As the giant falls you find no lack of opposition. Approaching from the east is a pale man touched by the shadow.
Moving at his side are a pair of lurking blots of darkness, their forms shifting as they move across the field phasing through the tents.
Looking upon the fallen giant the man silently commands the shades to attack as he stands ready with little but his cloak to protect him.
One of the shades flies into the air, looking about for targets to pounce upon.

***OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT***
Programming Note: Thank you for your patience, everyone. After much discussion, we have decided that the best way to recover from the system downtime is to fast forwarding through the opening part of the special (since that is the repeat from versions A and B). As such, we will be moving directly into part 4, now. GMs, I will share the updated schedule with you later today.
Together with the Twinhorns, the assembled Pathfinders manage to fight off the undead attacking the camp and make their way to the ritual site. As Medda and Anok join the group of Pathfinders around the stone circle, she assists them with the binding ritual. Medda thrusts Ivvora’s hilt into the portal, calling on Vildeis for aid. The shadow rift shrinks and closes, releasing a massive shock wave that knocks the Pathfinders, the Twinhorn warriors, and Medda to the ground. A field of dark, rippling energy remains, suspended above the stone altar. As Medda reaches out to pick up Ivvora’s hilt—the already broken blade now spider-webbed with new cracks—a supernatural silence descends. Only the telepathic rage of some unseen menace cuts through the quiet. “You dare to shut me out?” it rages. “I see you, but I do not see her. Where is the dwarf woman, Ivvora, who fought me so long ago? Has her mortal body failed at last? Has the realm of the living at last lost its protector? Know this: when the long shadows reach out again, I will grasp them and claw my way back into your world to see your flesh devoured by my children.”
Sound returns to the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, and Medda cautiously stands. “It seems that Eshimka still lives and has even left this foul scar on our world,” she declares. “If we are to believe its promises, the fiend will attack on the next winter solstice. If we are to survive, we must be ready. Nearly a millennium ago, Ivvora held the key to defeating Eshimka. By following her legends and discovering her fate, we may harness the same holy power that banished this fiend—and together end the beast entirely. When we set out, it would be the privilege of this following to have the Pathfinders at our side. But that is a trial for another day. Tonight, at last, we rest.”
Several days later...
Celebration and preparation have filled the last two days. The Twinhorns are both relieved to have thwarted the villain Eshimka and resolved to help the following’s spiritual leader, Medda, retrace the paladin Ivvora’s millennium-old steps. After hours of considering and retelling ancient stories preserved by oral tradition, Medda gathers the Pathfinders. “The holy warrior Ivvora came to us in pursuit of Eshimka, whom she vanquished and banished with the Twinhorns’ help. However, she would not rest for long, and she insisted on seeking out other evils in the area. At that time, the most fearsome threat was Grathatonhakis, an immense white dragon that lurked in the Tusk Mountains and would strike our camps. Ivvora learned what she could, left her dagger with us, and departed to slay the dragon. She never returned, and neither did the dragon. Exactly what transpired is unclear from our legends.” Medda cradles the fragile remnants of Ivvora’s dagger. “This blade kept Eshimka at bay for so many generations, and now it is ready to fall apart. Ivvora held the key to defeating Eshimka, and by learning her fate or communing with her spirit where she fell, we might harness the same power. Then we shall not just reseal the shadow fiend but destroy it once and for all! From our tales we have learned where the wyrm Grathatonhakis laired. Let us set out together to learn what happened—and who might have taken the caves since.”
The trek is long and cold, taking the group first across the tundra and then into shadow of the frigid Tusk Mountains. As the trail winds around a frozen lake, the snap of a snare echoes over the ice, and a Pathfinder is whipped into air by a cleverly laid trap. Medda scowls and announces, “Pathfinders, we have kobolds. Keep within earshot and spread out. They aren’t just a threat; they may also be our best better to finding the dead dragon’s lair.”
This begins part 4. GMs, please proceed to area K. Once you have finished, areas L and M are open.

