Hal'dorel aka "Hal Greenwater" |

.
.
.
Sorry for the absence, I'm rolling 1s on my Acrobatics check to mange multiple games. :(
Hal raises a hand to call for silence as Inceku alerts to a potential danger ahead. With his keen elf-sight he spots movement in the bushes and trees.
"Ambush!" Hal'dorel warns and shifts left to get off the road and the line of fire, loosing an arrow (if able) towards one of the bandits.
To his side he commands in elvish, "Inceku, heel!"
Actions
》Move left
》Longbow: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 = 18 (+2 vs humans)
》》Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 = 9
》》》(+1 to hit & damage if within 30 ft)
》Free Action - Call Out
Edit: Thanks Alayna. I've adjusted accordingly. Your reminder even jogged my memory on my Point Blank bonuses too!

Alayna Rochelle |

Alayna, never one to shy away, moves towards the would be bandits. Her whip flies off of her hip and she brandishes it *Whiish-CRACK* - "You'd do well to set 'em down lads! I dannae think the Elf has a hankerin' for apologies after!"
Move close enough to let 'em have a lash if they don't surrender.
Hal, I think your Ranger's Fav Enemy applies to damage as well :)

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Cameron frowns knowing he should be doing something but not quite able to get off the starting block.
There is a campaign overview page that I find super useful for keeping up to date. The url is in the form: http://paizo.com/people/YOUR-NAME/campaigns

Nessa Meretrix |

DM Lil" Eschie |

The terrain is rough (steep slope, movement halved) and your opponents are higher than you on the side, half hidden by some boulders.(getting a +1 attack bonus in melee only and partial cover bonus: +2 on AC and +1 on Reflex saves)
Hal Dorel arrow flies and strikes true, killing one of the three highwaymen. The two other send their javelins on the elf, to avenge their comrade maybe
Javelin1, AC16: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14Dmg Jav1: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Javelin2, AC16: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20Dmg Jav2: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The first javelin comes close, but the second hits the elf right in the chest. Blood pours from the heavy wound

Hal'dorel aka "Hal Greenwater" |

.
.
.
Hal hisses in anger and clutches at his chest. He dives left to seek cover behind a boulder and nurse his wound. The ranger immediately searches their flanks for additional threats then calls out to Cameron in elvish.
...
"One is dead, two more up the hill clutched together. Spread out to surround!" He sucks in a painful breath.
》Seeking Cover (+? AC) | Going Full Defensive (+2 AC)
》Perception: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 = 22 (vs humans) - Searching

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Gripping his longspear tightly, Cameron bellows "APPROACH!"
The power of command resonates in his voice as he moves forward to meet them.
Cameron spontaneously casts COMMAND DC 14 will save on one of the bandits. He sacrificed True Strike to do so. He then moves forward to meet them, hoping to get an AOO!

Dolgrin Hammerfist |

DM Lil" Eschie |

Cameron remembers one of his uncle Milon's wise teaching, when he studied to become a priest
Even a priest of Desna can run out of luck sometimes.
Maybe that wasn't the best of plans. But it could have worked. At least Hal Dorel is partially protected now, and Cameron is an easier target.Maybe it is Hal Dorel lucky day...
Will try to give you a map this week end. Hal now has partial cover too.

Borgmurch |

This usually changes when foes realize he’s a goblin.
Borgmurch gets an small arrow nocked in no time at all, and lets loose a half-breath later.
As he starts to fight for his life, he pays homage to the time-honored tradition of goblin war songs.
“You shouldn’t try to take my gold!
Better alive than dead and cold!”
A toothy, threatening grin opens on his face when the arrow hits the target.

Move action: draw longbow and move, if possible within 30 ft;
Standard action: longbow attack
longbow attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 +1 if within 30 ft
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3 +1 if within 30 ft

Nessa Meretrix |

Knowledge (local): 1d20 ⇒ 9
Diplomacy (gather info): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

DM Lil" Eschie |

Unfortunatly, Alayna, you're too far to hit them with your whip
Seeing that the"ambush" is turning into a disaster, the two remaining bandits turn away from you and start running, one clutching his side where the goblin's arrow hit him, leaving their dead comrade to rot.

Nessa Meretrix |

Dolgrin Hammerfist |

"Thanks for the tour, at any rate."

