Welcome to From Under Ice Recruitment.

I would suggest reading the Campaign Info first before deciding if you want to join. Two critical notes:

1. Daily posting is generally expected with only one post needed on weekends. Now, I understand that things come up and we all will miss a day from time-to-time (including me!), so just let us know before that happens and it shouldn't be a problem.

2. I'm not one for "I swing my sword" <Series of dice rolls> or "I look through the room" <Series of dice rolls>. If you're not willing to put in some modicum of effort in your posts, describe actions with some flavor, and speak in character, you'll probably have very little fun as I call you out for it incessantly.

Selection will be based on a loaded lottery. This means that I will be giving priority to players that have GMed for me or have impressed me to no ends in previous PbPs. Secondary preference will be given to anybody that actually writes up an introduction here as opposed to just, "I have a character, I'd like to play". If there's anybody left over, those will fill the last seats.

Note: This game has a handful of pre-sign ups, so all seats are not available.

Recruitment will likely run through the weekend.

"Oy, I'm looking for a few hard workers; or rather Captain Calisro Benarry is looking for them. I've been told to come here and gather the best, or at least those that look like they can stand the cold. The job's nothing much mind you, just a trip inland, where it's colder and filled with Linnorms. So what say you, anybody available?"

Bambang eyes flicker open as the voice of the half-orc sailor rumbles across the tavern. He rubs the back of his hand across his eyes and quickly sits up. I must have dozed off. The mission to Kaddodi must have taken more out of me than I thought. But this is still unbecoming for the heir of a chieftain.

Bambang gathers himself and stands. With his gleaming but ancient plate mail over his muscular frame, he presents an imposing and almost regale figure. With a discreet glance, he checks that his belongings are still with him, casually laying his hand on the greatsword resting on the table. Spirit of Randika, looks like I would need of your assistance soon again.

He paces over to the half-orc and introduces himself. His deep rich voice rings out. "I am Bambang Kuwatputra, son of Kuwat, heir of the chieftain of the Menguam Singa clan of Tengah Pulu, the Emerald Isle of the Minata Archipelago. The tropical isles might not have prepared me for the cold, but I nonetheless have no qualms over it. Let's hear of this task that Captain Calisro has in store."

Bambang is a level 5 occultist. He recently leveled up from RL games but I haven't updated his profile page yet. Give me till the weekend?

Grand Lodge

A tall blond Ulfen woman wearning no armor stands up and walks over to the sailor, Einn Sparkbearer at your service. I'm good with the cold. Grew up in it as a matter of fact. It's been a while since I've been that way. I'm in between missions at the moment, and a chance to travel near home sounds like an excellent plan."

Einn is level 4 arcane blood sorcerer. Most her XP has come from in person tables so I need to update the alias.

Dark Archive

Interestingly, at 4-5 I am not getting many takers.

I'll leave it up this way for another day or so, but if I don't get much more interest, would you be interested in submitting a 1-2 character?

Grand Lodge

Yes I have several 1-2 that would fit.

Silver Crusade

A large ulfen man stands up and slams a meaty fist on his table, making silverware jump and beer slosh.

"Linnorms? Cold? SKŒDIR IS USED TO BOTH! Let Skœdir show these warm-blooded whelps the way of the North!"

unchained barbarian 1, relic channeler 1. Will update profile tonight.

Silver Crusade

I can bring a witch level 1 or a swashbuckler level 2.

Dark Archive

Updating main recruitment and seeing what I can do!

Probably giving this to the end of the week.

Liberty's Edge

"You don't mind the cold do you? Never been inland, could be interesting..." says Jalak quietly, speaking to the ball of fur in his lap. After a brief pause he quietly affirms "Lets do it."

Rising from his table, the ball of fur plummets form his lap and gracefully lands to unfurl into the shape of a badger. They makes ther way over to to the half-orc and Jalak simply says "Count us in."

Druid 1

This was Bambang. :) Yes I'm still interested but I have quite a few options, including level 3. A gunslinger, a UC monk, a shaman, and an arcanist. Can I wait and see what the party needs most?

The Half-Orc grunts with dissatisfaction, "Are there really that few up for adventure? Come now, somebody must be interested in at least hearing Benaray's offer."