GM Blazej |

In the time between the events at the Twinhorn Camp and now, you all have been able to rest, fully recover abilities, and prepare new spells. Any spells you had cast during that even have worn off.
Aware of potential traps, you move along a frozen creek. The ice doesn't allow easy passage, but you are able to make steady progress as the trees open up ahead into a snow covered trail. In the distance you hear a number of creatures yelling. It is difficult to pick up, but as you approach you pick up on the languages belonging to the fey and dragonkind.
"OUR STRENGTH GROWS WHILE YOU BECOME TINY! TINY!"
"This place is where we get our food! Either you leave or become our next stew!"
The ice on the creek and lake takes 2 squares of movement for every square and are more difficult to traverse with Acrobatics. The areas covered by trees are difficult terrain and grant partial cover.
The map is up and you don't have an immediately clear line from the your position. What does the group wish to do?

![]() |

The chained up monk wanders through the snow comfortably, visibly pleased with how frosty the weather is. Her robes flowing in the wind, her hair dangling out the font of her face, creating an awful distraction for the young lady. She stops suddenly, and sniffs the air.
"Definitely smells like kobold. We must be close. Pathetic creatures, they are more stupid than wise. Where there's one, there's probably a whole mountain of them somewhere nearby. Hey, Adsal, could you please weave another one of those Mage Armour's around me before things get too heated? It really helped last time." - Keela turns to the arcanist, a glimpse of gratitude across her face as she nods in Adsal's direction.
She stops and awaits for her companions to decide on where to ponder next. Her eyes wide open for any sight of danger.
Keela has constant endure elements vs cold up, from a boon she got doing shades of ice. She will also keep an eye out for danger, but will roll perception when she needs to.

![]() |

Adsal does of course speak booth.
There is nothing under the sylvan spoiler
Seeing the difficult terrain adsal quickly casts fly on himself.

GM Blazej |

Fey are very sly tricksters. Even when one knows their language, it can be difficult to understand them. That or I misplaced tags in such a way that broke that button. What you heard was...
Sylvan: There is a single female voice advocating that their opponents fly away back away. "Where you come only despair follows. We were content to share these lands, but you only want them for yourselves. Given you are so small I can only assume all you keep all your arrogance in your roots!"

![]() |

"Grrr, is that Sylvan I here? What is she saying - can anyone understand that?" Keela looks edgy, obviously with an innate distrust of the fey language.
Keela turns to face Qatala - "No thank you friend, but could you tap me with my own wand of Mage Armor please."

GM Blazej |

After you get your spells well prepared, both long term and some meant to last the day, you hear a roar below out as a pair of arctic dragons rise above the treeline to find you in their vision. They give a dull cry in Draconic calling you out as trespassers.
The voices at before call out in outrage.
In the grove ahead you get get glipses of the humanoid creatures that a were yelling at one another. A pair of white scaled kobolds with greatswords in hand on one side and a fey covered with coniferous leaves across her form.
The kobolds prepare to attack as the fey creature moves cautiously as battle opens up.

Glaring in your direction, one of the kobolds drinks down a viscous liquid that increases their size dramatically. Beforehand he may have stood up to waist she now is as tall as your own warriors. She readies her weapon as the artic winds swirl about her.
Reminder: The ice of the creek, ice lake, and trees all hamper movement.

![]() |

The cold monk flexes her shoulders - an angry look comes across her face, as she see's these kobolds. With a sour distaste in her mouth, she lets she chains wrap tighter around her body as she gets down on all fours. As the smoke from her claws hitting the white snow raises to cover her body, just like that, she disappears. A split second later, she reappears in front of the Fey - growling at the Kobolds in their tongue.
"How dare you raise your iron at this creature of the forest! You worthless dragon worshipers!" - she lets out a growl which sounds like a dragon to intimidate her targets.
Round 1: mechanically, keela will click her boots as a free action for haste, she will cast barkskin on herself as a standard. Assuming that she had mage armor cast on her, her AC 29. Chaine carefully directs Silvermane out of the frozen riverbed and unto the solid forest ground. There the magic in the horse's hooves can enable the steed to greater speeds, which would allow for a charge if the stars align. But for now, he reigns in the noble steed to a defensive halt.
Silvermane Move Action + Total Defense
Now at the center of the copse, Chaine is able to see both his allies and enemies through the snow-laden branches, and issues a loud call to arms, "Strike true, Pathfinders! and fear not what seeks to hinder us!"
Lion's Call (standard, all allies within 60 feet +4 competence saving throws vs. fear and +1 competence bonus on attack rolls for 10 rounds and any ally with frightened or panicked condition immediately makes another save to resist); Chaine within 60 feet of all allies currently, so the following passive ability also active on everyone: Banner (as long as banner visible, all allies with 60 feet +3 morale bonus on saves vs. fear and +2 morale bonus on attack rolls made as part of a charge); Total +7 vs. fear within 60 feet; +9 within 30 feet due to Rallying Shield.
His voice still ringing in the winter air, Chaine continues with an ancient Taldan battle prayer to bless all of his fellow combatants in the fight ahead!
"Hear me, helper of men, slayer of Tar-Baphon! Shed down a kindly ray from above upon my life, and strength of war, that I may be able to drive away bitter cowardice from my head and crush down the deceitful impulses of my soul."
Greater Tactician (Lastwall Phalanx feat) to everyone within 60 feet, swift action (Resplendent Uniform Coat extends from 30 feet to 60 feet)

