Loot list

Harrow point uses:
  • Constitution Rerolls: PC can spend a Harrow Point to reroll a Fortitude saving throw, stabilization check, or other Constitution-based check. She must abide by the new result (although if she has additional Harrow Points remaining, she can use them to attempt additional rerolls).
  • Damage Reduction: PC can spend a Harrow Point to gain DR 3/—. This damage reduction persists for the duration of the encounter in which she spent the Harrow Point. A PC can’t spend multiple Harrow Points to increase this damage reduction.
  • Fast Hit Point Recovery: A PC can spend a Harrow Point after resting for 1 minute to recover from her recent ordeals. She regains a number of hit points equal to her character level and 1 point of ability damage each time she does so (this does not remove ability drain). She can spend a Harrow Point in this manner once after each encounter.
  • Number of times plague has been contracted:
    Aloysia = 0
    Gamon = 2
    Jolon = 1

Gaedren warily draws his dagger while standing upright once more. He sneers at Gamon and Jolon around him, "And what will you do, huh? Try to bring me to call for killing your mommy? Or all those patients I kept sending your way? Give it your best shot!"

While getting up his AC is 12

If the old man does not take 7 or more hp of damage:
Gaedren slashes with his dagger in an attempt to drive Gamon, his less armored target, back a step or two.

    Old Man Slash!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
    Old Man Confirmation!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
    Old Man Damage!: 2d4 - 4 ⇒ (2, 2) - 4 = 0

Gaedren's skill is excellent and his knife is mighty sharp, but his muscles are so weak he only manages a superficial cut across the bridge of Gamon's nose. Only 1 pt non-lethal b/c of strength penalties.

Gaedren is still standing, though breathing heavily and bleeding from multiple puncture holes and slashes, "We can work this out, I know we can."

Will also wait for other AoO before seeing if his spoiler text will go off.

Well, this is probably the easiest job I've ever been on. "Nicely done, boys! Now, would you two like to continue your rage on that thing," pointing to the thrashing beast. "I'm a little apprehensive about large water creatures with giant teeth at the moment."

    "Let's empty his pockets, first."

Jolon checks to see if there's anything in Gaedren's possession that they might want to take, or at least not mind losing at the bottom of that tank.

    Gaedren's Stuff:
  • Well-crafted (mwk) Padded armor
  • Intricate dagger with blade etchings (mwk)
  • Cherrywood (mwk) hand crossbow with 9 bolts (last is in Gobblegut)
  • brass key
  • rusty iron key
  • As a side-note I will not say what is and is not magical off-hand, I expect Detect Magic to be used for that (though I will call it Magic Eyes cause it sounds funnier.

Gobblegut eye is drawn to Gamon's movement across the planks and surges from the water to snap at him.

    Swim: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

Unfortunately for Gobblegut he doesn't get enough distance to effectively threaten Gamon.

Aloysia immediately looks at the dagger, noting the craftsmanship, but doesn't speak up about it at the moment. Anyone who may have been looking at her may have noticed the quick flash of greed directed at it before she regained her composure.

"Good thinking, but I wouldn't mind a little evidence of his death first!" She heads over to the body as Jolon rustles about his body and...

    Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

I really kind of wish know local wasn't the default to "finding weaknesses in humanoids. Knowledge (Anatomy) would be so much more fitting, but also so much less useful as a knowledge skill!

...makes sloppy work of cutting off Lamm's left ear. She frowns at her shoddy work, Professor would be highly disappointed...if he knew I was watching his classes. Or if he knew I was doing this. She tries to play it off like she was just taking revenge in how crudely she cut off the ear.

    Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
    Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

GM, I put both so you could decide which was more appropriate for her sloppy cut job.

My mistake, I get so caught up in the order of things I sometimes miss what should be obvious.
Aloysia: Bluff would be more appropriate I think.

The sound of a door crashing open from the outside draws everyone's attention, even over the sound of Gobblegut thrashing about in his pit. A slight half-orc wearing an eyepatch and a purple bandana strides to the end of the pier and is able to see Cecil and Gamon. He giggles inanely and calls up to the fishery, "You were right Yargin! Got some intruders in the old man's layer!" He looks right at Cecil and giggles some more, "Now you're gonna pay for stepping on our turf, hahaha!"

    Giggles Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Giggles rushes charges Cecil and swings his flail at Cecil's leg, looking for an easy knockout.

    OHKO!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
    Knockout!: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 nonlethal damage

The flail smacks Cecil meatily in the thigh, and though it is going to leave a serious bruise and rattle his bones some it doesn't look like it is as bad as it could have been.

This computer won't let me update Google Drives, but Giggles is standing just outside the door. Because of the height of the door both parties receive the benefits of cover, even against melee attacks (does not apply for small characters).

GM Fez, did we succeed in dropping Gaedren in the water or not?

Yep, he's down there. Gobblegut is just a little too furious at the moment to notice, but when he does... Eeew.

Ouch, no matter what, that's... got me at 1 nonlethal hit point left before I get dropped! Mages be squishy. :p

Cecil staggers from the strike hitting him in the thigh, and it was finally enough to dislodge him from his grip on the doorframe. He sees the opportunity to move along the north walkway and he does so, taking care to avoid the giggling dunce.

Taking a full round to withdraw along the north walkway.

"*Giggle* Aww. *Snort* Plaything doesn't want to play anymore hehehaha!"

Gamon's axe takes a large chunk of hide and flesh off Gobblegut who lets out a hiss that draws to a whine. The gator retreats to the center of the pool and sinks down to its belly letting only its eyes and nostrils stay above water. It then spies Gaedren's corpse slowly bloodying the water and dives after him, always looking for an easy meal.

    Gobblegut gobbles guts: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (6, 2) + 8 = 16

Little is left of Gaedren's corpse but bloody froth.

Apologies! I'm back, very long work weekend. Semi-related note, my posting ability will probably be limited Wednesday-Saturday. I'll be out of town for the holiday, but I'll still try to at least get in one per day.

Aloysia takes a look around assessing the situation. Well, I certainly can't risk throwing into that mess of people over there. Instead, she opts to scout the area of anything of note like hidden cubbies, traps, and of course, treasures.

It's fine, I take no umbrage with holiday stuff coming on soon. I don't expect much posting over those periods of time, but I'll be checking in.

Searching through the piles of stuff Aloysia manages to find a cabinet marked "IN CASE OF SPIDERS". Inside are seven vials of a foul-smelling unguent Vermin repellent, and a darkwood coffer.
