Returning to the kitchen table she looks slightly sheepish.

Not enough coffee yet, and kind of keen to be getting on, I don't do well with nothing to do...

The cutlery on the table starts to move, the knives and forks joining together and dancing a waltz around the table to some imaginary tune.

When everyone is ready, it's nearly the beginning of the afternoon.

You finally reach the Gold Goblin, and see a few things strange, even if Hans and Beyar are outside as usual.

First, from the outside, Natalya and Alayna notice how quiet the gambling hall is.

Then Zahel sees a few men inside, but they do their best not to be seen. Their best isn't very good.

am I out of sorts from lack of hedonism yesterday: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Oh yeah, I'm a be a b!*#$ with almost everyone except Sylee.
I am fatigued for 4 hours or until I get at least 10 gold in treasure/reward or get an hour of entertainment or pleasure.

Nessa was apparently dead to the world until about noon when she finally woke up. When she came downstairs she'd already dressed and had a snake draped around her shoulders and neck. Sylee, who had been playing a game with her new governess, practically had her eyes pop out as she realized mommy was doing something she said never to do with Zith. She gave her mom an accusing look and said, "Mmmmmooooommmmyyyyyy, why can't I play with Zith like that?"

Nessa, a sheepish look on her face said, "Why don't we go to the kitchen and talk, I need to eat something real quick." Sylee, obviously somewhat upset at the unfairness of adults, followed along in a huff with Samaritha right behind her. Once in the kitchen Nessa grabbed a plate, some cold meats and cheese, and some bread, to make a few sandwiches with and gave one to Sylee, one to Samaritha, and one for herself before plopping down in the chair in a huff. She took a couple of bites while Zith's tongue flicked out to taste the air again and finally said, "Things changed honey, Zith and I changed, I can...feel how she feels now, and I think she's smarter now too. Not smarter than us but smarter than a snake. I think it's some magical thing. Because she's not really a snake anymore, at least I don't think she is, she can be trusted more, she won't hurt me, I don't think she'll hurt you, as long as we don't try to hurt her anyway."

Sylee looked at her, no longer mad but in wonder still mixed with some distrust, and asked, "Can I hold Zith?"

Nessa hesitated, she wanted to snap back, she was in something of a mood anyway and her daughters earlier behavior and request had annoyed her, but Nessa was surprised, and pleased, to find that she wasn't lashing out. Someone else could suffer for her mood, someone like Saul when they found him. She considered and said, "If Zith wants to go to you until I leave I think it's alright, but she's coming with me when I have to go to work in a bit alright?"

Having finished her sandwich Sylee came over quickly to put her arms around her mommy in an enthusiastic hug and squealed in delight as she felt Zith shift over to her shoulders and flick her tongue against Sylee's nose. The little girl laughed in delight but was careful with Zith none the less, she'd learned the rules for handling the snake with supervision, and she stayed in the room near her mommy while she pet Zith's head gently.

Nessa was still eating when she said, "I need to find out what happened to Zith, how she changed. I didn't know that could happen? Can all snakes do that?" It was patently obvious she had absolutely no clue what a familiar was.

When they reach the Gold Goblin
Nessa was still to surprised about the changes in Zith and to wore out from lack of tickling her pleasure centers the day before to realize there was anybody inside the Goblin who shouldn't be there, nor how quiet the place was.

He casts Bless - could be wasted - could be a very useful +1. Bit of a gamble - well Cameron is a true believer in the goddess of luck after all!

The fact there were so many extra people in the Goblin was concerning but Nessa knew they had to get this over with.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

She noticed the two regular guards were out front and was glad to see one was Hanz. She remembered him being much more confident than that, especially that one night in the back room, and saw he was upset about something. It was easy to tell, written all over his face, and she knew that she could make him talk. Taking the initiative she stormed over to him, her bad mood showing, and got right up to him before she demanded in a low and angry voice, "What is going on here Hanz? There are strange people inside and we already know Saul can't be trusted any more." Her fury was palpable as she said flatly, "He had Larrur killed and fed to that big pig that was in the basement. Unless you want to become another of his puppets like we were I suggest you talk because I am too tired to put up with this shit today."

