One of Jaxom's laser blasts scorches the strange metal of the alien robot threatening Telion, but his other blast, as well as August's shot, both fly wide, caroming off the plating on the walls of the corridor.

Round 3!

Initiative Order:
  • Robot
  • Jaxom
  • August
  • Jagjug

  • The robot angles forward past the solarion, but brings its heavy arm swiftly down on Telion once more.

    Melee Attack on Telion: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 181d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 HIT!

The arm crunches again into Telion's head, blood flowing freely from the lashunta's pate. Somehow, the solarian remains conscious. The robot's head swivels between targets.

  • Entry 1: "I am Moriko Nash, captain of the independent ship the Sunrise Maiden. It has been a privilege to fly free among the stars with my crew, but it seems that all clocks cease ticking at some point, and this appears to be my time. If you're reading or listening to this file, then you've likely found my body. Leave me with the stars, please; that's where I belong."

  • Entry 2: "We found this asteroid that you're likely on in the Drift. I couldn't tell you when we found it - that's the trouble with the Drift. Time doesn't work there, or at least time as I know it doesn't. We landed the ship on the rock and began exploring it, but it wasn't long before we were attacked by some terrifying creature."

  • Entry 3: "It's out there right now. It has taken down my crew and seems to consume life energy. We wounded it, sure, but when it heals itself off of your crew's life force.... Worse still, it seems to be able to phase through solid matter. I was able to re-purpose my armor's force field in order to project a bubble around myself that it wasn't able to penetrate. Unfortunately, I figured this out too late, long after everyone else was killed."

  • Entry 4: “I think I’ve come to terms with it. I won’t survive, but at least I’ve explored strange worlds and seen wonders I would never have dreamed of as a child. I’ve always been the master of my own fate, and I’m not going to change now. When my force field goes down, I’ll fight. But I’m saving my last charge for myself. My life, my death."

  • Entry 5: “This is my last will and testament. To whoever finds these files, I leave the Sunrise Maiden to you. It’s a good ship, and no matter where I’ve gone, it’s always brought me home... until now. If you treat it right, it’ll do the same for you. Like I said, leave my body where you found it—I came from the stars, and to the stars I’ll return—but the Maiden deserves to keep flying.”

There's a steady deep breath and the audio file ends.

    Culture DC 15:

But as a sign of good will I'm more than happy to take us all off this rock until we can get to an Admiralty court for proper distribution of the spoils."

Do I have a space disease the amps could cure by the way? I can't remember.