DM Lil" Eschie |

Perception, Dolgrin: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 vs Sneakies: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Init, Nessa: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Init, Dolgrin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 vs Init, Not so sneakies : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
If theres' a fight, you have full AC (no surprise), and Dolgrin can act before the thieves, then Nessa

Nessa Meretrix |

At anytime, if the thugs are both within a fifteen foot cone and are acting aggressive I will cast color spray on them provided I won't hit Dolgrin with it (I will take a 5 foot back if needed to avoid the aoo), if they want to fight, then let's start it off right. If they don't attack I will talk with them.

Alayna Rochelle |

Alayna laughs at the foolishness of some people. "Really?! If yer not willin' ta take a drubbin' don't come askin' fer one!" She turns back to the rest of the group and realizes Hal is hurt. "Are ya ok, mate?"

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Although Hal is out of danger, Cameron seems slightly disappointed by the results as if he'd been hoping for more... I wonder if it was a mistake taking the alternate channeling. Ah well I'll buy a wand of CLW as soon as possible.
With a sigh Cameron asks the others, "With any luck they won't be back. I suppose I should say a prayer for this fool, but given the circumstances I'd rather not spend the time to bury him."
Cameron whispers a quick prayer to usher the man's soul on for judgement and then he picks himself up and suggests, "[b]Shall we continue?"[/dice]
Perception - quick check to see if the man had any forms of ID on him: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

DM Lil" Eschie |

Nessa, could you roll for Intimidate attempt? I'm giving you a +2 bonus, as they didn't expected to be seen, and for your strange appearance. Of course, Dolgrin can try to Intimidate too, or try to help you roll (or Nessa can try to help Dolgrin's roll, with the added bonus)
You find 4 GP and 11 SP, and an used handaxe, a bloodied leather armor

Nessa Meretrix |

As I wasn't actually trying to intimidate them I didn't roll it, but since you asked.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
See, not intimidating them at all. Probably be better off flashing them.

Dolgrin Hammerfist |

Intimidate (aid): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8 If the +2 applies to the aid roll, then it's a success, otherwise, not so much. Maybe they're low HD, low WIS folks and so easy to terrorize...

DM Lil" Eschie |

Just give us your money and whatever you bought in the shop. You stayed too long inside just to have a look.
The second one looks at Nessa with a mix of disgust and lust
Maybe I could cut those nasty wings of yours, too, and send you back to whatever hell spat you out..after I had some fun with you.
As I said, Dolgrin will act first, then the thugs, then Nessa

Dolgrin Hammerfist |

Free: Rage
Full Round: Charge the cutter.
1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 2 = 18
1d10 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Hal'dorel aka "Hal Greenwater" |

.
.
.
Hal'dorel grinds his teeth in frustration, more from the indignity of being wounded by a human...and a filthy sort to be sure! Grunting he accepts Cameron's healing and nods gratitude. The bloody wound closes but there are still angry welts and bruising left behind. When Cameron looks disappointed, Hal simply shrugs. "It's no less than I deserve for being taken unawares. I consider it just punishment."
During the process, Inceku sits patiently in front of the elf, head cocked to the side. The dog studies him, his aloof demeanor a picture of pity for Hal. The gesture brings a strange grin to the elf's face.
At Alayna's query he waves off her concern. "As I said, this wound is payment due for my lax attentions on the path. I'll mend."
"Let us continue for a while longer. Inceku still has your uncle's scent." But as it becomes clear that the further along the trail they go, the fainter the remnants of his passing become, Hal calls a halt to their progress. He lands down and gives Inceku a reassuring pat. Then to the others, "To continue now would be folly. We need more supplies, perhaps a divining as well," The last is for Cameron. "The trail is cold."
As they decide on the best course of action, Hal attempts to keep a lookout for danger.
》Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Alayna Rochelle |

"A fine way t be lookin' but better to have less tax and more grog." Hal's explanation suits her and she returns to the march across the hills. "The best thing 'ere is no wind means becalmed on the water no matter. 'Sides, this is a better view than any crow's nest." She sweeps her arm across a vista, showing a valley dotted with farms.

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Cameron can't keep the worry from his voice when he replies to Hal, saying "Aye I suspect you're right. I mean to come back but it's clear we'd need much time off to make any real progress. A divination to set us on the right path wouldn't hurt, but in truth we'd need quite a powerful one since we have so little information to go on..." Left unsaid, was that such a divination would be difficult and likely expensive to obtain.

