adds the collar to Temp Gear
"Ha! I'm Ruslo old man! Yeah, looks like you're bleeding."
Ruslo also inspects the areas being passed through.

When everyone is ready to move on, Ruslo tosses his grappling hook up to the next level.
"Let's do this."
Ruslo takes a 10 on his climb check for a 16 climb.

Rumple Dergskin |
"Lovely." cheers the odd dwarf as the spider is put down. Later, when we are retrieving the dog's collar, Rumple is very observant and eager to help. In fact, by the time everyone is ready to go outside, you find him still sitting with the dog. He is completely engrossed in taking notes and making drawings. It takes you several attempts to get his attention and to drag him away.
He is dismayed at the thought of climbing but is quickly relieved when others make it up so easily. "Toss down a rope, please." He will respectfully wait for Fuzzy to go first before he takes his turn up the rope.
climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (16) - 4 = 12
With the aid of the rope, he makes his way up quite easily. The whole time though, you see him glancing back at the doorway to the dog's room.
Llorva |
Llovra scales the rope right behind Ruslo climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 after she retrieved her bow
GM Nowruz |
Grappling Hook: Throwing a grappling hook requires a ranged Attack Roll, treating the hook as a thrown weapon with a range increment of 10 feet. Objects with ample places to catch the hook are AC 5.
So even if Ruslo does not make an attack roll DC 10 with -2 to hit due to range then Ruslo will attach the grappling hook after he climbs up so ALL OTHERS need only DC 5 climb checks.
Fuzzzy |
Fuzzzy tries to climb up the rope.
Climb: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 2 = 9
When he gets up beside Ruslo he shakes the dirt off of his robes. Then he notices Ruslo again.
"Oh! Hello, there! What a lovely rope you have! Quite handy, that! Have we met...?"
But before he has a chance to try to remember he notices the room behind Ruslo.
"Well, look, Bobby! A room! Best go in it! That's what they're for, after all!"
Kwannon |
Once she gets to the top of where they can go, she looks around
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
GM Nowruz |
You climb up from the east to the second floor from the outside and end up in the crumbling remains of a room that now is not more than an open landing.
Two doors are visible, one leads to the northwest and one to the southwest.
Judging from the shelves lining the walls, this darkened room might once have been a storeroom, though its contents have long since succumbed to the passage of time.
A crack in the northern wall has apparently let in some rainwater, which has collected in a large puddle on the floor.
Kwannon |
Did I place her in the right place?
Kwannon |
Hooray!
Ruslo |
Ruslo will wait beside his hook and rope while the others climb and helps the others get over the edge. Then he collects his hook and rope.
“Hi old man. Wait up for the rest before we head in.”
Ruslo will head over to the doors to check things out.

Llorva |
Drat! says Llorva. She looks at the situation and realizes she doesn't have much of a shot against the small lizard darting in and out of combat. To make matters more difficult, her comrade Kwannon was standing right in front of the animal! With little choice, Llorva steps back a few feet and tries to angle a shot at the animal despite the small chance of hitting it.

Fuzzzy smiles happily. "Yes, it was quite a nice throw, wasn't it?"
His sword magically appears back in his hand. Fuzzzy's smile gets even bigger.
"Ah! Look at that! I must be a master swordsman!"
Llorva |
Again Llorva is faced with an incredibly difficult shot; Llovra decides to drop her bow again, Draw her sword and move forward to be closer to the macabre Dwarf Rumple.
GM Nowruz |
Ruslo will head over to the doors to check things out.

Does Ruslo hear or see anything?
Ruslo concentrates again and does hear faint voices coming from the other side of the door but it is definitely in a language he does not understand. Ánd the voices are coming nearer ...
GM Nowruz |
Rumple is mesmerized by the lizards last moments. He watches every little twitch and sits down to take more notes.
He is only barely aware of the party around him.
Rumple is really astounded that the coagulation of the lizard's blood is starting unbelievably fast due to electricity running through his body.
Fuzzzy |
Fuzzzy looks at the two doors. "Well, which one should we go through, strange man with a hook? You are my guide, right?"
Looking at Bobby he whispers, "Is he my guide?"
Fuzzzy |
"Ah, of course! How could I forget!"
Looking at Ruslo, Fuzzzy smiles brightly and says clearly, "Lead the way, RUSLO THE PATHFINDER I have only recently met!"
He looks very proud of himself.
Rumple Dergskin |
"Still electrical? Amazing.." mutters the odd little dwarf with a happy expression on his face. He stands and grabs whoever is next to him. "Look at that!" he exclaims excitedly, almost bouncing on his toes.
