Telion of Castrovel |

"Yeah, I'm not a fan of that stuff either Jagjug. Maybe after we get off this ship we can go hunting sometime and get some real food. And... I think I missed something while I was knocked out. How does salt water help us?"

Telion of Castrovel |

"Ah... does the ship have an internal fire suppression system? Could we flood it with salt water and spray the whole ship?"

Jaxom "Exo-G" Sandstrom |

”I doubt there is enough salt to accomplish a whole ship bath. Not to mention that salt water will increase the rate of galvanic and other corrosion of the components of the ship, and especially the wiring. There is a reason that fire suppression systems in electrical spaces tend to use dry chemical, or oxygen evacuation type gasses, so as to protect the electronics. Telion is having a bad day. Should someone else take the lead?”

Telion of Castrovel |

"I'll be fine," Telion replied as he headed to the next door. "I can't do much punching from down the hall. Though I suppose punching right at their faces hasn't done much either...eh... I need more practice I guess?"

Jagjug comes back to Diamaante after spitting out the protein goo. "New door. Glowy fist-man open it?"

![]() |

Telion opens the door, expecting the worst. Inside he finds a cabin that appears identical to the ones where they found Jagjug and Eloolly. The shared living space contains two simple bunks, a pair of open foot lockers, a small sink, and nothing else.

![]() |

”This one?” Jagjug scrunches his face in concentration. ”Yes, Garpok told me check bedsheets for shiny bits. I no find.”

![]() |

The cabin looks identical to the one you just opened with a different state of disarray.

![]() |

"That just leaves the air locks, right? Let's check them out to make sure we have covered every compartment."
Diamaante leads the group to investigate the remaining airlocks, fairly confident that all of the aliens have been dealt with now.

![]() |

In short order, Diamaante confidently leads the crew around to the port and aft airlocks, the only discerning characteristic differentiating the airlocks being size, as the aft airlock, crammed between the dual-thruster apparatus of the ship, is a much smaller airlock, not likely designed for cargo. The tow cables attaching the Acreon to the Drift Rock are anchored via the aft airlock, dark and massively-thick titanium cables designed for spaceships and satellites stretching deep into space in the inky black void to the shadowy indiscernible shape of the eponymous drifting cargo.
The crew pauses, realising their predicament - stranded in near-space to Absalom Station without a functional egress vessel on an abandoned, quarantined, and derelict mining ship with an uncooperative Eoxian emissary and a too-cooperative goblin pirate.
"Android-man, Jagjug give you upgrade good! Make it easier for you to see through bubble head!" the goblin cheerfully offers August as the crew ponders their next move back on the bridge.
You've completed a first pass through all of the rooms on the ship. I've taken the assumption that you'd return to the bridge to discuss strategy, so I've moved you all there. What next?

![]() |

How would he know I'm an android? My helmet visor is opaque because I'm in paranoid on-camera mode:D
"We haven't found any bodies and the airlock in the rear was open. My theory is that because the akatas were onboard the crew put the ship on autopilot and had it come home then went to the Drift Rock. I think we need to jump to the Rock."

![]() |

Jagjug seems pleased at August's suggestion.
"Oooh! We go space hoppy, yes? We space hoppy to Acreon after hiding on stupid ysoki ship - Garpok, Eloolly, Chragfoot, and me! Space-hoppy fun!!!"

![]() |

"I think you're right, August. We should rest here and make sure we are at peak capacity before heading over to the Drift Rock. There could be more of those aliens or worse lurking there."

Telion of Castrovel |

"Before we go jumping across along the tow lines we should probably see if we can get the comms back online and report back in on our findings so far. And at some point we should do a spacewalk around the outside of the ship to make sure there aren't any more of those creatures clinging to the outside, waiting to chew their way through the hull."
Is there any chance to repair any of the ship's systems?
In case its useful,

Telion wonders, in peering at the Acreon's shipboard computers, if someone could access the computers to access the communications functionality of the ship. He then realises something.
Would the crew like to rest properly - 8 hrs rest? Or a 10 minute rest?

![]() |

Jagjug notices Telion's attentions and tries to help as best he can. He begins exploring one of the shipboard computer access keyboards with his mouth, a pensive look on his face as he does so. He then pulls a computer key card out of his pocket and puts it thoughtfully in his mouth as he taps on the keyboard. He then plugs the keycard into a slot drive near his computer station.
Jagjug Computers Check: 1d20 + 7 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 5 = 21
"Triune!!!" The goblin bangs joyfully on the dashboard of the ship for a moment. He then looks around. "What?! Jagjug wacky-hack. Why you looky?"

