Shinkeer flies back and hurls another snowball.

All whip and tumor attacks have a DC 20 fort attached to damage.
Whip 1: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 221d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Whip 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 141d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Whip 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 101d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 If one of those 3s were a 4...

Everyone is back up! (Marduk, Ashur, Erin, Shin, ordering, only listed for my easy copy-paste use!)!

Last Piercing Charge: 1d20 + 5 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 10 = 25
Fire!: 10d6 + 24 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 1, 5, 3, 3, 6, 6, 4) + 24 = 61
Marduk curses and hurls another angry ball of fire.

GM Burglar |

Minipost! I kepy forgetting the 5% hail chance. 1d100 ⇒ 881d100 ⇒ 101d100 ⇒ 681d100 ⇒ 85 Good, it didn't matter.
... a husk of what was the ball falls to the ground while half the party keeps vomiting!
COMBAT OVER!
You're now in a very stinky and burned (which both at the same time is EXTRA unpleasant.

![]() |

Hurray!
With the demon slain, Marduk begins the gruesome task of scooping up some portion of its remains as proof of its death. ”Let’s find someplace to wait out the hail”, the hulking orc suggests.

GM Burglar |

1d100 ⇒ 261d100 ⇒ 1001d100 ⇒ 171d100 ⇒ 47
1d100 ⇒ 361d100 ⇒ 721d100 ⇒ 21d100 ⇒ 53
1d100 ⇒ 801d100 ⇒ 471d100 ⇒ 451d100 ⇒ 4
The hail continues for another half-a-minute, though all 8 of the buildings are full of somewhat-recently-killed dead kellids! The hail, after bonking Marduk and Shin once with frozen eyes, departs just as quickly as it came. Truly, the Worldwound is a meteorological nightmare, as the eyes stop but a rain of tears begin and washes over the many, many dead. Their bodies devoid of hair, nail or tooth and covered in burst pustule wounds lie in big piles.

![]() |

Marduk grimaces at the sight of the diseased dead. "We should return. Soon. There's nothing here but death."

![]() |

Shin nods, checking his wounds. Yes, let us finish here and head back.

![]() |

Since we're trapped here waiting out the hail, Marduk will poke around.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Who is hurt? Marduk picked up a fresh wand of Infernal Healing if you need some love.

![]() |

Shin took 8 damage, but has a wand of IH as well.
Shin taps himself with his wand and begins helping Marduk search the area.
Perception: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (10) + 19 = 29

GM Burglar |

Disease forts for Marduk, Shin: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 231d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Marduk finds the bodies to be quite goopy on the inside (like a Stretch Armstrong), though he finds nothing of worth.
Shin, however, finds a small collection of valuables!
- two dozen beautifully cut pieces
of amber- a beaten silver tablet inscribed in Skald with an
extensive family tree- a platinum locket (the portrait within
has long since decayed)- a shield that features
a tusked mammoth*- a set of massive boots are made from mastodon hide. The boots are so large and cumbersome that their wearer takes a –2 penalty on Stealth checks*
- a stone of good luck carved from
magically hardened soapstoneThe asterisk'd ones are magical. Also, the demon himself had a magical scorpion whip.
The journey back to the Red Winter encampments is uneventful and disease-free, despite all odds. Upon return, Thanock has had much of the remaining auroch into a meal prepared for the Brute Squad. It is very well-prepared, as Thanock informs Shin personally that he used his remaining Tien spice from storage, as he wishes to ensure you are aware he is wishes to pledge his direct aid to the Brute Squad, Pathfinder Society, or whatever it is your group is. You should probably clarify this at some point to him.
He instructs Dorok to show you to the remaining possible site for the Pathfinder forward base, but also tells him to prevent insulting their new allies by searching for you. Simply focusing on a T10 the Survival task, the information is finally compiled of all the sites. The decision is now up to the party, as to where Zey will be assigning agents to be dispatched from in the future.
The Giant’s Camp:Although nowhere near as high as the Tusk Mountains’ snowcapped peaks, the location provides a commanding view. The Thunder Steppes and Sarkorian Steppe are both visible to the east. To the west, a canyon of red rock forms an ugly scar across the grays, browns, and greens of the mountains.15+ The cave network is dry, sheltered, and spacious, but provides little else. The space can easily accommodate a few dozen Pathfinder agents, a handful of large animals, and the supplies necessary to support them.
20+ The cave network sees frequent use as a campsite by others, evidenced by the remains of fires and litter. Some of the tracks left in the dust, though old, are large enough to belong to humanoids that could be at least 15 feet tall. With a successful DC 19 Knowledge (local)
check, a PC surmises that the footprints probably belong to frost giants. The Natural Spring:Nestled among the foothills along the base of the Tusk Mountains, a large steaming pool of bubbling water warms the nearby area, providing a welcome break from the chill winds that blow across the Thunder Steppes.15+ Though hot, the spring water is safe and drinkable. It’s likely heated in the same manner as the springs surrounding Tolguth.
20+ The surrounding terrain provides little shelter from the elements and even less in the way of defense.
The Abandoned Border Town:Twelve dilapidated, wooden buildings huddle around what once was a crossroad. The structures creak in protest as the wind howls through their empty window frames.PC who makes a successful DC 15 Knowledge (history) check... never mind.
15+ The town has a well that—with a little maintenance—could provide water. The buildings, though old, would be strong and sturdy enough to withstand the elements with minor repairs.
20+ There’s no evidence pointing to why the town was abandoned. Ancient tables remain set as if for dinner, the cupboards still house the threadbare remains of clothing, and there are no signs of looting or animal habitation.

