The crew make their way slowly and awkwardly through the zero-gravity tunnel. The excavated tunnel walls, floor, and ceiling provide plenty of handholds for self-propulsion; the sensation is not-unlike swimming. The built-in suit lights of the six of you illuminate the 15 foot ceilings, bouncing off the stony walls in a chaotic fashion until the tunnel opens up. Telion and Idar emerge into a cavern littered with large chunks of rubble. A few boulders dot the cavern's floor.
Here is the Cavern Map

GM rolls: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d4 ⇒ 2
The crew continue to press forward into the darkness of the opening cavern, their flashlights creeping along the rocky surfaces as they pull themselves over them. Idar tries desperately to get to cover after taking two hits!
Idar Acrobatics Check: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 4 = 14 SUCCESS!
The kasatha moves successfully behind cover and pulls out his healing serum, preparing to use it to stem the copious bleeding.
Everyone else may act!

Telion of Castrovel |

"Aghh! My eyes. Can anyone see what's happening?"
With his eyes struggling to adjust, Telion reached out with his mind.
Detect thoughts in front of me. Also, let's go with graviton attuned for the extra +1 Reflex.

Jaxom "Exo-G" Sandstrom |

Computers: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
”It was remotely detonated. We need to get out of here, who knows how many more traps there are, or how many ambushers. I say fall back, and I will cover you.”
Jaxom will hold his position, waiting for his compatriots to fall back. He will ready to fire a shot at any ambushers.

![]() |

Armor: 1d100 ⇒ 95
+2 DEX for the combat
Diamaante cries out in pain as the grenade fragments pierce her armor and skin. She feels Jagjug's tinkering surging power through her armor, though, lending her extra alacrity. "Hang on, Telion! You can get through this!" she shouts, inspiring her fellow kasatha. "Jaxom is right, we should fall back and lure the sniper out!" She moves back towards the cave entrance.
8 SP restored to Telion.

Sorry! Busy holiday weekend - hope you all had a good one. Although looking at the map I'm not sure what the x's are?
August decides now is a great time to deploy his latest trick and he reaches down to activate a device on his belt.
1d4 ⇒ 3
Suddenly his body wavers and four Augusts are now standing around, crouched or with their pistol extended looking for a target.
August has activated holographic clone which will last for 20 rounds: When you activate holographic clone, it creates 1d4 figment images. These images remain in your space and move with you, mimicking your movements, sounds, and actions exactly. Whenever you are attacked or are the target of a spell that requires an attack roll, there is a possibility that the attack targets one of your images instead. If the attack hits, roll randomly to see whether the selected target is real or a figment. If it is a figment, the figment is destroyed. If the attack misses by 5 or less, one of your figments is destroyed by the near miss, and an attack that misses you due to a miss chance also destroys an image. Area spells and effects that don’t require an attack roll affect you normally and don’t destroy any of your figments. Spells with a range of touch are harmlessly discharged if used to destroy a figment.

The 'x's were where the explosions occurred. I've removed them now.
Jagjug is all-too-happy to fall back and moves past Diamaante. Telion gets a breather from Diamaante's specialised attention. August springs into quadruple-action.
Round 2!
The sniper fires again at the reeling kasatha crouched behind the boulder.
Ranged Attack on Idar #1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 281d10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 CRITICAL HIT!
Extra Critical Hit Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Thanks for the reminder, Diamaante!
Idar falls.
Everyone else may act!

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Remember, you don't have to roll to confirm crits in Starfinder. Natural 20s automatically confirm.
"No!" Diamaante screams as Idar falls. "We can't fall back now! We have to save Idar! Jaxom, he needs medical attention!"
The lashunta rushes to the fallen kasatha's side, falling on top of him to shield him with her body. "We need to find that sniper, now!"
Double move next to Idar and fall prone as a swift action, hopefully giving him cover.

Telion of Castrovel |

Athletics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
After a moment, his eyes adjusted and Telion noted what appeared to be a depression he could take cover in. He shoved himself forward, but lost his grip and had to stop short of the depression in order to stabilize himself.
Trying to double move into that crater, but I'm guessing an 11 doesn't make it. Is there any indication where the shots are coming from? Also, up to Graviton 2.

![]() |

As Telion's eyes come back into focus, he looks out into the blackness of the cavern in the direction of the shots fired at Idar.
Telion, please give me a Perception roll. Your athletics roll allows you to move half of a single move action - 15 feet.
Awaiting August.

