"While we appreciate the sincerity of your offer to send us home, we face the forces of Baphomet and Deskari daily, and have personally witnessed the destruction of Kenabres by The Storm King, Khorramzadeh. I myself have returned from Elysium to the join the living again to continue the battle against the Abyss. The forces of Ayrzul and Kelizandri are no more terrifying than the forces we already deal with daily," Li'an answers, trying to explain that they were unlikely to accept an offer to flee. "However, if the offer of the wish stands even if we do not choose to return home, perhaps we can come up with one which might help us all. It seems that if we remove Sara from the comet, it could cause Kelizandri and Ayrzul to lose interest, providing you an opportunity to reclaim and restore the city for your people."

Unafe's heart leaps at the thought of the wish, and she feels the Goryon's fervent desire to free Sara like it is her own.

She is about to blurt out Goryon's–her–Goryon's–their desire, when she recalls the mayhem that she's seen arcane magic cause in her time in Rahadoum...and recalls the protections that Goryon told her about, protecting Sara from being reached.

Inwardly, she asks, << Nac ofna, Doeth Goryon, addunedaf ar fy mywyd: ni adawaf heb gyflawni ein gorchwyl. Ond beth am yr amddiffyniadau rydych chi wedi'u gosod o'i chwmpas hi? Dywedasoch eich bod wedi gosod wardiau gwrth-teledu o'i chwmpas, ac na allai unrhyw elfen ddaearol lithro iddi. Beth allai fynd heibio i'r amddiffyniadau pwerus rydych chi wedi'u gosod? A yw hyd yn oed dymuniad a roddwyd gan un fel y Fonesig Zhaleh yn ddigon pwerus i'w goresgyn? Neu a oes gennych y gallu i ddadwneud y wardiau hynny yn awr, fel y gallai'r dymuniad ein cael ni iddi? >>

Hallit: << Fear not, Wise Goryon, I pledge on my life: I will not leave without accomplishing our task. But what of the protections you've placed around her? You said you placed anti-teleportation wards around her, and that no earth elemental could glide to her. What could get past the powerful protections you've placed? Is even a wish granted by one such as Lady Zhaleh powerful enough to overcome them? Or do you have the ability to undo those wards now, so that the wish could get us to her? >>

WotR Global Buffs/Debuffs: ----

Lady Zhaleh's shoulders slumped as she heard Li'an's words, her expression one of profound despondency. "I understand your reluctance to flee," she said, her gravelly voice heavy with emotion, "but I fear for the safety of my people. We have already lost so much, and I cannot bear to see them suffer further. The forces of Kelizandri are relentless, and I fear that we will not be able to withstand their assault. We just lost many after attempting to fight back against Kelizandri... after 1,000 years of servitude. But what else could we do, after being banished to the furthest corners of the Material Plane?"

She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts, taking a deep breath before continuing. "Once we part ways, I plan to try and return as many of my people safely to our home, Arzanib, as possible. But it will not be an easy journey, and I fear we may face many dangers along the way."

Lady Zhaleh's eyes bore into Li'an's, her tone urgent as she spoke. "Whatever you wish for, think over your request carefully. If she were, for instance, guarded by powerful magical contingencies, any attempt to instantly remove her could result in disaster. And even if we could remove her from the comet, it may not be enough to deter Kelizandri and Ayrzul now that their interest is piqued. They are powerful beings, and their wrath knows no bounds. I would hesitate before offering shelter to such a person in my city."

Unafe:

Goryon's words carry desperation and urgency, her voice quivering with emotion. "Unafe, ond mae amser yn llithro trwy ein bysedd. Mae Sara mewn perygl enbyd, ac y mae'r amddiffyniadau a roddais o'i hamgylch yn aruthrol, ond nid yn anorchfygol. Efallai mai dymuniad y Fonesig Zhaleh yw'r allwedd i'w goresgyn, ond ni rhaid i mi weithredu ar frys cyn i luoedd didostur Ayrzul ddarganfod ei lleoliad Ni allaf chwalu'r wardiau ar fy mhen fy hun, fel yr wyf yn awr, ond gallaf eich arwain trwy ddefod siamanaidd a all eu gwanhau dros dro. amseriad a nerf di-ildio. Ond dyna dwi angen i chi ei wneud i ni."

Hallit:"Unafe, time is slipping through our fingers. Sara is in grave danger, and the protections I placed around her are formidable, but not insurmountable. Padishah Zhaleh's wishcraft may hold the key to overcoming them, but we must act with haste before the relentless forces of Ayrzul discover her location. I cannot dispel the wards by myself, as I am now, but I can lead you through a shamanic ritual that can temporarily weaken them. It's a perilous undertaking, one that demands unerring timing and nerve. But that is what I need you to do for us."

Buffs | Char. Sheet |

Hinagiku’s brow furrows at the mention of wishcraft, she could not understand what the padishah meant, except that her words cast the idea ominously.

”Padishah Zhaleh Setat, maybe we do not need to part ways now. My companions are smart and resourceful, if they can think of a way to use your gift both wisely and quickly. If they do, we can stay together and be safer in it. And, this does not have to end here, the portal we mentioned leads to our town, a place where crusaders who fight against the spread of evil reside. I am sure they would welcome you, if only for a short time, but a short time can make a world of difference when people are about to set on a long and dangerous journey home.”

NOTE: Description and inner dialog are too bound up here, but please read all of this internal dialog as happening in Hallit.

Unafe feels her chest quiver with her Ancestor Heart's desperate urgency. << Of course, I will give this ritual everything I have, only... >> A wave of doubt washes over her. << ...You must know, I have far more skill as a warrior and clan-liege than as a shaman. I fear for my weakness, but if it is what is needed of me then–with you as my guide, in the presence of the Sacred Ancestors–I will trust that I will succeed. As I must. >> She shudders, thinking ...and I must, surely! Or else I truly am a failure that let Snjobyl and his horde destroy our sacred valley, and Goryon was wrong to even come to me....

Taking a sharp breath to steady herself, Unafe asks inwardly, << Before we begin, I must inform my comrades of the plan, and...If I am able to succeed at this ritual...and Lady Zhaleh's wishcraft is able to bring us to Sara...do you have the power to open another portal to bring us back home? I do not want to ask my allies to come along if I cannot tell them what their prospects are to ever get home. >>

- - -

After standing silent for a moment in internal conversation, Unafe looks at the mighty Marid.

"Padishah Zhaleh, you are very generous to offer us a wish, and I am grateful...and your advice to think it over before choosing shows both your wisdom and your patience. I know that time is pressing, but with your leave we will discuss amongst ourselves and give you our answer in a minute."

Turning to her companions, Unafe says, "I must go to rescue Sara. I do not expect this of you, but if you are willing I know I will be grateful for your aid. As I mentioned before, Goryon has placed Sara under powerful wards that protect her from teleportation and prevent the earth elementals from swimming through the earth directly to her. She can walk me through a shamanic ritual now, that will temporarily weaken them. At that point...presumably Zhaleh could wish us safely to her side?"

Unafe:

"Wrth gwrs, gallaf ailadrodd y gamp honno os oes gennych chi'r cryfder i roi benthyg o hyd," Goryon says, sounding annoyed that Unafe would even ask. "Byddwn angen amser i wneud hynny ac mae'n rhaid i mi allu gweld Golarion, ond mae o fewn fy ngallu. Fodd bynnag, gallwn hefyd ddychwelyd trwy'r porth blaenorol yr oeddwn wedi'i wneud. Mae amser yn hanfodol , Unafe. Ni allwn fforddio unrhyw oedi. Os gwelwch yn dda, brysiwch," she says, irritably, her impatience evident in her tone.

