"A'ight, Justin, I admit I'm not the nicest one of this bunch, but can you do me a favor and shoot like that a few more times? Kthnx."

OOPS! looks like i forgot that first AOO!
After striking out at the robot when it fired on him, Hi-C delivers 2 more rapid thrusts causing the robot to shudder as its lights dim and it goes limp on the pike.
COMBAT OVER

Hi-C attempts to pull his pike out of the robot, and the resulting metal-on-metal grinding is like nails on a chalkboard.
He rubs the back of his head uncomfortably, "Uhhh, I hope this thing wasn't important. You think it belonged to the miners?"
Will happily take a 10 minute breather while the crew checks out these computers.
4/5 Resolve remaining.
Justin-Norveg
Justin pants and lowers the gun, counting to 20 before very carefully wrapping the barrel in its holster to cool it off, as there's no air to do the job here.
"Doesn't seem to matter how much time I spend in the simu...at the range when it's time to shoot something it's bloody inconsistent. "

@Justin, While it is clearly a security robot, everything from the design to the wiring to the materials used is foreign to pact worlds sciences. Even in its damaged state it might be worth something to a collector or scholar.

DR34-M12 gives the room a quick visual scan before her focus falls on the robot. "I've never seen a design like this!" DR34-M12 exclaimed as she examined the alien device, her circuits illuminating the room in her excitement.
DR34-M12 will spend the rest time fiddling with the robot.
"Egg"
"I think you have a defective gun too Justin" He says looking over the robot with DR.
"I know it is odd. We should see if we can tap into its programming to see if we can get to its code, As I suspect its similar to the computers, which would help us read and reprogram some of those lines so we can at least read and communicate"He says looking it over with a careful eye.

Hi-C perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
DR34-M12 takes several minutes just to fine an access port to plug into, and even then needs to jimmy rig it together. the data you recieve is extremely hard to translate, even he hardware itself seems completely illogical. everytime you think you find some circuitry that seems somewhat familiar it leads and splices in so many and complicated different ways. You are pretty sure it would take the societies top engineers at least a few days just to begin to understand this thing.
while the rest of you are checking out the robot, Hi-C notices a a small door almost flush with the wall to the west of the end of the hall.
the door appears to be blocked from the inside.
DR34-M12
"I've got some access to the code, Egg, but I can't translate it. I can't really translate any of it. The designs are alien in logic, even down to the circuitry." The Android began to laugh with delight. "We've really hit the jackpot!"
"Egg"
"Hmm Intriguing, let's get this piled up and mark it. We'll take it with us later, and hook it up to a really nice system and see what we can get from the thing. After that, we may want to see if we can get access to this place."Egg said looking over the robot wondering what one could do with it.
"Wonder if we can repair this bot and turn it into a servo-droid?"
Handsome Gob
Handsome will rest along with Hi-C, occasionally trying to take a sip of his schnapps if Hi-C allows it.
Haath Chaar

Hi-C squints down the narrow bottleneck.
"Here, kid. Finish it off. I ain't got anything salty to go with it anyways."
He then takes a long look at the group, his eyes passing over everyone individually. He watches DR34-M12 pouring over the robot with delight, Egg analyzing the alien writing, Handsome practically eating the bottle, and Justin replaying that same vidclip again.
Before long he lets out a great big STRETCH and gets up. "Oh, hey, look," he points to the wall. "Is that a door?"

while looking over the robot he points at Hi-C and speaks."Don't open that door yet, or do you want to get bit by zombie or Tentadogs again!"
GM Friendly Sauce
By the end of Hi-C and Handsome's 10 minute rest, DR34-M12 and Egg are sure they cannot glean any more information without a full lab diagnostic.
DR34-M12
"In 57.3% of vids that door would open one way or another. I vote we open it while we all have weapons pointed at it. Besides, without a full lab and plenty of time there isn't much else to be done with this robot."

".0000031%, and most of those examples were traps."
GM Friendly Sauce
It looks like the door will require some force and be broken down. It will be a strength check, Engineering check with an engineering kit, or plain ole attacking it.
DR34-M12
"I watch as many as I can. There is just something different about auditory/ocular vid scans. Obviously I've neurally scanned a lot more though, far more efficient for data gathering." DR34-M12 replied as she worked on opening the door.

Between Justin and DR34-M12's leverage and mathematical equations, and Hi-C's raw strength the group is able to get the door open. This small chamber was once a storage area for spare parts and small maintenance and repair robots, but it is now empty save for the dead body on the floor. The body is still wearing an estex suit I with a brown force field, though the battery is depleted. the body also has 2 spell amps of lesser restoration and a personal data pad (tier 1). An empty static arc pistol lies on the floor next to the corpses outstretched hand.
Numerous wounds are visible, but the cause of death appears obvious: a self-inflicted wound to the head.
The Data pad's battery is also dead, however if you supply another battery and succeed a
There is a recording on the device.
You recognize the Sunrise Maiden as the name of a starship that was reported lost in the Drift in 242 ag. The ship and its crew were never found—until now.

Egg claps at the others work."Nice job everyone, Seems we have a great find here. Let us see what we can find out." He says walking over to the computer and inspecting it.

I assume we slot in a battery and play the video for the group. Which is great, by the way.
DR34-M12's circuits began to glow with excitement as the video played. "A drift monster and a mystery ship? Ford is going to be able to cut together the best episode ever!" She said as she transferred a copy of the datapad's contents. "Oh, and we should probably get that force field charged up and on Hi-C."

Hi-C's lower pair of hands rest on his hips, his jaw practically hanging open as he watches the recording. When it finishes, he raises one finger in front of him and wags it vigorously back and forth.

"Hmmm It would be interesting to capture the creature and somehow transport it to be studied,. The Credits we would make would be astronomical if we could figure out how it is able to survive in the drift" he ponders before he looks to the others and raises his brows.
"Maybe for another time perhaps. For now, Forcefield to keep it at bay so we can get out of here with the crate and some of these shards and back to the Society!"

Can we determine what changes were made to the force field to help repel whatever the monster is? Also, would we be able to replicate it with the proper equipment?
GM Friendly Sauce
The forcefield doesnt have any special modifications. it funtions as normal. tbh i think the whole using it to "repel the monster" is mostly fluff.
"Egg"
"That is true if this ship is here we can definitely find a way outta here. But remember we have to get the crate off the other ship and grab this robot. DR do you have any data storage devices on your person to help download this file and others, the Society would love to have it as well as possibly finding this woman's' family to give them closure." Egg says grabbing whatever goods he can before he stretches.

moving along to the next room I assume,
The various lights and controls on the machinery in this room provide dim light. This chamber seems torn between two worlds—its southeastern half is an unfinished rock wall, while the northeastern portion of the room is finished with the same ceramic-metallic plating found throughout and a complex control panel is built into the north wall.
To access the panel, it will require a computer check, and 3 full rounds of effort.

All 4 of Egg's hands busy away at the console; Even for his experienced hands, the alien tech and its code are extremely difficult to interpret and without a few key corrections from Handsome, he might not have succeeded.
You have gained access to the system, or what is left of it, but there’s another obstacle to overcome—understanding the alien programming.
Interpreting the alien code will require a culture check that you specifically can NOT use the console as a computer to take a 20 so you must roll. Alternatively, if anyone has Comprehend languages they would automatically understand it.
