Gamon's initial charge cleaves entirely through the zombie, leaving it in twitching pieces on the floor, and Gamon's missiles blow a second to pieces. Crazed laughter comes from downstairs.
"Ooh!" cries a feminine voice. "Is that new playmates I hear upstairs? I'm glad, I was getting so bored with my toys!"
"In the name of city of Korvosa and the Lady of Graves, SHOW YOURSELF NECROMANCER! WHO ARE YOU?!" Jolon yells as he moves towards the stairs to deal with the zombie there.
The laughter continues to tinkle up from downstairs. Clearly the owner is unhinged.
The final zombie on this floor starts dragging itself toward Aloysia, arms reaching out to grasp and crush. Majenko rushes in through the open doorway, prompting the zombie to attack him instead.
He nimbly dodges before getting right in the zombie's face, beating his wings at its neck and shoulders.
Jolon follows Majenko and Aloysia and strikes at the zombie.
Nicolai walks over to the railing and peers down into the foyer below trying to track the sound of the voice.
Unsure of the speaker's location Nicolai casts a spell into the room below as a ball of light explodes, engulfing the four zombies furthest from the door.
Gamon moves towards the staircase, keeping a wary eye on the last visible zombie as he prepares to engage whoever is laughing.
Aloysia takes Majenko's distraction as an opportunity to slide in closer, , and try to attack the zombie's weak points...
Jolon and Aloysia's combined attack destroys the zombie in a flurry of blades and still putrid viscera. Down in the floor below Nicolai's spell completely disintegrates the zombies targeted in the flash, turning them to little more than ashy smears on the ground while the final zombie couple continues dancing.
An elven woman winks into visibility on the stairs as Nicolai begins leaning back from the railing saying simply, "Aw! My babies! They were dancing so beautifully!" before firing a bolt up at the man.
Having lost her invisibility she cries out to her minions, "Go get them lovelies!" The zombies on the floor below stop their dance and begin ascending the staircase.
Majenko swoops back and forth, confused as to which target to go for. "What should I do?"
Nicolai pulls the bolt from his arm and stares in morbid fascination as blood continues to ooze from the wound. He flexes his hand to see if everything is working before casting another spell as shining motes of dust appear in the air around the zombies and the crazed elven woman, coating and blinding them, before moving away from the railing to join his companions
As soon as they come within arms reach, Gamon unleashes a flurry of attacks directed at the nearest of the two zombies.
Nicolai's spell coats the entire stairwell in glitter and glitz, though it doesn't seem to stop the elf or remaining zombie from being able to see. "Aww," she pouts, "I wanted to play Hide and Seek. You're no fun!" Gamon smashes the first zombie to come up and reach him while the elf on the stairwell frowns through her glittery exterior.
"You treat the bodies of the honored dead as toys for your amusement! This desecration is no game!" Jolon bellows. He approaches the zombie and hacks at it!
The elf jester cackles madly. "Come find me darlings!" she calls before rushing down the stairs and toward the front of the manor.
Aloysia stands at the railing and tries to strike down on the zombie's head from her position,
Aloysia has trouble hitting the zombie through or over the bars of the railing, neither of her daggers making contact.
The zombie doesn't feel the need to swing over the bars and attacks Jolon, the closest living target with its arms raised high.
A large dent is left in the wood flooring where the zombie's hands hit. Majenko takes the opportunity to fly in the face of the zombie, drawing more lunging growls from it.
The little drake is nearly smacked out of the air, but he maintains his altitude and bites at the zombie to ward it off.
Blood still seeping from his wound, Nicolai reaches into his backpack pulling a vial from within. Popping the cork with his teeth he downs the potion, sighing with relief as some of the wound begins to close.
Gamon turns his attention to the second zombie, smashing through it and stepping over its body as he moves towards the stairs.
Jolon strikes at the monster before him!
Jolon follows Gamon down the stairs.
Aloysia heads to the base of the stairs, daggers ready to strike anything that comes close
Nicolai reaches into his pouch to retrieve the Pearl of Power and recalls the Glitterdust spell he had just cast, then he joins the rest of the party downstairs.
Downstairs none of the doors are fully closed, and the entire area has begun reeking of putrid flesh and coppery blood. The elf was last seen heading toward the front of the mansion, but the doors leading outside are still closed.
Gamon walks slowly towards the front of the room, peering through each of the doors he passes for any sign of the elf.
Jolon follows, doing the same.
Nicolai casts another spell , fine tuning his senses. Once cast he proceeds down the stairs and peers into the room opposite the one Gamon is investigating.
Moving past a den you notice two masked people standing near some chairs in lion masks being served by a third in a peacock mask. They don't seem to notice you and continue going about their business. Looking into the room nearest the front door on the left reveals the couch and table are slightly askew, but whether that's from the events leading up to the state of the mansion or the elf is unknown. The same appears to be true for the room on the right, the chairs pushed out from the table, a deck of playing cards forgotten in the midst of a game.
Majenko flies down, inspecting the room, but unwilling to venture further into the house on his own.
Aloysia moves to the opposite wall from Majenko and tries to sneakily peek around the wall into the next room
The people in masks are clearly going through the motions, and the signs of blood veil are all over them. Likely these are more zombies programmed by the elven woman.
Gamon steps into the room and swings at the first of the three zombies.
Gamon cuts through the majority of one of the lion masked zombies, drawing the others attentions to him. The one he attacked swings its arms at him as the others start swarming in.
Nicolai shouts as he disappears from view. Once invisible, he moves quietly to the other opening in the room and scans it for the elven woman "Come out, come out from wherever you are." he taunts.
Jolon strides after Gamon.
"BURN!" he commands, raising his spiral and his eyes shining with blue fire. Then it surges out, washing over Gamon like a cool breeze but searing the zombies with sacred power!
Two of the zombies immediately turn to ash, but the third remains standing.
Aloysia's ears perk up once the sound of the flash fried zombie dies down. She says to the group as quietly as she can, "She's in the south, I hear her. I'm sure Gamon can handle the remaining one," then, turns and heads to the doors to the southern room.
She scans the doors for traps or locks
This door, like the others lies ajar enough to be easily pushed or pulled open without issue. Except if you're the size of a housecat as Majenko quickly finds out when he can't get the door to move very well.
Gamon turns his attention to the last zombie in the room, doing his best to end its un-life with two quick chops.
Jolon marches into the room and raises his spiral again.
"BURN!"
All of the zombies begin burning from the power of Jolon's faith, though none of them simply turn to dust this time. The mad elf woman springs out from her hiding place, opening fire of the half-orc cackling with glee again.
Her goal accomplished she springs across the table to continue her demented game, heading out the south east door and neatly kicking food from the table at Jolon.
Aloysia sees the direction the woman moves and heads around the corner to try to cut her off. Reaching the door she checks for traps/locks
Nicolai moves up behind Aloysia, waiting for the crazed elf to step into the room.
Aloysia doesn't notice any traps or locks on the door.
Majenko flies through the door behind Jolon, trying to avoid the reaching zombie hands from the table.
He does and starts attacking one of the most damaged zombies with his tail.
The zombies all seem to ignore him and start focusing on Jolon, the larger living thing in the room.