DM Lil" Eschie |

Inceku whines and yelps, pawing at the ground, trying to get Hal Dorel attention
......................................................................
Meanwhile,in Riddleport
The first thug who dared to get closer is charged by an irate ax-wielding dwarf, and is dead before hiding the muddy ground, in an explosion of gore and blood
The second thug pales, lets go of his dagger and turn heels to escape
Nessa can still act, but Dolgrin's charge means that the dwarf will get caught in the intended Color Spray

Nessa Meretrix |

Oh no he didn't just call me hellspawn.
Nessa, to pissed to care that the one is dead already, screeches out, "I AM NOT HELLSPAWN YOU LITTLE SHIT!"
She moves up, and gets on the other side of the guy then, to the man's likely horror, a pair of fang pop out in her mouth as she tries to bite him.
I try to flank, taking an AoO if I have to and then use serpent's fang to bite him.
Serpent's Bite (+2 if flank): 1d20 ⇒ 71d4 ⇒ 4
Poison deals 1 con damage (dc 12 fort) 1/round for 6 rounds 1 save removes.
She moves closer and hits him with a spray of color from her hands.
Move so that Dolgrin is out of the effect and cast color spray.
Nessa begins casting, the movements and words sounding lethargic.
Casting sleep, when it goes off, if he is still in range, I will drop it on the thug and then deal with him.

Nessa Meretrix |

Yay! Now, what to do to hom. Mwahahahaha!
Nessa stalks up to the now sleeping man, "Now, what should your fate for threatening an Abbas be hmm? Death is too good for you. Ah, I know. Dolgrin, help me out would you please?" Nessa quickly strips the thug of his clothes and gear, taking his money, and shreds what looks to be his most valued item with her claws. She straddles his body and wakes him up with a bite from her fangs, "You are the lamest excuse for a thug I've ever met. We could have had fun but nooooo, you had to go and call me hellspawn. Remember this, never threaten an abbes, we'll always make you our b*%+~." She gets off of him, leaving the man in the street naked and humiliated. "Shall we leave Dolgrin? I've played enough for today."
Bite damage (he's helpless) plus dc12 fort for poison: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Ain't I vicious. }-)

Dolgrin Hammerfist |

Dolgrin grunts, releasing his rage, leaning on his axe to catch his breath, as the other man is taken down by Nessa's spell and then bitten. Poor lad. Wasn't even the one who made that association aloud. Guilt by association, I suppose... I expect he'll think twice about his chosen vocation, however. Shaking his head with a grim smirk, he examines the remains of the one he had struck down.

Dolgrin Hammerfist |

As Dolgrin pockets the meagre funds from the man he slew, he growls and looks down at his own pouch, beginning to curse loudly in dwarvish. He looks around the area in vain, knowing that the loss must have occurred some other time. "Some damn pickpocket got to me, damnit!" He gives the nearby corpse an angry kick.

Nessa Meretrix |

Seeing Dolgrin's distress, Nessa saunters over to him, and leans down, giving him a hug and kissing the top of his head, "Thank you for your heroic rescue Dolgrin, I am very grateful, I'll do most anything to thank you, and I mean anything. Of course, if I don't interest you, I think there is a rather dirty dwarvish girl serving at my temple, I bet she would love to rub some dirt on you if I asked her." Hearing him complain about his missing money, Nessa asks him, [b]"How much did they take from you Dolgrin?"

Hal'dorel aka "Hal Greenwater" |

.
.
.
"What is it, Inceku." Hal'dorel crouched down, wincing at the pain still in his chest from the javelin wound. He touches the ground where the dog is pawing then looks in the direction he indicates. "Show me."
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 (+2 vs humans)
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 (direct him to lead)

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Not wanting to interrupt, Cameron gives Hal space to work with Inceku. He does his best to stay alert but his mind is racing trying to figure out the significance of the day's events.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Dolgrin Hammerfist |

Streetz
Dolgrin blows air through his beard in shock at the interesting view Nessa gave as she leaned over to kiss the top of his head alongside her words of gratitude, his loss of funds momentarily forgotten. "Erm... You're welcome...," he says, momentarily at a loss for words.
His eyes flare as the tiefling brings the subject back to the theft. "Eight gold...," he growled. "Most of what I made from guarding the fop... and I'm sure I'll never see those coins again. I suppose, I'll just have to earn more... and find a better place to stash it."

