Reflex Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
I get 1/2 damage if I make the save to avoid splash damage, correct? Also, I'm not sure what the DC is.
Desmond is at 17/28 HP if he failed the save.

Reiko - Ninja |
No save, but the splash is only 1 point of damage

![]() |

Thanks Reiko, posting at work is a little inconvenient. I need to be trained in sleight of hand.
Okay, so after taking splash damage, Desmond is really at 19/28 HP.

While managing to dodge the otyugh's bite, Desmond calls out to the group,THIS, my friends, is an ut-yug. He then turns to the beast, Hey ugly, whatever deal you have with these kobolds, I hope you got your grub already - 'cause you can't eat when you're DEAD!

GM Mike Tuholski |

Summary - updated and fixed - sorry again, everyone.
Ezrek and Shan join the fight in the small drainage chamber below. Desmond drops down behind them and ponders the beast in front of him.
You recognize this an Otyugh, which is a particularly vile and horrid creature that glories in the role of scavenger, wandering through vast underground caverns in search of the choicest cuts of garbage and waste. Otyughs are surprisingly intelligent and will often corm alliances with those who offer them a steady supply of delicious diversions in the form of offal and waste, transforming the creature into an effective form of trash disposal.
It is immune to disease and has a special constrict attack with its tentacles. It speaks Common.
Reiko pops out of thin air, taking the kobold by surprise (confirmed critical) and Anja angers the great beast by throwing Alchemist's Fire at it. Sahar discharges some electricity on the monster and its seems to grow angry.
The kobold steps around Reiko and tries to stab back.

Was the bite attack against me? The bite was on me the first time, but the 'repost' of the attack doesn't specify. Also, does my attack from a couple posts up count?

By maintaining the grapple the bite is made against the grapple target, Sahar in this case.

"The kobold is still threat. Look how he drew us down here. I would hate to see where else he would want us to go."

Summary of last round:
Desmond takes a mighty swing and takes a chunk out of the Otyugh. Reiko's blade bounces off of the kobold just before she disappears again. Ezrek lobs an alchemist's fire at the creature and it falls unconscious, still burning from the previous alchemist's fire.
Since it died after Ez hit it, Anja, Shan, and Sahar may change their actions if they wish.

Much less epic...
As the tentacle falls to the ground thanks to the efforts of her companions Sahar quickly regains her footing, drawing an arrow into her bow firing it at the kobold.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

GM Mike Tuholski |

Sahar's arrow hits the kobold square in the neck and it falls to the ground sputtering.
Out of combat
Looking around the room after the rush of battle, you see that this room appears to be an overflow chamber from the sewers above. The majority of the room is filled with trash and debris that has fallen into the room from above. The water is two to three feet deep on the outside of the room and the mound of trash peaks in the center of the room is a full five feet over the water line. Two grates lead to large drainpipes on the east and west sides of the chamber but both grates appear secure.
You may make Survival and Perception checks.
Searching around the room, you easily find a small cache of potion bottles and alchemical agents containing two potions of cure moderate wounds.

Survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 +2 for stonework

"It is not so bad down here once you get used to the smell."
Shan will comb through the piles of trash and debris for a unique antique or instrument.

GM Mike Tuholski |

There is a knotted rope that looks like it could easily be climbed to get back through the chute you dropped down.

Anja Grava |

T20 Perception = 30
Anja takes a look around the room and also looks at the chute they slid through to get there to see if it can be climbed if necessary.

![]() |

Shan investigates one of the gates, he pulls up a corpse of a man. He looks at the wayfinder on the body.
"Ah, such a shame, to die and have your body left down here with the rest of the trash. Rest in peace, Shan says reading the wayfiner,". . . Gil Flemish. May your transition be a peaceful one."
Shan also holds up a copper ring that is etched in a ring of feathers.
"A ring of Feather Fall, I would say. I've seen them a few times when I tended the Grand Lodge's wares as an initiate."
If there is nothing else of import here, Shan will climb up the knotted rope toward the higher level.
Once above, Shan will again look for unique antique or instrument. (Taking 20 for 28)

Potion roll: 1d100 ⇒ 79
HP: 15/44
Sahar looks around addressing everyone, "Good work Pathfinders. If anyone needs wounds healed, speak up. That thing, " she looks over at the otyugh, "nearly did me in." Turning to Desmond, "My thanks."
From above in the main shaft the fox whines into the chute.

![]() |

After Shan's investigation, he walks over to the knocked out kobold while retreiving his silk rope. He ties up the kobold and awaits everybody to regroup before recommending intergations.

Anja Grava |

Anja joins Shan as he inspects the body. "I know someone who was missing this young Pathfinder. May I take that Wayfinder to them so they will know of his fate?"
"I do not need healing as urgently as some of you. I'll leave the potions to those who need them now."

1d100 ⇒ 12
Ezrek begins to examine to otyugh, hoping to find some before now undiscovered alchemical reagent. He finishes examining the room before following his companions back up the chute. Once above, he heals himself with his wand and attempts to diagnose his condition after falling in the sewage.

