It's been another year already? Cor, time flies!
Also need to remember to update Laara's online profile/level her up. She's a brawler/rogue who judiciously uses the Enforcer feat and nonlethal damage to debuff, but martial flexibility gives some options to mix it up as the party needs. Also has played parts A and B of this (well played A, 'played' (GM credit) B)

Greetings, salutations, and hello Laara, from the legendary, unparalleled, and peerless, General (yet quite specific) CHAK!
What can Chak do you ask? What can't he do? Well, avoiding getting smacked in the beak by just about every monster he comes across. (His AC is abysmally low for a front-liner at this level if he doesn't have time to prepare).
But he can make up for that in a variety of ways:
- He can hit things pretty hard, especially if he can attack a vulnerable spot.
- He can deal with pesky traps that get in our way fairly well, both magical and mundane. (GM: Chak has the trap spotter talent @+31.)
- He can play a supporting roll through the use of scrolls. (Up to spell level 6 wizard scrolls and spell level 4 cleric scrolls can be used and he normally can't fail the check to use anything level 5 or lower.)
- He can excel in limited diplomatic tasks (anything the Orator feat will qualify for).
In other words, he tends to slip into whatever role the party needs.

So... Chak is back for more punishment eh? Nice to have a familiar face, it means that A - I must not have been a terrible GM last run and B - That's one less high tier character for me to learn the mechanics of. Also, I'll be seeing you in slot 2 for Assault on Absalom. Regarding Trap Spotter, thank you for making my life easier. I'll have you guys make a general marching order and SOP for doors/scouting/etc.
This is the point where Chak remembers why my name is so familiar and suddenly remembers that he has a character in a different tier that he'd much rather play.
Laara looks somewhat similar to one of my other characters, so that shouldn't be too hard for me to pick up on. I do enjoy playing buff or debuff characters myself.
I'll be putting out a general call to rally the rest of the party probably this evening.
For what it's worth, I certainly would not consider it metagaming to prepare for this scenario based on your experiences in parts A or B.

Hi - just wanted to say I reassessed and think I've overcommitted myself in terms of games, so dropping out so someone else can have a seat. Have fun!

![]() |

I saw you had an opening for Solstice Scar, Version C and having played both prior versions with Fandral (who is signed up), decided to sign up.
"Good day everyone."

![]() |

"Greetings."
Still need a few updates to my sheet from Part B, but things should mostly be the same. Yami is basically a support/debuff necromancer with a lot of flexibility/utility spells.

![]() |

"Holly, another adventure together. We must be drawn together by some unseen force."
Fandral here. My fun character. He likes to parry and riposte, but I make sure to spoiler it all for the GM's viewing pleasure.
He has played both A and B

![]() |

Fandral! Another familiar face... from both sides of the table in fact. Played with and GM'd for.
So far we've got...
Lara (Brawler/Rogue)
Fandral (Swashbuckler/Gunslinger)
Yami (Wizard)
Holly (Bard)
Chak (WizardSlayer)
Once PM notification is working again I'll get a PM out for the last check-in. Please make sure your character sheets are up to date over the course of the next week or so. That way I can have a few days to read over your characters and make sure I've got a reasonable idea how everyone works in order to avoid killing the pace. Also make sure you all have 'Bot me' entries in your character sheets to outline general tactics in the event you need to be botted.

![]() |

I've added instructions on Chak's profile for using the Google spreadsheet to bot Chak's attacks if needed.

![]() |

A tiny woman with a lithe form and delicate butterfly wings, surrounded by sparkling lights and gentle rainbow arcs flits into the room ahead of a mysterious humanoid with pale blue skin, solid white eyes, and hair so black as to appear almost purple.
Greetings, Pathfinders!
I'm getting Exi's and Starlight's statblocks all updated on their profiles. Starlight's shenanigans include: truespeech, constant detect magic, constant detect evil, constant freedom of movement, a bunch of resistances/immunities, can cure exhaustion/fatigue, and can commune with the Black Butterfly for 6 questions once per week.

![]() |

A few steps behind the tiny butterfly woman is a blue-skinned, solid-white-eyed humanoid in black robes wearing a half-mad grin.
Exi Tiflo Nonx Vesprosh Gabveon is a Samsaran Shaman of the Dark Tapestry. The Alien Summons hex gives creatures he summons the advanced template. He uses the Spirit Talker feat for the Arcane Enlightenment hex to get 3 wizard spells added to his list each day (Emergency Force Sphere and Haste are usuals, but not always). Wandering Spirit is currently set to Bones but that'll probably change since there's a Necromancer wizard in the party. He and Starlight each have dull grey noun stones with Heightened Continual Flames (spell level 6) and can make them for anyone in the party. I'll get stat blocks of his usual monsters, including templates and buffs, ready in case of botting needs.