Hallit: "Of course, I can repeat that feat if you still have the strength to lend,"

"I would need time to do so and I must be able to see Golarion, but it is within my power. However, we can also return through the previous portal that I had made. Time is of the essence, Unafe. We cannot afford any delay. Please, hurry."

Ehren suspected that Lady Zhaleh must be powerful, but her offer of a wish exceeds his expectations. Given his past experience with products of wishcraft, however, he is hesitant to accept the marid’s offer so readily, not the least because of her insistence on returning them to Golarion. While securing a means of returning home is high on his list of priorities, he has no intention of forsaking their whole reason for being here.

The druid looks to Unafe, having largely followed her lead since the start of this venture. Or rather, the ancient soul that dwelled within her Ancestor Heart. Goryon’s unwillingness to be forthright about Sara was not lost on him, but for him it was more a cause for concern than suspicion.

“Unafe, you know by now that I have pledged my support to the Demetae. But please, think carefully about what you are asking,” Ehren says to with subdued urgency, “You saw for yourself what thoughtless wishes did to Marhevok and Dehliana. Lady Zhaleh is without a doubt a more virtuous benefactor, but we are still trifling with dangerous forces here. The consequences could be catastrophic.”

Ehren steps back, directing his words both to his companions and to Shahzada marid herself.

"Goryon spoke of this city's underground transportation system and of how it might lead us closer to Sara, without bringing us too close to Ayrzul's forces. Lady Zhaleh, if such a path exists, would it be within your wishcraft's power to convey it to us?"

"What does this ritual entail? Can it be done here? How long will it take?" Li'an asks, frustrated once again with Goryon's commands being relayed without any real rationale or explanation. Goryon continued to be dodgy about why things were being done or what they were being done for. The group was being asked to use a wish without knowing what even they were truly wishing for. Having lived her entire life in the shadow of the World Wound, and the aftermath of the Red Morning Massacre in Kenabres, it was very hard for Li'an to accept words from a spirit occupying Unafe's head who refused to share any information about what they were accomplishing. In many ways it was indistinguishable from the behavior of a demon manipulating someone to evil ends. In fact Isilme had told her of just such a story during their time visiting Dawnton.

She nods as Ehren asks Unafe to consider carefully, mentioning Dehliana and someone else. "Exactly Ehren," she says in agreement. "We fought all the way here on Goryon's word, but what we're about to do is dangerous. I've never heard of any stories where wishes turn out well, and Isilme herself is living proof of it. She spent most of a century bound to a sword as a result of two wishes colliding."

Pulling Unafe and the others aside, she expounds on her frustrations with Goryon. "Isilme told me a story of and inquisitor of Iomedae in Dawnton. They heard voices in their head, and believed they were acting on Iomedae's orders when in fact a quasit had been manipulating them in order to incriminate her and the others in the party. I believe both Hinagiku and Ehren were there. A voice in your head awakens and asks us to take its word on faith that it's your ancestor and is attempting to do something that's the best for you and your people, and that is worth us risking our lives to accomplish. But honestly we know nothing about what we're doing or why, or even if Goryon is who she says she is. If Goryon wants us to trust her, she needs to show trust in us, not just use us as a means to an end."

WotR Global Buffs/Debuffs: ----

Lady Zhaleh's piercing eyes linger on Hinagiku's face, her gaze softening as she sees the concern etched there. She takes a deep breath, her voice tinged with weariness and sorrow as she speaks.

"I appreciate your kind offer, young monk," she begins, her words slow and measured. "But I fear that even with your companions' resourcefulness, the task of safely sending my people home may be too great for mortal hands to accomplish. I have seen countless brave souls fall in defense of their homes and loved ones, and I cannot bear the thought of placing your lives in such danger."

Her eyes cloud with sadness, and she clasps her hands together in a gesture of anguish. "But my people are scattered and vulnerable, and I cannot abandon them now. My best options, ironic though it may seem, lie here on this comet, and I must continue to search for a way to save them."

She takes a deep breath, steeling herself against her staff for what comes next. "However, I understand that my fight is not your fight," she says with a small smile. "You have your own journey to complete, and I cannot ask you to risk your lives for my people. I wish you all the luck and strength you will need to succeed on your own quest, and, tides be willing, one day perhaps our paths may cross again."

Lady Zhaleh's smile grows warmer as she nods in agreement with Ehren's suggestion. "Ah, I see that you are a wise one, young druid. Your plan has merit, and I believe it could indeed keep you out of harm's way," she says. Her eyes scan each of his companions in turn, as if searching for any hint of doubt or hesitation.

"As for my wishcraft, I could help you find the simplest path, but you must understand that it is not without risk," she cautions. "There are dangers lurking in the bowels of this comet beyond those of Ayrzul's forces. But if you are willing to take the risk, then I will do what I can to help you."

She pauses, her gaze lingering on Ehren's face. "So, is this truly what you and your companions wish? If so, then I will do everything in my power to make it so."

Unafe feels impatience rising in her, and realizes she cannot tell with certainty whether it Goryon's, or her own with all of this confustion and uncertainty, or all of it mixed together.

"Goryon, fel rwyt ti'n dweud, mae'n rhaid i ni weithredu'n gyflym - ac i wneud hynny dwi angen mwy gennych chi! Mae fy ffrindiau'n codi cwestiynau da: Y ddefod hon i wanhau'r wardiau, faint o amser fydd hi'n ei gymryd? Unwaith y byddwn ni'n eu gwanhau, rydw i dychmygwch y byddai'n ddelfrydol dymuno i Sara fod gyda ni, yn enwedig gan y gallai fod yn llawer anoddach mynd yn ôl i'r porth o ddwfn y tu mewn i'r gomed os oes rhaid i ni fynd ati...Ond...wn i ddim o beth ydyw yn golygu 'gwanhau' y wardiau hyn, ac mae fy ffrindiau yn ansicr hefyd.A all eu gwanhau ddigon i Wishcraft ddod â Sara yn ddiogel atom? Neu dim ond i ni gael ein cludo i Sara?

"Ac mae gan yr Archdderwydd brofiad gyda pherygl dymuniadau ac mae'n flinedig o ddefnyddio un i'n cludo ni neu Sara. Gofynnodd i'r Arglwyddes Zhaleh a allwn ddymuno yn lle hynny i ni ddysgu'r llwybr symlaf i'w gyrraedd. Mae hi'n dweud, 'Gallwn eich helpu i ddod o hyd i'r llwybr symlaf, ond rhaid i chi ddeall nad yw heb risg. Mae peryglon yn llechu yn ymysgaroedd y gomed hon y tu hwnt i luoedd Ayrzul.' Gwnewch oes gennych chi unrhyw fewnwelediad i'n helpu ni i ddewis rhwng yr opsiynau hyn?Rydych chi'n gwybod y gomed hon, lle nad ydw i.Oes gennych chi unrhyw synnwyr faint o amser y byddai'n ei gymryd i ni deithio yno?Os oes gennym ni'r amser, efallai ei fod yn iawn, ond rwy'n poeni na wyddom pryd y bydd elfenau'r ddaear yn torri trwodd. O! Ac os awn i lwybr yr Archdderwydd, a oes angen gwanhau'r wardiau o hyd? A fyddent yn rhwystro dymuniad i ddysgu'r llwybr?"

Hallit: "Goryon, as you say, we must act fast–and to do so I need more from you! My friends are risking their lives for us, and they raise good questions: This ritual to weaken the wards, how long will it take? Once we weaken them, I imagine it might be safest to wish for Sara to be with us, especially since it could be much harder to get back to the portal from deep inside the comet if we have to go to her. But...I know nothing of what it means to 'weaken' these wards, and my friends are unsure as well. Could they be weakened enough for Wishcraft to bring Sara safely to us? Or only for us to be teleported to near Sara?

