Lyle Twigstep |

"Oh COME ON!"
Infuriated at being caught, Lyle leaps up onto the table in front of him, and stabs down at the gawking goblin.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

GM Niles |

Attack-melee(unarmed): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Lyle Twigstep |

Lyle is stabbed twice by the goblins that rush in on him, and he suddenly remembers that he is not a front-line fighter.
"Forget you bastards!"
Parrying as best he can, the grievously injured halfling runs under the table, and to the back of the group.
Disengaging. I'm the red arrow.

GM Niles |

On a crit you only double the base weapon damage, not any modifiers. So it would be 2d6+3

Andrei Brightblade |

Andrei moves to the door way round 1.
Round 2 he moves to next where lyle is retreating from and goes on Full Defense.

Bec D. Corbin |

Bec moves to intercept the goblin and preventing it to chase the already almost dying Lyle.
”Let’s see how you fare ‘gainst me you little!” he yells attacking with his sword with vengeance putting his entire weight against the blow.
Using the feat.
Atk: 1d20 + 6 - 5 ⇒ (20) + 6 - 5 = 21
Dmg: 2d8 + 4 + 10 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 + 10 = 19

Round 3

Goblins
Good guys are a GO

Duncan Esteros |

Duncan takes a step forward and stabs and kicks at the goblin in front of him (Pink?)
Attack-melee(sword): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Attack-melee(unarmed): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

GM Niles |

Duncan always posts first, and his actions resolve last in the initiative order, thus he never gets his kills in!

Lyle Twigstep |

"Hush now my darling, we'll be leaving at first light. Papa's buying you a mockingbird to lull you through the night. Across the den by morning, here's a blanket for you to share. They're building down in Magnimar and I think I'll find work there..."
Despite his injuries, Lyle's rich, sonorous voice strikes an odd counterpoint to the battle as he weaves his hands.
"And the mockingbird can sing like the crying of a dove, and I can't tell my daughters all the things that I'm scared of..."
Sleep: 5d8 ⇒ (3, 8, 2, 3, 6) = 22
Lyle casts sleep behind the grey goblin. It affects 22 hp of creatures in range, starting with the lowest hit points. 20' range, it should be far enough out to get the goblins but not hit Duncan.

Morgran Frostbeard |

Morgran turns to the stricken bard, closing his eye momentarily as he calls on Torag to return the halfling to fighting condition.
cure wound(DoL): 1d8 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 3 = 8
"Come Lyle, we have work to do." Pulling his next handaxe free he turns back to the goblin coming from the other part of the room
Niles if I can still move it will be to where the dead goblin is that is conveniently holding my 1st axe.

GM Niles |

Round 3
Andrei moves up and attacks a goblin but his swing misses.
Bec stabs a goblin but it remains standing
Morgran heals Lyle for 8 and moves to pick up his axe
Lyle casts Sleep and it effects ALL of the goblins, they all slump to the floor unconscious. See Duncan, I told you
Duncan
Goblins
Combat Over, Everyone gets 70XP. You can kill or knock unconscious or otherwise deal with the remaining 3 Goblins as you see fit.

Morgran Frostbeard |

"I've no use for a gaggle on goblins trailin around after us, but no desire to kill em in their sleep either. Do what ye want with em. Although the biggun did seem to be somewhat in charge, might wanna talk to him after a bit. Nice work Lyle with the sleep spell."
Morgran comments to seemingly no one in particular, with the exception of the last part, as he cleans the gore from his axe. Turning the axe over he walks among the sleeping goblins smacking them with the flat of it to make sure they'll not be waking up anytime soon.

Duncan Esteros |

Well what can I say...I have awesome adventuring friends who protect me from harm..lol
Duncan will strip all the goblins of their weapons and possessions, piling it all in the centre of the room.
"I agree with Morgran. We do not need goblins trailing us as we explore. If you want to try and question one, that is fine I guess, otherwise I will take my sword to their necks."

GM Niles |

There were seven goblins, so that's seven rusty scimitars and 7d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 5, 1, 6, 1) = 21 GP in coinage. They have leather armor on...

Duncan Esteros |

Dont think I would strip them of their armor...especially if it was poor quality!
"Well looks like the little rats had a few coins among them. Not much else I am afraid."

Duncan Esteros |

Having searched the bodies, Duncan goes on to search the room, including the door leading out of the tower the creatures slept in.
Will search the bedding, as well as the floor/walls, and then finally the door.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
or
Investigation: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Morgran Frostbeard |

"Duncan settle down a bit, you're not gonna see a thing as fast as your throwing things around. We're watching the doors"
Morgran cautions as the monk starts tossing the room.

