@Wakiyan: For your PC, have a separate spoiler for your wild talent section as you'll start to rack those up quickly. Don't forget you also have the Basic Hydrokineses utility wild talent. Finally, do you have cold or water for your kinetic blast? Cold will deal only 1d6+ 1/2 Con mod (1d6+2 for you) but hits on touch (and is subject to spell resistance while Water will deal 1d6+1+Con mod (1d6+5), but hits normal AC. Also note the choices as it affects which other infusions you qualify for later.

I have the cold blast. I did realize yesterday that I had the +5 mistake and thought I corrected it to the +2. I will double check it here soon. Didn't realize I got that wild talent for free! The joys of playing a new class in a new book.

Can't have the cold iron dagger be masterwork; that would cost an additional 300gp! It can be cold iron, just not with the masterwork quality :)

Also, as a possible suggestion, get Weapon Finesse, then at either level 3 or 5, take Kinetic Blade as an infusion. At 5 when you get Infusion Specialization, you can kinetic blade for 0 burn and attack via weapon finesse to give you a reliable melee option (that'll deal a lot more damage, too, 3d6+2 cold damage at that point)!

Doh! I'm just racking up the mistakes! That'll be fixed in a jiff! I was really thinking about that for melee. Wanted to see what the party make up would be. I'll also admit been torn on the damage type. Ice vs Water does touch vs normal; cold damage vs bludgeoning; SR vs DR; 1/2con vs con; 1d6 vs 1d6+1 scale... Think I'll be happy with the ice blast though.

Everyone's posted! Let's get this started!

Silas Gribb. It was all his fault. He hired the four of your as guards for his caravan traveling through Taldor. It was supposed to be an easy job, until you reached Belhaim. The caravan's arrival sparked Silas' arrest and the sheriff and his deputies took Gribb away and immediately sent him down to Cassomir for trial.

While you were able to convince the authorities that you were innocent of smuggling, you were still stranded in the town and without pay at that. Talia Orem, the proprietor of the Wise Piper Inn, offers you free room and board for a few days until you figure out a plan. Whether she is taking pity on such a strange group of people or simply piquing and strange curiosity, is unknown. However, the meal of bread, cheese, and honey and some watery mead, is welcome as everyone rests for the evening.

Feel free to talk to each other and introduce yourselves further.

Jinx looks away from the mess that Darb is quickly making of his plate and keeps her head on a discreet swivel. Catfolk are known reasonably well throughout high populace towns but there will often be some who cannot seem to keep their eyes to themselves, which can make work hard to find. The arrest of their employer will undoubtedly result in being stranded here until either work or fortune decide to manifest. Until then she might as well attempt to enjoy herself with the antics of the goblin. Who would have thought that their head is surely 90% teeth?

Wakiyan, left his home to grow and discover more about a unique gift he possesses. He appears to be like most Undine. Blueish skin, and lacking any major weapons what most consider "appropriate covering".

She is not able to keep the joke going for long before laughing. "I'm sorry toothy. I was just imagining what series of events have brought this group together. Here have some of my plate as amends, just don't eat the actual plate."
Looking to Wakiyan, "I don't know what he was smuggling but it must have been pretty bad. Generally guards tend to "tax" goods vs. arresting so we're very lucky they didn't just roll us all up considering our appearances."

Darb's eyes begin to glow a deeper red, as he stands up on his chair to look Wakiyan in the eye. Open his mouth to speak, his tone immediately turns from funny to serious.

"Mean men try to make Darb slave. Darb not lIke those mans. Darb escape..."

Then, Darb sits back down, looks st the extra food from Jynx, and begins eating and meowing again.

Looking to their host with a small shrug. "I cannot speak for the rest but a job is a job. I like to travel as much as I can so it made sense at the time. I can now see the warning signs that there was something amiss though it does little good now. I'm sure that it will work in our favor somehow as fortune tends to like me. " She gives her best grin and wink.

Geez. This is going to be interesting to catch up on every day. Just so you're all aware, my posting times are usually 10pm-12pm PST just about every day. I can post while I'm at work but that's usually while you guys are asleep. You guys will mostly post while I'm asleep I'm sure, so I'll play catch up as needed.

The hint of a green shimmer circled her brow and cheeks, like gem stones embedded in her skin.

Don't worry Adam, I understood your posting time differences when planning this, but we'll go with it as best we can!

"I'm not sure about work.", Talia laments. "Things are slow here in Belhaim, but that's normal and has been for almost a couple of centuries; since the old quarry flooded anyway. I'm afraid we're just another sleepy backwater town between Cassomir and -". Talia is cut off as the walls of the inn rattle as if thunder was trying to shake the building apart!

Only open the spoiler if you roll the Perception check and make it! There'll be more like this throughout the adventure. If you make the roll, you can of course tell the others of your findings :)

DC 15 Perception check:

Your keen ears and adventuring experience tell you that the sound is more akin to a massive landslide than thunder.

The innkeep is shocked by the ordeal and a haggered man with a scraggly beard bursts through the inn doors. "The Witch Tower has fallen!" Talia gasps at this news and the entire tavern heads out to gawk at the mess.

Following in suit, everyone sees a large dust plume rising from where a large tower once stood. The townsfolk switch their horrified stares between the cloud of dust and two figures standing at the fore of the crowd, both armed with crossbows and longswords and bearing a crest on their epaulets They in turn are having a fevered, if nervous discussion. "What do we do Letha? I mean, it freakin' fell apart and now there's a couple of dead lizardmen!" "Kobolds.", corrects the other before continuing. "But yeah, I have no idea what we should do here." From the crowd, a single bark is heard, "How 'bout that magic user, Hunclay? Wonder if he know what happened?" The two deputies then look towards a man along side the same hill as the tower.

BAM! Adventure start! Any questions for the crowd or for the two deputies? And anything you wish to investigate?

A grumpy man frowns at the catwoman. "No one, you nosy freak!", answering her question in the harshest of tones.

Bah, had a typo; it's a mansion along side the same hill as the ruined tower, not a man...

As Wakiyan approaches the two deputies, they struggle with a real answer. "Beats me, the damn thing just fell down!", before pointing at the sign of a bottom half of a kobold body, the torso smashed under a brick larger than the small scaleblood was whole. "Two of 'em here so far. Not sure if there are any more. Hoping Hunclay may have seen something.", the two deputies walking towards the mansion in the distance.

Darb does an excellent job hiding, everyone too distracted by the chaos to pay attention to a little ol goblin.

Jinx and anyone else who is interested follow the deputies up towards the hill.

A large home with several steeples and multiple chimneys is the residence of the mysterious Hunclay. A third kobold body, charred to a crisp, lays upon the doorstep of the wizard's home. Deputy Varyl Hodd knocks the door, but there is no answer. Deputy Letha Mulle is about to open the door before he grabs her wrist. "Best not; the magic that did in that poor bastard may still be there. Damn strange Hunclay's not here; figure he'd be the first out to celebrate the tower's fall... hmm."

The deputy ponders this as he heads towards town, seemingly ignoring the party.