"And the Archdruid has experience with the danger of wishes and is weary of using one to transport either us or Sara. He asked Lady Zhaleh if we could wish instead for us to learn the simplest path to get to Sara. She says, 'I could help you find the simplest path, but you must understand that it is not without risk. There are dangers lurking in the bowels of this comet beyond those of Ayrzul's forces.' Do you have any insight to help us choose between these options? You know this comet, where I do not. Do you have any sense how long it would take us to travel there? If we have the time, perhaps he's right, but I worry that we know not when the earth elementals will break through. Oh! And if we go the Archdruid's route, do we still need to weaken the wards? Would they thwart a wish to learn the path?"

She also turns to Lady Zhaleh and asks, "Padishah Zhaleh, you mentioned fearing to attract the attention of Kelizandri and Ayrzul. Once we rescue Sara, we hope to leave this comet and return home as quickly as we are able. That said, if we decide it is our best way to safely rescue Sara–and we haven't decided yet–would you give us leave to wish for Sara to be brought here, knowing we'd leave quickly with her? If that's too big a risk for you and your people, I'd want to know."

WotR Global Buffs/Debuffs: ----

Unafe:

"Ah, mae'r un ifanc mor llawn o gwestiynau," Goryon responds, terse and impatient. "Wrth gwrs, dylai'r wardiau gael eu gwanhau yn gyntaf. Byddai fel ceisio torri trwy gaer heb hwrdd curo. Ond os ydych chi'n amseru'n iawn, a gall hi wneud y dymuniad yr un peth pan fyddwch chi'n perfformio'r ddefod, yna efallai y bydd gennym ni agoriad i fynd drwodd heb aberthu'r wardiau yn gyfan gwbl."

Hallit: "Ah, the young one is so full of questions," "Of course, the wards should be weakened first. It'd be like trying to break through a fortress without a battering ram otherwise. But if you time it just right, and she crafts the wish at the same time you perform the ritual, then we will have an opening to get through without sacrificing the wards entirely."

"O ran awgrym yr Archdderwydd, mae'n wastraff amser,"she says dismissively. "Pam cymryd y ffordd bell pan allwn yn syml ddymuno ei hachub ar unwaith? Ac o ran y risgiau, wel, mae risgiau ym mhopeth a wnawn. Ond mae'r wobr o achub Sara yn werth chweil. Eich cymdeithion croeso i chi deithio yn ôl i'r porth y daethom drwyddo os ydynt yn dymuno dychwelyd adref, yn lle hynny."

Hallit: "As for the Archdruid's suggestion, it's a waste of time," "Why take the long way when we can simply wish to save her instantly? And as for the risks, well, there are risks in everything we do. But the reward of saving Sara is worth it. Your companions are welcome to travel back to the portal we came through if they wish to return home, instead."

Turning her attention to the question of travel time, Goryon, admits, "Mae'n anodd dweud. Ar hyn o bryd, mae'n dibynnu ar ba mor gyflym y gall eich cymdeithion deithio trwy graig solet. Os nad oes gennych y gallu, yna byddai'n dibynnu pa mor hir y twnnel yr ydych yn teithio i lawr yw, a pha mor uniongyrchol yw'r llwybr. yn rhedeg allan."

Hallit: "It's hard to say. As of right now, it depends on how quickly your companions can travel through solid rock. If you do not have the capability, then it would depend how long the tunnel you are traveling down is, and how direct of a path it is. Have you learned of any such tunnels, recently? Therefore, teleportation is the answer. But if you have any better ideas, by all means, share them. We must act quickly, as time is running out."

"Bydd angen i ni wneud beth sydd gennym, nawr, brysiwch a gwneud y dymuniad cyn i rywun arall ei wastraffu! Yn ôl yn fy amser i, ni allai unrhyw faint o graig na charreg fod wedi fy nghadw i ffwrdd oddi wrthi. Fel yr ydw i nawr, dim ond am ychydig y gallwn i siapio'r ddaear. Mae angen dod yn nes, felly gwnewch y dymuniad!" she hisses.

Hallit: "We will need to make do with what we have, now, hurry and make the wish before someone else wastes it! Back in my time, no amount of rock nor stone could have kept me away from her. As I am now, I could only earth-shape for a short while. We need to get closer, so make the wish!"

Lady Zhaleh takes a deep breath, her eyes scanning the group with a hint of worry etched on her aged face. "Unafe, I share your concerns regarding the safety of my people. Ayrzul and Kelizandri are powerful adversaries, and we cannot risk attracting their attention more than I already have. If you insist on bringing Sara here, based on what I understand of this situation, I'm afraid I cannot allow it."

She pauses, choosing her words carefully. "However, I understand the urgency of your mission. If you wish to go to Sara instead, I would be willing to help you. But I must stress that there is no journey without risk."

She continues, "Personally, I believe it would be wiser to avoid detection altogether by wishing to travel to Sara. It would minimize the risk of our enemies finding us and endangering my people. But the decision is ultimately yours to make. Have you decided?"

The back and forth discussion, indecision, and uncertainty is getting to Myrna. They had come here to support Unafe, and Goryon was treating them all like disposable pawns. She had half a mind to do as Goryon suggested and walk back to the portal on the comet surface, or better yet use Zhaleh's wish like she had suggested to return them all to Drezen. Their lives were worth more than this old shaman's personal concerns, Myrna was sure of that much.

Unafe's desire to succeed causes her to hesitate, so she bites her lip and thinks for a moment before speaking aloud. "I say we just get this over with. Nobody's got any better ideas, and we don't know anything about our environment or the situation. If Goryon --" here she pauses, giving Unafe's forehead a baleful glare -- "Is really going to refuse to tell us anything useful, we should just be brave and jump into the fire. We can make it."

She looks over to Padishah Zhaleh. "Thank you for offering your wish," she tells the noble. "Good luck to you and your people."

Buffs | Char. Sheet |

”I understand. I hope things will turn out for the better for you and your people.” Hinagiku replies when the Padishah declines her offer to follow them to Drezen.

When Li’an takes them aside to discuss the issue with Goryon, Hinagiku can only but confirm the Dawton story. It had been years, but she still recalled it quite well.
”Luckily, this time, Goryon was vouched for by the Dolok Spirit and foreshadowed by a prophecy. I believe we can trust her as someone who will not put Unafe in too much danger. I am not saying that blind faith is the way, knowledge is necessary to make good decisions and avoiding being rash.” Hinagiku says, laying a calming hand on the fiery sorceress’ forearm. She then pauses, listening to Unafe’s account of her conversation with Goryon with a few nods.

When Myrna gets impatient and speaks her mind, Hinagiku gently replies: ”Yes, we have little time. I know little of magical protection, so it would seem wiser to me to follow Ehren-kun’s suggestion. But Mrs. Myrna, Li’an, you know much about magic, what do you think we should do?”

Unafe nods in understanding as the noble Marid confirms Unafe's suspicions. "Padishah Zhaleh, thank you for patience, and your care for both your peoples' safety and our own. We will of course respect your desire for us not to ask you to bring Sara here.

"We know what we will wish now, but there is a ritual I must do first, before we ask you to use your great power to send us to Sara."

After receiving Myrna's inspiration, Unafe focuses on her Ancestor Heart and all she recalls of Old Aye's teachings, and says, "IAWN. Cyndeidiau cysegredig, ysbrydion sawraidd, os gwelwch yn dda, dewch o hyd i mi yn deilwng o'ch cefnogaeth heddiw."

Hallit: "OK. Sacred ancestors, saurian spirits, please, find me worthy of your support today."

Li'an still wasn't satisfied with the fact Goryon continued to refuse to share any information about what they were doing or where they were going. Instead it seemed that Unafe would do the ritual regardless of the group's opinions, and if the group failed to wish, would likely be forced to wish by Unafe. Seeing no other choice she steps up next to Unafe. "I will make the wish when you are ready, just signal me by tapping the ground three times."

