Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Cameron finds it hard to tell if the man is speaking truth or simply out of desperation...
Somewhat callously he asks Bojask, "And why should we believe you?"

Natalya Artemisa |

Natalya sighs
Just tell us then, we'll either be of good heart and spare you for the information, or else of black heart and would have killed you anyway...

DM Lil" Eschie |

I propose a trade. A life for a life. My life, about which you never cared so far, and my freedom, against the life of someone you care for. But be quick to chose, because you don't have much time. And if you think Im black hearted, you haven't seen the worst of what Riddleport has to offer. And forgive me if I don't take your word: I want to be out of this place, with my stuff, before I say a word of what I know.Or else you can let your whipgirl do what she wants to do, and I'll bring my little secret to my grave.
If you let me go, I'll tell you everything I know about Saul's deadly plans. I'm ready to swear to whatever god you want.
Bojask waits for your answer, nervously, but as far as you can tell, he's telling the truth.

Therric Morant |

Noticing the confused look on Nessa's face, the squire tilts his head in realization. "You've never had anyone do that for you before?"

Therric Morant |

He gently puts a hand on her chin and turns her head to meet his eyes. "Well... my offer isn't any less serious. I want to treat you like a lady."

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Cameron tightens the grip on his spear and gets ready to run Bojask through. He gives him one last chance, telling him cold, "No Bojask, it doesn't work that way. My terms are you tell us everything now or I'll kill you myself."
No bluff needed here, he means it.

Natalya Artemisa |

Male bravado, do you really value your life so poorly Bojask? A man like you could find work in another city, maybe even run your own place. Come on, just let us in on what you know...
diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Ah well, at least she tried :p

Nessa returned to the room just after Alayna finished of Bojask, her skin was flushed but not in the way it normally was after she tickled her lust bug, this was obviously different as she seemed...embarrassed? She looked at the dead man for a brief moment and then turned back to the others, "So, did he say anything useful before he died?"

Zahel Greyhawk |

Zahel looked down on Bojask's corpse, and sighed deeply. He could have had valuable informations. Or even be turned against Saul as a witness. On the other hand, he certainly wouldn't mourn a remorseless killer.
"Unfortunately, not so much. I'll look for the corpses of Saul's victims."
The half-elf was unusually tense, probably infuriated to have heard the confirmation of Larur's death.

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Cameron tensed to thrust his spear through Bojask's belly. The pig certainly deserved it, it was his duty to avenge Larur. Yet Cameron hesitated. Alayna stepped in and gave Bojask his due.
Cameron thought bitterly, 'A coward then, still better than a murderer I suppose.'
He was lost in bitter thoughts will Nessa's voice brought him back to the present, "Uhh I dunno he had some tall story about Saul. Claimed he was planning to kill somebody we cared about. You know the stupid thing, if he had volunteered the information I'd have let him go. But he was stubborn and got what was coming to him. I can only hope it was all lies."
Perception: Uh is there any loot here? - looking specifically at the box: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Therric Morant |

"...well, whatever the case, we're going to have to find Saul now. If he is planning something like that, we need to find him and convince him otherwise." Therric draws his scimitar for emphasis.

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Yeah we probably should. Too bad Cameron's utterly spent.

Nessa Meretrix |

Hearing what Bojask said Saul was planning to do her expression changed to one of abject terror. Her eyes were wide with fright and she cried out, "Sylee!" She started to head for the way back out, "I have to get home, now!" She began to quickly make her way back outside towards the streets to make as quick a return to Caithlin's as possible to check on her daughter.

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Cameron wants to do both ;) The timeline is confusing due to the PbP nature but if this had been a table top game, he would have started looking before Nessa came in. Obviously once she's run off he's going to have to follow her.

Natalya Artemisa |

Yup, completely with Cameron on this!
Natalya had begun to poke around the room to see what Bojask might have been hiding, but as soon as Nessa runs off, she immediately hikes up her skirts and runs after her.

DM Lil" Eschie |

Supposing one of you use Detect magic, and common sense
You find on Bojask's cooling corpse two potions.
His battleaxe and one of his handaxes are top-notch quality, and his chain shirt is magical.
There is a small pouch of money 43 GP
Then you hear Nessa screaming something about Sylee, and running away

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Cameron distributes their ill gotten gains among those in the room and then Nessa asks her question and runs off in a panic. Cameron takes off after her, if Saul truly was up to something they'd all be needed. He had long suspected Saul was up to no good, and that he was behind the assassination attempts. His blood ran cold thinking of what he might be doing.

Alayna Rochelle |

Alayna catches on what Nessa saw first and follows the demon-girl out of the cellar. Well, if we're going to fight n' die, it'll be for a cause worthy! Once she catches up to Nessa, she doesn't slow down but says as she runs, "The bastard cannae get to her easy, you chose a good foster. But let's get in an' make sure her port is still safe!"