Holly purchases the following prior to starting.
Circlet of Persuasion 4,500 gp
Scroll of Breath of Life 1,125 gp
Potion of Fly 750 gp
Potion of Fly 750 gp
Potion of Fly 750 gp
Potion of Invisibility 300 gp
Spring Loaded Wrist Sheath 5 gp
Spring Loaded Wrist Sheath 5 gp
Wand of Cure Moderate Wounds 4,500 gp

![]() |

I have about 4300 gp available.
If there is any spell you think would be useful to have on a scroll, let me know. (If you look at my character sheet, the spells section list my current roster of scrolls.)
I can cast up to level 4 cleric scrolls and up to level 6 wizard scrolls currently.
I looked at level 5 spells and I think either break enchantment or life bubble could be useful.

![]() |

Chak is buying...
A scroll of break enchantment (1,125 gp)
A scroll of restoration (800 gp)
A scroll of heroism (375 gp)
A scroll with 2 copies of fly (2 prestige)
As soon as we finish with our briefing, Chak will charge is ioun stone with a scroll of shield and his spell-storing armor with a scroll of frigid touch.

![]() |

Yami will purchase the following:
Wand of Infernal Healing (750 gp)
2 Potions of Endure Elements
1 scroll of Shadow Enchantment + Scribing (465 GP, default check)
Onyx gem worth 550 GP

@GM no creatures I know of are immune to the dazed condition. Undead are immune to stunned and mind-affecting, but RAW the ankylosaurus daze effect is neither.
Stun (Ex) The ankylosaurus's tail can deliver a powerful, stunning blow. A creature struck by this attack must make a DC 23 save or be dazed for 1 round. If the strike is a critical hit and the target fails its save, it is instead stunned for 1d4 rounds. The save DC is Strength-based.
I know the ability is called "Stun" and has "stunning blow" in the flavor text, which is misleading because the description in the mechanics is that it causes the dazed condition. Funny enough, it does inflict stunned (rather than dazed) on a critical hit.
(italics mine for emphasis)

![]() |

Ah yeah, the monster ability doesn't actually say what kind of save (which is frustrating). I thought Will, since dazing metamagic defaults to Will if no other save is required.

![]() |

Ah yeah, it is omitted in the Bestiary entry for some reason, but it's included in the ranger animal companion version. I actually didn't realize you specified Will. I was checking the stat block since I was taken off-guard by the abnormally large save DC and did a quick check over everything. All checked out, but yeah... Fort save for that one.

Slowly sticks toe in water... waits for something to bite it.

![]() |

Heads up. If you played version B with this character, the last boon may help in this scenario. Just saying..

Hey all, I wanted to remind you that I can make you an item with Heightened Continual Flame (beats Deeper Darkness). It's 50gp for the continual flame. I can put it on whatever you want but it's common to put it on a dull grey ioun stone, which is 25gp. If you do get one, note on this chronicle that it's heightened to 5th level and my PFS# is 103843-24. I’m assuming if we’re traveling for several weeks we’ll be able to find the materials at some point (GM correct me if that’s not the case).

![]() |

Chak would gladly get one (even if we need to wait until after the adventure).

![]() |

Holly has the following boon. Prosperity: Thanks to an excellent contract, a newly discovered trade secret, or just the luck of being in the right profession at the right time, your business is booming. You gain a +1 bonus on all Day Job checks. In addition, a DC 45 Day Job check now earns you 200 gp, and a DC 50 Day Job check earns you 300 gp.
Day Job: Perform (dance): 1d20 + 30 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 30 + 1 = 48
Holly is on Slow Track.

![]() |

day job: profession sailor+Entrepreneur (JFC 6): 1d20 + 20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 20 + 5 = 43
And instead of earning the extra gold, I will invest it into my JFC Season 7 Card.
Fandral is slow track for this adventure.
I will also be checking off a box for my season 7 card, the one for speaking more than 7 languages. Thanks to my new headband he speaks 15.

![]() |

GM..I just realized that this is my fifth investment into the season 7 faction card and I am going to cash out. So if you can add in an extra 1150gp some how on the chronicle.

![]() |

Normal track, take 10 on the day job roll for a 20.

![]() |

slow track, day job (caravan; diplomacy): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33

![]() |

Laara, which way would you want me to move you? Closer to the battle or further away from it?

![]() |

Right there is fine Chak. Laara’s probably taking to the air and getting some distance next round.
And breaking time itself to save me: I thought I was a goner Yami. Thank you!

![]() |

I think this adventure cost Chak almost as much as he is going to earn.

![]() |

OK, thanks.
But yeah, I can boost the token. (Is there a roll involved in that?)