She then turns to their new acquaintances. "Pagbean, biz riskli bir şey etmək üzrəyik. Mən sizdən və Lohaddan bizimlə gəlməyinizi xahiş etməyəcəyəm, lakin siz də bizi müşayiət etmək istəyirsinizsə, sizə mane olmayacağam" she explains to the gnome.

Sylvan:
"Pagbean, we're about to do something risky. I will not ask you and Lohad to come along with us, but I won't stop you if you wish to accompany us either,"

Li'an waits for Unafe to begin the ritual and gets close to him. "Everyone who wants to come with us should lay a hand on Unafe," she says, repeating herself in sylvan shortly thereafter so Pagbean would be able to explain to Lohad should they choose to join. Once everyone is in position, she looks to Zhaleh and waits to feel Unafe's tap on the ground. When she finally does, Li'an hesitates for only the briefest of moments before addressing Lady Zhaleh: "I wish for all of us in contact with Unafe to be transported to where Sara is located within this comet."

In the seemingly endless moment after the last word leaves her lips, Li'an wonders how her father had felt when he used his last wish to try to save Isilme from destruction. Had he felt the weight of each word as she had just now? Did he wonder what the outcome would be even as he spoke the words? Or was he so focused on saving her he didn't have a chance to think until it was done? There were a lot of questions she'd never gotten around to asking her father. Perhaps when she had free time she would visit Isilme and Aravashnial and ask her if she knew...

Just reiterating that I let Pagbean and Lohad decide whether to hang on to Unafe or not, and let them know when to make contact

Ehren objects no further, despite being perturbed by Goryon's insistence that they throw caution to the wind. The archdruid could not comprehend her motives, but he could certainly sense the unspoken desperation in her directives. They were reaching the culmination of her long-laid plan, the impetus behind her slumber. Whatever the reasons for her secrecy, Ehren feels they will receive their answers very soon.

As Unafe begins the ritual to weaken Goryon's wards, Ehren's aqueous body assumes a humanoid shape and becomes opaque, turning back into that of a damp human man. Without knowing what to expect of their destination, he can do little to prepare for what lies ahead. Nonetheless, he casts a minor divination to sharpen his senses, placing all his trust in instinct alone. He then turns to their gracious wishcrafter, uncertain whether they will have the chance to meet again once all is said and done.

"Thank you for your aid, Padishah Zhaleh," Ehren says to the noble marid with another bow, this one in gratitude. "I pray that you and your people will find good fortune and safe passage to Arzanib. In time, Kelizandri will learn to regret this folly - your cause will prevail."

Ehren casts heightened awareness.

Like Ehren, Hinagiku bows in thanks to lady Zhaleh before congregation with her companions around Unafe. Following Li’an’s instructions, she lays one hand on Unafe’s shoulder, to whom she whispers:
’’We are by your side, trust in yourself. Remember, you have succeeded in rituals before.‘’

As everyone gathers, Hinagiku looks to Lohad and Pagbean, reading their body language, she motions for them to lay a hand on Unafe when she notices signs of them wishing to come save Sara.

Myrna, too, is ready to continue. While Unafe performs her ritual, she casts a heroism on the other Kellid woman, improving her bravery and competence. In the direct lead-up to the teleportation they would all apparently be experiencing soon, she follows suit shrinking back down to human size. Pagbean's gaze rests upon Li'an, and states in a pleading tone, "Li'an, sən kömək etməlisən. Lohad hələ də bir insandır və səyahətimizə davam etmək istəyiriksə, onun ayağa qalxmasına ehtiyacımız var. Sehrini aradan qaldıra bilərsənmi?" The gnome's eyes dart towards his friend Lohad, who lay on the snow-covered ground, as she is unable to stand up.

Sylvan:

"Li'an, you have to help. Lohad's still a merfolk and we need her back on her feet if we're to continue on our journey. Can you dispel the magic?"

As Unafe begins the ritual, Pagbean's gaze is fixed on her, his eyes sparkling with excitement. He knew that danger was imminent, but he was not one to shy away from a challenge. Without a second thought, he steps forward, his small hand reaching out to touch Unafe's feathers, which crackled with a surge of energy at the contact.

"Məni say, Li'an,"he declares with a strong conviction in his voice. "Lohad və mən yolun hər addımında sizinləyik. Biz birlikdə bir çox təhlükələrə sinə gərmişik və bu macəra heç də fərqli olmayacaq. Biz bir komandayıq və birlikdə istənilən maneəni dəf edə bilərik." As he spoke, he turned to Lohad, his eyes locking onto hers, offering a reassuring nod.

Sylvan:

"Count me in, Li'an,"

"Lohad and I are with you every step of the way. We have braved many perils together, and this adventure will be no different. We are a team, and together we can overcome any obstacle."

Unafe closes her eyes, taking a deep breath to steady herself. She feels the cold snow beneath her feet, grounding her as she begins her shamanic ritual. Her Ancestor Heart pulses with anticipation as she calls upon the spirits of the sacred saurians, their scales shining like jewels in her mind's eye.

Unafe's voice is low and soft at first, but it grows stronger with each repetition of the chant. She sways to the rhythm of the words, her body moving in time with the spirits' energy.

The sound of her voice reverberates off the walls of the cavern, and Unafe feels the presence of the saurians growing stronger around her. She can sense their power and wisdom guiding her, lending their strength to her ritual.

As Unafe continues to chant, her body begins to tremble with the intensity of the energy flowing through her. She feels as though she is channeling the very essence of the spirit world, and it fills her with a sense of awe and wonder.

Suddenly, Goryon's voice rings out in her mind, and Unafe knows that it is time. She stomps the ground with her foot, signaling to Li'an that the wards are weakening.

Li'an wastes no time in using Zhaleh's wishcraft, and the air around them shimmers with energy as the heroes are teleported to Sara's location. Unafe feels a rush of exhilaration as the wards crumble and fall away, leaving a clear path for them to follow. Despite the physical toll of the ritual, Unafe is filled with a sense of accomplishment and pride radiating from her second heart.

The heroes gather around Unafe, their outstretched arms making physical contact with her as she channels the power of the saurian spirits. The group is suddenly transported in a flash to an underground sanctum. The chamber they find themselves in is breathtakingly immense, with a ceiling of eroded stone studded with sand-scoured crystals that emit a cool, faint light. The walls are made of gleaming metal, evoking the feeling of being inside a colossal, otherworldly vessel.

At the center of the chamber floats an enormous, intricate, thousand-sided polyhedron made of sky metals, tightly bound by a series of circles and glowing a faint pink color. The heroes can hear the pained moans of a woman emanating from within the polyhedron, and Unafe's second heart aches.

Four magical circles, each of a different color, surround the polyhedron on four sides, emanating from a large crystal perched on a pedestal. Each crystal emits a beam of energy that is channeled into each of the five circles, creating a complex network of magical energy.

Unafe:

Hallit: "That's Sara," "See those five circles? We need to destroy the crystals to free her. Quickly, punch the blue one first."

The chamber begins to rumble and shake. The unmistakable sound of something tunneling nearby fills the air.

Unafe:

Goryon's voice becomes urgent. "Maen nhw'n agos, mae angen i ni frysio!" Unafe can feel her second heart racing.

Hallit: "They're close, we need to hurry!"

While in this chamber:

Li'an nods at Pagbean, touching the scale in her pouch long enough to dispel the polymorph Lohad was affected by.

