Also known in the gambling scene as "SNAKE EYESSSS."
But, also, the GM thread for this is ramping up nicely with developer and writer comments about all the things cut from the scenario. Should make for a nicer, more coherent experience.

As a side note; my place of work finally blocked Paizo after more than year of me working there. It might not be permanantly blocked, as I think I've seen this before, but this might also just be the first stage of grief. Not sure.
Regardless, that just means during-the-day posts will be more jilted than normal, but will cancel nothing.

Ha, oops; I forgot it was Varisian Sorcerers that give up Eskew Comps; not Wild blooded. Replace all instances of "components pouch" with "blade" to continuity. If were in the edit window, I'll fix mine.
Actually, she's asking for one of those random pouches he has; she doesn't know how spells work beyond what the elders and city have 'taught' her, do ho ho.

@Shin: Is Shin actually from this city? I didn't see any backstory stuff in your profile. Because despite a diplomacy check of 1 and having a -5 to all Cha checks for casting [cold] spells, that won't mean that, like, your family avoids you (if you are from here.) This area is too far east to be very good for Crown of the World travel, so I kind of guessed otherwise, but I can (and often am) wrong.

I never picked a city. You guessed correctly in that Shin is intended to be from mixed heritage from travel over the Crown. But I did not pick a specific area, just from within the Realm.

Given your cold affinity and heritage, Icestair sounds perfect.
Icestair: The largest permanent settlement in the realm, Icestair exists at the base of a glacial wall that links to the Crown of the World. The wall is marked here by a wide set of human-sized steps, carved into the ice and overlaid with heavy blocks of volcanic stone, that wind up the face of the sheer ice sheet. Great winches are mounted at the glacier’s edge above, and are used to lower wagons and sledges that survived the perilous crossing from the Successor States. Icestair is run by Po La the Bureaucrat. Po La claims to have been a civil officer in the service of the Fire Empress Zai Ming until he ran afoul of that ruler’s daughter and was forced to f lee for his life. Whether or not this tale is true, he and his assistants arrange for well-armed guides to aid merchants in traveling through the hostile regions that surround the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, and also oversee the upkeep of the Icestair, carving new steps when the old ones erode, and replacing those winches that collapse. In the perennial cold of the region, strengthened by the cryomantic enchantments of the Witch Queen, such collapses are not as common as they might otherwise be. The recent loss of Sarkoris to the Worldwound has significantly hindered the once-lucrative trade route through Icestair, for now there is no reliable or safe route to civilization. Po La constantly works to secure arrangements with the orcs to the south for safe passage, often allowing them to hunt megafauna in return.

That is indeed the case. I just simply HATE the existence of "Monstrous Humanoid" and "Humanoid (Weird-ass creature-like thing that happens to have 2 legs.)" Where is that line drawn, really? I mean, there's so many weird humanoids that they should just really ALL be humanoids. One Type, One Love.

Oh noooooo. I forgot to use his piddly DC 14 Quickened Unnatural Lust to try to make Erin make out with aplabetically: 1d3 ⇒ 3 Shin.
It's funnier when you're a dumb animal with a butts Will save, admittedly.

He originally would have done it because she'd have the llama ladyparts to make Fiendish Llama Demon babies in the future. This time it's just because she did 100+ damage in one round.
But as for the scaledown for 7-8...
The kithangian commands the fiendish animals to charge the PCs—an act that likely triggers one or more of the hazards. It then uses its mobility to engage one or more PCs in melee, changing into its true form during its turn. It uses its melee attacks and spell-like abilities to sow confusion and slay its foes, though it endeavors to keep one animal companion or mount alive. It does not hesitate to step on a geyser, trusting its resistances to absorb the punishment.
Make the following changes to the encounter to accommodate a party of only four PCs:
Subtier 7–8: Remove the fiendish aurochs from the encounter.
Well, golly. When you build the entire set of tactics around making the herd suicide charge over the landmines, then get rid of them, you kind of don't have tactics anymore.

I mean, the high-tier one makes more sense. This module actually has a lot more sensical stuff in the higher tier (though editing still ravaged the heck outta this thing as a whole. The writer is throwing notes into the DM thread, though, so it's all okay now.)
