Re:Bless Yup 10 rounds, however in 5E the concentration mechanic means that if you take damage you have to roll a save or lose the spell. For a moment, Bec consider if he should be more careful while attacking those new foes. They proved smarter than the goblins, and mostl likely harder to hit as well. However boosted by previous success the thought disappear from his mind as he laughts attacking with reckless abandom.

I'm interested but I'd want to finish the Ebon Destroyers module first (that's roughly halfway through). Don't feel like you have to wait for me if there's sufficient interest however!
My full name is Becarus Delaurentis Corbin, but everybody calls me Bec. I’m a simple farm boy in a six-foot-six-inch, 250-pound frame! I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, and I lack basic social skills and etiquette. But what I lack I make up for in brute strength and endurance. If there is heavy labor or a menial task to be done, I’m the man. Tasks that require finesse and dexterity, on the other hand, aren't my forte; I often break tools with my gnarled, powerful hands. Such duties are best left to others. Papa once asked me to shear a sheep, and the poor creature needed to be put down shortly thereafter! Ever since, I shy away from such delicate creatures.
Shortly after my 18th birthday, I joined the local militia. I enjoy taking orders, and have no desire to climb the ranks of leadership. Although not very skilled at wielding many weapons besides my spear, I make up for formal training with the strength of a bull. The militia taught me the basics of wearing and caring for armor, but I disdain most forms of armor. They are always tight in the chest and arms, and downright uncomfortable.
I’m boisterous, but prefer to use short sentences and simple words. Other folks often confuse me with fancy words and such. Often I feign understanding, and do my own thing anyway, One flex of a powerful arm, and they tend to leave me be. I’m naïve and trusting, and quite shy around pretty women.
Like I've said before 5E is much less "Gotta have all the bases covered by certain classes" than Pathfinder. I mean, you can make a decent party out of 4 fighters in 5E if they all have different backgrounds.
A worn and dusty dwarf entered the tavern in Korvosa, looking for something stronger than water to wash the dust away. Just barely above 4' tall but nearly as wide through the shoulders he wore his chain mail as if it was a second skin. Shield strapped onto his pack and a brace of handaxes at his hip he had the look of a fighter but the stylized warhammer on his shield and necklace, peeking out from his beard, mark him as a cleric of Torag.
trinket:1d100 ⇒ 37
He turns a small stone block over in his hands as he sits in the booth waiting for his drink to come. Brother Darkvein had given it to him as a reminder to always plan. Although weightless the stone represented the cornerstone of a building. With great care and planning the cornerstone is placed and the rest of the building laid from there. Where he would go from here was unknown, yet he knew where he would start. Gundren Rockseeker. He re-read the tattered missive once again as he had manytimes on the trip from Highhelm, he'd come by boat as far as Skelt and then overland through the Mindspin Mountains.
I'll PM each of you with my thoughts on the recuitees and we will pick a couple people to add. Please start working on characters if you haven't done so...

Looks solid, lets take this week to post crunch, review each other's sheets and make sure we have all the bases covered. Now would also be a good time to make a profile and post it here if you haven't
Two Paladins (eventually), whoah, guess I'd better play nice then.
Talking mechanics, don't know how long this is intended to last, but if we get that far I'm either going Enchanter or Illiusionist, can't quite decide which, I'll probably decide when the party dynamics work thesmelves out a bit.
No real plans for advancement otherwise, we've got no actual rogue, so if we seem to be missing the skills I may dip a level or two in there (actually if I do 2 I may as well do 3, given how spellcasting multi-class works). She is supposed to be a rogueish wizard.

Excited to be chosen - suprised that I was chosen with another Paladin in the group. Thanks all. Profile etc should all be ready to rock and roll, including a status bar.
In terms of meshing backgrounds, I've been working for the dwarf Rockseeker on an off on simple jobs before this current job - anyone want to have worked with me before so I don't start as a lone wolf?

