GM Burglar |

Heading to local Jade Regent game tonight, so unless Erin forefits her laptop to me, this'll likely be the last post of the day. Also, I pointed out he was amorphous, like, twice. :S

A kindly reader from the internet sent me a message, reminding me of my unintentional GM Code; "At least once a combat, I will mess up a minimum of one thing." This fight's mess-up was officially "This dog has two heads and two bite attacks, not one." Oops. Oh well, all the more benefit to you guys! Wave hi to the internet, guys!
Bite 1 on Erin: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (6) + 22 = 281d6 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22
Bite 2 on Kulik: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (20) + 22 = 421d6 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
Claw on Ashur: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (12) + 22 = 341d4 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
Claw on Marduk: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (2) + 22 = 241d4 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18
Tail on Ashur (Immune to Trip): 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (8) + 22 = 301d6 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
Confirming the Threat Bite on Kulik: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (12) + 22 = 341d6 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20

Marduk, Kulik, Ashur, then Erin! No need for a new map!

![]() |

Marduk continues reclining and empowers Ashur one more time.
"Are you going to make me kill this myself?"
No longer fatigued. Touch of Rage 3/6.

![]() |

"It might come to that. I'm not sure I'm walking away from this fight." Ashur says, feeling a bit groggy while fighting his uphill battle. Please I would very much like a heal since I'm at 2 hp, Kulik.
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (9) + 21 = 30
1d4 + 23 ⇒ (3) + 23 = 26
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (12) + 21 = 33
1d4 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 25
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 36
1d4 + 23 ⇒ (3) + 23 = 26
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (6) + 21 = 27
1d8 + 23 ⇒ (6) + 23 = 29

![]() |

Please I would very much like a heal since I'm at 2 hp, Kulik.
Erin is down.
Stabalize 1d20+2-8
Ahem.

![]() |

Ashur roars in anger as Erin falls. His otherworldly eyes furrow as desperation kicks in even harder than before. "You'll pay for that." He growls despite being unsure if the creature can even understand him.
Yes, I'm aware of that and I feel like a jerk now... Heal Erin first.

![]() |

As it's only medium, it probably doesn't have reach.

![]() |

If it doesn't, KULIK will five foot behind Ashur, retrieve scroll of cure critical wounds, and cast stabilize on Erin.
If it does...I do have one more trick I can use, but it means leaving Erin down by its side this round. :-(

![]() |

Stabilize should be enough. If we don't drop it this turn we're screwed anyway.

![]() |

Well, KULIK can't use the scroll on Erin cos he can't five-foot to reach her and CCW is a touch spell. Stabilize is close range, and at least keeps Erin alive.

GM Burglar |

Marduk needs to concentrate on that Spell-like ability!
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 I'm not even sure (at a glance) if your given Morale bonus stacks with Ashur's regular rage since they're both Morale bonuses. Because your bonuses are directly "to hit" instead of "to Strength," I think you're good on that, though.
---
Kulik steps behind the not-Human Cover Shield, Ashur and stabilizes Erin!
---
Ashur, were it not for the power of orcs, would be missing a lot more than he should! At first glance/search, I'm not sure if the two morale bonuses stack for attacking purposes (should I run in the future), but I can't be entirely certain without more research and I like rule in favour of PCs when undecided for the short term.
Health Check: 131 + 16 + 15 + 16 + 19 = 197
He finally hacks enough of the armour apart, pouring worms EVERYWHERE!
Combat End!
@Erin and Kulik: Another bit I forgot; You each got bit, so I need a Fort and a Reflex DC 22 each.

GM Burglar |

No, just when it's the breath weapon. You take damage, you get possibly wormed. Can't evade from bite attacks, except that one time in Temple with 3rd party junk.
Worms try to dig their way into Erin, but she's quick enough to rip them off before they bore in! The bite wound festers, though.
Strength Damage for Erin: 1d4 ⇒ 4

![]() |

Well Rage is a morale bonus to strength which improves my attack rolls as opposed to touch of rage being a morale bonus to attack rolls. It's the same thing if it was heroism. Oh and thank the gods it's finally dead.
Ashur roars in defiance as the creature is torn apart, leaving only fleeing worms. "Heal her! Then heal me! He looks to Kulik while standing himself up. I can't drop from rage until I get healed 23+ hp. But take care of Erin until she's conscious.

![]() |

Well you also rolled above average on it's breath weapon damage which I failed to save against so it's not all giggles and sunshine for luck. Oh and Kulik should just use my wand on Erin until she's up. Save the really expensive scroll for combat.

![]() |

Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Happy stick healing for everyone, and KULIK's wand of infernal healing for Erin since she's unconscious but stable.
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

![]() |

I'll just drop from rage after the first two wand hits to conserve rage since that's just enough to keep me alive. I'll use more of my wand charges and hand my two scrolls of Lesser restoration to Kulik for Erin and myself.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Only took 20 charges of my wand to heal me to full.

