Three arrows speed towards Svetlana, trying to break her focus. All miss. Then the woman casts a spell at Svetlana...

Karzug sits stoically in the back of the cart, not caring for the ride. Nigel tries to set his teeth in the arm of Svetlana, but her gauntlets protect the flesh. The cart makes good speed and Doctor Drokk readies his bow. Mayhem breaks out in the other cart as they all start to attack each other! The cart tips over, next to a gaping ravine and the five people fall to their death while still attempting to hurt one another. You stop next to the cart and find some coin pouches, a wayfinder and a scroll.
You make your way to the endpoint of the rail system. Towering buildings and forgotten architecture fill the skyline hidden deep within the rocky pillar. Cramped and decaying columns line avenues and market squares, representing only a fragment of their former glory. Dark shadows play amidst the flickers of light that rain from the chasm opening above.

You move through the streets of the ancient city, towards a huge building at the western end when Svetlana suddenly spots a giantic stone figure in a ruined building to the right. When the golem ambush is sprung, Drokk tries to identify the construct:

Drokk barks a coded command at his familiar, who has calmed down after far too much excitement during the cart ride. The golem is a stone golem, which is highly resistant to any weapons not made of adamantine. Doctor Drokk can't recall anything else in the heat of combat. The humanoids are morlocks, degenerate humanoids that are immune to disease and poisons.
Doctor Drokk does considerable damage to the golem and entangles it, but Svetlana seems to have an off-day and fails to finish it. The golem seems to do something, but that has no effect. Dr Drokk is the target of two slams, but only one manages to penetrate his considerable defenses.

The golem crumbles to the ground upon defeat and a green gas disperses into the area as the essence of the fiend that fueled the automaton escapes in a green oily cloud. The pathfinders have smelled worse. Svetlana kills one of the morlocks with her remaining three strikes, while Drokk only needs two strikes to kill the first one and is unable to kill another one with his bites.

I have 14 charges remaining on my Cure Light Wounds wand. I'm happy to burn through them, but would appreciate an infernal healing or two if available.
The vicious amulet of mighty fists was perfect when I had a Protector Familiar; I think I may need to consider replacing it though.