That sounds like an awesome idea. If my background wasn't Iomadaen (and I went with the concept I was toying with earlier - a Ragathiel vengence themed paladin) I would also consider a rogue dip. Rogues are not a bad class to dip into and in a longer termed game Assassin/Ragathiel isn't that far off as assassin can be used for bounty hunters and the like as well as the more traditional application.
All that said? You don't NEED to be a rogue in 5th ed. Picking the right background (criminal or your urchin one) gives you access to thieves tools. Rogues can just 'expertise' thieves tools (potentially) is all and so may tend to be better at them. A single level dip would give you expertise at tools and one other skill as well as ye' olde sneak attack.
Food for thought - some trap disarming may not be dexterity based but Int based as well. Not bad for a wizard with your urchin based larcenious/felonious background.
Ok, I've given a quick pass over the sheets posted
Lyle (Bard): Skills in bard stuff and deception/stealth
Morgran(Cleric): Skills in Insight, Animal Handling, Medicine and Survival
Bec (Fighter) note:Please use the format that Andrei or Lyle uses for their sheet, it makes a ton of sense for me I don't have any info because skills aren't picked out.
Ynara (Wizard): Skills Insight, Medicine, Sleight of hand, Stealth Disguise Kit, Thieves Tools (Some overlap here with Medicine, Insight. Might I suggest Intelligence based skills)
Andrei (Paladin): Athletics, Intimidation, Perception (Darkvision)
Something of note: Intelligence based skills seem lacking Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature, Religion
Also, Lyle you should know that Dex to attack and damage are a built in thing in 5E using any "finesse" weapon.
Quote from PHB:
You add your Dexterity modifier to your attack roll and
your damage roll when attacking with a ranged weapon,
such as a sling or a longbow. You can also add your
Dexterity modifier to your attack roll and your damage
roll when attacking with a melee weapon that has the
finesse property, such as a dagger or a rapier.

Okay, made some adjustments and added the finesse bonuses. Tweaked Lyle's skills so that he now has Deception, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, Persuasion, and Performance. Added a location nonspecific background since I don't know where we are.
Changed alignment to CN to better reflect his personality. He's supremely self-interested and has no issue in taking advantage of people, and hates authority. However he will die for a friend or anyone who has shown him kindness or loyalty.
We will be beginning in Varisia, specifically on the road from Korvosa to a small town called Phandalin.
Here is the intro, you guys can work it in or find some other reason to be guarding a small caravan of goods from Korvosa to Phandalin.
Meet me in Phandalin:
The characters begin in the city of Korvosa and when their Dwarven patron Gundren Rockseeker sends them to escort a wagon to Phandalin, a small town of humans and gnomes on the headwaters of Conquerors Bay, along the Crimson Coast road. Gundren has gone ahead to take care of business in the town while the characters follow with the metalware and supplies. The characters will be paid 10GP each to deliver the wagon of supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions in Phandalin.

Sure, Lyle could have worked with Andrei on any number of jobs. Since they're not starting out particularly rich, maybe something none too spectacular like busting up a Korvosan street gang or even just chasing off a monster that was terrorizing a farm.

"Rockseeker spat on the ground as he regarded the 4 youths in front of him.
Ye feckin' want what noo? Gilt t' stop m' wagon from gettin' looted?
The dwarf regarded the gang and then smiled grimly.
Ye ain't scary at all - now THESE gents?, he indicated Lyle and Andrei who had stepped down from the wagon. These gents be scary - an' ye be wrong ifn' ye be thinkin' th' halfling be the softer o' th' two
Thats when one of the gang made the mistake of trying to kick the legs from under Rockseeker.
Pain happened. Lots and lots of pain.
Andrei learned something about his new companion - he had a frightful temper! Where the warrior addressed his pair of youths as opponents as objectives - 'not quite' enemies to be taken down, the little halfling flushed a dreadful shade of scarlet and became a wild man - screaming, yelling, groin punching and kicking his foes dreadfully once they hit the cobbles.
The end result was a grim one for the wannabe standover men - while both Andrei and Lyle had taken their fair share of hits - Andrei sported a wonderful example of a blackening eye - the young men lay groaning on the street in relatively short order."
-- Hows that Lyle?
Anyone else want in on this fight? I can increase the number of gang members and extend the story easily enough.