![]() |

Five more taps of infernal healing should nearly take care of Erin, then five for KULIK and six for Marduk. Best 2 prestige KULIK ever spent; he got it at a Calistrian temple, so you'll get all kinds of feelings you may or may not understand. :-)

![]() |

Marduk climbs to his feet and gives a nod of thanks as Kulik's wand heals him to full.
"Let's hope there aren't anymore of those."

![]() |

Oh right, you do have that awesome wand of lesser restoration. We should use that then. I'll save my scrolls. But I'll still use my wand for my hp damage.
1d4 ⇒ 4 Best wand ever
"That is the understatement of a lifetime. What was that thing?"

![]() |

False Life: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Marduk wanders over towards the cage suspended in the air.
"Zarta, is that you?"

![]() |

"Nope, otherwise why would you see me here?" Ashur helps Erin back to her feet. "Well, glad you're still with us. I uh... I mean we need you here to help. I think that woman could use your skills."

![]() |

"I wouldn't, it's just that I'm more likely to end up in a place like this than anywhere else."

![]() |

"Well, you've never really asked about me. But I am what I am." Ashur taps one of his horns for effect. "I think it is her, or some other unfortunate bloodied woman."

![]() |

"I am sure there are stranger things in that tavern. Let us get her out of here."
Erin comments with a smirk, then makes her way to the cage.
Intelligence 1d20 ⇒ 11
Disable Device 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
To operate the cage mechanism.

GM Burglar |

Note that the Infernal Healing worked for THREE minutes, and thus healed 30. It has the Evil tag. Also, the -4 to mental checks since none of you are within one step of Asomdeus' alignment, so that's actually a 7 result for Erin's Int. Assuming you're just gonna take your time, though...
DD: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
Erin fiddles with the gibbet's raising and lowering mechanism for about 9 minutes before she successfully lowers the cage. After the cage slowly lowers to the ground, she deftly disables the lock on the door. Inside is a legitimately malnourished Chelish paracountess.
She is at 20/65 and has been wrapping around in nonlethal-to-lethal damage.

![]() |

Marduk lifts the maimed paracountess, groping her roughly as he does so.
"Wake up Zarta. It's time to get you home."

GM Burglar |

Just as the Pathfinder hefts the ambassador abreast, a voice softly speaks up as the black-winged woman teleports into the room. "That's far enough. You won't leave with Duke's property." She raises her bow whose arrows are magically lit aflame! She is 10" up.
Ashur: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Erin: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Kulik: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Marduk: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Bad(s): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Erin, Kulik, Marduk! MAP

![]() |

Note that the Infernal Healing worked for THREE minutes, and thus healed 30. It has the Evil tag.
w00t, one-third the charges for the same effect! She is at 20/65 and has been wrapping around in nonlethal-to-lethal damage.
KULIK would have given her at least a charge of infernal healing too, if possible before combat.
On his initiative, KULIK will pop off a prayer (that doesn't count as a "good" spell, does it?) for everyone.
Deshna guide our way!
+1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks. Baddie gets a –1 penalty on such rolls (subject to SR, of course).

GM Burglar |

SR is just caster level, right?: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 The outsider seems unaffected by your words, but you guys can still feel good about it. I don't see a Good tag on prayer. Also, Zarta is slowly healing up 1 per round, with about a minute in. Most of her nonlethal is from Starvation, though, so she isn't healing that back any time soon.

![]() |

Move to square just south of the creature, Standard to attack.
Attack 1 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 (One Attack)
Damage 1 1d6 + 4 + 3d6 ⇒ (5) + 4 + (3, 4, 5) = 21 (Flat Footed)
Erin lunges forward towards the creature to try to catch it off guard, succeeding only in stumbling towards the wall.

![]() |

Heh, definitely one of those mods where everything is immune to fire...
Marduk chuckles at Erin's comment.
"Don't let her appearance fool you. She enjoys the pain."
***
When the winged devil appears, Marduk lowers Zarta to the ground and takes a up a defensive position in front of her.
"Stand aside witch or be crushed beneath us!"
True Strike.
Edit: Rage is Willing creatures only. =(

![]() |

Erin, I believe she's flying so you can't attack her yet. Not that it matters with that roll...
Ashur shakes his head when he sees the bow as casts a spell on Erin to protect her from it. "This should help you out against that b&&!&."
Resist Energy(Fire)

![]() |

Ah okay. I was thinking that there was 10 feet between her and the ground thus unattackable by melee.

![]() |

Oh, I didn't think she was meleeable. Would it be okay if I change my action Burgler?
Edit: Nevermind. I imagine I'd have to spend an action putting down Zarta anyways.