Telion of Castrovel |

Full round for 15 ft? (Asking for clarification, not dispute)
Updated my position on the map to be 15 ft of movement total.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

![]() |

Yup. DC 15 for movement in zero-g. If you make it, you can move yourself one normal move increment per round. If you fail by 5 or less, you can move 1/2 of that. If you fail by more than 5, no move. Certain things (i.e. jump jets) allow you normal movement.
Telion scans ahead and thinks he sees something. See the map

![]() |

August will charge up towards Telion, pulling his pistol as he moves forward. Over his team's radio he'll bark out:
"Watch for a female android, I'm getting a hit on a bounty notice!"
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Can I see anything to shoot? :D

![]() |

August lithely moves to Telion's side. Between the two of them, they can see multiple forms moving at the edge of their vision behind some form of partial cover. Jagjug screeches and attempts to rejoin Jaxom.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Round 3!
Two more shots ring out from the cavern!
Ranged Attack on Telion #1: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 4 = 101d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 MISS!
Ranged Attack on Telion #2: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 8 - 4 = 91d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 MISS!
Both shots ping off rocks near the korasha lashunta!
Everyone else may act!

![]() |

Diamaante searches Idar's belt for a healing serum. She gingerly lifts his mouth scarf and pours the serum in his mouth, careful not to look and preserve his dignity.
Serum of Healing: 1d8 ⇒ 7

![]() |

Diamaante finds the serum of healing near one of Idar's right hands, the needle of the hypodermic still sheathed. With haste, the damaya lashunta administers the drug to the kasatha marksman.
You can inject it instead of ingesting it; it works both ways, FYI.

Telion of Castrovel |

Which is good, since it's probably really hard to drink from a vial while wearing a space suit in a vacuum.
I can't access the map right now, so if someone could move me that would be great. I'm going to do something terrible, and hope I don't die! Can someone move me diagonally, towards the nearby crater, but above it. The basic idea is kick off the ground, get a shot off mid air, then next round kick off the ceiling to move down into the crater to minimize exposure to gunfire and death. Also... related question: Is there still a ceiling inside the cavern here, since there are craters on the floor? Obviously, if there isn't a ceiling I'll just move along the ground since I'd prefer not to fly out into space.
Telion's comm crackled on briefly, "Just like that time with the radikian asteroid worm...", then he kicked off the cavern floor, in a slow flip as he drew and fired his pistol at their attackers.
Slow motion movie pistol: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15, Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Fully graviton attuned.

Jaxom "Exo-G" Sandstrom |

Jaxom yells out, ”We are leaving. We have no idea where the attacker, or attackers, are. They are likely invisible. We’re getting torn up. Everyone out!”
Jaxom gets to his feet and moves away.

![]() |

You can fire this round, August, but you apparently didn't see them last round.
Jaxom announces his intentions and acts upon them. Jagjug follows.
Jaxom, please make an Athletics or an Acrobatics check.

Telion of Castrovel |

Athletics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Well, I know what solarian abilities I'm going to get if I survive long enough to level up.

![]() |

I've moved you on the map, Telion. You're about 10 feet above the floor of the cavern, BTW.
Telion attempts to bounce up to the ceiling but fumbles slightly, only rising halfway up towards where he intended. He fires ahead at the mixed group of snipers he can just make out...
GM roll: 1d12 ⇒ 1
...and one of the snipers disappears!
Idar curses in the kasathan tongue and grabs onto the rocks to orient himself from his off-kilter state. He pulls his rifle close and prepares to fire.
Move action to orient from his off-kilter status. Move action to pick up his rifle.
August, you may act!

![]() |

(Trick Attack, Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Attack (Azimuth Laser Pistol): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Nooooo, my Trick Attack damage ;_;
Damage (Azimuth Laser Pistol: 2d4 + 1d4 ⇒ (4, 1) + (2) = 7 Second 1d4 is Burn damage!
August levels his laser pistol and fires at the android, the coherent light forming a burning line towards the target.

![]() |

GM roll: 1d12 ⇒ 2
August’s blast tears through another holographic image, blinking it out of existence.

