"Hold. There's something over there." Darous walks towards the rubble and points out the hole leading to the basement of the building when something catches his eye.
"What's this?" and then starts pulling away at some of the rubble and pulls out a metal strongbox. He tries pulling at the lock but it doesn't give. "Still locked." he says looking back up at the group.

A dark hole in an area reportedly full of ghouls. Anyone want to guess what is down there?
Mr Redgrave, can you please provide light? I have a feeling I am going to need my flail soon.
Grergof pulls out his flail and stands watching as the others examine the box.

Darius hands the box to Spugnoir. "Maybe acid will burn through the lock?" then he walks over to some rubble and picks up a fist sized rock and casts Light then tosses is into the hole and looks down to see what he sees when it lands.

Darius kneels and listens for any sounds coming from inside.

Ghouls. I'm not leaving these behind. I'm still not happy about leaving those Wraith.
They know we are coming so I should be the first one in.
Any protection you can give me will be welcome, because I think they will be waiting for me as soon as I crawl through the tunnel down there to make us a beachhead.

Stam will gather some torches from Ned's saddle bags, lighting them and passing them down to Grergof when he has gone down.

Sorry guys was out at a show, but I'm back.
Climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (9) - 4 = 5
Darius grabs the rope and wraps his legs around it and uses one hand to stabilise himself as he tries to slide down the rope into the room and once his holy energy is in range he lets Iomedae's energy wash like waves away from him and Grergof down below. Which probably doesn't work cos he falls on his butt.
Channel Energy Harm DC15: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7 (Ugh you're kidding me that's not even half! Dammit dice roller!)

Spugnoir misses the point where he wanted to hit but luckily two of the ghasts are still in the slash and Grergof is not.

The one who was hit by the earth elemental is destroyed. The other one is badly burned but still standing.

Darius finally lands on the floor and charges towards the ghast drawing his sword as he does and as it exits the scabbard with an upward stroke he strikes at the ghast.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 = 26 (The +2 is for charge if there's room)
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 (Nope)

the elemental gets a +1 atk and dmg when both things are touching the earth.
Stam takes a deep breath in lets out what looks like a silent scream at the lead ghast.
Ear Piercing scream: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 Will save DC 15, or it is dazed.

None of the ghasts can take what Darius and Stam are dishing out. They are both destroyed.
Buried among the debris in the cellar are 12 silver crossbow bolts in a quiver, a slightly melted gold belt buckle worth 15 gp, and an iron bracelet with silver filigree work depicting a moon eating an owl worth 75 gp.
on the vial is very damp, but the words “Vorkstag and Grine, Chymickal Bleach” are still clearly visible.

Thank you all. Without each of your help I doubt I would have made it back out of this nest. Those things are far nastier then I had read about.
And the stink... Pheww.
Are we done down here? I would like to get back in the holy sunlight.

Stam will look at the Earth Elemental.
"Thank you my little friend, you helped save a life today."
Stam will take down the grisly mobile, looking at the earth elemental and asking it to dig a hole. Once that is complete Stam will dismiss the elemental and place the skulls in the hole, covering it up.
"So now to inspect above?"

Fire is good in destroying evidence and time works for that too. What you have left is the metal box that needs a special 'key'.

Stam walks over to Ned, untying the rope and rubbing the Oxen down.
