Morgran casts a spell at the goblin and 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 the Goblin is burned, it squeals in pain its laughter ceasing.
Bec watches for incoming creatures, of which there are none.
Goblin snatches up another Javelin and hurls it at Morgran, spitting curses at the Dwarf Javelin: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 but this javelin too is very inaccurate.

You hear the sound of wood breaking and water coming....if you succeed on an INT check DC 5 you know that someone has dammed the stream and just set loose that water to wash you away.

Chanting quickly, Lyle points over to Andrei, casting a healing charm.

well I know I started a post last night not sure what's up

Morgran chuckles as the goblin gets his backside singed. Hearing a commotion behind him as Andrei comes sliding back down he moves across the stream to assist them.

perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

acrobatics(aid): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4

Andrei climbs up the embankment again...
Lyle heals Andrei for 5 after going up the rubble to the West with him..

Round 3
Morgran crosses the stream to stand behind Andrei
Bec charges up the slope of the cavern, Torch in hand!He rounds the corner and raises a shout There's more of the bastards! And they are about to..
Goblin the four goblins working in concert to undam their little steam finally succeed and a wall of water washes down the river
Bec: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 is washed down the river and takes 1d6 ⇒ 1 damage. His torch is now useless, but he manages to hold onto his sword as he is dumped prone at the cavern entrance.
Morgran: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3Morgran: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 tries to dodge up the embankment of the river but slips, however he manages to grab hold of a rock and the water washes by him, leaving him standing!
Andrei: 1d20 ⇒ 12manages to stay out of the water entirely.
The goblin on the bridge is so busy laughing at Bec, he can't manage to hurl another javelin.

From the cave entrance the big man bellows "That ain't funny!" he gets up and try to leave the water and find a dry torch in his pack. He isn't going inside again in the darkness, with the little devils outside reach.

Andrei drops his torch for others to pick up and draws his shield back into place and moves 10 ft down the corridor careful for collapsing embankments.

Morgran moves up the embankment trying to reach the upper flats.

Looking to his right he sends another bit of flame at the approaching pesky goblin.

standard - cast sacred flame DC13 damage if failed: 1d8 ⇒ 1 what is it with 1d8's I think that is my 3rd '1' in a row

Niles, if I'm reading the map right Morgran can make it to the end of the second arrow (10' up the embankment and 15' more down the passage) Morgran's icon is half in the square at the bottom of the embankment, assuming he would start from that square.

if above supposition is correct:
Morgran advances on the goblin, shield to the fore and war hammer at the ready.

Sacred Flame sucks as a spell - there is another level 1 spell that requires a to hit roll but does 4d6 dmg plus grants advantage

Guiding bolt, I have it but only 2 1st level spells per day/long rest; don't really want to waste it on a goblin guard. Sacred Flame is a cantrip, not great but with -1 on dex a decent ranged attack, and spammable when at a distance. - at least when Niles isn't using the dice roller ;)

Lyle rushes out of his hiding place and starts chanting as he points to Andrei.

"We're being embarrassed! Go forth and make your Goddess proud and strew the ground with the heads of these toothy bastards!"

Andrei gains bardic inspiration. A bonus d6 to any attack roll, skill check, or save of his choice in the next 10 minutes.


Human Fighter

"I got it, I got it!" Bec yells from the cave entrance as he moves again to meet his fellow partners. It was time to smash some goblin heads!

Andrei moves up the corridor and looks around.

Andrei drops his torch which splutters but doesn't go out. He draws his shield and moves into the corridor. He sees a larger Goblin standing over an unconscious figure. Duncan that's you!
Lyle gives Andrei some inspiration and moves behind him.

Round 5
Morgran moves up and casts his spell 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 which the goblin resists.
Bec double moves as a rearguard!

Purple skitters forward and attacks Morgran 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 hitting the Dwarf for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Red and Yellow move forward and engage Bec.
Purple and Green both draw their little shortbows and fire them at Bec, who is partially protected by the cave wall! They have disadvantage 2d20 ⇒ (18, 8) = 26 2d20 ⇒ (7, 20) = 27 with a +4 to attack and both arrows miss Bec!

"Bec! Get up here, draw the goblins into the tunnel and you only have to deal with one at a time!" calls out Lyle.

Seeing the east and north passages blocked, Lyle simply waits to see how the goblins move and react.

"The little devils got bows!" Bec yells from the tunnel entrance, even if he fled, the goblins would be able to attack from afar, Lyle advice seemed a good one tho.

Bec attacks with his sword, while taking a step back, moving near the group.

"Dammit, hold still" he mutters as the goblin sidesteps the hammer.

Edit: Correction. I can't attack without drawing an AoO. I move up closer, still yelling at the unconcious figure and continue with a defensive stance.

@GM, ouch, that hurt. I wanted to take a 5ft step behind, but I'm not sure if that exists in 5ed. :(

He never believed that the little devils would be able to hurt him so. Dropping the torch and hopping it keeps burning, Bec takes out his shield. The little bugger would learn now. Keeping an eye out for attacks, Bec keeps ready to dodge any attack.

"Hey, little help here. Can't keep this up, the devils are eating me alive."

Move to take out the shield and Dodge to avoid attacks.

Lyle steps southwards, yanking a dagger out of his boot before attempting to hurl it past Bec and into the red goblin.

Grunting in frustration, Morgran reverses his swing angling to catch the goblin from the side.


Encounter Map

5' steps do not exist in 5E thank goodness. The ONLY time you provoke an AoO is leaving an enemies threat range. Moving within it, moving into it, casting spells, ranged attacks...none of those provoke. @Andrei, you could attack without an AoO since you aren't leaving the goblins threatened square.

Lyle grins as the goblin pitches forward, and then he hears the call for a truce.

"Allow me!" he shouts.

Lyle rushes towards the goblin leader, speaking rapidly.

"You call for truce we stop killing, but you put down weapons! You attacked a caravan and we have questions. Talk, no fight. I promise no killing if you put down weapons. I speak for big people. Understand?"

Humans still have weapons. Cragmaw keep weapons. Humans put weapons down, Cragmaw put weapons down.

Insight DC 9:
The Goblin has no intention of putting his weapon down.

Humans kill Klarg, Klarg make us attack humans on trail. Humans kill Klarg and Yeemik be boss. the goblin, ostensibly known as Yeemik, points to the far away tunnel.

I moved everyone closer in on the map.
