Miana darts into the heart of the fray before the undead can react. "Irori, channel your divine purity into me so I can end these poor abominations!", focusing on the headless zombie.

She then touches the holy energy into her foot into a devastating double butterfly kick at the ogre, then the giant next to him!

Sweeping smite! This is where CoI really shines. Unfortunately I didn't think ahead and built mine with tetori/grappling so he doesn't make full use of it. Makes me want to retry with another one some day.

Miana rushes into the middle and kicks the ogre, working around to blast another undead giantkin as well! Kufieno rushes to her aid and nearly brings down one of the zombie giants.

runechill hatchet:
Crap, I forgot to use that ability!

RUNECHILL HATCHET
PRICE
5,312 GP
AURA moderate necromancy CL 5th WEIGHT 6 lbs.

Runechill hatchets are sized for Large creatures, but resizes so it can be wielded by Medium creatures as battleaxes or Small creatures as greataxes. Their blades are jagged and carved with Thassilonian runes, and the weapons always feel cold to the touch. A runechill hatchet otherwise functions as a +1 battleaxe, but once per day as a free action, its wielder can cause the runes on the blade to flare up with flickering cold blue light. For the next 5 rounds, the axe deals an additional +1d6 points of negative energy damage on a hit. Any creature that takes any amount of this additional negative energy damage must also succeed at a DC 12 Fortitude save or take 1 point of Strength damage. An undead creature struck by a runechill hatchet does not gain this negative energy as healing, but instead must make a DC 12 Will saving throw or flee as if panicked for 1d4+5 rounds.

Sorry, pretty busy week for me and this one slipped by me! I won't be at GenCon this year due to some unforeseen work circumstances so I'll still be on the boards the rest of the week.

Ref: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Ref: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Ref: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

After Rissi's blasts of magic and the dual power of the sulis, the forgefiend collapses in a pile of molten metal.

Out of combat!

Retcon healing and such as needed but I'm going to move us along since we missed a few days of actions this week:

You find nothing of value in the forgefiend's lair and head to the north. The long hallway there has a looming ceiling forty feet above and is decorated with an intricate display of stone supports and beams. The walls are carved in long swaths of densely scribed runes-the seven-pointed star is repeated often. To the east, the hallway has caved in entirely-a battered door protrudes from the rubble, but the half beyond is completely filled with detritus.

To the west, the hall ends at an immense bronze double door that bears a huge mirrorlike silver inlay of the ubiquitous seven-pointed star. This set of doors has no obvious hinges, handles, or locks, save for a single tiny star-shaped indentation at the center of the larger mirrored star.

Thassilonian:
The runes on the walls are meditative prayers to the Peacock Spiri meant to calm and prepare the minds of any who seek to use the library. You are affected by a calm emotions spell for 10 minutes.

Not sure on where the party stands Hp-wise, the headers appear to indicate full Hp or close. Feel free to ask for healing if you need some.

Lucian examines the runes on the wall, and translates for his companions. "These runes are meditative prayers to the Peacock Spiri meant to calm and prepare the minds of any who seek to use the library, which I surmise must be close. Perhaps behind these doors? However, I must warn you that the calming effect from it won't work well with Evanya's good hope spell."

does the effect hit everyone or just Thassilonian speakers?

An insidious ward. If Mokmurian is prepared for us it will *chhh* leave us vulnerable - until he attacks and breaks the effect. Alas, *squeak* it doesn't matter. Nothing matters, really. Alas, alack."

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Just if you read the prayers, which I would presume the Thassilonian speakers would do as soon as they enter the hallway.

Which doors would you like to go through? The doors to the west have "no obvious hinges, handles, or locks, save for a single tiny star-shaped indentation at the center of the larger mirrored star." There are two sets of doors to the north though.

Miana sees the miniscule wizard fish out the sihedron and she aids Rissi in inputting the device to see what happens.

Hahaha! I do allow permanency spells in my games. And they can often be used to great effect. My Reign of Winter group cast a permanent anthropomorphic animal and a few other things on the sloth animal companion (named Sloth) so it could use weapons and talk, although all it ever said was, "Slooooooooooooooth."

Rissi gets Miana to help her put the amulet to the door but nothing happens at first. Then suddenly there is a blinding flash and you realize that there must have been more to the ritual than that-a password, perhaps-for the blinding flash has brought into being a strange creature that looks something like an emaciated child with clawed hands, surrounded by a nimbus of near-blinding light.

Everyone needs to make a DC 25 Fortitude save or be permanently blinded

DC 22 KN (planes):
Creatures of burning light and strange geometry, shining children are a terror to behold. Beyond the flares of energy that constantly burst from their forms (particularly in beam-like gouts from their eyes and mouths), the creatures are vaguely humanoid, with strange hands that each bear four fingers. Occasionally summoned by powerful wizards in search of rare arcane knowledge, the shining children (who disdain individual names) communicate via telepathy, a psychic roar like metal tearing that sometimes resolves into strained and raspy words.

Though they harbor many secrets, their greatest secret may be their own origin. Numerous theories abound—that the shining children are beings from another dimension, avatars of a dying star grown sentient, or creatures of light battling living darkness at the edge of reality.

immune to blindness, fire, and poison; resistant to cold and sonic

DC 27 KN (planes):
They emit an aura of blinding light. Their touch burns, although this can be extinguished by casting darkness or a similar spell in the vicinity. They can also shoot off rays of searing light.

I think Seal is still on vacation:

- Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
- Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
- Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
- Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.

Out of combat!

One of the doors to the north is an used storage room; the other door leads to a strange, empty room smoothed over to an even greater extent than the other chambers in this complex. Every angle of the walls has been modified into a gentle arc, removing any element of harsh regular lines entirely from view. Patches of what appear to be scorch marks stain the walls and floors here and there, especially to the south, where part of the wall has fallen away.

DC 22 KN (planes):
This environment would have been ideal for studying a hound of tindalos, as they can move through dimensions via angles or corners.
