To the northwest lies the bell tower. What remains of the decayed wooden steps barely ascend to the second landing. The rest of the stairs collapsed long ago, leaving a tarnished and forlorn bronze bell hanging 30 feet above.
The new two rooms are bare chambers that must once have been sleeping quarters.
Deeper into the monastery past the ruined fountain and the rubble of fallen columns you see that much of the bedrock beneath the chamber beyond has collapsed and slid down the cliff into the sea beyond, leaving the fractured remains of the chapel's hall open to the elements. On either side of the entrance are shallow alcoves, each containing a large open stone coffin. Ahead, the narrow remains of a flight of stairs wind precariously to a rough-hewn stone altar atop a column of natural rock that juts out over the sheer drop.
Detecting interlopers in the chapel, two things begin to rise from either coffin; they look to be skeletal snakes, quite large in stature.

In the room in the northeast corner of the monastery you find carvings of wind and waves lining the walls. The room contains the remnants of a desk and chair as well as a large stack of stone tablets stacked in one corner. The ceiling is long since gone, leaving the contents open to the sky.
In the room sits a squid, its tentacles wound up in a sitting position beneath it as it meditates in the room. "Greetings in the name of Gozreh. My name is Kahobeah."

"Ah, never mind the guardians. I am tasked only to protect this place in the name of Gozreh, not to protect everything that wanders in. I normally fly through the roof to avoid them." As the squid moves its tentacle to gesture at the open ceiling, you note that much of its form seems to be made of wind and floating particles; it is some type of air elemental that only takes the form of a floating squid. "I hope that more worshipers one day return to the island and the monastery to help me maintain this place. What are you looking for? If you do not desecrate this place any further, I can help you."

EndlessForms |

"Ah yes," the squid responds, "I remember Warvil. He came to the monastery several times to pray. There was a horn; well, only a mouthpiece of a horn, and a scroll that he left here for safekeeping. It was here for some years before he returned and retrieved it. I am afraid the instrument you seek is no longer here."
"You may, however, rest here and take anything else that you find in the monastery. I have no use for it and you seem a faithful and respectful bunch. Furthermore, you have helped me clear the place of some of the infestations so you have earned it."
In the other open chamber a plain stone altar sits precariously on an outcropping of rock that was once part of the monastery. Inside is a rolled up map of the Shackles presumably left here by Warvil that marks the island location of Jemma Redclaw's treasure. The island is labled "Brightglass Island" and next to it are the initials "WL" and a sketch of a three-eyed giant. The altar chest also contains a lesser reach metamagic rod, and a gray bag of tricks. There are several decaying bags holding coins: 645 sp and 567 cp. A hidden compartment holds a cache of aquamarine gems worth 1750 gp.
Dun dun DUN! Betrayal? Intrigue? Mystery?

Patches Sarsaparilla Whitepaw |

While the others talk with the master of squid style martial arts, Patches goes through the evidence left behind.

"Dead? Maybe now he is dead but he came back shortly after he left. He came to retrieve the mouthpiece. That was years ago now."
Patches recalls that the famed pirate Jemma Redblade discovered an ancient Ghol-Gan ruin. The cyclops could indicate that Warvil also found those ruins and discovered Redblade's cache on the island. If Captain Lanteri did not need the third piece she sent you here to get, it may be that she is already on her way to Brightglass Island!

Ursion Crispin |

A dawning comprehension crosses Ursion's face, and he rushes out to the highest vantage point he can quickly reach to look for the ship. "If she marooned us here, I'll gut her for her trouble."

Glub Glub, The Drowned Frog |

"She wouldn't do that! We have been sea friends! Mates!" Glubby says in disbelief.
He follows Ursion and tries to find his ship. As they walk, his tone gets much darke. "I'm going to drown her in the sea! No one maroons Glubby!"

Glub Glub, The Drowned Frog |

"Maybe the squid thing will take us to the island if we praise the sun Gozreh or something? F*!#$%g, no-honor ship's w*%#es!" Glubby rants as he moves back to the temple.
