Eldak looks down and examines his wound. Huh, guess I should have bought a healing potion. That bug had a serious bite, chomp, mandibles. Perhaps there is something in here that can help, assist, heal. Eldak begins to search the room. perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

The Calistrian pokes the other tengu with a PFS standard issue Wand of Light Curing, MK I Mod 0. She realizes that the Gold-Fisted follower might have a few moral qualms about healing someone who is trespassing, so that dilemma is eased... for now.
CLWW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
"You really should look into investing in one of these in the future. Seriously."
In true form, the wand splutters a bit perhaps indicating Abadar's disliking of the situation? so she hits Eldak again.
CLWW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
She'll offer an apologetic glance to Baied while attempting to help the cleric save face.
"You weren't going to heal for very good reasons, I respect that."
Crazy reasons, but aren't we all sometimes?

As the group searches, Senma crouches down near the bug's remains. He picks up the bits of chalk dust and looks at them curiously. "Chalk bugs? That is so cool. I wonder where I can find some of those!" he remarks.

![]() |

Kaa stares at the two tengu, trying to figure out what they are talking about, then shrugs and wonders off, looking around the room. "Fimbrik? Are you home?"

GM NotEspi |

Shortly after you are done with the bugs, a feather duster appears in the area, clumsily attempting to get rid of the chalk on the sofa, the carpet, and Ophelia. Besides raising another - smaller - dust cloud, it doesn't help much. But the duster seems persistent. Perhaps one day, it will clean the chalk completely.
Near the northern wall, you see a set of something that used to be stairs. Whatever they lead to earlier, however, is filled with newspaper now. Other than that, there are 4 doors in the room. The main entrance you used already; a set of large doors to the west, behind which Baied saw a bedroom; and two smaller ones to the east.
Other than the duster, nobody seems to be responding to any questions you ask or sounds you make.

![]() |

I've seen no one in the bedroom, from the window.
says Baied quickly
So there is no reason to check on that room. I mean, it's even more private than the rest of the house!

![]() |

Ophelia looks at Baied as she talks, shrugs, and heads to one of the other doors. She opens it and peers inside. Northern door of the two to the east.

![]() |

Careful! Check for traps and cast detect magic if you can. Eldak moves to the room next to Ophelia and check for traps.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
If he finds nothing then he opens the door and peers inside.

GM NotEspi |

You don't notice any traps. For now ... Maybe. Just sayin'.
This study contains a round table surrounded by chairs, and the walls are replete with tome-laden bookshelves.
It also contains Fimbrik perusing his book collection. The old gnome's clothing style is wild at best. With his blue hair, green hat, and a vest composed of colours you didn't even know existed. He stands in the room, scanning for specific titles with his index finger. He pays you no mind. Or so it seems.

![]() |

"Mr. Fimbrik? Sorry to disturb you, but we have some questions. Also, your home was infested with bugs..."

![]() |

Senma moves up and taps Fimbrik on the shoulder. "Mister Fimbrik! We need your assistance! We found lots of cool things that mention you!" he remarks.

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Is there something wrong with this gnome?
We are very sorry to intrude, sir, and I'd like to apologise. But we do have urgent questions to ask, and you are the only one who could give us the answers we need
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Baied wasn't at ease, and if the words came naturally, she was still wringling her hands nervously, nearly shaking with nervosity, feeling out of place

![]() |

Kaa, being naturally resistant to mind-affecting things, stares at the gnome in disbelief.
Will Save: 1d20 + 0 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 0 + 2 = 12
"He isss very repetitive. Hey, Mr. Fimbrik! We have quesstions for you."

![]() |

Ophelia stares at the repetitive gnome for a moment.
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
She then moves into the room and waves a hand in front of his face.
"Hello. Mr. Fimbrik?"
If he doesn't respond, she grabs his hand gently to try and get his attention.

![]() |

Not understanding magic, Ophelia passes her hand through the image a few more times.
"This seems to just be a distraction. The documents in the other room are probably worth a look."

![]() |

Eldak nods to Ophelia but continues to rummage throughout the room for anything of value or a clue that would aid in the quest.
What is the purpose behind the illusion? What is going on here?

![]() |

Baied weights the options
Maybe he's not supposed to talk, but to give us clues anyway? We should take care at what titles he is pointing at. Maybe there is a reason for him to use this repetitive illusion. Worth trying, I'll dare say.
Baied looks at the books the unreal gnome points at

GM NotEspi |

The figment of Fimbrik toys with the bookshelf and around the following titles:
Simo Aalto: Trustworthy Trickery - Applied Illusion
Buatier Kolta: Fool's Gold vol. III
Ogawa the Fimble: Vision Materialised
Old Wyrick: Through the Looking Glass
Fimrbik apparently liked his books on the illusion school of magic.

"You'll all want to read these", Ophelia tells the others, matter of factly, and holds out the two papers to the group.

![]() |

Well, I guess we head back to the wall. Lets give the house one more good look over before we leave. Don't want to miss anything that could aid us on this mission.
Eldak sets about looking throughout the house.
Perception check needed?

![]() |

Senma shrugs. "Not really my thing. Perhaps you can taste them to see if they are helpful?" Senma offers to the birdman.
Perception can be used to identify potions, I believe.
"We should look for Arkath's tomb in the Ivy District next!" Senma declares as the tengu grabs the potions. "Let's go!" he yells happily before skipping out into the rain towards that section of town.

![]() |

"Well, then. The plot... thickens. Just like one of those human 'romance novels'. Hopefully not the more distasteful aspects, however.
Follow that Undine!"
The Calistrian will follow Sen...

Details left by Selmius Foster indicate the location of Arkath’s burial site: a plot of land in Eastgate operated by followers of Abadar. Buried in a mausoleum on the church’s property, Arkath paid a substantial sum to have his remains guarded. A fence surrounds the necropolis grounds, and although members of the faith and city guards routinely patrol the property, it is still legal to enter the grounds to respect the departed.
While the gates into the necropolis are left open to those paying their respects, the doors of the mausoleums are sealed with sturdy stone slabs.
When you approach the gate, you see a lone man in the distance - he 's patrolling the grounds and occasionally stops for a quick prayer.

![]() |

Poison wouldn't detect as magical? Hopefully? :D
"Greetings, sir! We are here to pay our respects to the blacksmith!" Senma announces!

![]() |

Feza will sigh a bit at the other tengu's antics, giving a bit of an exasperated fluffing of the feathers.
She keeps her hands away from her whip and blade, watching the scene intently.
"Don't mind, never hurts to be careful and respectful with such things."
There's another squint at Eldak.
Please put the steel away, the man hasn't asked anything unreasonable.

GM NotEspi |

"The Church of Abadar maintains this cemetery. Some of the folks resting here very specifically wished that their resting place is guarded, and made a significant donation to make sure it is so. Arkath was one of those people."
He pauses for a brief moment while you walk towards the tomb.
"Speaking of Arkath, are you related or anything?", he asks, looking at Senma.