Cameron was too nervous to hear the strain in Hanz's voice, although it seemed Nessa had spotted what he'd missed. Trying to clear his thoughts, he focused on what she was saying. 'Blimey we're into heavy stuff, some of the staff are gonna get hurt unless I do something.' he thought.

Cameron added sadly, "You know I've always been straight with you Hanz. Dude today is a good day for you to go home and catch up on some sleep. I'll make sure Saul doesn't hold that against you."

For a few seconds, Hans look at his brother, who nods.

As discreetly as possible, he tells Nessa

Saul cames back this morning, did a meeting where said you were in the Crimelord's pocket before sending the staff away, giving a day off to everyone but us two. Then he came back with a gang of thugs, some lowlifes from the street, to "teach ya a lesson". Finally he went off, telling us he had an appointment tonight at the docks, some business he can't afford to miss.

His brother add
Yeah, I had trouble believing you were turncoats... unlike some people of the staff. But hey, Saul can be very persuasive, and he's the boss, he's the one with the money. These six inside looks like jokes, but there are two of them who have the eyes of a stone cold killer. The one with a trident, and the red headed woman.

Hans says
we were supposed to let you in, and join the fight. Could you... I don't know... just stun us, or do some magical trick?

Taking pity on the brothers Nessa nodded and gestured the others back. She looked at the two and said, "Don't resist the spell, and don't forget, you owe me now." She began to weave her hands and speak in a sibilant hissing voice and suddenly a spray of color slammed into the faces of the two guards taking them out of everything for a while

I'm assuming they choose to fail their will save since they wanted us to do something to protect them from Saul's wrath.

The Gold Goblin Battle

Entering the Gold Goblin, you see six men inside, ready for a fight. Well, in fact, five men and a redheaded woman.
Some look like regular Riddleport scum, but the woman, and the man sporting a trident, look particulary dangerous.

The man with the Trident speaks, with an heavy Chellish accent

Yeah, these are the ones Saul's told us about.Hope you're ready to a fight, and I hope you're ready to die, by Golrum!

The redhead whistles at Alayna, pirouetting with grace.

Cameron, does your Inspire affect Fortitude Saves? Because if it does, Nessa beat it.

Sadly I don't think it does, only charms and saves vs fear.

Ack no it doesn't and neither does bless. I thought it did but it's only vs fear. Sorry GM Cameron has +1 too many on his roll.

A crossbow bolt ends its course in a chair, much to Zahel disappointment.
Therric doesn't waste time and put down one of the thugs Red thug dead! while Alayna displays her prowess with the whip, tripping another thug down..Green thug on his back

Now its time for you remaining foes to counter attack. Enraged, the prone thug tries to break Alayna's legs, and from the other side of the room, the last thug dashes toward Zahel, and his weapon cuts deeply into the elf's belly

On Alyana, Prone: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 7

Not sure if it's because I'm on my phone but I can't see Cameron or Nessa on the map.

Seeing Zahel in trouble, Cameron whips his spear round and thrusts! So intent was the man on murdering Zahel, he didn't notice Cameron...
Pointy stick vs Zahel's attacker with bless & inspire: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 2 = 21Did it hurt?: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10

@Cameron: you were under the disk I used to calculate the radius of the thunderstone with.I removed it now, so you can see yourself. I moved you so you were able to strike

Cameron' spear pierces the man ribs, but the man is still standing!

Natalya staggers forward at the loud roar from the detonating magic, her hands barely managing to cover her ears in time.

Her lips curling up in a snarl, she gestures at a bottle on the nearby bar, it arcs through the air before accelerating to smash heavily in to the thug to her north (I colored him red on the map DM!)

The bottle hits, and hard, shattering on the man's face, but he doesn't even aknowledge the pain, looking at Natalya with fury.

The man with a trident moves and cast another spell, while the chanting man rushes to Natalya and strikes with his mace... But only the nearest table suffer his wrath!

Hit?: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 = 11

The redheaded piratess looks at Therric, and he feels... strange, as if Desna has abandoned him.

Therric:
Next time you roll a d20, roll twice and takes the worst result. Sowwy, no save on this ability.

Now to Zahel and Nessa!