![]() |

Jagjug and Jaxom exit the cave; Jagjug moving faster than the uncoordinated technomancer.
Round 4!
The android sniper levels its rifle at the advancing Telion.
Ranged Attack #1 on Telion: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 8 - 4 = 111d10 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 MISS!
Ranged Attack #2 on Telion: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 8 - 4 = 91d10 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 MISS!
Telion's erratic movement throws off the android's targeting and both shots miss!
Everyone else may act! Of note, only August and Telion are within range to see the sniper.

Telion of Castrovel |

Please move me through the cavern in the direction I moved last round. I think I'm 20 ft. from the floor/10 ft. from the ceiling now?
Telion continued his awkward trip through the air, and continued firing at the sniper.
Pistol #1: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 3 - 4 = 13, Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Pistol #2: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 4 = 12, Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Still full graviton.

![]() |

Following on the same trajectory, you will hit the ceiling during this round. You may make a (DC 20) Athletics or Acrobatics check to safely stop, or you will not stop and gain the off-kilter condition. The off-kilter condition would not affect your first shot, but it would affect your second shot and you'd start the next round with that condition.
Telion, could you make an Acrobatics or Athletics check for me?

![]() |

Telion attempts to catch himself as he floats to the ceiling, but misjudges his trajectory and crashes into the ceiling instead. His first shot pinged off the armour of the sniper, and his second shot sails wider still thanks to the crash.
Telion, you're now off-kilter. You are flat-footed and take a –2 penalty to attack rolls. You can spend a move action to right yourself next round, but you have to do that at the start of your turn.
Jaxom inexpertly moves out of the chamber alongside Jagjug, the goblin providing a bit of stability for the flailing technomancer.
Idar pulls a grenade from his belt, and judging correctly, tosses it at the sniper. The zero-gravity environment carries the thrown weapon far past its normal range, right at the sniper.
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 211d6 ⇒ 3 HIT!
Idar scores a hit as the grenade detonates around the sniper!
Awaiting Diamaante and August.

![]() |

August tries to snap off two shots with his laser pistol.
Attack (Azimuth Laser Pistol): 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 5 - 4 = 11
Damage (?)(Azimuth Laser Pistol): 1d4 ⇒ 3
Attack (Azimuth Laser Pistol): 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 4 = 18
Damage (Azimuth Laser Pistol): 1d4 ⇒ 2

![]() |

Diamaante gets to her feet and moves towards where the others are shooting at somebody. She flails in the low gravity.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 = 6
Stand and move as far as I can toward the enemy. GM, please move me as far as I can go.

![]() |

August snaps off two shots, the second laser searing the side of the sniper's left arm. Diamaante clumsily pushes herself forward, catching her foot on the boulder and Idar and preventing herself from her full movement.
Diamaante, I moved you 15 feet, your max movement for the Acrobatics rolls.
Jagjug and Jaxom huddle down the tunnel, hearing the fire fight behind them.
Round 5!
The sniper aims her gun at the off-kilter solarian on the ceiling and fires a pair of bullets!
Ranged Attack on Off-Kilter Telion #1: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 8 - 4 = 61d10 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 MISS!
Ranged Attack on Off-Kilter-Telion #2: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 8 - 4 = 121d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 MISS!
Bullets spray around Telion but miraculously the korasha lashunta suffers no injury!
Idar propels himself forward in an attempt to get a clean shot on the sniper.
Athletics Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 SUCCESS!
The kasatha uses two of his four arms to guide himself gracefully across the floor of the weightless cavern as he aims his artillery rifle at the sniper.
Ranged Attack on Sniper: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 201d10 ⇒ 10 HIT!
Idar's shot blasts clean through the sniper's chest, blood and sparks spreading out in a small pool in the air of the weightless chamber behind the sniper. The enemy reveals nothing in their face, moving to reload their gun.
Everyone else may act! Telion, you must right yourself (using a move action) before you can act this round.

Telion of Castrovel |

Telion flailed about, finally finding a hold on the rocks and planted his feet. "Enough of this shooting nonsense," he said, then reached out to feel the gravitational pull of the rock around him, and vaulted through the empty space, leading with his graviton infused energy fist.
Move action to reorient, then standard action to charge at the sniper using Stellar Rush.
Athletics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Solar Fist: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15, Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Assuming all that works, people should get +1 to hit if I'm not blocking their shots.

![]() |

It’s semantics, but you’re not technically charging, Telion. Just moving and attacking.
