I believe so. The kobolds had no way of completing their attack before without help. We've greatly reduced their numbers an made a show of force of what happens when striking against the town. Leaving those that we did will ensure that the story is told all the more with it growing greater and greater.

With Jinx's words, Lady Origena sighs in relief. "Very well. You have performed well and I do not have a reason to doubt you now." She then hands the party a sack with a dozen gemstones. "A visiting merchant just arrived in town and is staying at the inn. He may be amiable to purchasing the stones off of you."
"That solves one problem, but I have a new job for you if you would be so inclined.", the Baroness gauging the party's reaction. "I need you to explore Hunclay's manor. His only remaining next of kin, a cousin in Yanmass, does not want to bother dealing with the estate. She has authorized us to auction off the items and the property and send the proceeds to her."
She pauses slightly, her brow furrowing. "Of course, Hunclay was something of a foul-tempered recluse, and word is that his manor is warded by magical traps and guarded by monsters. The dead kobold still rotting on his doorstep isn't doing anything to assuage his fears. But you seem to be a capable lot, so if you would catalog what you find and disable or identify any magical traps you come across, I shall pay you the sum of 5,000 gold crowns. You won't be allowed to take anything, but you can participate in the auction if there is something you wish to claim for your own."
What does the party say? :)

![]() |

"Excellent.", the Lady-Baroness smiles. [b]"I'll have my adviser draw up the contact. In it, the contract states that the party must leave the mansion and its contents intact as much as possible during the cataloging. Otherwise, there is no major time limit and the auction will begin after the party has finished.
There isn't a major time limit if you want downtime to do something. Otherwise, we'll head to the manor when the party is ready :)

Wakiyan waits till everyone is outside
"I didn't use any potions in the Kobold's lair. I don't need to stock up on anything. I am saving my money for some magical items later.
I would like to have someone look over these items to see if they are magic. Then try to sell the items we have got so we are not carrying them around. Perhaps someone has a contact to tell items to? We could go and sell to that visiting merchant."

![]() |

Unfortunately I didn't have a lot of luck making friends in town other than one guy and I doubt he would be very helpful. I think we need to sell all that we can now for some basic spending money.

![]() |

To save some time, let me know what is going to be sold. I'll then take a Diplomacy or Appraise check to perhaps haggle a better deal.

![]() |

With his favorable contacts with the blacksmith, Wakiyan sells much of the equipment the party finds. Likewise, he is able to get a somewhat better price for the gemstones the party has accumulated from the trader in the inn who is heading to Cassomir.
Breakdown: 330gp from the small masterwork quarterstaff, 105gp for the topaz, 1260gp for the amethysts from the mayor, 105gp for the gold necklace from the evil kobold priest, and 840gp for the teak box and the gems inside. Total earned: 2,640 gp!
In the Campaign tab, I also added a loot section which has all of the remaining equipment and coins the party has found/earned. The party has roughly 5,500gp at their disposal, plus several yet to be identified magical items!

No worries; although unless it expired (which is weird, since even if it did, that should really just prevent new updates I thought, not blocking of the application). Contact their customer service and see if they can help you!

![]() |

Up to you guys. One campaign I'm in has it split 5 ways out of 4 players fie a general party fund for things like clw wands and spell casting services. Of course, with the unidentified magic items, some people may want to keep them which does affect loot wealth, too!

Wakiyan wanders around town feeling he should save his coins for later. He attempts to start small talk about the mansion, alon other side jobs he or the group might be able to do.
Diplomacy : 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4
I didn't include the +2 since I was asking everyone in town not just green faith.

![]() |

Wakiyan travels throughout the town, trying to get an idea of what's been going on the past couple days as they have been adventuring. Despite the rush of goodwill received from rescuing Bophia, the majority of the town is still indifferent to the newcomers.
@Wakiyan. You can try to ask a specific NPC; your roll can improve their attitude and thus your standing with that NPC and his/her faction. Otherwise, you can talk to any Green Faith person and assuming a T10, get some information, but it won't change your standing in town.

![]() |

Frustrated with the cold shoulders and blank stares, he heads to the blacksmith then after which to the herbalist.
"Afternoon, I have taken up another job for the Baroness to go into the Mansion cataloging and investigating that location. I was hoping you would have some insight into that place that might help me and my party.
As always we are looking for other jobs, if you know of any please let me know!"

Nori Nao |

Nori spends time with the local witch (should their be one), learning a great many things. She is a quick learner, studying the rituals and spells and most importantly, alchemical formula. During a particularly strong hallucination caused by one of the droughts, she envisions a scorpion creeping up her back. She welcomes its pin pricks of pain, adding its venom to her toxic blood. The creature slips up the nape of her neck and into her long hair. Her hair twists around its tail and becomes an extension of its stinger, lashing out at the shadow enemies around her. When her vision ended, a scorpion rested in her palms and her hair twitched to life as a new limb.
Using her new found knowledge, she studies the magical items they picked up.

