Standing around here trying to get information on what may or may not have happened or who this person might have associated with in the past, perhaps even Aroden himself, is getting us no where we should get going and perhaps we can exact vengeance upon those who did this. remarks the cleric.

Krstani agrees with Caelhal. "Let's go do what needs to be done. These corpses are already old enough that another day of waiting won't matter."

Then into the crypt you shall go...

The wooden doors are unlocked, but very heavy. After a few attempts you are able to haul them open.

As the heavy doors swing open, the faint light from outside reveals a long chamber with risen platforms on either side, a faded painting of Kassen on the far wall.

The room appears to be the site of a gruesome battle, with two bodies piled in the center and a number of skeletons scattered around. An echoing wail can be heard somewhere in the distance, beyond this foul chamber.

As you enter, several of the skeletons begin to stir, clutching at the remnants of their weapons as their empty eyes focus on the intruders.

Ilyaleh grimaced as soon as it became obvious just how many foes had converged upon Miklos. This was, um. Definitely not good. She considered the situation - it looked as though Aviram or Erhun were the closest to him and well. She wasn't exactly a formidable foe herself.

Ilyayeh grasped for the feel of fortune around her, of luck and misfortune, and her sense of all of the things that made the world work. Once she had the thread in hand, she stepped forward and passed it along to Aviram who stood several paces before her so that he'd have a bit of extra luck.

The target can call upon this good luck once per round, allowing him to reroll any ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, taking the better result. Apologies! 4th of July shenanigans have started early for us. @_@

Oh, dear, we really should've gone over healing spells this morning, Ilyaleh thought, frowning at their situation. She wasn't really prepared for this. "Drat, Caelhal, can you drop the wand? I'm not good in close quarters - I don't want to set you all aflame! Let me use the wand on Miklos."

It perhaps wasn't the best solution, but it was the only thing she could think of, considering her only weapon was her quarterstaff. Still, perhaps Ara could help them...? Looking down at Miklos, she grimaced. Maybe it was better to just work on getting him up first.

I don't think I can help as much in combat, but she ought to be able to help with Miklos, if that's okay? @_@ If Caelhal agrees, drops the wand on Miklos, and steps out of that space, she'll move attempt a full-round action to drag Miklos backwards and will heal him until he wakes up. I believe drag isn't limited for allies, so she'd pull him out by Krstani, if that's... doable?

When the elf had dropped the wand with his mischievous comment, she'd blushed and murmured a quiet, "We'll see," but now that she'd gotten him away from the greater portion of the fight, she's wondering if there might be some truth to it.

Again, she wishes she'd discussed healing spells with Ara in the morning. Once she's got some distance from the others, she kneels and takes up the wand, opening the man's shirt a bit to tap him directly with it as necessary. "Keep watch," she asks her familiar before preparing to use the wand.

Not actually sure what the actions for this would be since she's away from combat. That's a move backwards to drag him away from combat with cover from their allies and then a standard to pick up the wand right? Or would the drag be counted as from last time since she'd moved to snag and pull? (If the movement is from last time, she'd def be tapping him with that wand!) *could be very confused right now*

Crunch!

The last of the skeletons fall to the floor with a final clatter to mingle with the bones of the others, allowing the wailing that has continued throughout the fight to be more clearly heard.

Perception DC 15:
The sound seems to be coming from the east.

Unfortunately not all of the bodies here are so long dead.

Two of the bodies that did not stir during the battle were clearly mauled to death within the last few days.

Knowledge (Local) DC 15:
You recognize them as a couple of friends of the Mayor, Gerol and Vark

The remnants of what look like camping, or possibly adventuring gear sit in a pair of backpacks pushed to the side of the room. One pack contains a quiver of blunt arrows, the other a couple of days left of trail rations and water and a pair of smokesticks.

What do you do?

Aviram's keen recollection matches Caelhal's senses.

"I recognize them from Kassen. They're a couple of friends of the Mayor, Gerol and Vark. Whatever mischief was in store for us has clearly gone wrong..."

Before investigating the wailing, Aviram gives his brand new wand a whirl.

Ilyaleh, would you be so kind as to use my wand on me please? And whoever dragged me out when i was unconcious, thank you. I have to reign in my bravado....it is a Therinor family trait...acting first, thinking second. He say as he retrieves his falcata and hooks his mace back to his belt. Ilyaleh returns Caelhal's wand to him and then takes Miklos to do as he asks, granting him a bit more life. These things are... surprisingly useful. She'd thought she wouldn't need one since she could typically prepare the spell, but days like today were a blatant sign that she couldn't. She'd have to pick one up when she got the chance. "You're very welcome," Ilyaleh says, and then gestures to the elf. "But it was his wand that brought you out of danger. I thought we were going to lose you for a bit there."

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20
After a moment, she winces in agreement with Caelhal. "That wailing is incessant!"

At Aviram's words, however, she goes still. "Do you think they engineered this whole thing? That would certainly explain what we heard on our way out - and why these arrows are blunt." She frowns, stroking Ara's fur as he climbs up to her shoulders.

"Should we bring them back to town or perform rites for them here?"

I think we can wait and take them back with us when we are done. And as for those arrows, those are usually meant for dealing with certain undead....my uncle told me about it one day....he has some training with dealing with the undead.