GM Niles |

Bec stabs the sleeping goblins, they die hideously.
Duncan searches the room, but finds little except for lice and other pestilential vermin.
Lyle hears voices approaching from the northeast...
Placed annotation on the map

Lyle Twigstep |

Lyle nods as Bec kills the goblins. He then pauses and listens for a moment. He looks to the group, puts a finger to his lips, and points to the northeast.
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Lyle will try an peek around the corner.

GM Niles |

Lyle spots a well armed and armored goblinoid he recognizes as a hobgoblin. It doesn't seem to notice him as it moves forward Hey, you little gits. The boss wants his supper!

Lyle Twigstep |

Lyle ducks back and motions to the rest of the group. He places a finger to his lips. Not making any noise, he points a finger to the northeast, and then makes a mean face and mimes slapping a sword against a shield. He then crouches beside the door, ready to spring on the unsuspecting bad guy.
"We no gits! You git! We eat supper for us!" shrieks Lyle from his hiding place, trying to do his best approximation of a goblin.
Deception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

GM Niles |

2d20 ⇒ (5, 16) = 21 What? You best be making our supper! I'll gut ya. the hobgoblin says, moving up and drawing his sword.
Everyone gets one action before initiative kicks off.

Morgran Frostbeard |

Without a direct line to the door, Morgran steps to his right (above the 7) readying a handaxe to throw when the voice makes an appearance in the doorway.
Readied attack (handaxe): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 missing badly

Andrei Brightblade |

Andrei moves up to take down the hobgoblin.
Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 for 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

GM Niles |

The hobgoblin comes into full view in the doorway and is met by a fusillade of attacks!
Duncan hurls a dart which bounces off the hobgoblin's armor
Morgran hurls an axe, which lodges in the doorframe.
Lyle hides!
Andrei steps up and stabs the hobgoblin in the kidney!
Bec watches it all passively.
Bec: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Andrei: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Morgran: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Duncan
Lyle

Good guys are up

Bec D. Corbin |

I was in a car accident yesterday and unable to post. Also, for courtesy I think you should give us at least Sunday off.
Being hurt and hurting, Bec moves to stay just besides to door.
"Move back!" he yells at Andrey, currently blocking the others from attacking the new enemy.
With that, he stays ready to attack as soon the goblinoid walks into the room.
Atk(Great Weapon Master): 1d20 + 6 - 5 ⇒ (19) + 6 - 5 = 20
Dmg: 1d8 + 4 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 10 = 18

Andrei Brightblade |

Andrei attacks then backs off to allow Bec to attack
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 for 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Morgran Frostbeard |

If he's still standing, Morgran will chuck his remaining handaxe at the hobgoblin. Otherwise he waits for anyone else to stick their head in and throws at them.
handaxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

GM Niles |

Round 1
HG shouts in pain Bastards! and then We've got company! We've got company! and he attacks Andrei hitting the elf for 4
Andrei hacks at the hobgoblin who easily blocks the attack with his shield. Andrei backs up and suffers an opportunity attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 that misses.
Bec moves up and hacks the hobgoblin down into the dirt!
Duncan
Lyle
Morgran
Combat Over...wow that was fast.
Everyone gets 20XP for the hobgoblin, he is wearing Chainmail and a shield as well as a longsword and 1d10 ⇒ 6 GP.
You hear commotion from two spots as the hobgoblin's cry was heard by the denizens of the castle. Map edited

Lyle Twigstep |

Lyle lunges out from his hiding place, and stabs at the air as the hobgoblin collapses.
"Well, that worked out."
He counts out the coins and divides them.
"Good stuff. Let's see if his warning was heard."
Lyle heads out into the passageway the hobgoblin came from, looking northwards.

Morgran Frostbeard |

current XP total BTW is 575.
"Bec this might be a good time to use that potion we found earlier. Sounds like we have company coming from both sides." Morgran advises the big man.
2d4+2 healing from potion

GM Niles |

That seems about right... you should be level 3 or really close to it after you finish this place.
Lyle sees another Hobgoblin appear, this time with a couple of goblins in tow.
Behind them the party hears voices I heard them here! Luupo called out he did! And supper is late!
Everyone has a couple rounds worth of time before the goblinoids arrive to investigate.

Morgran Frostbeard |

Niles can they come through the rubble on either side of the path that Duncan is standing at or is is a funnel effect bringing them to where Duncan is standing?
Lyle, I'm gonna have to hold this spell for the next minute, for that time I will leave any healing needed to you." Looking like Duncan, Andrei and Bec are holding the front lines Morgran begins to mutter quietly "Torag, bless those who would help your servant, protect them from harm and guide their hands against those who would cause us harm.