@Everyone: remember you have +2 morale bonus to hit if you charge due to Chaine's banner effect, and another +1 competence bonus on all attacks (regardless of charging or not) due to the Lion's Call (duration: unlimited/10 rounds, respectively).
If you finish your move near allies, don't forget to add +1 sacred bonus to AC and all saves per ally adjacent to you (due to Lastwall Phalanx feat)
Chaine/Silvermane: currently +1 sacred to all saves; +1 sacred bonus to AC; +2 cover bonus to AC; +1 haste bonus to AC; +1 cover bonus to Reflex saves; +1 haste bonus to Reflex saves. (Total AC Chaine: 32; Total AC Silvermane: 35)

Botting Qatala
Qatala moves closer to be able to make a peer full attack in the following turn.
The drakes move around one another as they fly in different directions on the air. Each launch a freezing explosion of mist from their maws roaring with rage and delight as they do so.
Jackson, Qatala, and Keela are caught in one blast. The mist fades from the air quickly but it leaves the ground and foliage covered in ice.
Jackson, Qatala, and Keela must save.

Qatala can also declare her next turn. The kobold before her is planning on moving toward Keela and attacking.

Keela licks the blood from the wound caused by the Kobold and smiles wickedly. She lunges forth at the kobolds in front of her. She revels in the cold - visibly feeling unshaken from the frostbite.
Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 -- Keela has improved evasion!
"Oh, so you do have some fight in you? Good - maybe you can entertain me." -- the monk snarls in response to the kobold's attacks.
The bonuses on the first flurry and secondary flurry are from Body Wraps of Mighty Strikes. The Dragon Style feat line gives me x1.5+0.5 str on first attack, and then x1.5 str on everything else. DMG Cold: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Remaining Abilities -- Ki Pool (4/8); Stunning Fists (8/9); Boots of Haste (8/10); Spirit Surge (2/3)
Round 2: mechanically, keela will use her elbow smash strike instead of flying kick this turn for more attacks. She will use the inspiration from the Chaine, a point of haste from boots, stunning fist and ki pool point to elliminate her targets. If the first kobold red goes down, she will swing the rest of her attacks and black. Her AC is still 29.
Note! -- Channel Spirit to Elbow Smash: 1d6 ⇒ 1 -- Assuming if my elbow smash misses, hopefully this can increase my attack to be able to hit his shacken AC, assuming he is also intimidated.