@Nori: Boom!
Nori's newfound skills are put to good use; she identifies the first cloak as a cloak of resistance +1.
The second cloak, though, is something far more interesting. It is a cloak of fangs, which works as a cloak of resistance +1, but also allows the wearer to rapidly grow its teeth as a swift action and allow a bite attack for that round.
The necklace is a phylactery of faithfulness which makes its wearer aware of any action or item that would affect his alignment and standing with his/her deity.
More for Wakiyan later

Nori Nao |

Nori tosses the cloak of fangs to the cat, "I think you might need some bite with your meow." she chuckles as she eyes the cloak of resistance, "Hmm...I might be able to make use of this." She sets aside the phylactery as it was no use to her. Gods, beyond her whoever her new patron was, were a bore.

![]() |

@Nori: You know the value of the items to be about 1,000 gold, 2,800 gold, and 1,000 gold respectively. So the cloak of fangs is easily the most valuable, but you can net some extra gold from the phylactery.

No idea why yesterday's post didn't appear... so trying again.
Wakiyan shares tales with the blacksmith, spills this interesting tidbit. "There’ve always been wolves in the woods, but lately, there’s a pack led by a beast of a wolf that’s got a taste for livestock! Ol’ Prake Abrassus saw it run off with a sheep in its mouth like a dog carries a bone! Guess that’s why he put a bounty on it, hmm?"

After getting directions to Prake Abrassus heads there to speak with him.
"Good day, I was talking with others in town and your name came up. I have heard you have put a bounty on a wolf. I was wondering if you could give me as much information about this wolf. What is the exact bounty for dead or alive. I have friends always looking for jobs."

![]() |

While the party rests and trains, Wakiyan heads to the Abrassus Ranch. A dozen humans tend to a herd of sheep just outside of a fenced pen. Prake Abrassus, a middle-aged man of graying hair listfully oversees things as the undine approaches and greets him. "Oh, who... oh yes, I heard of you, the fella that returned miss Bophia back to her family. The others of the Faith speak quite highly of you, and at least respect the others of your strange party."
Prake stares at his sheep again, almost as if sighing internally. "Some damned wolves have been raiding my livestock here. The one that's leading them is smart, waiting until they graze and are thus farthest from town. We have to let them roam, though, as it's too expensive to store enough feed outside of the winter months, not too mention it produces lower quality mutton. If you and your friends are looking for work, killed that wolf. Bring me its head as a trophy and a suitable reward will be yours; 800 gold crowns, or all of my profits for the year. Figure it's worth spending this year's money so I can continue operating in future years. I'll also throw in some homecooked meals, too, since you and your lot are respectful to the Faith and all."
Will post for the house around lunchtime!

![]() |

So... lunchtime today still counts!
The party gathers their supplies, including some journals and inkpens to properly scribe notes, and makes their way to the manor.
The rotting carcass of a kobold still rests at the gloomy manor's front door. The char marks are still noticeable on the scaled corpse.
Map updated!

Wakiyan, looks at the others...
"I have no trap finding skills, or magical skills. I am out of my element here. I have my soothing ice ready if the worse should happen."

Jinx doesn't find anything unusual on the door... other than it is locked.
Hint: Someone have an old key found long ago? :)

![]() |

Jinx uses the key from Hunclay's body... and the door unlocked. Cautiously, the party opens the door to the manor.
The floor of this well-appointed entry hall is adorned with two expensive Qadiran rugs and decorated with several overstuffed leather sofas. Two dozen paintings with gilded frames hang on the walls, portraits and landscapes, all of exquisite artistry. To the north sits a large bird cage. Wooden doors open in the east and west walls, and an elaborate spiral staircase of iron both ascends and descends in the southeast corner.
The brown pacman shape is the spiral staircase that goes up and down.
A birdcage near the back has several birds that chirp anxiously as the party arrives. They look weak and malnourished, as if they haven't been fed in several days.

If not fed and given care, they will die of starvation by tomorrow.
These songbirds, if alive and given a weeks worth of care to bring them to full health, are worth 200gp total and should be noted as part of the estate.
One of the birds has a silver charm attached to its leg.
The charm is magical and radiates abjuration magic for locking and opening.
You feel a sneaky trap right at the entrance, as if it would give away, but strangely, you do not spy any mechanism; it must be magical!

The party all begins exploring the room and just manages to get off of the main rug when a pit seemingly appears out of nowhwere right where they are standing!
This is from a create pit and the sloped edges near the pit means those standing next to it may risk falling in!
The only thing of immediate interest is the bird cage; otherwise, there are 2 doors and the stairway for exits from the main hall.

Quickly reaching out to the goblin...
DARB STOP! As tasty as the birds might look, they are worth waaaaay more alive. Please trust me on this. Think of them like treasure.... just don't eat them or stuff them in a pocket
Completely disregarding the hole on the floor

Darb, we are suppose to catalog the items here. I would hate for our pay to be docked because we broke something!
Realizing that the bird is the least of the current problems...
Two traps, before we have even made through the first room. Perhaps slow and steady is the way to go!

Darb looks at the party, with a dissppointed look on his face.
OK! Darb not eat birdy treat. But Darb better get something good.
After putting the bird back in the cage, Darb heads to the staircase to explore further, trying to avoid the pit.

Darb looks up and down the staircase and finds that it's dark in both locations; good for him, but not good for some of his taller friends. ]
Darb, you can also give me a Perception check to see if you can smell food :)
Any other exploration? For the Perception checks, you can try again you know, although the rogues only one WAS for the trap that you guys happened to avoid by not standing still like silly people :)
Otherwise, give me a direction you're moving, too.
