I just accepted 9 people into my game.
NINE
What in the Abyss was I thinking...
Anyway. WELCOME EVERYONE! This should be fun. Just so you know, I'll be dialing the monsters up to 11 to compensate for the crazy damage this party can dish out. We will finish this thing. We will. Now, lets get to talking!

Serena, the Hyperborean |

Reporting! ...With this many people, I highly recommend advancing the game every 2 days or so, regardless of how many people have posted. XD
Oh, and I think we were rolling for money? Serena doesn't really need to buy anything right now, so...
2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 x 10 = 80 GP.

Greetings fellow crusaders. Vance has lived in Kenebres for years. So may be acquainted with others who live in town.

Serena, the Hyperborean |

Let's see... ooh, this is a very stabby party, isn't it? XD Aria, you're going Guardian? All right, I'm probably not related to anyone, then...

Iolaire |

Hey Ariana - lets hope this one goes better than last time right? :)
Anyone else going for Heirophant?

Aria Dros |

Checking in. I think the campaign trait I went with champion, but I'm open to anything. I've never played mythic but have always been very interested. This game should be a lot of fun. I'll read everyone's background and see if I can see any matches. Aria grew up on the outskirts of kenebres as a huntress and bow maker.

Serena, the Hyperborean |

Exposed to Awfulness is the Guardian trait. Stolen Fury is the Champion trait. (Of course, there's always Dual Pathing, which isn't a bad idea for some builds. ^^)
Incidentally, I'm quite familiar with the Mythic rules, so I'd be happy to help answer questions if you have any.

Iolaire |

Magus for example should definitely consider Dual Path Archmage/Champion (or Guardian). There's lots of nice stuff in both paths for them!

Serena, the Hyperborean |

My only comment on that is that the Archmage and Hierophant "use any spell" abilities get MUUUUUUUCH more balanced if you use the errata that turns them into Standard Actions. XD

Iolaire |

There's lots of good stuff on the forum about it. The link that was posted in the recruitment thread has some good ideas too. :)

Aria Dros |

Exposed to Awfulness is the Guardian trait. Stolen Fury is the Champion trait.
I may need to change the trait then. Guardian seems more melee focused where Aria is ranged focused. Unless you think guardian works with a ranged focus.

Serena, the Hyperborean |

Broadly speaking, the paths are:
Champion: Damaging Foes
Guardian: Tanking
Trickster: Stealth and Trickery
Archmage: Arcane Magic
Hierophant: Divine Magic
Marshal: Leadership and Support
There's some variation and crossover between the paths, of course, plus universal powers that can be pretty good regardless of build. You're right that Guardian is a bit melee-focused, though, because that's where tanks tend to be. XD For your build, Aria, the Champion, Trickster, and Archmage lines are probably the most helpful choices.
---
And hooray for Mythic Mania. XD Serena's likely to pick up the Mythic Spontaneous Casting ability, and maybe some other stuff to support Metamagic. (This party has a LOT of damage power, so I'm looking into Piercing Spell, and maybe some other stuff that'll help her abilities land before the rest of the party rips foes apart. XD Sacred Geometry might be funny, though that's not mythic... and between Riftwarden Orphan and Spell Penetration, she's pretty solid on that anyway... ah, well, I'll figure it out.)

Thrall the Lucky |

I've decided I like the Mythic Mania options.
Interesting. There seems to be no Warpriest Mythic options.

Huh. That's weird. We may need to come up with our own. Maybe they thought warpriests were OP. :P

Serena, the Hyperborean |

Yeah, I don't think the series got to the Advanced Class Guide in general... not for class abilities, at any rate. Of course, some of that's easy enough to adapt from other class abilities, so it probably wouldn't be too hard. ^^