![]() |

Same. Mysteriously abandoned villages are the best places to build base camps.

GM Burglar |

Erin asks if they should get more info on why the town was abandoned, but that's not the Brute Squad way! Someone shatters the clay disc at the structure. Within a few minutes, Aram Zey teleports there personally, dressed in his standard attire. He is visibly cold in moments, taking it far worse than he would the sweltering humidity of the Mwangi in the same situation. "The only tropical region in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, and you manage to pick a place that's still cold. Great." He glances at the structure from the outside, "At least it has a roof. It'll do."
He teleports (anyone who wants it) back to the meeting room where Farabellus waits, with lots of drawings labeled "Weapon in the Void." He speaks with the same excitement as before, without asking for any details of success, "Great job, Pathfinders! Now, the next step..."
Both prestige Earned by sucessfully diplomoacizing with the the Red Winter and making them true allies! More "Accumulating an Army" boons! Hooray! Chronicles are now in-processing.
Edit: Oh, yeah; Day Jobs!

![]() |

Marduk's day job doesn't actually get him paid.

![]() |

Got it. Thanks!

GM Burglar |

No idea, though I'll leave this open for discussion. This was the most recent high tier to come out, sadly, so I can't just recommend "whatever's newest." My list should be somewhat up to date, though no guarantees.
The only thing I DO know is that my current posting situation is 100% butts, so I'd prefer to not continue being in a "running 2 games at once" deal.

I could run something.
I think there's some old stuff Burglar still needs to play.

![]() |

I believe Feast of Sigils is one that Red still needs.
What about the rest of you guys?

![]() |

Is that criminal-ursine for I'm in?

GM Burglar |

Why can I only think of Yogi Bear now? But, yeah, I can play that. Just gotta get her through Tektite's Drowning Stones last fight.
EDIT: 1 minute later, and I just now figured out what you were getting at. I still want to make a Yogi Bear skinwalker, though. So going to happen in my S&S game.

![]() |

We're done, I just need to write the summary and hand out chronicles, which I'll do this evening. Too bad Ezrek is still tied up in Fabric of Reality, he's sort of my Season 4 guy. Though the irony is that he finished Waking Time before doing any of the lead ins, so it really doesn't matter.

![]() |

That's anticlimactic. =(
How long do you think Ezrek is going to be?
What about Sethious?

GM Burglar |

At least 85% (probably more) of Sethious' PFS career was "running the group with my cavalier." He's played so little, but I was surprised to hear he ran something at a con I haven't played yet. I would bet that he's not played this, especially since he's asked me what the boon was that Marduk had.

![]() |

How long do you think Ezrek is going to be?
Probably a while still. We are only on the second encounter and this group has some slow posters. Shin will have to be the one I bring.

![]() |

Sounds like a plan.
I’ll get the thread up sometime after work. We’ll start as soon as our ursine felon is ready.

GM Burglar |

That will likely be a double-delay of "I'm going to go to sleep within the next hour (maybe hour-and-a-half)" in copulation with the fact that Tektite's got to describe our grand victory.
Sending a PM to Marduk about something in the upcoming scenario, btw. It's... weird, and opposite of why someone would send such a PM, but... yeah. Just wanted to put a heads-up here.