The sensation of being teleported by the wish is somehow different than what she experiences with dimension door, less like stepping between locations and more like the world was forcibly moved beneath her. Turning her attention to the warding crystals surrounding the massive metallic vessel floating within the chamber, she quickly realizes they're elemental wards. "Those crystals are wards," she calls out to the others over the sounds of rumbling coming from nearby. "they are designed to weaken elementals, and they each have an additional mechanism for protecting each other. The shimmering is from the red fire crystal and will make it difficult to tell where the crystals truly are, the blue water crystal repairs the crystals continuously, while the green air crystal will attempt to suffocate anyone who strikes a crystal physically, and the yellow earth crystal makes it more difficult to land damaging blows on the crystals."

"I'm assuming we need to destroy these wards, Unafe," she says, looking to her friend. "If so, I'll focus on destroying the water crystal, it is vulnerable to my magic. Also, if what's coming are earth elementals, I recommend going after earth last. It will at least give us an advantage until we have the wards all down."

With everyone seemingly hesitating, and the sound of burrowing growing louder, Li'an decides to get everyone's attention. Drawing upon the last of her divine power, she gathers together a mass of fiery energy as she simultaneously weaves the signs for a fireball. In an instant the fireball streaks across the room, engulfing the blue and green crystals in waves of orange. As the flash of the fireball begins to subside, an gout of flame follows from her left hand, impacting the water crystal with a crack and sizzle before arcing to each of the other crystals in turn.

Myrna barely has time to take in the majesty and beauty of the immense underground chamber they find themselves in, and be impressed by the construction of Goryon's prison when Li'an shouts hurried orders and begins to unleash a fiery assault on the prison.

Nervous about the prospect of suffocating to death, and not capable of the sorts of artillery magic that Li'an was showing off, Myrna casts her gaze about for the types of boulders a giant might find a convenient weapon. They were in a cave at the bottom of a comet, surely there were big rocks...

She grows to her full height, bleached hair whipping dramatically and the red glow in her eyes growing ominously. Quickly she holsters her axe in its belt loop, takes a few heavy steps, and reaches out for a boulder to hurl.

Myrna spends her standard action becoming large, and then her move action searching for and picking up a rock to throw. Not sure about any ranges, but I hope we begin at least 20' away, to not be getting fireballed?

Ehren marvels at the enormity of the skymetal construction and even more so when Li'an describes the scope of its defenses. It was already obvious that Goryon had gone to great lengths to hide Sara from her enemies, but this complexity further begged the question of why. The unmistakable rumbling of moving earth is punctuated by the sorceress's pyrotechnic display, reminding Ehren they are working under a tight deadline. It appeared that using Zhaleh's wish to teleport directly to this chamber had been the right move, but if Goryon had any plans to escape once Sara was freed, he was all ears.

When the blue crystal remains intact even after being subjected to Li'an's fiery might, Ehren follows up with a fire spell of his own. Squeezing another modicum of power from the comet, he inhales deeply and exhales a serpentine plume of flame. Winding through the air, the serpent engulfs the blue crystal before blazing a trail toward the next one.

"大丈夫かキク?" he murmurs to Hinagiku after launching his spell, noticing something off about his lover.

Minkaian:
"Are you okay, Kiku?"

Ehren moves closer to the blue crystal, uses place magic, and then casts fire snake at CL 12th. Starting with blue, he will hit as many crystals as possible with its 12 squares of length.

Hinagiku had been ready for a challenging ritual, comforting hand on her companion’s shoulder, encouraging words on her lips, and mind ready to weather whatever the ritual might bring. Time passes quickly as the rhythm of the chant carries the mind in its wake; Unafe’s signal comes sooner than expected, followed without a pause by Li’an’s succinct wish. The minute’s long process passes like a blur, but the instantaneous reshaping or reality seems to last forever. A nauseating sensation comes as Hinagiku senses the whole ley around her reshape itself, but this is nothing in comparison to the excruciating pain that follows. Of the infinite ley threads that had weaved themselves in her soul when she had transcended space and time, four are suddenly pulled taut to the point of breaking. The tug of war that ensues seems to last forever. But, all of a sudden, Hinagiku recovers her senses. For a moment, she stands dizzy as her companions speak and giver orders, all she can feel is the heavy air in her lungs, the insubstantial stone ground under her feet, the burning of her sweat, and the coldness of her body. She falls to one knee, head hung down.

Hinagiku is brought back to reality when Ehren calls to her. She looks into his eyes and stands back up, staggering.

「私は…気分が悪い…素晴らしい。しかし、そうではありません… 最悪です。心配しないで。だいじょうぶです。何かお手伝いできることはありますか?」

Minkaian:
”I am… not feeling … great. But, it’s not… getting … worst. Don’t worry for me. I will be fine. Anything I can do to help?”

Reaching in her carrier bag, Hinagiku retrieves the potion of haste that Pagbean had given her, just in case it turned out they need to fight the one they were coming to save.

The archdruid channels the power of the ley into his breath. With a deep inhale, his chest expands, and he exhales a blazing torrent of flames that takes on the shape of a serpentine creature. The fiery serpent coils around the damaged blue crystal, its flames glowing a fierce orange as it begins to constrict. The resulting explosion is deafening. The crystal shatters into countless tiny pieces, its energy dissipating into the air.

The serpent moves with the fluidity of a living creature, its movements graceful and deadly. As it winds its way through the air, it twists around two more crystals in turn - green, then red, before vanishing from sight entirely.

At the same time, Myrna wanders around the large, stone cavern that they are in - giving the mages plenty of berth - and finds that the room is full of boulders of various sizes and shapes that she could throw.

As the ritual completes, Unafe feels Goryon's exhilaration, and her own pride. I...I really did it!

Seeing the bizarre chamber, with glowing crystals and a skymetal polyhedron–and Sara, moaning inside??–Unafe's saurian eyes go wide.

She lets herself return to her massive size and is about to pummel the blue crystal, when Li'an warns about suffocation. Immediately, she recalls watching Owen–a boy from her village–choke to death, unable to breathe, after a bee sting. She's run to get Old Aye but by the time he arrived it was too late.

When Li'an says she thinks it will be safe to bash the crystals with weapons, as long as she stays back, Unafe draws the knife she mostly uses to cut her meals and thrusts it at the green one. Momentarily it wavers like a flame, but her strike is true...even if it's a far cry from what she might be able to do if it was safe to batter it with her fists.

Unafe deals 15 damage to the Green crystal after hardness.

The metallic ring of Unafe's huge knife clashing against the cracked, green crystal echoes throughout the massive chamber, emitting a deep tone that is low and ominous. The strike sends shockwaves through her arm. But she grits her teeth and focuses on the task at hand, knowing that freeing Sara is their top priority.

Unafe:

As small shards of the green crystal scatter to the ground, Unafe can feel Goryon's frustration that she can't use her full strength. Her mind races with the possibilities of what she could accomplish if only she could unleash the full power of her fists.

"Fy mai i yw e i gyd," Goryon confesses. "Roeddwn i fod i amddiffyn Sara, ond methais. Mae drygioni Ayrzul wedi ei gadael yn y cyflwr hwn, ond yr wyf wedi gadael llonydd iddi yn llawer rhy hir. Rhaid inni ei hachub, a hynny'n gyflym." Unafe feels a wave of Goryon's anguish wash over her.

Hallit: "It's all my fault." "I was supposed to protect Sara, but I failed. Ayrzul's evil has left her in this state, but I have left her alone for far too long. We must save her, and quickly."

Round 2!

A deafening explosion rips through the air, shaking the very foundations of the chamber. Eardrums ringing, Pagbean can feel the force of the explosion in his bones. The walls of the chamber tremble and dust rains down from the ceiling. The sound reverberates through the cavern, drowning out everything else for a moment. Once it subsides, the little, damp, gnome unfurls his bag, while Lohad kneels beside of him. She sticks her prosthetic arm shoulder deep into the burlap sack and rummages around.