Thrall the Lucky |

Also no Investigator, no Arcanist... it seems the Hybrids are not included.
Let's have a look at the possible Warpriest features:
-Blessings, they could be adressed as Domains or Inquisitions, so all fine.
-Sacred Weapon, the part where you add bonus to the weapon could be treated as a paladin's Divine Bond. Being an Arsenal Chaplain, I don't get to modify the weapon's damage, so no worries here - in case there was another Warpriest, I guess adding Mythic tier to effective Wp level should be ok.
-Fervor, is the one that would need most work, since casting spells as swift actions has nothing to compera with.
-Bonus Feats, might be treated as a fighter's bonus feats.
-Weapon Training, an archetype specific, should be similar to Weapon Training on the fighter's.
And there's also Sacred Armor and Channeling, both of which I don't get to use due to my archetype. Again, if there was another Wp, I guess it's fairly simple - use the cleric's Channeling and Sacred Armor is too similar to Sacred Weapon, yes?
So it is only a matter of what to do with Fervor. Maybe adding Mythic Tier to uses per day?

Serena, the Hyperborean |

Mm. You could adapt most of the Cleric list to the Warpriest pretty easily, though. XD Orisons, Blessing Selection, Languages, Aura... hybrids are convenient like that.

Iolaire |

Mythic was written before the ACG and because of the general reception of mythic they've never updated its rules to include stuff since then. You can't play a psychic caster under mythic rules either, but its relatively straight forward to play them as archmages most of the time.
As to the mythic mania rules... we can probably homebrew them - there's enough of us to work on it!

Bitey Nice Nice |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Bitey greedily gobbles up the piece of jerky. It barely touches the goblins teeth before he swallows it whole. Licking his lips he turns back to Zoranda. "No no no, Bitey not goblin. Longshanks pointy ear smell like fur mistaken see. Bitey is lizard dog horse thing. Long thanks like dog and horse, Bitey all the things long shanks like." Bitey looks over his shoulder both ways, turning completely around on the second peek and leans in close. He whispers conspiratorily, though loud enough everyone and their mother can hear his squealy voice. "I not know how you see through clever disguise. I blending in cause long shanks don't like goblins." The goblin puts his finger to his lips and winks at the kitsune. Suddenly his belly grumbles and Bitey gets a concerted look on his face. "Got any more food?"

Iolaire |

So...
Archmage
Serena
Champion
Aria
Thrall
Guardian
Bitey
Heirophant
Iolaire
Marshal
Vance
Trickster
Ariana
Zoranda
That right so far?

Thrall the Lucky |

Thrall is fairly new to Kenabres, and will probably be Dual Path Champion/Hierophant.

Zoranda |

Comparing the little critter to the many children of the 'Orphaned Crusaders', Zoranda crouches down as she pulls her last piece of jerky on her. "I can see, because I have a clever disguise, too."
Tossing the jerky over his head, Zoranda shifts into her human form as his eyes follow the meat. "I won't tell anyone, though. You can be my pet nil-dog. No one will bother you. Well, except the occasional client or two."

Serena, the Hyperborean |

So, I know Aria's planning on ranged attacks, and Serena here is definitely letting others run up first... Zoranda looks ranged... given how many of us there are, perhaps it would make sense to split into some kind of groups tactics-wise, so we don't all have to pay too much attention to everyone?

Iolaire |

Io uses a glaive, so reach-based close combat. She's also party medic, so being just off the front-line is probably good.

Serena, the Hyperborean |

Given the number of people we have, we'll definitely want to be careful about healing. o wo Reaaaaaal easy to burn through all of that, especially at the early levels.

Balthasar Heimren |

Sorry for the delay in posting! I was traveling for the New Year’s weekend.
Balthasar is a Child of the Crusades, going the Marshal path. That probably means Vance and I should know each other. Balthasar is born and bred Kensbrian, and comes from a Crusader family.
Hi Iolaire and Arianna! It’s Kendren’s player.
EDIT: GM, I don’t think I saw if you decided on whether or not you were allowing Leadership.

Serena, the Hyperborean |

As a note, if enemies ARE being ramped up to challenge an overly-large group of mythic people, normal followers are probably going to melt if they get brought to combat. o wo Personally, I recommend considering options like a healer or crafter.
