Sahar Hasna
|
Sahar opens her arms wide to Kibizax, bowing her head toward him, "You have done well to establish yourself King Under Absalom, and role of Master of Spells of the Grand Lodge awaits you. I am bid to bring you these gifts to show you Venture-Captain Dreng's seriousness. To open the gates of Skyreach you much speak the password inscribed in this wayfinder."
Motioning toward Ezrek, Sahar continues, "We also bring syeed documents from our Trade Prince, who is most excited to explore new business opportunities with the King Under Absalom. I believe you will find them to be most lucrative."
Sahar stoops to pick up the sack of gold, never taking her eyes from Kibizax and begins to take tentative steps forward expecting him to tell her to stop. Her eyes track up to the flying dragon. "M'lord, your pet?"
No worries Des, you just use that greatsword on the dragon when it's time :)
Shan Pangu
|
Shan whispers to those around him while still looking around in front of him, "This kobold is mad. The audience wants blood, but I don't see any other threats. Hostile talks, then hostile actions. Missile fire be ready."
| GM Mike Tuholski |
Kibizax leans in and looks angry as he hears Desmond muttering something. He sits back as Sahar speaks again (Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 2).
Shirt reroll or keep?
As Sahar tentatively steps forward, Kibizax bellows out, "Stop right there! I have not given you leave to approach the Almighty King Under Absalom!"
| GM Mike Tuholski |
"You presume to insult my intelligence you little b%~*$?!" Kibizax screams, foaming at the mouth and rising to stand on top of his chair. "I've enough of this racket! You Pathfinders are nothing! You're in my domain now!"
Sahar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Initiatives:
1. Reiko, Ezrek, Desmond, Sahar
2. Kibizax and his dragon
3. Shan, Anja
Reiko, Ezrek, Desmond, and Sahar are up!
Desmond Aesculus
|
Desmond drops Yippitok, quick draws his composite bow and fires off two arrows at the blue dragon.
Rapid Shot 1: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 - 2 = 17
Rapid Shot 2: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 6 - 2 = 12
Damage 1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage 2: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Shan Pangu
|
In a tone only to be heard by those around him, Shan quickly mutters, "Don't get in my path, I'll need the length of the aisle to run to him."
| GM Mike Tuholski |
The dragon appears unfazed by Desmond's arrows. A streak of lightning comes shooting from the stage and Kibizax ducks behind his throne.
R: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
The lightning will hit Shan, Ezrek, and Anja.
electricity damage: 6d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 3, 3, 4) + 6 = 23
Shan Ref: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Ezrek Ref: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Anja Ref: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Ezrek takes the full blast to the chest but Shan and Anja are able to dodge a bit and only get singed (half damage or no damage with Evasion).
The dragon then raises its wings and takes to the sky (approx. 30 feet up).
You guys are up!
| Reiko - Ninja |
Reiko -
Stealth move while invisible: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Acrobatics onto the stage: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Ready Action - If the kobol casts a spell then strike.
Would I also get an attack of opportunity?
Additionally was the lightning from the stage (like a trap) from the Kobol (like a spell) or from the dragon (breath weapon)
Preception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Note - Reiko was very close due to the run and should have had a decent view.
Sahar Hasna
|
Sahar runs forward and jumps up on the stage, calling out to those behind her, "That was the sorcerer, not the dragon!"
Climb: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
Sahar points her open hand, palm down at Kibizax. She takes the bone needle and pierces it through the flesh on the side of her index finger several times in quick succession glaring at the kobold while cackling under her naqib. "Your bones will rule under Absalom for years to come, mute King!"
Lipstich - DC 16 Fort save
| Anja Grava |
Anja pulls Ezrek behind some of the theater chairs, then she digs around in her backpack for a healing potion.
I believe she could take both these actions in one round. Next round will give him the potion, and draw a different potion for herself.
Shan Pangu
|
Shan gives a brief glance at his fallen friend, but then focuses on the target ahead of him. He puts down his head and runs down the aisle at full speed. When Shan reaches the orchestra pit, he jumps into the air.
Acrobatics (Jump): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
Gliding over the pit, Shan lands on the stage, continuing in mid stride until he runs just past the kobold king. Provoking an AoO
The dwarf grimly looks down upon Kibizax and flatly says, "Death is the only way out."
Activating Kobold Killer boon from Ambush in Absalom. +1 bonus to attack & dmg on Kibizax for the duration of the combat.
Desmond Aesculus
|
Desmond moves up the aisle towards the stage. He sees his companions beginning to surround Kibizax and decides to focus his attention on the dragon. He draws and fires an arrow.
Composite Bow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
| GM Mike Tuholski |
Ezrek takes a nasty jolt of electricity, but Anja rushes up and pulls him off to the side. Desmond fires a few more arrows at the circling dragon but they don't seem to be hurting it. Shan, Reiko, and Sahar move toward the stage and Sahar tries to sew the mad king's mouth shut but he resists.
Kibizax Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
The dragon circles ahead, looking out for a new target, as Kibizax jumps back toward his throne (5-ft step) and says a few words in Draconic, instantly turning invisible. The kobolds above cheer as the dragon descends lower on the Pathfinders.
Shan Pangu
|
Shan takes a step in the direction where Kibizax was last seen, and attempts to grapple the little bugger.
Miss chance, low bad: 1d100 ⇒ 2
"He's got to be there, keep attacking the throne," Shan says while pointing.