Li'an drifts up off the ground, after the explosion, trying to free herself from being knocked around by the vigorous attempts to break into the chamber. With the first crystal having been destroyed by Ehren's fire snake, she begins to feel they have the situation in hand, right up until Unafe's dagger barely manages to scratch the gem. It was clear that if they were going to finish the green gem, she was going to have to continue to focus on that. Hopefully there would be time to summon reinforcements once green was down.

Gathering energy for another fireball, this time she tosses it underneath the vessel, striking all three of the remaining gems simultaneously.

Fireball: 10d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 3, 1, 4, 6, 6, 2, 3) + 10 = 39

Once she's done that, she rummages quickly through her scroll cases and digs out the scroll of wall of force she'd prepared back in Drezen for just such a situation. With it she could hopefully seal the breach in the wall that the enemy was trying to enter through, buying them more time to fight.

Posting now, but Unafe waits to act until after Myrna

Unafe grits her teeth as the dagger mostly bounces off of the glowing crystal. She prays inwardly to the ancestors to keep her strikes true.

At Goryon's admission, Unafe's head spins.

<< A yw'n anghywir fy mod yn falch mewn ffordd ryfedd nad fi yw'r unig un sydd wedi methu â gwneud rhywbeth pwysig? Beth bynnag, gallwch chi ddibynnu ar fy ffrindiau a I. Gyda'n gilydd, gallwn guro hyn.Bydd Sara yn iawn. >>

Hallit: << Is it wrong that in a weird way I'm glad I'm not the only one who's failed at something important? Anyway, you can count on my friends and I. Together, we can beat this. Sara will be OK! >>

As Myrna begins to sing, Unafe feels Myrna's song once again fill her, and the Ancestors again get calmer and more focused, strengthening her blows. With that strength flowing through her, she gives another stab with her dagger...but she can tell that without more focus, and without the rhythms of combat with real foes that she depends on, she's had little if any effect.

<< ...Ond wedyn unwaith i ni gael Sara allan...mae'n debyg y dylwn i fod wedi gofyn o'r blaen. Unrhyw syniad sut y gallwn ddianc o fyddin Ayrzul? >>

Hallit: << ...But then once we do get Sara out...I should've probably asked before. Any idea how we can get away from Ayrzul's army? >>

Unsure that she'll be able to do anything at all to the crystals protecting Sara, and looking precariously at the nearby shuddering wall from which elementals were bound to spew any moment soon, Myrna hefts a large boulder she finds lying on the ground of the chamber. She begins a song, drawn from Kellid days before the Wound. This song speaks of the injustice inherent to imprisonment, the restless feeling one gets when one cannot escape, and the yearning for freedom of the Kellid spirit.

Rock Throw (heroism, serendipity): 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 18
Damage (rage song, fierce shout): 2d8 + 6 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 + 2 + 6 = 17

We spend a move action on rage song and then a standard action to throw a rock.

Hinagiku struggles to avoid falling prone as the cave is shaken by an explosion just as she struggles to repress a yelp of pain as the deafening sounds adds to the unbearable sensations tugging at her very being. Thankfully, the destruction of the blue crystal affords her just enough relief that she is able to control herself. Haltingly, she calls to the others:
”I can feel the ley slowly returning to normal with every hit. Yes, from your dagger too Unafe.”

Spending one move and one standard action to give Unafe back her two MF.

Loathe to see Hinagiku in such a vulnerable state, Ehren redoubles his efforts to destroy the crystals as quickly as possible. But, having used his most powerful spells to get this far, he has no choice but to fall back on his weaker ones. With the power of the ley, however, a little could go a long way.

The druid cups his hands and taps into the comet's power, using it to alter the source of his spell's energy. Rather than water, he draws on the element of earth, evoking a glistening sphere of green acid. Then, thrusting his palms, he launches the orb at the green crystal, relying on his echolocation to pinpoint its true location.

Ehren spends 1 MP on mythic place magic to cast acidball on the green crystal.

Unafe and Myrna deal 0 damage, Ehren deals 46 damage to the green crystal and destroys it.

The archdruid's fingers dance with energy as he manipulates the very elements themselves, twisting and shaping them to his will. With a surge of willpower, he draws upon the element of earth, summoning forth a glistening sphere of green acid that seems to pulse as though alive.

Ehren thrusts his palms forward, the ball of acid hurtling towards the already damaged green crystal. The druid's senses sharpen as he relies on his echolocation to pinpoint the crystal's exact location. With a resounding crash, the ball of acid collides with the crystal, shattering it into a million glittering fragments which melt with a satisfying hissing sound.

Round 3!

Unafe:

Goryon's response is laced with urgency as she speaks, her impatience palpable. "Peidiwch â phoeni am gynlluniau dianc eto,"she snaps, "Ein blaenoriaeth gyntaf yw cael Sara allan o'r fan hon. Gallwn ddarganfod y gweddill yn ddiweddarach. Os oes rhaid, byddwn yn twnelu ein ffordd i'r wyneb, ond am y tro, rhaid canolbwyntio ar ryddhau Sara o afael Ayrzul."

Hallit:"Don't worry about escape plans just yet," "Our first priority is getting Sara out of here. We can figure out the rest later. If we have to, we'll tunnel our way to the surface, but for now, we must focus on freeing Sara from Ayrzul's grasp."

Meanwhile, Lohad pulls out her ammo belt, the leather creaking softly in protest, as if reluctant to leave its place of rest. But Lohad handles it with ease, securing the belt around her waist and tightening it just so. The weight of the ammunition against her skin serves as a reminder of the battles she has fought and won. She then reaches back into Pagbean's burlap sack. The sack seems to ripple and shift as her arm disappears into its depths, almost as if it has a life of its own. The space inside feels endless, an enigma that defies explanation.

Li'an looks pleased as the crystal that was preventing Unafe, Hinagiku and Myrna from directly engaging them is shattered by Ehren's modified snowball spell. She looks towards where she'd last heard the explosion come from, clutching her scroll of wall of force in her hand.

It didn't make sense for her to keep trying to destroy the crystals, one of them was fire-based and her spells just weren't effective enough against it to justify attacking directly. It also seemed like a waste to merely wait for the intruders to finally burrow through the wall in order to use the scroll, as it seemed they had at least a bit longer before that would happen. Eventually she decides on a course of action: summoning in aid.

Reaching up above her, she begins to focus on calling upon the aid of a Bralani to prepare for the coming battle. They were excellent archers and had a variety of magic at their disposal, so seemed like a good starting point for a defensive force.

Ehren's face lights up with a smile as he breaks a second crystal with his magic. However, his joy is short-lived as he realizes he doesn't have enough spells left to break the remaining two crystals. Nevertheless, with the danger of suffocation gone, Unafe can now use her adamantine fists without any hindrance.

After briefly checking on Hinagiku, the druid kneels and closes his eyes. He presses an open hand into the ground and reaches out with his other senses, feeling for the seemingly omnipresent vibrations resonating through the earth, no doubt caused by the excavation efforts of Ayrzul's forces. Filtering out the noise, he attempts to ascertain their exact direction and proximity, if only to find out how much time they have left.

Ehren uses the Listen mythic skill exploit: he adds his tier to his Perception checks, and if he uses a surge, he can roll twice and take the higher result.

Unafe deals 51 damage and Myrna deals 19 damage to the red crystal.

Unafe grits her teeth as she strikes the red crystal with all her might, feeling the shockwave ripple through her body. Sparks fly from the impact.

Myrna's voice rises in a fierce melody, a passionate anthem to freedom and justice that stirs her companions' souls. With a charging battle cry, Myrna leaps towards the fire crystal, her axe at the ready. The impact of her attack leaves a spider-web of cracks on the crystal, and Unafe can feel the heat emanating from the shattered surface in waves.

