I have heard that this can be pretty brutal (but I haven't yet seen the material myself). Let me know if you want to change out characters or anything.
Since this is a special, it will be timed. As such, I will be looking for people to post at least daily, and will be ok with 2-3x per day. We won't go any faster than that, because I don't want to leave anyone behind. I also prefer not to bot people, so I will tend to wait for people to chime in, but since this is a special, I won't wait more than 24 hours so that we don't drag it down. I usually try to bot as I have seen the player play, but I am usually pretty reluctant to use up any long term resources (potions, wand charges, etc). If you are ok with certain things getting used, drop me a line for your bot preferences, or maybe put a short note next to items you are willing to have used in your absence. And please, if you will be out for a few days, just drop a line in this discussion thread so we know.
For those who haven't played in one of my games, I am pretty easy going. If I mess up a rule (which I do, from time to time), feel free to correct me or make a case why something should be different. I have a thick skin, so you don't need to worry about it!
Just let me know if you need to drop out, so we can open the spot up to someone else.
Also, we can go ahead and do any character purchases, etc. before we get started.

Note on posting: Although I live in Central Time Zone, USA I work 2nds during the week and thirds on the weekends 6 days a week. Alrighty Sorry it took me awhile to post (had to update the character) I would also like to make some purchases including 40 blunt arrows (4GP) and 20 more Cold Iron arrows (2GP) and also adding +1 to my bow for 2k for a total of 2006GP leaving me with 1479 gp
also Emberleaf uses Friendly Fire Maneuvers so Allies do not provide soft cover
also she has studied target and Sneak attack

holy weapon balm X2 60gp, acidflask X3 30, scroll of comprehend language 25gp, scroll of protection from evil 25gp, oil of bless weapon 50gp, scroll of unwelcome halo 25gp also given our need for disguises I wouldn't mind a scroll of disguise self 25 and a masterwork backpack 50gp = 290 leaving me 1189 gp remaining and a wand of Heightened Awareness for 2pp leaving me with 10
hopefully that will help with swarms, incorporeal, and darkness also I cant cast unwelcome halo so if someone wants it for the scenario feel free to ask for it.

armor with no acp and no spell fail
it does have only a +8 max dex bonus and the belly protector is better. these will not stack with mage armor but will help and possibly fill out a spell slot.
I don't think the necklace of natural armor would be best since as a wizard you will easily get magical spells that can increase your natural armor.

Ok, those of the eastern variety. How practical is it to take ceremonial robes into combat? Or do people typically accept this and change the flavor of the material?

Gm, I am on a skiing trip until March 6th. I will attempt to post once a day, conditions permitting. However please bot Yarricki if needed to move the game forward.
I assume you are well aware of her modus operandi by now. Charge if possible on Thunder's back (they both have 10 feet reach). Thunder gets a free trip on the charge if he hits.
Normally I will resolve Thunder's attack first for that reason.
Thunder has the hunters trick surprise shift that allows him to do a 5 shift as a swift action (does not provoke or count as movement). Yarricki will tell him to use that to set up a charge or a flank if possible. It can be used 2 times a day.
Yarricki will use her once a day animal focus bull (+2 STR) as a swift action when faced with a strong opponent or if things seem to be unfavorable for the party.

So, I spent quite a bit of time this morning reviewing rules on invisibility, stealth, concealment, and attacks of opportunities. I feel like I am missing something, but as far as I can tell, other than "guessing" what square you are in (which could be helped with perception, I think), attacking was unlikely to be a solid choice - and not one I could fairly resolve knowing what I know (namely, where you really are). And as far as I can tell, no AoO for walking past while invisible.
It seems like an awfully simply way to handle this encounter, but I fell like it shouldn't be...
However, in order to try to still make this a challenge, the Judge will not be giving up...

OK, so I re-reviewed this, and for some reason I thought all untrained skill checks cap at 10, but it seems this only applies to Knowledge. So, while very anti-climatic, it seems you do can indeed sound the gong.
However, I also realize I may have mislead you a bit when I said yes to your question about 5' step and perform check.
The "warm up" is a full-round action. And you can take the 5' step with a full round action unless it is specifically denied (which does not seem to be the case).
Now, this is where I am unclear. What I think this means is that your perform check does not happen until the full round passes (basically just before your next turn - like a summoning spell). But also listed as "full round actions" are a charge, or a full attack - and those take place during your turn.
When casting a full round, the caster has to make a concentration check (with a penalty due to the amount of damage taken) if hit during the cast. But that rule seems to be very specific to casting a spell with a 1 round casting time. I can't find any mention of taking damage while performing a full round skill check.
If I were house ruling this, I would say the intent is to perform the action for the entire round and that the same concentration check applies. But this is PFS, so I don't get to do that :)
So unless someone wants to argue differently, I think I have to rule that you have successfully sounded the gong. Sort of a simple solution to what other tables are finding to be a deadly encounter. But short of my having him move next to the gong with a readied action to attack when the hammer moved, I don't think this guy was equipped to stop this approach....

So, we have been moving a little slow through these last few sections, which means we keep missing out on any feeling of completion... we only just beat Judge Heng in time.
Now, I don't necessarily mind this - I think we have been moving at a most reasonable pace for PBP, and don't really want to make anyone fell left out or getting railroaded. But, if you all wanted to move faster for the next 3 days (which is all we really have left), I can commit to checking and posting much more often. The only thing is, we will always be waiting on someone...
This guy is going to be tough, I think, so I expect it to take more than a couple of rounds.
So, if you want to try to move faster - either multiple checkins or maybe listing a couple of this round then next round, then next, etc., I will try to accommodate.
Otherwise, I am good to go at the current pace as well - I don't think you are in danger of getting left behind now. But there are a certain number of these monks that need to be defeated by the whole house in order to win the scenario, so the more you get through, the better the chances of success.