Desmond waves a hand at the dwarf, Shan, take the potions - or at least one of them. I don't need 'em. Desmond then sheathes his sword and pulls out his wand of Cure Light Wounds. He then taps the wand twice, healing himself of the crossbow shots he took from the kobolds.
Two Uses, Wand of CLW: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4) + 2 = 11
Desmond then turns to Shar with a smirk, So, I guess I get your approval for how I handled this situation? That was a nasty thing; I do hate them ut-yugs. He then takes a look around the room. It looks like we've got a couple of options on which way to go. Shan, did you kill that kobold you had a hold of up there? You seem like the kind of guy that would prefer knocking someone out rather than killing her. If that thing ain't dead, maybe we could put the screws to it to get some help finding our bearings.
Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 +2 if tracking
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Desmond now back up to full health

Shan gently hands the wayfinder to Anja as if he is passing over a funeral flag.
"Too many Pathfinders have met their ends in these sewers."
Shan takes one of the potions and drinks it.

"Yes, he is still alive. Wisdom dectated keeping one of them alive. I will leave how we get the knowledge we seek up to you."

Sahar nods at Desmond's words, "It is important that one uses the correct tool for the job."
Sahar drinks the other potion. 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8

Sahar says "I believe that I have the required...skills to convince him to share information with us. Once he is awake, of course."

Desmond calls to the others down the chute.Well, it looked like most of thes tracks are heading down the east pipe.
He then glances at the bound kobold and continues, So, I can talk to Shan's prisoner up here if you want. Do we just want to find the way to Kibizax, or is there another line of inquiry I should make? That little tussle with the ut-yug just whetted my appetite for some more action. However, if any of you want to take a different approach, well - I'm sure we can get this little fella to be helpful.
Desmond then turns to the kobold. Hunching down over it's bound body, he slaps the creature across the face to ensure that he has it's full attention.
You're lucky - my monnk buddy prefers non-lethal methods. Your friend down there, Desmond nods toward the chute, and the ut-yug weren't so fortunate.
My friends and I are looking to make a deal with your chief, Kibizax. What is the best way to get to him?
We know you've got a talented trapsmith in your gang - what surprises can we expect from him?
I suggest you help us out, Desmond then stands up and places a foot firmly on the kobold's neck, otherwise I'll just have to kill you - not quickly like your friend, but slowly.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

GM Mike Tuholski |

The kobold being affronted by Desmond sputters as his eyes widen in fear. When Desmond lets the pressure off on his neck a bit, he replies in a quavering voice, "Take the east passage, then head north. Yippitok's shop is on the left side. Don't take the door straight ahead, all that does is ring a bell in his office. It's a dead-end. Tok's shop is hidden on the left. You can get to Chief Kibizax through Yippitok's shop. Please please please please please leave me be. And don't tell them I told you, they'll kill me, they'll kill me for sure."

![]() |

Desmond turns to Ezrek, I agree. However, if someone wants try a softer touch to see if he knows anything else, I wouldn't be against it. But what he says corroborates with the tracks we found.
Desmond then addresses Shan while gesturing towards the kobold, Brother Shan, this creature is your quarry. I leave it to you to decide what should be done with him. Personally, I don't care one way or the other. But, when we've all had a chance to catch our breath, I say we head down the east pipe and try to find Tok.

![]() |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Shan pays close attention to the conversation. If he feels the kobold has told any lies, he will whisper them to Des. If the kobold is truthful, he'll agree with Ezrek aloud.

![]() |

Sahar also tries to ascertain the truthfulness of the kobold's story.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15
Turning to face the kobold, Sahar removes a scroll from her pouch. "Now my little dragon, you are going to tell me about the lightning breather."
Evil Eye (DC 14 Will): -2 Saves (6 rounds or 1 round if save)
Misfortune (DC 14): Take the worse of 2d20. (1 round or save negates)
Weather the misfortune works or no cast Share Memory from the scroll (DC 13 Will, -2 for evil eye if he failed the first save, and 2d20 (worse) if he failed misfortune), and hopefully pluck out a memory about the blue dragon.

Anja Grava |

I think the East passage is from the otyugh's room. That was where we were when the GM invited the Survival rolls.
"Thanks, Brother Shan." Anja reads the inscription, opens the Wayfinder and tries to activate its light ability. She looks over to Reiko and gives her an acknowledging nod, and puts it in a pocket.
Anja moves over to the East passage that Des indicated, and begins searching for traps or an opening.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

![]() |

Desmond holds up a hand, Shan, before you put our friend to sleep, I have one other question for the kobold: What is in the passage to the west from where we killed your friend and the ut-yug? Is that the alarmed passage?

![]() |

"You need to answer the lady's questions," Shan responds to the kobold's outburst.
OK, now I'm confused. Is the kobold talking about the east passage in the chute room or is the kobold talking about the east passage on the sewer main level? Again, Shan won't do anything until all questions have been answered and everybody is done dealing with the kobold.

![]() |

I'm pretty sure he is talking about the two pipes in the chute room.

GM Mike Tuholski |

Yes, we're talking about the drainage room where you guys fell out of the chute. And sorry, I missed Sahar's post above. And yes, Ez knows what he's caught.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
"Kibizax. . . he has a. . . he calls it his 'pet'. . . a blue dragon that breathes lightning."

![]() |

Sahar's eyes roll back in her head as wisps of green smoke come out of the ears of the kobold at her touch. Sahar inhales the smoke, holding her breath for a few seconds then kneeling down and blowing it into the face of the fox.
Without any further regard for the kobold she turns to the others, "I was hoping the talk of the blue dragon was somehow false or otherwise an exaggeration. I've see the beast in his memories. It appears true that Kibizax rose to power on the strength of his pet."
