Dunkel squints upward at their assailant on the roof.
"Ah got th' one on th' roof! Faster than ah cavespider 'n ah squid!"
With that, he works a spell offering little further explanation to his metaphor.

D'lack avoids the worst of the poison. The concentrated attacks by Thorn and Wyatt knock out the crossbow-wielding man.
However, the others manage to fire in the intervening time. Two crossbow quarrels punch into D'lack's chest, and the man falls to the ground. I believe at -7

Beorin and Doubtful may take surprise round actions

![]() |

Sheesh, they really don't like D'Lack!
I'm assuming its ok for Doubtful to have used his Mage Armor wand as they were about to head out on the escort mission?
Said he'd sit on the wagon for this, so put him starting there.
Doubtful scowls, as all the missiles start flying. He glances up at the rooftops, and suddenly launches himself across the intervening distance!
OK... since Dunkel called the main lady, Doubtful is going after the other one! It will be suitably cinematic, so I'll give it a shot!
Going to do a partial charge on the blue crossbow guy on the roof, attempting to bull rush her off the edge! Since its a partial charge in a surprise round, I can only move 40', but 25' gets me to blue. I have to push her 10' to get her off the edge, so need to beat her CMD by 5 to do so.
He'll spend a ki point to add +20 to all his jump checks for the round, since 10' of height puts the DC at 40, minimum! All told, 10' up, 25' over
Acrobatics to jump: 1d20 + 21 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 21 + 20 = 56
Bull Rush, charge: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 2 = 32
If he can, he will follow along with as far as he can, even going off the edge of the building, as he has safe fall, so takes no damage.
If we both go over, he'll try to land next to green, so he's between blue and green.
Here's a second acrobatics check, if that helps determine the fall location. Falling Acrobatics jump: 1d20 + 21 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 21 + 20 = 60
edit: ooo... 20! Nice. Take that! Might be able to push her alot further... not sure what the CMD was.

Dunkel blinks and rubs his eyes as he slowly ascends the building as Doubtful literally squats and leaps up onto the building with a single jump.
"Wha? Magic?"
Shaking his head, he resumes his climb, sucking in wind as he crests the roof and takes a semi-circuitous route to the woman on the corner.
Double move. Left room for a charge for Doubtful.

How high is the barricade again? If he can clear it within one round he'll go over the wall. If not, he'll book it down the alley.

He rushes forward (30') while drawing a dagger and hurling it at the enemy before she can regain her wits ATK: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 9 - 4 = 6 but the blade lands harmlessly.

Sorry, still getting caught up. The recent site freakout killed my best time to updated. Barricade is only about waist-high, so getting over will be no problem for Thorn.
Thorn catapults over the wall, while Doubtful scurries up the side of a building. The bow-armed woman dodges Wyatt's first arrow, but the second catches her square in the chest.
The woman sent flying by Doubtful stands up, dusting herself off. She then reloads her crossbow.
Behind the barricade, the lone defender rounds on Thorn with a sap, but he is far too agile to be caught.

Beorin takes cover!! lol

![]() |

D'Lack's unconscious!
Beorin, I think that would qualify as in need of healing support, yes? =)
Doubtful, seeing that Dunkel and Wyatt seem to have the woman with the bow covered, goes after the two in the alley below him.
With a leap, he jumps across to the adjoining building, slides down the slate roof and leaps just before the edge to somersault through the air and descends the rest of the way to the alley beside the woman he so recently knocked down there, one hand slowing his fall as he goes.
He launches a kick at her head just before he lands.
"Don't think you wanna do that." He growls.
Moving down to the alley, using slow fall to take no damage. Then single punch to blue with stunning fist.

I don't have a strong healing enough to actually heal D'Lack up and if they shoot him again, it might just end his life. On the other hand I'll go get him...

![]() |

Thorn looks around to see if he should kill his target... though it seems like it's almost like he's checking to see if he'd get caught if he did... He turns to say aloud to the party in general, "Some squeeze the bird to make him sing so that we can kick the till and bend the clock."

![]() |

Doubtful kicks the woman's crossbow away as it falls to the ground, then grabs her tunic and pulls her roughly past himself as the stun wears off, so both her and the other man are on the same side.
"If she cared about your safety, she wouldn't have brought you here." He growls at the two near him.
"Beat tracks, though I doubt it'll help you sorry lot." He adds.
He will let these two run off, if they so desire.
He's not sure what Thorn is going on about, so ignores him.

![]() |

Whatever Thorn was saying, Beorin didn't get it but he did knew one thing and that was to go heal his companion.
Wand in hand, he begins applying its magical properties on D'Lack.