Always power attacking. Gaining a total bonus of +1 to hit, +3 to damage from champion spirit. If damage is non-lethal, then +1 damage from Silver Crusade boon.
Note! -- I reserve the right to boost one attack with Spirit Surge (1/rd up to 3/day) +1d6 to an attack roll.
Attention! -- All damage will be: Non-Lethal!
Flurry #1: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18 vs (black kobold) first flurry attack
Additionally -- This attack will have Enforcer and Stunning Fist (DC18 Fort) keyed to it.
Enforcer: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 24 -- intimidate to demorolise target and make them shaken
DMG Flurry #1: 1d10 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22 -- magical, cold iron, silver, bludg
DMG Cold: 1d6 ⇒ 6 -- cold damage from AoMF
Note! -- If intimidate is successful, remainging attacks hit vs shaken enemy AC
Note! -- Ignore this if Flying Kick - Ki Strike is used instead!
Elbow Smash - Ki Strike: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 vs (black kobold) ki strike elbow smash if first hits
DMG Flurry #1: 1d10 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22 -- magical, cold iron, silver, bludg
DMG Cold: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Flurry #2: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27 vs (black kobold) second flurry attack
DMG Flurry #1: 1d10 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20 -- magical, cold iron, silver, bludg
DMG Cold: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Ki Point - Flurry #3: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24 vs (black kobold) third flurry attack from ki point
DMG Flurry #1: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24 -- magical, cold iron, silver, bludg
DMG Cold: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Hasted - Flurry #4: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23 vs (black kobold) fourth flurry attack from haste
DMG Flurry #1: 1d10 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25 -- magical, cold iron, silver, bludg
DMG Cold: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Secondary - Flurry #5: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 vs (black kobold) fifth flurry attack
DMG Flurry #1: 1d10 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27 -- magical, cold iron, silver, bludg
DMG Cold: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Remaining Abilities -- Ki Pool (4/8); Stunning Fists (7/9); Boots of Haste (7/10); Spirit Surge (2/3)
Round 3: mechanically, keela does what she usually does, but she doesn't use a point of ki for an extra attack - trying to save resources. 5ft step up to the black kobold and full attack. This probably won't knock out black but it will bring him low enough.

The drake joins it's partner as the magical flame brings it down and with Jackson's and Keela's combined efforts the Kobold is also knocked out.
With those aggressors down, the fey slowly comes about to speak with you.
"I do not know who you are, but may the flowers bloom at your gaze. I thank you for your aid. The kobolds have grown much bolder as of late. A new clutch of dragons has been born and they desire much more of the land to serve them. They do not take kindly to sharing."
She moves slowly directing to the trees and the land. "The seed gives birth to new life however, and likewise, you must have a purpose for coming here though. It could not be coincidence you being here. Why do you come to this land, far from your homes?"

GM Blazej |

The fey gives an appreciative nod. "Like the wind through the trees on an autumn night, your silence speaks volumes."
"If not for myself, I do not know why you seek out the kobolds and dragonkin as your prey. I would offer my people's aid, but I fear too much for this land to threaten it with the dragons turning their war upon the others."
"I do not wish you to throw yourself into danger for my sake, but I will not leave to the nest if your goal is to seek the dragons for your own ends. I am not able to fight but I am able to guide you to their lair."
She leads you through the woods closer to the dense mountains of the area.
"The entrance is there, but I think it is more likely the tides will stop than they allow you entry."
Before the entrance are a number of kobolds, spellscasters taking positions behind trees as well as a scarred woolly beast chained into place. A enough of you catch notice of a few more kobolds, of a more marital bent lurking within the trees, their rapiers ready to taste your blood.
Upon seeing you the kobolds up ahead call out an alarm as they begin to weave their magic.

Keela walks patiently, following and listening to the fey. She did not speak a word, instead only listened to the conversation which would have been had. Instead, she politely asks Adsal or Qatala if one of them could please use a Wand of Infernal Healing on her.
Wand of Infernal Healing (43/50) -2 charges. Current damage: -4.
When they get to the cave's entrance she softly speaks under her breath. "Thank you for bringing us all this way. You have done enough. We will take things from here. We will cleanse your forest from these fowl creatures." She manages a smile before dropping to all fours and picking the most direct ruite to a kobold. She swftly rushes the closest one, her chains dangling in the air behind her. As she moves, the trees around her break behind her.
Charge vs. Kobold Blue: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24 -- charge attack

DMG Cold: 1d6 ⇒ 5 -- cold damage from AoMF
Note! -- If intimidate is successful, enemy is shaken!
Round 1: mechanically, Keela will enter dragon style as a swift action, then charge at the blue kobold making one attack with enforcer and stunning fist keyed into the strike. She is dealing non-lethal damage. Her AC after charging is 27.

If it wasn't clear for anyone else, you do have time to resolve healing prior to the combat here. 10 minutes have passed since the previous encounter.