Meanwhile, Lohad wastes no time in reaching for one of her guns from Pagbean's sack. Her crimson fingers move with practiced ease, loading the weapon with the precision of a seasoned warrior. She knows that time is of the essence in this dangerous situation, and she must be ready to defend herself and her companions at a moment's notice. She looks up with a frown as she hears Sara begin to moan loudly once again - she cries out with a shrill yelp of pain.

Suddenly, the skymetal wall begins to shimmer and dissolve. The air is filled with a low hum that grows louder and louder until it feels as if the very fabric of reality is vibrating. The wall gives way to reveal a monstrous creature, a twisted and grotesque hybrid of horned rattlesnake and demon. Its blood-red scales catch the light and seem to pulse with a malevolent energy, while its arms flex, each wielding a wicked scimitar that glows with an otherworldly aura. The monster is enormous, easily thirty feet long from head to tail.

Behind the monstrous creature, a towering zombie giantess stands awkwardly, her movements stiff and unnatural. She is thin, awkward, lanky and young - as if she were raised into unholy un-life when she was barely a young woman. Her lifeless eyes lock onto the heroes, and she grips a massive greataxe in her rotting fingers with an unnatural strength.

As the thick, heavy fog pours in, it envelops the zombie giantess, obscuring her form in a shroud of impenetrable mist. All the heroes can hear clearly are her snarls.

Li'an only:

Li'an can see invisibility, so she can see what the others cannot: next to the hulking, rattlesnake-like monster, she can see two blue-skinned giantesses. One of the giantesses has dark hair tied up into a bun, and is wearing bright red armor. She is shorter than the other, and could very well be as wide around as she is tall. The other appears to be an elderly giant, with a pair of spectacles to help her see. She is not wearing any armor, and despite her advanced age, she is incredibly bulky and muscular.

Initially, Li'an thinks they must be related to Myrna. They are about as tall as she is, blue-skinned, and they also have wicked horns like she does. But looking closer, they also look similar to Hinagiku (in her human form) -their clothes are definitely from Tian Xia, at least.

Li'an only, DC 20 K.Geography:

The clothes the giants are wearing are definitely Minkaian, which is where Hinagiku was raised.

The next 2 checks are cumulative.

Li'an only, DC 24 K.Geography:

They appear to be frost giants. Frost giants are a generally evil race of massive humanoids with white or blue-tinged skin, and stand close to 15 feet in height. As they are immune to cold, they generally live in areas of extreme cold.

It is said that Sarkoris was once ruled by a civilization of Frost Giants, until the Kellids came from the south and drove them away after a series of brutal, bloody wars.

Frost giants are vulnerable to fire. Like most giants, they usually speak the giant-tongue.

Li'an only, DC 34 K.Geography:

Frost giants can live to be 250 years old, and they survive on hunting and raiding alone, as they live in desolate, frigid environments. They are known for their wanton destruction, battle lust, and fearless demeanor that push them to ever-increasing displays of brutality.

Frost giants usually start combat at a distance, throwing rocks until they run out of ammunition or the opponent closes in, then wading in with their enormous greataxes. They can also lay an ambush by hiding buried in the snow at the top of an icy or snowy slope, where opponents will have difficulty reaching them, and then start an avalanche before leaping into battle. Frost giants can hide well in snowy environments and are masters of stealth in their domain.

Frost giants love to take captives and use them for food, as well as slaves and commodities. They are also fond of monstrous pets—white dragons and winter wolves are popular choices, but remorhazes, yetis, and even linnorms can be found dwelling in a frost giant lair. Frost giant groups are split almost evenly between those that live in makeshift settlements or abandoned castles and those that roam the frozen north as nomads in search of spoils and provisions. Frost giant leaders call themselves jarls and demand absolute obedience from their followers.

Civilized folk know frost giants as horrific brutes bent on murder and ruinous plunder, barbarians whose thunderous war cries deafen the ears as they chill the bone. In their pursuit to claim the land and establish themselves as the strongest inhabitants of the icy northlands, frost giants would first extinguish the plague of humanity that has swept over the world. In frost giant culture, humans and their ilk are viewed as little better than vermin and are hardly worthy of the crops they grow and the cities they build. In the chillingly ruthless minds of frost giants, if all the nations of the world must be ravaged to claim the lands that are rightfully theirs, so be it.

Frost giants are among the most feared giants, and their brutality knows no bounds. They are masters of ambushes, stealth, and survival in their frigid environment. Their favorite tactics involve using their environment to their advantage, such as starting an avalanche before leaping into battle. Frost giants are not only strong and brutal, but they are also intelligent, cunning, and demand absolute obedience from their followers. Their insatiable hunger for conquest and domination makes them a force to be reckoned with in the frozen northlands. Only the most skilled and well-prepared adventurers should dare to face them.

This is sufficient to know the FROST GIANT statblock.

DC 31 Perception AND Infernal:

"Listen... Do you hear that sound? That's it. That's the Moaning Diamond," says the first speaker. She sounds like an old woman.

"Who are these people?" asks the second speaker, a woman.

"They are probably guards sent to protect the Crystalline Queen. But it doesn't matter. We will deal with them soon enough," replies the first speaker.

"The elf at the back is casting a spell. I can't tell what it is. She's too far away," says the second speaker.

Skillchecks for Monster ID:

DC 21 K.Planes:

This monster is a kind of asura known as an aghasura. They are also known as "the poison ones". An aghasura appears as an enormous rattlesnake with two muscular arms, which they use to dual wield weapons, usually scimitar. It is a dangerous creature known for its ability to ambush and serve as a guardian and butcher. They poison their blades using the venom that they naturally secrete with their fangs.

Asuras are an evil outsider that are found on Hell. They are not commonly seen in the Inner Sea. When you think "asura", you automatically think of "Vudra".

DC 26 K.Planes:

Asura origins can be traced back to a divine accident or misdeed. They live to sow mischief and strife among the mortals of the Material Plane and the gods of the Outer Sphere alike. They are creatures of the Great Beyond, found primarily in the domains of their masters on the plane of Hell. All asuras oppose the gods, and their leaders tend to be powerful asuras known as asura ranas rather than gods. They abhor the gods, their followers, and seek to oppose their goals, whether they are good or evil. Because the first asura were born due to mistakes made by members of the Vudrani pantheon, the oldest and most powerful asura are associated with Vudra in particular, and most asura are primarily pre-occupied with toppling the Vudrani pantheon first and foremost.

While all asura exist due to a divine accident, this is only true for the first asura of their race. Once born, asura sculpt the souls of damned petitioners in Hell to create more asura.

Aghasura possess an attraction aura, which compels non-evil creatures within a 50-foot radius to move towards them. They are immune to curses, diseases, and poisons and have the ability to regenerate unless struck with good weapons or spells, making them difficult to kill. Aghasuras are also resistant to acid and electricity and possess spell-like abilities, including greater teleport and cloudkill.

DC 31 K.Planes:

Asura believe that the creation of the multiverse by the gods was the First Divine Mistake, and so they ultimately all hope to end all of existence to correct this mistake. Asura rarely come into conflict with other fiends, preferring to keep to themselves and their own machinations in hell, though individual asura may take on jobs as extraplanar mercenaries, as long as those who hire them are willing to accept the occasional act of violence towards a follower of the gods while they work to execute on their contract. Such asura enjoy mercenary work for the sake of it. Asura cannot be swayed by earthly delights and they actively disdain anyone who attempts to bribe them with money.

Aghasura revel in inflicting and observing some form of gradual decay, and can enter long, dreaming torpors during which they remain fully aware, making them excellent guards. They are most often found in the service of the asura ranas Chugarra or Chupurvagasti. Aghasuras are fierce dual wielders, capable of wielding two weapons without penalty, and their weapons are considered magical for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. Aghasura can attempt to summon other asura once per day, in a manner similar to demons.

