Knowing that there was trouble in the water Parches would have drank his potion of touch of the sea and cast a shield spell from one of his scrolls before jumping in.
Also, not that it would have made a difference here, but Patches took improved initiative at the level up. He has a +8 bonus now..

Faced with many teeth trying to chew him to pieces Patches decides to deal with one of the adaro first. Using his unusual fighting form, he stabs at the creature that just paralyzed Glub, then tries to call on his magic for another attack, but loses his concentration.

Oh s&@+, I didn't even realize Shoallana was that hurt. I thought the first round attack missed for some reason.

Unfortunately hydrated vitality doesn't say anything about stopping bleeding, nor does fast healing. So I think you'd still be bleeding every turn but your vitality can counter some/most of it at least. Unless you can show me what I'm missing about it stopping the bleeding somehow.

Two questions: first, how far could Ursion get in retreating after taking down the adaro; and second, if the sharks have animal intelligence is there a reason they aren't going for the easy meals (i.e., the downed adaros)?

Ursion could have used his move action after killing it if he wished.

Well, the adaros were telepathically commanding the sharks to attack but I guess once the adaros fall unconscious they would go for them. But in the same line of reasoning, the sharks should be going after Glubby and the others who are also floating unconscious nearby....

It is not said that the crew helps since you are underwater now and they are not. They could fire crossbows and whatnot but with the penalties for shooting in to water I honestly don't know that it will/would have made a huge difference.

Parches climbed back into the ship. I'm hoping someone on the crew can do something for him before he bleeds out.

He hears splashing behind his head as Glubby wonders what is going on. They better reel me in... Just letting me float here like this is embarassing.

They do have a bard with CLW!

Jaspin, one of the crew, runs up to Patches and casts a curing spell:

clw: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Let's see, they also have an alchemist but not with the infusion discovery. Luckily:

Vancid, the ship ballistae expert, also runs up to Patches and hands over a potion.

cmw: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (7, 4) + 3 = 14

Captain Lanteri herself comes to the side of the boat and curses at the large amount of blood in the water and the swarming sharks. She drops her pistol on the deck and casts a spell to turn invisible. A large splash is heard in the water nearby....

@Ursion: the wreck would probably be too far away but you could try like Patches to climb back up to the ship. Without a climb speed it will be harder but not impossible; there are ropes and things to grab.

He'd go for the closest way to get clear of the sharks, because they swim a whole lot faster than he does.

Healing magic from the crew quickly gets Patches back on his feet. "Quick! Throw ropes to them!" He points to his struggling companions. Vaulting the rail, he scrambles down and grabs Glub, trying to haul him out of the water.

I believe that last heal takes Shoal to around +1

Coming to, Shoal quickly scans the area and sees the dire straits the party is in, as she grabs the wand from H, and begins looking to heal people.

Can't tell how close Shoal is to the sharks.

Seeing the adaro down, Shoallana tries to draw upon her aquatic heritage and urge the sharks to go elsewhere for their dinner.

Wild empathy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

In their bloodlust the sharks don't seem ready to listen to Shollana. Instead they both go after Harold!

bite: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (5, 2) + 10 = 17
and 1d6 bleed

bite: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (6, 3) + 10 = 19
and 1d6 bleed

Captain Lanteri then appears behind one of the sharks, her rapier jabbing at it from behind!

mwk rapier: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 2 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 4d6 ⇒ (5) + (6, 3, 1, 2) = 17

mwk rapier: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
damage: 1d6 + 4d6 ⇒ (1) + (6, 5, 2, 2) = 16

The Captain nearly takes one of the sharks down but is now vulnerable out in the water! The bard Jaspin casts a spell and reaches down to Ursion. "Touch my hand!"

clw: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Vancid, meanwhile, takes out his wand and keeps working on Patches.

clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Some of the other crew throw ropes over the side of the ship to make it easier to climb back in.

2. Glubby, Shoallana, Ursion, Harold, and Patches

Was Ursion able to get out of harm's way before the sharks attacked him? If not, he's down (though Harold's use of the wand would have been enough to stabilize him, at least).

Aaand now I'm at -3 HP. I assume the bleed happens before I can act.

Con Save: 1d20 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (20) + 1 - 3 = 18

At least I'm stable until the bleed hits again.
