Youall also get a bonus if you choose a path that matches your campaign trait.
Arianna:
Chance Encounter (Trickster): The PC gains a +2
trait bonus on Reflex saves. By expending one use of
mythic power, the PC can take 20 on an Acrobatics, Bluff,
Disguise, Sleight of Hand, or Stealth check without an
increase in the time required to make the check.
Balthazar:
Child of the Crusades (Marshal): The PC gains a +2
trait bonus on Will saves. Whenever he successfully
saves against a mind-affecting effect from a demon,
as an immediate action the PC can expend one use of
mythic power to cause the demon to become staggered
for a number of rounds equal to the PC's mythic tier.
The demon can reduce this effect to i round by making
a successful Will save (DC = 10 + the PCs' mythic tier +
the PC's Charisma modifier).

Balthasar Heimren |

Oooh. That's nifty.
And I might actually have the Charisma to make it a higher saving throw.

Bitey Nice Nice |

Glad you guys made your level and finished the first book. I am going to post a Bitey farewell post to give him a poignant sendoff and might check back if life gets a little less hectic, maybe you will be able to find it in your hearts to take the little rascal back.

Balthasar Heimren |

Oops, forgot my bonus HP for Marshal. Thanks, Thrall!

Serena, the Hyperborean |

Serena: Sorcerer 6
Total HP: 46
FCB: +2nd Level Spell Known (I have no idea why I didn't grab Burst of Radiance earlier - it fits her so well)
Mythic Path: Archamge (Surprising nobody - matches her campaign trait)
Archmage Arcana: Wild Arcana (I'm assuming we're using the pending errata, so this would be a standard action with a smaller spell list, not the bonkers broken thing it is now)
Path Ability: Eldritch Breach (As pretty much the main caster, Serena is really good at penetrating spell resistance)
Mythic Feat: Mythic Persistent Spell (...And at this point, I feel like I've invested all I really need to into making darn sure I can pierce the defenses of the demonic foes I expect we'll be fighting. XD)

Balthasar Heimren |

I don't know why you wouldn't have, either. It's a holy flash bang!
Also, RE: Wild Arcana: What do you mean smaller spell list? I thought it still let you pick any spell of your spell list, it just changed the action to a Standard Action.

GM Choon |

Stolen Fury (Champion): The PC gains a +2 trait bonus
on Fortitude saves. By expending one use of mythic
power as a swift action, she can ignore a single demon's
damage reduction for i minute, and increases the critical
multiplier of any weapon she wields against that demon
by I.
Riftwarden Orphan (Archmage): The PC gains a +4
trait bonus on caster level checks to penetrate a demon's
spell resistance. Once per day, he can recharge a charged
magic item by expending one use of mythic power. Doing
so adds a number of charges equal to id10 + his mythic
tier to the item, up to its normal maximum number
of charges.

Serena, the Hyperborean |

Wild Arcana's errata put a limit on the casting times for spells you can use with it - to 1 standard action, I think. That cuts out some of the long, powerful ritual-type spells that were formerly available, and that's a good thing. XD As someone using it, I think the original was too strong. ...As someone who's written a published mythic product, I still think the original was too strong, and did something else for casters.

Balthasar Heimren |

Oh, okay. In a face to face Wrath game, I never used it for anything other than standard action spells, so it never occurred to me the errata checked that.
I agree the original was too strong (a swift action to cast any spell?), and thought the move to a Standard Action was much better.

Bitey Nice Nice |

So, I have tried to write a proper Bitey walks off into the sunset post for about a week now. This has not gone well. I think the problem is I don't want to let Bitey go. So, I am just going to bite the bullet and keep the one extra character going.
Path guardian taking absorb blow and Sustenance because thematically appropriate. People just never give him that chicken he is sure he has been promised.

Balthasar Heimren |

Hey, guys. My wife has just gone into the hospital as we prepare to welcome our first child. Posting may be sporadic, and I won’t be able to do anything on the maps for a while.
I should be back to mostly normal in a couple weeks.
Bitey, glad you’re still with us.

Thrall the Lucky |

Congratulations!
You'll never be back to "normal", you know that, right? :P

Balthasar Heimren |

Yeah, but since I usually post at work, and I’ll be back to work in a couple weeks, my posting will be back to normal.

GM Choon |

Hey guys, just an update from me:
My life has taken more and more of my time recently. I interviewed for a management position recently and the job I already have has become more demanding. This combined with the time my family must necessarily take up has left me with precious little time for the games I GM.
Just wanted to give youall a reason for the slowdown. It's not intentional, but it has been unavoidable as of late. I'm sorry.
This is the end of book one, by the way. Congrats. You've gone further than many!

Balthasar Heimren |

Wooo! We completed the first book of an AP on a play-by-post! This is the...second time I've been part of a group that did this!
It's very exciting.

Choon the Expendable |

Ok, it's time.
My family has recently been beset by several medical issues that are taking up a lot of the time I used to use for GMing. My wife's spine is causing her debilitating pain and my colon is planning a revolt that must be squashed before it causes real trouble. This has left me with no time at home were I traditionally the time I need to run this game.
I'm sorry, but I need to end this experience. I congratulate you on your achievement of making it through book 1. Not many make it even that far. If you wish to proceed with a new GM, that is perfectly fine and I encourage you to do so. You're a good group. It's I that has failed you.
I'm so sorry. But I just can't run this one anymore.

Balthasar Heimren |

Understood, GM. Real life and health issues have to come first. I hope you and your wife are both able to fully recover from you health problems, and I wish you the best.
For everyone else, do we wish to try and find another GM?

Thrall the Lucky |

Good luck in life, Choon mate, and may your issues have satisfactory resolution.
Of course, Thrall is more than willing to keep kicking assess.

Balthasar Heimren |

Okay. I'm going to give Serena a chance to weigh in, and then we'll see about finding ourselves a new GM.

Balthasar Heimren |

Alright, then. I'll post over in Recruitment to see if we can find ourselves a GM.

Balthasar Heimren |

Good news! Someone has expressed an interest in taking over.
The thread is here. ToxicStar is going to read over the Gameplay thread and give us the opportunity to ask any relevant questions about their experience and style, and then we can decide if we think they are a good fit.