After the first tap of the wand, D'lack reopen his eyes and gives Beorin his own wand to be heal.
Thanks. I understand why they focuss on me. I'm in their eye but a traitor.
He turns to the woman that seems the chief of the thieves.
I'm not an Aspis agent women. I'm a Pathfinder and even if sometimes we smuggle some mwangi artifact we do it for preservation, not for profit.
Even small, this is in my eye a great difference between Pathfinder and Aspis. I'm sure we could work together to undermine the Aspis' work here to steal our heritage. Would you hear us ?

Dunkel scratches his beard as D'lack talks with the woman, but holds up his hands and speaks softly to his fellow dwarves as he hears some of the distinctions drawn between the Society and the Consortium.
"Well, we in tha' Exchange dun object t' ah wee bit o' profit, here n' there..."
Coughing into his hand, he speaks up enough so the woman can hear.
"N' why d'ye think these goods are ill-gotten, lass?"

![]() |

The woman seems startled by D'lack's revelation.
"And here I thought you were just Cartahegn goons. You really have no idea what you're transporting, do you? These are sacred Bonuwat artifacts, being carted off to sell to Taldans who want something 'exotic' to decorate their parlors. Cartahegn's no better than the Consortium. If you lot have any sense of decency, you'll let my men return these to their rightful owners. Or perhaps all the Aspis propaganda about...your organization is truer than I thought."

![]() |

May be we can find an arrangement ? Something not sacred to the Bonuwat but exotic enough for a Taldan's parlors? I'm sure your artisans could work something.
May be are we close to the Aspis, about artifact and such, but we try to find a diplomatic way, not the more profitable way and not at any cost.
We have an agreement with the Cartahegn House and I'm sure we can work something together.

![]() |

"Could we bring this somewhere else less conspicious?" Beorin implores.

![]() |

"Your all off in the head." Doubtful growls, giving the woman a glare. "Let her deal with her failure, not with us. She's probably just trying to steal 'em to sell herself like everyone else in this god forsaken city."
"Murdering people over trinkets? She's no different then the Aspis either."
"Leave her and lets get out of the street and this town. Whole place will descend on our heads soon enough."
Doubtful's practicing anti-diplomacy. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20 <--- see
edit: oops... well, that didn't turn out like I expected... =)

Assuming you allow her to, Ungala will lead you to a secluded alley where you can talk more freely.
"I admit, we do expect a finder's fee for the return of stolen objects, but we always return them to the tribes that produced them. Cartahegn handles logistics for you, right? If you cut your ties with them, my people can move goods and people for you. We've been able to evade the Aspis and everyone else for years now. I suppose we got a bit overconfident, but I promise that won't happen again."
You basically need to decide between working with Novaria and House Cartahegn or with Ungala on the question of providing more supplies through Bloodcove. Feel free to ask more questions, but ultimately, I'll let the party vote. If you tie, the one with more Exchange members voting in favor wins, as it's most directly related to them.

![]() |

Hmmm I'm not exactly sure who to vote for....

![]() |

Then I think It's pretty clear that we ain't voting for her then.

![]() |

I agree.
D'lack was torn between his desire to help the mwangi people get what they want and his relationship with the Cartahegn house who dated back in his first steps as a Pathfinder.
But Ungala's crusade was not of his taste and he decides to continues to help the Cartahegn.

![]() |

Some PFS scenarios have really compelling A or B choices, which leave the party really torn up over deliberations. One caused one of my characters to switch factions. This isn't one of those, it seems.
You're able to turn Ungala over to the House Cartahegn authorities. In exchange, she promises to expand their logistics for Society operations in the region. She also turns over Ungala's gear to you, in case it helps in your further operations:
potion of cure light wounds, potion of invisibility, 1 studded leather, mwk short sword,
+1 composite shortbow with 40 arrows, antitoxin (2)
Thorn expressed an interest in learning how the native Bloodcove-ites feel about the Aspis. How would you like to go about that?

![]() |

Doubtful will drink the potion the elves gave him earlier, to heal some of the damage from Ungala's arrow, 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8 and is as good as new.
The he seems sure he's probably going to turn into a werebat if he drinks too many of them.
Well, we know how the local Mwangi feel about them, if Ungala is any example =)
The locals at the inn probably don't mind them, as they're providing jobs.
What's Novaria's (and thus House Cartahegn's) viewpoint? She probably knows alot of this already.

Dunkel finds a reasonable location to set up his diggin' team, passing out assorted signs that detail special summertime incentives and discounts for those who may be interested in employing any dwarves.
