Fiend series | Shackles

In my opinion it is the scene that sets this scenario apart, just as the mine cart ride was in the first scenario. Those morlocks that keep on piling on while you are trying to get rid of them is an iconic scene in my opinion

Karzug hurts himself as he tries to get to the brake, once there he helps Gratus apply them. The elevator car slows down, but it is obvious that it would speed up again if you let go of the brakes. The morlocks focus their attacks on Drokk and Svetlana, hitting the tiefling once! Some other morlocks try to make the jump, but they fall short of the elevator car and make a bloody smear on the ground!

Prayer: You and each of your allies gain a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of your foes takes a –1 penalty on such rolls.
Applying the brakes is a standard action, taking a STR check. One PC can aid, of course you need to be adjacent to the brake to apply or aid

Gratus and Karzug attempt to slow down the elevator, but they fail to do so. Drokk kills two morlocks and wounds a third while Svetlana kills three. Another eight morlocks jump over! One manages to hit Drokk, while two others hit Svetlana. The morlock that was wounded by Drokk then plummetts to the ground. The movement of all morlocks on the car cause it to start to swing....

Prayer: You and each of your allies gain a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of your foes takes a –1 penalty on such rolls.
Applying the brakes is a standard action, taking a STR check. One PC can aid, of course you need to be adjacent to the brake to apply or aid
2 DC20 reflex saves to avoid being jostled about (1d4 nonlethal damage per failed save) one is for speed, the other for swinging. Also a DC 15 fortitude save to avoid being sickened (from the swinging of the car)

Drokk currently has Countless Eyes and cannot be flanked. If the morlocks' swarming ability grants them flanking, as opposed to directly denying DEX to AC or directly granting sneak attack, then Drokk won't be subject to sneak attack damage. Drokk also has Resinous Skin granting him DR5/piercing, so if he was still hit by the morlock's club that might prevent the damage; also the morlock needs a DC17 Reflex save otherwise his club is stuck to Drokk and requires a DC17 STR check to un-stick.

At 23 lethal due to Vicious damage so far

Drokk, swarming gives flanking. Combined with your DR you only took 1 damage from that hit. I hope you don't mind that I won't track the sticking of clubs. The morlocks are likely to die after one hit, and having some of them switching to bite won't really alter the odds as they need very high numbers to hit you anyway.

Svetlana steps to the other side of the car and kills another three morlocks using the reach of her weapon. Drokk kills two other morlocks. Gratus and Karzug struggle with the brakes, but the car still speeds up...
The morlocks climb around the car to get to Svetlana and one tries to hit Gratus, but utterly fails to do so. Not one of the many morlocks still on the cave wall makes the jump.

Gratus concentrates on the brakes while Svetlana kills some more annoying morlocks, there is only one left for Drokk to kill.

Drokk kills the last of the morlocks, and the car slows down. You take a moment to take a breather, but that seems to be what the morlocks had been waiting for as eight others make the leap! A few of them are able to attack and one bites down on Svetlana's hand! Fangs pierce her gauntlet and actually hurt her. The streets of ancient Rakichan are getting closer, but the elevator car is speeding up with all that added weight from the morlocks...

Svetlana kills two more morlocks and Drokk manages to control the elevator car. It lightly touches down on the ground and our heroes quickly deal with the last few morlocks.

As you step out from the elevator, the earth of the ancient city begins to swirl in tiny eddies, yet you feel no wind. Soon, the soil coalesces, mimicking a human figure holding his arm outstretched. Within his dusty palm, an object solidifies: a wayfinder with the Glyph of the Open Road etched onto its face. The soil struggles to keep its form, and in hushed tones it begins to speak, “Help me! My name is Eldis Grone, and the wicked spirits that haunt Rachikan have my soul. Defeat these haunts and regain the three shattered pieces of my soul. Do this and I can lead you to Benton.” With the last words pouring from the image’s mouth, the earth spills to the ground in a heap. The wayfinder falls to Rachikan’s streets with an earthy thud. The wayfinder is tarnished and dented, but you think it can still be opened to see the compass inside.

Standing on firm ground helps Gratus to overcome the motion sickness he was suffering from...