This is sufficient to know the aghasura statblock.

Ehren may take a surprise round action only - he was listening and was able to react to the enemies breaking through before they broke through. He did need to surge.

Ehren and Hinagiku are up!

Myrna's song changes as the monsters burst through the wall. Though she wasn't paying much attention to the timeline of attackers, she has a sixth senth, and she is able to pivot and swing her axe into the snake monster's scales as it slides towards them and attacks Li'an. It calls upon unholy power to slice her with its scimitar, and Myrna takes a moment to look at and recognize it.

She begins the next verse, this one about an evil demon prince who sought to sway the Kellid people. He had been in prison alongside them, and tried to position himself as their leader following their escape from unjust captivity. Born in Heaven, he had been cast out for his imperfections -- but he told the Kellids only that he had been born in Heaven. All along, the untrustworthy demon prince intended to use his fellow ex-prisoners as an army to invade Heaven, but a hero with a holy sword is destined to rise to defeat him.

Steeling herself for the coming fight, Myrna grips her axe more tightly and unleashes a full assault on the asura that lay before her. She hoped her story would tell her companions something about the creature that they faced -- namely, that a sacred weapon would be required to kill it.

Ehren dismisses heightened awareness to bump up his initiative by 4.

Ehren furrowed his brow, struggling to filter out Myrna's song, Sara's moaning, and the clangorous sound of Unafe's fists colliding with the impossibly hard crystal. He focused even deeper, pushing out the din and clamor, focusing only on the ever-so-subtle resonance traveling through metal and earth. His eyes snapped open when he finally found what he was looking for.

"Myrna, behind you!" he shouts as the skymetal wall melts away, far too late to prepare his friends for the enemy's arrival. Ehren struggles to suppress a grimace when he catches a glimpse of their uninvited guests; it should be no surprise that Ayrzul's forces are as diverse as Kelizandri's. With no more destructive magic at his disposal, he would have to get up close and personal with the gigantic interloper.

The druid tosses aside his staff and channels the power of elemental earth through his body, just as he did when they first arrived on the comet. Then, in a blur of transmuting flesh, Ehren's body nearly triples in height and takes on the form of jagged, white marble. Veins of silver ore run throughout his body, meeting atop his head as a crown of silver antlers. Glowing emeralds burn within his eye sockets, locked onto the asura with grim purpose.

Ehren wild shapes into a large earth elemental (+8 Str, +4 Con). For everyone's sanity, HERE is an adjusted statblock reflecting his current form and ongoing buffs.

Li'an is caught offguard by the charging snake-like outsider, and is only able to absorb the brutal blow dealt to her through a combination of Myrna's ward absorbing part of the blow and releasing her own protection spell to heal some of the damage. All in all she'd come through relatively unscathed, but it easily could have been near fatal.

"Thanks Myrna, your magic may just have saved me," she says as she tries to assess the situation. There had been two invisible giants in the entry along with the zombie giant. It was unlikely they knew she could see them yet, so if she was lucky she might be able to keep them from entering the room. If they didn't themselves have see invisible up, they wouldn't be able to see the wall in front of them until they tried to pass through it.

As soon as the wall dissolves, Hinagiku downs the potion of haste that Pagbean had given her. Finally, the flow of the world slows down giving Hinagiku more time to deal with the dizzying effect of the crystals. Her mind slightly clearer, she sees the giant salamander slither incredibly quickly to Li’an’s side. She can feel the creature draw upon the most rigid threads of the ley to imbue his attack and watches as Myrna takes part of the hit meant for her companion. And so, just like the creature, she calls upon the ley to imbue her own strikes, but with the most harmonious threads of the ley. And, as fast as she can, the monk joins in the melee by rushing to the sorceress’ side.

”Trust me and let go. ” she says in passing. And with that, Hinagiku puts a hand on Li’an shoulder, a foot behind her ankle, and gently moves her away from their foe.

Myrna's axe crashes down with a resounding thud on the charging aghasura, but the creature's wound quickly regenerates, leaving behind just a scratch. Undaunted, Myrna channels her adrenaline into her attacks, striking again and again at the seemingly invincible foe. With each blow, she chips away at the aghasura's defenses, determined to find a weakness.

Meanwhile, the dense fog reveals a second aghasura, its scales a sickly yellow that contrasts sharply with the surrounding mist.

Li'an only:

But that's not the end of the threat. Li'an's sharp eyes detect the presence of another aghasura, invisible and deadly, crouched low to the ground with one scimitar at the ready. The predator lies in wait, poised to strike at any moment.

Lohad springs to her feet and unleashes a deafening shot from her gun at the red monster's scimitar, the sharp sound reverberating through the chamber and echoing off the walls. The red aghasura's attention is momentarily diverted, giving Li'an a chance to slip away to safety. "Li'an! Зараз! Геть!" Lohad shouts in her deep baritone.

Gunche:

"Li'an! Now! Get away!"

Myrna deals 8 damage to the red aghasura (we can resolve the FRA once we are at Myrna's initiative). Hinagiku repositions Li'an. Lohad uses 1 grit and leaves the red aghasura flat footed until its next turn.

Ehren, Li'an, and Unafe are up!

No longer listening for distant echoes in the earth, Ehren instead opens himself to the sound of Myrna's raging song. Immersed in its primal rhythm, the druid inhales deeply, feeling as his earth body swells with newfound strength and vitality. Stone grinds against stone as he tightens his fists, forming a pair of massive stone hammers. He regards the aghasura with a dark stare and exhales, releasing a small cloud of steam and dust. Amid the haze of bloodlust, Ehren hopes he is not about to make a damn fool of himself again.

Lohad's gunshot signals the beginning of his assault. As the gunslinger shouts to Li'an, Ehren closes the distance with the asura with a few plodding steps, already pulling back his right fist. As he comes within reach of the serpent, he throws what at a glance appears to be an unremarkable punch. Merged with his body, however, are the shards of the destroyed Kenabres wardstone; from the inert stone, the druid had managed to eke out a fragment of the enchanted menhir's former power. And now, Ehren, too, is anathema to the wicked denizens of the outer planes.

Ehren accepts raging song, gaining 20 temporary hit points. He then moves and attacks the aghasura; his slams are functionally +4 weapons for the purpose of overcoming DR.

The aghasura braces for the incoming blow, but the force of Ehren's stone hammer-fists lands with a sickening thud. Even so, it is not enough to even phase the beast.

Ehren:

As Ehren draws closer, he can sense the presence of another aghasura, invisible, laying flat on the ground next to the yellow one in the rear.

Pagbean takes a step back and raises his arms, fingers splayed as he weaves a spell of magic in the hopes of subduing the two aghasura. But despite their best efforts, the creatures' magical defenses prove too strong, and the spell dissipates harmlessly into the air. Frustration and disappointment wash over Pagbean's face, who knows that time is of the essence, and that he cannot afford to waste a single moment in this battle. The cleric's mind races, searching for a new tactic to turn the tide of this fight.

Li'an breathes a sigh of relief as Hinagiku slides in and moves her out of the way and then Lohad manages to distract the Asura even further. She turns to thank the gunslinger and notices Pagbean's frustration. She steps in his direction and motions to him as she pulls the scroll she'd readied open.

She quickly incants the scroll's trigger, the writing shines brightly and then seemingly evaporates from the page. While it wasn't possible for anyone to see it, she'd now completely sealed the tunnel entry from the room using a barrier of force.

She then pulls open another of her scroll boxes and digs out another of the scrolls she'd prepared. She holds it out towards the gnome, and then calls to him in sylvan through message, "Pagbean, sən gizli sehrlərdən istifadə etməyi bacarırsan? Though unable to see it, Unafe trusts in the Ancestors to guide her, and she is not dissappointed. She shoves it with a sharp smack, hoping to leave it shaken.