Nessa Meretrix |

Getting out her money, Nessa gives Dolgrin 8 pieces of gold, "There are few willing to risk themselves for my kind Dolgrin. So as payment for services rendered my friend." She gives him an arch look and leans in again so he has the enticingly distracting view, "Unless you'd like a different form of repayment."

Dolgrin Hammerfist |

Dolgrin licks his lips, staring at the distracting view, running his hand through the hair on his head. The dwarf had been something of an outcast among other dwarves, not just because of his grandfather but also as his studies into the nature of evil kept him isolated. This creature, an offspring of vileness, with obvious traits associated with her demonic patronage... the beautiful dichotomy intrigued him... and her sensual nature certainly didn't interfere... Still... there are other things to attend to... aren't there?
"Save your coin, miss," he said, closing her hand around the coins and gently pushing them back towards her. "I have no real need of it and can easily earn more. Spend it on another pretty bauble. Perhaps it is time to return to the casino anyhow," he continued looking around. "We don't need to attract more unwanted attention."

Nessa Meretrix |

Seeing the emotions and desire behind hos eyea Nessa thinks, I can have him if I try, the seduction could be quite fun. The question is do I want him or not? Hmm, I must think on thar." Standing back up Nessa get a her bearings, "We go this way to gey back to the casino."

Hal'dorel aka "Hal Greenwater" |

.
Out on the Trail
.
Hal couches down next to Inceku and gives him a reassuring scratch followed by a bit of dried meat from his pouch. Then he spies the soiled and bloodied clothing.
To Cameron he holds up the items, a grim turn to the corner of his mouth. "Inceku has pointed this clothing out, a sign he's found more of the scent marker..." The elf takes a moment, the silence a rare expression of pity. The possibility of lost family is never easy. "If this is a frequented ambush site for those bandits...then it may be they know more about your Uncle's fate."
@GM: Bit of a retcon here if possible. Could Hal'dorel see if the ambush spot in the rocks had been of frequent use?
》Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 (scanning the ground)

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Cameron frowns at the grim discovery, "I've never been one for worrying overly about laws, but this... This blatant banditry can't be allowed! I doubt we have time today, but we should come back and hunt them down like the animals they are."
Realizing he's ranting, Cameron paces for a bit to cool down and with a heavy sigh he admits, "I doubt we'll find Milon alive now. Still with your help he can be avenged... But not today, we made a promise to Saul and we should keep in." You can tell that Cameron is very upset but is putting a brave face on it.

DM Lil" Eschie |

As far as Hal Dorel can tell, it's the first and only time this place was used as a "burial site" for dirty and bloodied clothes. There is no body, or trace from a body, even if you extend your research around.
The mystery is not only still whole, but takes a darker meaning.
not relevant, Cameron, but I looked for your Harrowed feat, and im allowing it.Sorry for the delay.
..........................................................................
In Riddleport, the rest of the day stays uneventful. You come back to the casino without any problem.
The dwarf manager simply nods when you come back , and says something to Dolgrin in their native langage, making guttural sounds
Надежда вы не имела никакую неприятность с тем . Она не то, что вы могли бы вызывать традиционного карликового помощника души, и ее внешность может бросать опасение как похоть в обеспокоенных сердцах.

Nessa Meretrix |

arriving back at the casino, Nessa leans down again to give Dolgrin that enticing view once more, "Thanks again Dolgrin," she says in her sultry voice, "We should do it again sometime." She manages to somehow kiss his lips this time, her serpentine, forked, tongue teasing his lips before she stands up and almost skips off with a laugh, "See you in a bit, I need to change for tonight."

Dolgrin Hammerfist |

"Anytime, Nessa," he replies with a crooked smile, his eyes appreciatively taking in her enticements as well as her more demonic assets.
Dolgrin glances and nods at the manager before turning back to watch the tiefling skip off to her room. "Простопару бандитов и карманника . Нет беда от нее. Конечно, неполовинку . Я исследовал зло большую часть моей жизни , и я считаю , что это позор интригующим в одном , что не является злом сами," he replied.
"Just a couple of thugs and a pickpocket. No trouble from her. Certainly not a soul-mate. I've been researching evil most of my life and I find it's taint intriguing in one that is not evil themselves."

Cameron Hawkwinter |

Nice thanks, character sheet updated. A 1/week augury via a card reading will be fun :)
GM what time of day is it?