![]() |

The crew determine that they could try to send word to someone on Absalom Station via their own personal comm devices if they had a personal communication identifier (PCI) due to their removed but intact orbit about Absalom Station.
Jagjug determines that the ship communications are currently locked out by Absalom Station Security, deferring everything to a repeating broadcasted message about the Acreon being under official quarantine.

![]() |

Telion and August, with Idar's cover, complete a brief spacewalk around the perimeter of the ship, determining that no further akata monsters are clinging to the hull waiting their chance to infiltrate the ship.
Where to, team?

![]() |

Diamaante uses her personal comm device to contact Chiskisk at the Lorespire Complex and apprise him of their progress. "We've cleared out the Acreon of hostile alien creatures. No sign of the crew, but we believe they may have abandoned ship for the Drift Rock. Our shuttle returned to the Station without us, so we have no means of returning on our own. We are going to rest before exploring the Drift Rock itself."
I think an 8-hour rest would be best so that Telion can get his resolve points back. We're not in any rush.

![]() |

"iT'sGoOdtoHEarfrOMyOUStarFiNdeRs," Chiskisk responds to Diamaante, his natural shirren voice grating and difficult in her ears. "ICanenQuIRewIThtHeEOxiaNAmbAssAdORWithReGArdstotHediSemBarkmEntOfYOurShiPw IthoUtYoUItDoeSeeMQuiTeiRReGularTobEsUre."
A pause filled with static makes Diamaante think that perhaps she's lost the call, or that Chiskisk has hung up, but then his voice continues, part of the message lost:
"----iSprOCeEdIngWeauThOrISEyouAnYoURTeamFulLAccESsToTheDrIFtrOCkfOrpuRpoSE soFRELocATinGthEmiSSingCreWofTheACReonDobEcaReFuLanDTAkeAllPrEcaUTIonStoAvo iDEntAnGLEmeNtsNeWsoFtHEirinVolVEmentMayPrOvEANnoyIngMorEtHanANYthinGbuTbEO nthEwATChFOrgaRpOkWEwOuLdcErtAInlyLIkeToqueSTIonHiMoRASSociATesiFpossIBlean DiDoBEliEvEaSubSTanTialreWARdwouLdbeINOrderFoRinFoRMAtioNleaDinGtOtHEreCOve RYofSAidSTolEnproPerTyCHiSkisKOUt."
And the call drops abruptly.

![]() |

Diamaante rubs her temples, the shirren's voice giving her a headache. "Ugh. I think he said we have permission to go to the Drift Rock and will be rewarded if we find out what happened to the missing crew members. Let's get some rest before we head out."

![]() |

August parses the Shirren voice a little bit more easily than his fellows.
"He also mentioned looking out for a Garpok and a substantial reward for the discovery of said Garpok and recovering stolen property."
August will turn his gun on Jagjug.
"I believe an explanation is in order."

![]() |

Unless Diamaante put the call on her personal comm unit on speaker for all to hear, August and Jaxom did not hear it. Diamaante?

Telion of Castrovel |

Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
"Remind me to see about getting a thought-to-speech communicator as a gift for Chiskisk some time. Let him communicate in his native tongue, and save all of his agents having to listen to that.
"I agree with Diamaante though, a bit of rest would be welcome, then we can head over to the rock. Before we do, let's check the ship's computers for any mapping scans the Acreon did before hooking it up for towing. If there are caves or anything on the surface, that's probably a good place to start our search for survivors."

![]() |

"Stolen stuff?" Jagjug asks, his wide goblin eyes even wider. "You mean, like stuff on ship stolen stuff?"

Jaxom "Exo-G" Sandstrom |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Computers: 1d20 + 11 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 5 = 23
Jaxom comments, ”Jagjug, you are quite good with computers.”
Jaxom also attempts to pull the keycard, to take a look at it.

![]() |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (15) + 5 + (5) = 25
Sensing the goblin's evasiveness, Diamaante tries a gentler approach. "Jagjug, we're friends right? And friends don't keep secrets from each other. Please tell us what you know about Garpok and the stolen property. I promise we won't hold you responsible for any wrongdoing."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 11 + (2) = 15
Boo. :(

![]() |

August, the second statement made by Jagjug has a different DC, so it requires a different Sense Motive roll. You're holding a gun on him, so I'm going to rule that you cannot help Diamaante's Diplomacy check, but you surely can do an Intimidate roll.
Jagjug attempts to keep the computer key card from Jaxom's grasping hands.
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Jaxom easily flicks the computer key card out of the console drive where Jagjug sits.

![]() |

Jagjug shifts uncomfortably in his seat, his eyes focused on the android who holds a gun on him. "Garpok got job. We loot ship. Jagjug job to wacky-hack computer. Card make it easier. Leave card, they say. We still loot ship?"
