Senma, waits patiently for an answer to the door, while the others seem to investigate.
Ok, I won't spoil anything if you haven't done the investigation!

Probably not going to post much this weekend. Traveling to a convention (not PaizoCon).

"Does anyone want to check one of these windows to see if he is home? " Senma asks.

"So nobody's checked the newspaper in the front door in two years. Safe to say nobody's home."
With that, Ophelia pulls her thieves tools out of her backpack and starts picking the front door lock.

Ophelia takes the initiative and starts working the lock. Within a few short moments, the lock clicks, and is unlocked. Upon opening the door, You immediately see a large stack of newspaper piled near the door. Other than that, the state of the house is pristine. No cobwebs, no dust bunnies, no vermin occupying the house. Everything is clean and neat.
Sets of chairs and tables are arranged throughout the room, and statues of grandiose gnomes occupy the corners of the room.
[spoiler=Perception/Survival 14]
Despite the lack of dust on many surfaces, no one has been here for years. The carpet and sofa show virtually no wear, and the tables are cleaner than ever.

When Baied comes back from her window-peeking , she sees Ophelia working the lock with her tools, and is baffled
What? But...That's illegal! We shouldn't do that! We can't break in and entering! We're not..thieves and burglars! I mean, if we heard someone screaming for help, I would understand, but in today's circumstances.. Why did you did that? We shouldn't get in! Can't you close the door again?
@Ophelia: Sorry, but Baied is Lawful Neutral. ;-)
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Look, the place is spotless!Maybe they are servants coming in to clean the house, and they didn't have orders to check on the newspaper?
Sadly, no Spellcraft skill.^^

Ophelia seems surprised by Baied's reaction.
"It's obvious the place is abandoned. There's no wear in the carpet at all. Maybe magic prevents dust or something. But it's not like we're going in to steal anything. We just need to look around if we're going to find any information."
With that, Ophelia enters and looks around.

Senma happily follows the group in and watches the trained Pathfinders. "We are doing so well! Janira would be proud! " he says aloud in praise.

Baied is still unsure of what to do, wriggling her hands nervously, and stay out of the house so far.
This is trespassing into someone property... Oh Master of the First Vault, what should I do? Would the risks be worth it?

![]() |

Feza glances over to Baied having the crisis of faith. She resists the urge to snicker or snort at the dilemma.
"It may be trespassing, but consider this option -- if you don't watch them, then they might progress from simple trespassing to vandalism, arson, and theft. So you should focus on providing a nice solid legal eye to keep them from going too far astray, right?
I mean, unless you don't care about such things?"
The tengu will watch the half-elven cleric intently.

![]() |

They wouldn't dare! I mean.. they wouldn't, would they?
She still seems to hesitate
I'd better have my eye on them...Oh Abadar, forgive me!
She walk across the threshold, and looks terrified

"There's some writing under here."
Ophelia will push the sofa out of the way so the others can see the chalk drawings.
"Anyone know what that means?

"Enter my property at your own risks"? or even "Beware the ....Aaaargh!" if our unwilling host has a wicked sense of humor?
Baied still feels very uneasy in this house she doesn't own or rent.
Nevertheless, she looks around, trying to ascertain the value of items around her in a feeble attempt to regain her composure.
Appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

GM NotEspi |

As you push the sofa, the chalk disappears in a puff of dust above the carpet. When it settles, you see three bug-like creatures where the circle used to be, their mandibles fiercely biting the air around them. Perhaps, they were summoned at lunchtime and still think their food is there. Each one of the bugs shine like a torch. Should you be tasked to follow these at night, it would be really easy.
There creatures are plain and simple - fire beetles. Though they do have some rather evil-looking carapaces. While being nocturnal, fire beetles can not see in the dark. They are their own source of light. Caged fire beetles are a popular source of long-lasting illumination among eccentrics and miners.
The sofa seems quite comfy, and other furniture seems pleaseant to look at and touch. Fimbrik was apparently a hedonist, as most gnomes are. Given its pristine condition, you probably could find a buyer for some stuff, if you'd really want to. Maybe even the house and property itself. While the furniture is really nice, the owner of the house seems to be out of town for quite a while, and probably took his more pricey possessions with him. At least the ones in this room.
BUT - there is a collection of at least two years old newspaper issues. All of them neatly stored and cleaned. Collectibles?
That being said, I would love to point out an expensive candleholder or something for that roll, but am prevented to do so due to PFS.

Senma, mark one bug. It's dead. Despite cover. Color it red or something. Or just outright remove it from the map.
Senma's arc crackles through the air. One creature (sort of) squeaks and flips over from the shock. Its legs wiggle for a second, then stop. The creature disappears into its plane of existence in a poof of chalk powder.