No, he 5-ft stepped away from you first. You weren't threatening him.
| GM Mike Tuholski |
At the minimum I get to throw a shuriken
1d2+8 sneak attack damage from above
Why would you be getting sneak attack? And anyways, unless you have Quick Draw it's a move action to draw a weapon (or part of a move action), but you already moved up to stage. Unless you drew your shuriken then, but you didn't specify that. It was more likely that you were drawing your melee weapon since your original intention was to hit him in melee. I'm not trying to be mean or not let you do what you want, but you need to be a little more specific with how/what you are doing.
Edit: nevermind, you were invisible, that explains the sneak attack.
| Reiko - Ninja |
It's a free action to draw a shuriken, there is no need for quickdraw. It's the one good thing about them and hell they need something good to make them 1d2 damage. But anyways I can throw the sword if you want, which is kind of better then throwing the shuriken anyway.
Although they are thrown weapons, shuriken are treated as ammunition for the purposes of drawing them, crafting masterwork or otherwise special versions of them, and what happens to them after they are thrown.
| Reiko - Ninja |
I was invisible yes :) it was the first thing Reiko did.
Also - There were 3 possible squares for the kobol to 5' step into away from Shan . I threatened two of those three. I doubt the kobol pinpointed my location so there is no way for him to know where I was. Straight backwards from Shan made the most sense for the move and I definitely threatened that square.
I moved and had a ready action to attack if he cast a spell. Now I really feel that I should have been able to make the attack normally with the sword and with an AOO to boot BUT my ready action still should trigger regardless even if he did step in the one square I did not threaten.
| GM Mike Tuholski |
You were right about the shuriken, sorry. I don't have any characters who use shurikens so I forgot about that. But still, he took a 5-ft step back on to the throne (so no AoO from you or Shan - Shan was 1 sq up before I took my action) and then cast (which set off your readied action). So I'll deal with that now.
The shuriken hits the crazed kobold but doesn't seem to scratch his thick skin.

Desmond, Sahar, Ezrek, and Anja are up!
| Anja Grava |
Anja pours a potion down Ezrek's throat (CLW), then she retrieves her own potion of Invisibility. "Stay down! We have some cover," she tells him as he wakes.
Desmond Aesculus
|
Desmond notices something strange about the dragon. "Hey, the dragon is a fake! I saw my arrow go right through it. Concentrate on Kibizax!!"
He drops his composite bow and double moves toward the stage while drawing his greatsword.

Ezrek sits up, rubbing his arms, still feeling spasmodic twitches in his extremities from the electric arc. Stay down? Preposterous, those are our companions up there. He flicks his wrist and his healing wand appears in his hand. He taps himself with and then tries to.stand on unsteady legs.
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
| GM Mike Tuholski |
Reiko throws a shuriken as Kibizax mounts his throne, but the shuriken does not appear to hurt the kobold as he casts a spell and promptly disappears. Shan jumps up onto the throne but gets no sense of the kobold. Reiko leaps forward but can not find him. Meanwhile, Anja and Ezrek are recovering in the back of the theater as the kobolds above shout "Boo! Come on! Get up and fight!" Desmond notices that the dragon is not real and draws his greatsword.
The dragon suddenly disappears in a puff of smoke as the kobolds "Ooo, ahhh" at the spectacle. Kibizax suddenly reappears on the other side of the stage and takes a bow, the kobolds screaming and applauding wildly.
You guys are up!
| Reiko - Ninja |
That shot looked true, yet it didn't so much as scratch him. What the hell. I don't appreciate being made to look like a fool.
Reiko grabs a vial from her belt and drinks it, hoping to gain some protection from this annoying creature.
Drink a protection from evil potion as a full round action. +2 to AC and Saves assuming he is evil.

Shan furls his bushy eyebrows at the show before him. "Something is amiss."
He then moves to the edge of the stage and tries to grapple Kibizax.

Anja moves down the aisle. "Very clever! You're just full of illusions to make you look powerful, when you're no more than a hedge mage! Kind of like calling a bunch of sewer tunnels a kingdom! That creature with the tentacles that we killed - was that your pet lion?"
She looks up at the kobold audience, though now she wonders if they're really there. "What about you all? Would you like to trade your fake king for some real gold? That's what we're willing to offer you!"
Double move.
| GM Mike Tuholski |
Reiko drinks a potion and Sahar continues to focus on her spell.
Shan tries to grapple Kibizax but his hands go right through the illusion as it smiles and waves to the crowd. Desmond climbs up on stage as Anja and Ezrek run down the aisle. The crowd laughs at Anja and boos her. They begin to throw rotten fruit and insults at all of you.
Suddenly, Kibizax appears besides Sahar, scowling at her.
You guys are up!