DM Lil" Eschie |

Streets...
So many streets.
So little time?
The house of Caithlinn looked so close everytime you went to it, and now, in the middle of the night, it looks so far!
Nessa has never ran so fast, and her lungs burn, her muscles ache, but nothing can stop her. Houses pass in a blur.
Finally, Caithlinn's house.
All seems quiet.
Bodies down in the street. Five of them. One more little than the others.
Who?
Blood. Everywhere.
Whose?
Hard to tell.
Harder not to know.
Will Nessa dare to check?

Nessa Meretrix |

Nessa gave a cry of panic when she saw the bodies, especially the smaller one. Despite the burning of her lungs she redoubled her pace to reach them, praying to her goddess that she was wrong the whole time. She stopped at the smallest of them and made herself look despite the terror she felt clutching at her chest.

DM Lil" Eschie |

Nessa Meretrix |

With a sigh of relief Nessa moved quickly to Caithlinn's house and gave the knock she'd been taught long ago to identify herself if there was trouble. She then watched the streets carefully for trouble as she huddled as close to the side of the door as she could and waited for entrance to be granted.

Nessa Meretrix |

Nessa nodded and said, "My friends are coming, please watch for them and let them in when they arrive. Now, where's Sylee?"

DM Lil" Eschie |

Runter answers
They are upstairs, with Mommy. I don't think think Sylee has heard or seen anything. The mage, Samaritha, she put her back to sleep with a spell as soon as things got ugly in the streets.
You see that Runter still holds a bloodless meat cleaver in his free hand
Get upstairs now, but don't be afraid for your daughter anymore. She's safe. I'll welcome your friends when they arrive.

Nessa Meretrix |

Nessa threw her arms around Rutter in a quick hug and said, "Thanks you brother." She went up the stairs quietly to where Caithlinn's room was and entered quietly. She made her way quickly to Sylee and sat, gently stroking the girl's hair as she asked Caithlinn and Samaritha quietly, "What happened out there?"

DM Lil" Eschie |

Caithlinn answers, in ushered tones
We'll talk later, downstairs. Take some time with her, but let her sleep.
With these few words, Caithlinn and Samaritha leave Sylee with her mother, going downstairs as silently as possible.
Nessa is still very nervous, and the tiredness of the running suddenly comes back, wracking her body with pain but seeing Sylee sleeping seems to soothe her anyway.

Nessa Meretrix |

Though worried about events Nessa nodded and lay down with her daughter. She pulled the little girl into her arms, wrapped her wings about them, and then pulled the covers up with her tail to cover them both. While she didn't plan on it the tiefling quickly dropped off to sleep as her adrenaline wore off and left her exhausted.

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Cameron couldn't believe how fast Nessa had moved, he was sprinting but still loosing ground. He lost sight of her entering the street where Caithlynn's house was. Ahead a gasp, making the hairs on his neck stand up. Tearing round the corner, Cameron saw the bodies sprawled on the floor.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Spear in hand, he casts around looking for any attackers. Not seeing any he whispers a short prayer to Desna and stoops down to check if any of them by some fluke are still alive.
Heal: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 1 = 13

DM Lil" Eschie |

Cameron quickly check the bodies. All are dead, most by a single wound.
They seem to be a ragtag of rogues and lowlife fighters.
Caithlinn answers
I haven't seen who attacked us, Cameron. Just heard the sounds of a fight in the street, so close to my home.

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Looking very sad, Cameron whispers to her, "A little too close to home I think, they got Runter and one of your cooks and some others I don't recognize. Whoever did this seems skilled, they were mostly killed with a single blow. Not that its much compensation, but at least it was quick."

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Ah sorry I had that mixed up then. Lets assume he said: "A little too close to home I think, I'm sorry but they got Runter. He made a good account for himself, killing five thugs."

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Ah yeah nevermind. I'm obviously not reading things straight today :(

Natalya Artemisa |

*Pats Cameron on the shoulder* it's ok don't worry :)
Natalya makes a quick circuit of the house to ensure that all the other doors and windows are locked, and nothing is lurking in the cellar or any of the wardrobes. Once done she starts to brew some tea, wordlessly making several pots and handing out cups so everyone has been served.

DM Lil" Eschie |

It happens. But it's funnier when it doesn't happen to me.^^
Samaritha excuses herself to the kitchen, saying she need a drink.
She seems still shocked, and suddenly runs to the toilets, a hand over her mouth.
Runter keeps an eye on the street, his knuckles white from holding his meat cleaver.
Caithlinn invites you to the living room. She looks tired, and frail.