Lenora, newly come to Kalsgard, is in the midst of slipping into the Twinned Peaks when she hears this. Removing the hood of her cloak, she frees her generous length of wavy chestnut hair and grins. It's a pretty smile, though perhaps a bit youthful. Her young age is obvious in the baby fat still on her cheeks and the enthusiasm with which she speaks: "What's this about adventure?" Letting the door shut behind her - no doubt the patrons enjoy the wintry chill no more than she - she steps closer to the Half-Orc to introduce herself. "I am Lenora Glass, come from Taldor. I'm still wet behind the ears, or so my teachers would tell you, but I'm eager to try on an adventure. I've heard much about the Society and am very interested in experiencing one myself."

Considering all that she'd heard from Mattias, both about his adventures and those of the Society's she thought that she was far more likely to find adventures with the Pathfinders' organization than she was with the church of Sarenrae - not that there wasn't plenty of work, mind you, but few of the tasks that needed doing suited her and there was no need for her still lacking skills in any of the clinics or hospitals. She'd been freed of any obligations with their blessing and so she was here, hoping for a bit of adventure and life experience!

Lenora's a newly made level 1 paladin with the hospitaler archetype! I've never tried it before, so I'm pretty excuted. c:

Amhranai sits quietly at her table, watching and listening as others introduce themselves. She sips her tea when it arrives, and places the bowl of water on the ground in front of the chair next to her. The roots of the small tree in that chair quickly find their way into the bowl.

When looked to or asked if she is interested in this mission, she will quietly nod. Met with some rustling of leaves from the treant beside her, which is generally taken as a sign of agreement.

Level 1 Treesinger. I will upload her stats, and make her name/post-stat-block tomorrow.

Liberty's Edge

A smartly dressed hobbit lass stands up. I don't mind the cold, but if the snow is too deep we may have a problem." she laughs. Rose Haddlefoot at your service.

Einn's level 2 swashbuckler at your service.

Dark Archive

The Half-Orc hrumphs, "That's better. Let's see, I shall..." He looks ready to start pointing.

Once I get some real time to post it, selections will be later this afternoon/tomorrow AM.

Silver Crusade

At the Half-Orc's hesitation, Lenora shifts her weight from foot to foot, perhaps a bit antsy at the male's hesitation. After a long moment, she finally huffs out a sigh. "What?" she demands of him. "Who's going? I want an adventure, good sir, and I'm hoping you've got one for me, but by the gods, the dramatic pause is killing me! Tell us already!"

It's perhaps not the best way of addressing the Half-Orc's hesitation, but seeing as Lenora's never really been on an adventure, one can't really blame her... too much, anyways. Her expression is a mix between one of annoyance and eagerness. She wants to go, but the wait is really getting to her - Come on, come on, come on! she thinks. Pick me! Side-eyeing her competition, she can't help but admit there's a good sum of people here. Some might even be better suited for the task at hand.

But! Adventure is all about adapting to the situation and handling it well, right? ...Of course, it wouldn't do to ruin things either. After a moment's consideration, she decided a good mix of things would be good. Preparation mixed with creativity...

And, oh, goodness, wouldn't he pick?! Her thoughts were racing this way and that - she could barely contain herself!

Dark Archive

The Half-Orc surveys the room and the adventurer's that have crowded around him. He takes a deep breath, looking like he's ready to say something, but instead he surveys the crowd once more.

Randomization Time!:
Bambang (or his replacement): 1d20 ⇒ 9
Essa: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Amel: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Rose: 1d20 ⇒ 11

With a grunt he begins to point. "Can handle the cold you say? I'll let Bennaray decide what you can and cannot do."

You, you, you, you, um...you, you, and you..." He announces with each point of his grubby stunted digit.

You quickly realize he's pointed at Bambang (or his replacement), Skodir, Essa, Lenora, Amhranai and Rose. "Come on, to the Grinning Pixie then." He quickly dons his cloak again and reopens the door into the harsh northern winds.

Scarab Sages

(This is Bambang's replacement.) Great, thanks! Hmm, seems we have a few melee and possibly an arcane caster. Let me bring my shaman then, to bring some divine support.
